Off The Beaten Path: Where Love Lies [Written Run]
DemICE replied to Commander's topic in Rejuvenation
yknow this is an example of a segment where for the most part you just wander around, but instead of bored, it actually turns out to be an enjoyable time spent. >"isnt this slave labor" ...Well technically pokemon battling is also slave labor for the sake of entertainment. As far as i'm concerned pokemon bonding with their trainer is most of the times a case of Stockholm syndrome. >"(I wonder if they have free wi-fi. Gotta see what my peeps are doing back home)" This line of yours prepared the ground for some later plot points xD I will come back to it when the time comes. -
Figuring out the place was clear once again, since he didn't fancy people asking him how much of all that he had heard, Horace dried himself with the towel before getting out and heading to his belongings to prepare for the meeting. Magnum on the other hand was thinking how cool would he seem to the other pokemon if he showed off his knowledge of what their humans had been up to. Lucky his smile was pretty obscure to humans, who had trouble discerning the facial expression of anything that didn't have what they considered a standard mouth. Horace wouldn't have approved of that betrayal. When he entered the room, some people were already there. Serra had the looks of someone who had just woken up, and near her was another woman he didn't know, that was currently being prodded in the butt. He stifled a grin and then went "Sup," to noone in particular, before taking a seat. "The PA mentioned a Samantha. Could it perhaps be you, miss?" he said to the aforementioned female.

Always interesting to see how someone struggled their way for reborn. Keep this up, you still may have not faced your hardest challenge yet!

In the meantime, Horace, who was in another shower, was listening with interest all this, even Magnum seemed interested. Hearing something about a photograph was enough reason for him to not dare step out of those showers.

Full moon of all games? 80% of reactions would be cringe reactions, and its prolly one of the few games where you can legitimately do a legendary only run.

Do You Imagine Your Pokemon with Personalities?
DemICE replied to CodeCass's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
In the core games, no. but if in mystery dungeon and roleplaying yes. -

Welcome. I will assume you are going to upload your playthrough of Reborn (or any of the fangames hosted in this site) in your channel. If you are new to the core pokemon games, you might find the game pretty challenging, which will in turn make it interesting. I am of the opinion that the first time someone plays something should be cherished, because he goes in completely blind, without knowing what to expect, and meeting tons of obstacles they would have otherwise be prepared for. If you refrain from using the trade system or looking up "what's next" before playing it, it would lead to the experience being even more pure too! So, have fun xD -
Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
DemICE replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
With everything that had transpired, Cathode had forgotten that part of the deal. But really, even if Mason thought it would have been a punishment, she couldn't help but feel excited over the idea of gaining more experience in a field she genuinely liked. "O-oh right, sir, is there a specific time when i should attend it? Also I'm new here so h-how do i get to the lab from here?" She also heard Emm not long afterwards, to whom she replied with "See ya, take care!" -
Rants are okay. The author's opinions is a good subject for the readers to take into account when writing a reply like what im doing right now. Yes to be honest i would have wanted to see more feedback on the battles of a game that has made it as one of its goals to make them challenging, especially since you have the experience to give some good feedback, which is why i initially cared about Intense mode, but to be honest? The mode where the game should give more priority to, should be the normal mode. So it is not just me compromising with your decision, but rather actually preffering if you wrote your thoughts on the battles of the Normal mode (even if its a mode that i never even touched).

Good and bad doesn't matter for me. Different players have different needs, and are satisfied by different things. Are fangames better for me than official games? Definitely. I care little about half the content official games add for multiplayer and other purposes, and i quickly lose interest to something as easy and childish as ORAS. Are fangames better for my little cousin too? Most probably not. He wants his pikachu saying pika pika on him and watching his Z-moves activate after a cool animation and nail those pushover bosses. He would also not think too deeply about the story itself. But he would go "woow" over the legendary-related cutscenes. And surely he would care more about using the multiplayer features too. From where does GF make more money? A bunch of 20-30-year old nostalgia driven nerds like me, or millions of "little cousin"s? So, much to my dismay, they have done the right choice in their priorities. And even the comparison aside, almost all fangames have not yet exceeded my expectations. There are so many possible ideas, so many different directions they could have taken, but no, they use the safe and sucessful get starter-win badges-fight evil team-become champion trope. So disappointing, really. I have high hopes for games like Apex, in that regard, and i even enjoyed Ruby Destiny Rescue Rangers despite its many issues. Also one last edit: When i first played pokemon blue like 20 years ago, i don't remember caring about the difficulty, the story, or anything of the short. I only had two goals: Catch 'em all, and train the mons i liked to level 100 to battle with my friends. I believe this is what the new pokemon players still want to this day.
-
Well, shit, that was sad. Truth to be told thats how i usually lose mons in lockes. Not to major battles because i go for them prepared, but to random shit where i just blindly walk in with probably an unoptimised team. Too bad that these reborn-esque games are all the more unforgiving in that area too. Alas poor Mothball, he tried to fight the power creep but it inevitably got him in the end. Keeping him in the team for so long (probably more out of sentiment, than anything) was an accomplishment in itself. If he could have learned Quiver Dance he could have maybe been more resourceful. He, Coffee and the rest will not be forgotten o7

Horace coughed after the cloud of perfume surrounded him. "That was.. *cough* pretty redundant, as we were going to shower anyways... We don't like this filth either, naturally!" He coughed once more as he went to pick a blanket, shampoo, and a change of clothes and headed towards the showers. Someone else was already occupying one. He went to another one and started thinking of how the day had gone, which led to him letting out a pretty audible sigh. Though some part of him figured he also enjoyed parts of it a little. He raised Magnum, who was also getting a shower treatment to his eye level and said. "Is it bad that I enjoyed some parts of the mission a little? ...Who am I asking though, you sure enjoyed it even more than me!" Magnum rolled his eyes in an "I don't know what you're talking about" way, to which Horace replied with "Yeah, right..."

"We just got employed here, did you really expect any of us to have our own handcuffs or something? It should have been pretty much routine procedure to provide new staff with some basic stuff before sending them on their first mission without them asking." Horace answered, bottling up his exasperation or trying to. "As for these guys, they are quite obviously members of Team Rocket, and they are related with our suitcase case. Serra should have more info to share regarding the suitcase itself, because she took it with her for investigation while i kept these guys occupied." He finished on a professionally neutral tone.

Horace wondered how did it escape his mind that there were two criminals that needed to be carried, before proceeding to agree with Elias' suggestion and carry the male Rocket into the building. He stifled a laugh as the girl was dumped on James' desk and wished there was more space for him to dump the guy too. Instead he settled for dumping him on the side of the office and saying "Interesting personell you guys got here. With such standards it's no wonder that all of us got accepted in the agency. By the way these two will need interrogating, and ... I can't believe you sent us out there without at least providing us handcuffs."

About the Piano Lady: I wouldn't be surprised if Jan decided to recycle her because she became popular with the community from the intro. That aside, she is a likable deus ex machina which is at least better than if she was not likable xD Plot conveniences is how pokemon games always worked. Things coincidentally happen just when you happen to pass by that place. Fresh Infinity Wars references there. I liked Drak too, being imo the least valuable fighter of these films, but making up for it with his unique comic relief potential. I dont have issues with talking pokemon. This is the game we are playing after all, and they should be the stars of the show. Sometimes these story heavy games make me forget pokemon exist, with all that human-centered plot development. I also dont have an issue if their characters turn out to be better than some human characters. We know for a fact that most species intelligence icomes close to a human's, with he language barrier being the main issue, so comparing them with real world animals personality wise is inaccurate. People hate Gossip Gardevoir too but not because she is done badly imo. She is just an annoying personality -period. I wish these games shared the spotlight of the story with pokemon a bit more. That's another good thing that i feel WLL did. About LOTR, i feel like the movies already butchered the book contents enough already xD We don't need your example to happen. About who sabotaged some things before you did the job with Braixen.... wasn't it made apparent later that Mom was the possible saboteur? Red Mage... Is Shelly's Scizor named like that eventually? xd Did you remember to raise the difficulty to Intense? ^^ Maybe one of the reasons Madelis was very easy. ....I never noticed that detail about the Guards. hah The beverage is not Saki but Sake, and its made from rice. I have drank sometimes, its not bad. I still preffer red wine tho. Aelita was freed by M-gurl thats how she went and recued Augustus. How could you forget about it some pictures afterwards? Except if you were speaking from the MC's PoV who didn't know that. This thing that Reborn and Rejuv did with HMs being plot devices is something i never liked. First of all, the concept of HM moves is stupid in a serious story driven game. Why do i need a fucking badge and a HM to get on my lapras and cross a body of water when it is something that the pokemon does naturally? I'm glad Clockwork avoided this.
-
Really though, Objectively, the MC is the most likable character.

I have this impression that at least Caz wished he made talking protag for desolation. Especially considering the last scene of the current update -
"Here, let me help you with the baggage", Horace said to Elias, seeing as he was probably the most physically fit there for this job.
