  1. Hello, everyone! So, with ep19 being released I decided to do a playthrough of sorts, and thought I'd update as we go along! I have some experience with Reborn already - mainly the earlier versions, however. That said, I have played a decent chunk of the newer versions too! As you can see, we're gonna try and do a mono-run with only dark types. I've done some mono-runs before, and gotten decently far with each of them! Now, the question is, which starter do I go for? Froakie of Litten? Both are available much later game, from what I'm aware and around the same point (give/take a gym leader). The earliest fire/water I can get would be Houndour/Carvanah, with Corphish right after. I think with that, I'll go with Froakie. It'll make the first two gyms a little more hard, but I would prefer to get a Houndoom than a Sharpedo. I will also be using some mods (aka passwords) for this too. Obviously, the monodark one, as well as the nohms one. And a few other ones too hehe. I won't be doing the hardcap one however. Also, if anyone knows if there is a password for the sharedpc mod, please let me know! Oh! I will also be naming each member after a set of Deities. If you can guess the theme, then drop it below! With that said, lets begin! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part One:
  2. Hello ! So I've been reading a few playthroughs/fanfictions on the forum, most notably Vanilla's and Matthew's adventures, and I wanted to try one as well. Sorry for the title, I usually struggle with these things. I wanted to add "terribly-titled" (because it's bound to be) but some expletive guy with a huge hungry dragon-like green familiar (I think it was a female, they're supposedly always fiercer) told me these words were his. He sounded pretty upset so I thought best not to defy him. A couple of things about how it is going to work: it is going to be a fanfiction (mostly following the game's original scenario, but...) coupled with a simultaneous playthrough (which will impact events such as the Pokemon in the team, the evolutions, etc). The fanfiction chapters will include a few screenshots as illustrations. Most chapters will, as seems customary, include a "character ratings" part at the very end. Some of them will also include a "PC death count" section which corresponds to the number of defeat-related save scums (not for IVs or mining) during the playthrough to that point. (I'm really not a good player, so I'm going to use items and save scum instead of losing money.) This "death count" will not be referenced directly in the story, but it may affect how the protagonist wins or loses some minor battles with little stakes (some Gym Leader battles, maybe Cain/Fern as well). Something else is worth mentioning: the fanfiction (and thus playthrough) is going to be quite slow-paced. For some comparison: I've been preparing a few chapters and it's more or less going to take twice as much text to get to Julia (probably Chapter 9) as in Vanilla's adventures. Finally, English being not my first language (and my not having much experience writing in my own native language either), there probably are going to be mistakes, so I am welcoming any feedback and comments. That's all for the introduction, the story starts right under the spoiler boxes (which contain links to the uploaded chapters so far). Part 1: (complete) Part 2: (complete) Part 3: (current) Part 1: An Unexpected Journey “It needs but one foe to breed a war, not two.” Tolkien, The Return of the King Chapter 1: Pearl Harbor "aelauake?" The first thing I realized while awaking was pain. My whole back hurt as badly as though a car had tackled me into a solid wall. It didn't hurt (well, it did) that I was currently lying on it. The simile wasn't perfect, actually: the worst was focused on my shoulders and on my lower back. They felt exactly as if they had been skinned. I also found myself struggling to breathe. Maybe someone had struck me in the chest as well. "Gabriel, are you awake?" I didn't really hear the words, my ears were ringing wildly and felt deaf at the same time. The air around me smelt awfully -- and I didn't usually notice these things. There were heavy smoke and ash in the air, but there was something even deeper and more unpleasant beneath. "Gabriel, is it? Are you okay? Please don't go..." My hearing was too dull to make out the last words, which were very quiet, but I got the meaning of the first two sentences. And I thought I could infer the tone. The speaker was distressed, maybe even desperate. What could possibly have happened? I hardly remembered a thing. I did not know this voice. I hurt a lot and I could have been dying. Deep down, I felt like this was definitely not normal. I decided anyway to show I was alive by opening my eyes and trying to rise -- Pain soared. I could see nothing but destruction around. Actually, it was dark, so maybe I was at just the wrong place. Given how much I hurt, I definitely was. Some sort of large, broken apart, building was burning beside me. There were a few police officers (with recognizable uniforms) around. And a woman who looked both appalled and relieved as she looked at me. "Gabriel, thank Arceus you're awake. But, all the others..." She gestured desperately at the burning mess, and I became aware again that I had zero idea about what was going on. Although the woman looked very faintly familiar, with her blue eyes, white skin and very light-colored hair, this was no explanation for why she knew my name. This was very worrying, especially since I seemingly had survived a life-threatening event. My life was at stake. I wished I could be as far away as possible from this place, but, obviously, nothing happened. Well, of course I couldn't get something for nothing. Teleportation like that was fantasy. I got up -- pain flared, the world spinned for a while and then steadied itself -- kept focusing on my breathing, and I turned to the woman beside me. "I'm, hum, sorry, but what was this?" Just unbelievable how clumsy I could be. She frowned as an answer. "I don't know. The train wasn't slowing down, so I tackled you, shoving both of us outside. The train hit the station at full speed while exploding. I'm glad to have saved you, but everyone else... I'd rather not think about it. But who would even -- " She had been struggling to form the sentences, marking long pauses. She visibly had trouble collecting herself. That's likely a very normal behavior. Hopefully you aren't a psychopath devoid of empathy, yet. You might only be completely lost because you don't remember anything. She only broke at the last sentence, as a cheerful younger woman with bright yellow clothes ran with obvious enthusiasm and much giggling towards us. The blue-eyed woman did not seem pleased to see her. She actually looked very not-pleased. "Julia... What did you do? " Julia, obviously, denied being involved in any way, apart from her racing to the explosion to watch the fun first-hand. That was also worth a worry. Hopefully she would be very, very far from anything that might explode... My savior frowned deeply, watching the mess -- and I imitated her. "This must have been a deliberate attack, I am afraid." she uttered. I could not believe my ears. A terror attack? A terror attack had physically blown up the train I was travelling in -- even though I couldn't remember what for -- and I had survived only by the most unlikely stroke of luck. I would very much go home now, please. Wait, this was not appropriate. Never mind. Julia, on the other hand, sounded almost admirative. As if she could not wait to hire the person responsible... This was as scary a thought, actually, than the terror attack thing. "This isn't the time to be admiring their work. Whoever did this would have been monitoring the train, so they cannot be too far away. If I have the perimeter locked, we might get them... Sorry Gabriel, but I have to go. Somebody should be waiting for you near the Grand Hall. Just go straight ahead, not on the bridge. " Had I not watched her as she spoke, I would not have believed how fast she was in control again. As if this was an ordinary Tuesday for her... That could be even worse news, when one thought about it: that might mean that such disasters were common. Julia looked at me, and uttered this unbelievable sentence: "I am Julia, captain of cheer and pep, and all things bubbly and bright! Oh, pop quiz: are you going to take on the Reborn League?" What the... whatever was even the Reborn League? "Hum, I'm afraid I won't. Actually", I blurted. "That's no fun", she pretended to whine. Oh, come on, she could be older than I was. "I am the Electric Gym Leader" -- oh, no -- "so of course I have to insist! I'll be looking forward to your challenge, so get down to the Grand Hall!" she added, oblivious to my dismay, and leaving me alone. I had no idea where I was, where to go, except something about a Grand Hall, somehow straight downtown. It all hurt pretty bad, but hopefully it wasn't too far. I started to walk, but I noticed that the pain was worse than I had assessed, although it remained manageable. I tried to speak with a few people along the way. The attack remained on their minds -- how couldn't it be -- and it was no use trying to find out where I was. One of the people waiting not far, was crying -- she had been waiting for her fiancee. Another one, with a still shaky voice, had escaped the catastrophe by a very bare margin -- they had been in the station a few seconds before the train had blown up. Several others had lost friends, relatives. A few ones had been on vacation and had no idea how to come back. And I still did not know where I was or why I was there. After quite a while, maybe a mile, the outset changed. People did not that much concerned with the incident any more, and I found myself staring at a large building with slight colorful notes. This had to be the Great Hall. "Hi, are you from the station?" a tiny little boy of maybe five asked me. "Yes, why?" I found myself answering uneasily. "My dad is very sad because he said that something very bad had happened there. But Mummy was supposed to come back home by train and she hasn't come back and Daddy is crying now and won't tell me. And why are you walking funny?" I c-couldn't tell him, that wasn't my place. What could even I say? "I'm sorry." I muttered back, heartbroken, and hurried away. A rather muscular young woman with loose grey clothes was waiting nearby, glancing at me every so often. "Hey", she asked me as I was heading towards the Hall. "Are you Gabriel?" With a bit of surprise, I nodded. How come my name was known? Julia or the other woman could have told her. She answered that she was Victoria. She enquired after my general situation with concern. I answered her that I hurt pretty much everywhere -- after the shoulders and the lower back, I had developed a nasty headache and my limbs felt very heavy -- and that a train apparently rigged with explosives had blown up and taken the entire station with it. She mentioned that a certain "Eimy" had asked her to "bring me in for registration". Wait... Eimy what? Registration what? Where in the world was I? I really wished I could have asked this, but this definitely would not have been diplomatic. And she had been kinder than pretty much everyone... "Er, what registration, exactly?" I finally asked. "For the Reborn League, of course." she answered, looking baffled. "Hm, I'm really sorry for asking, but what is the Reborn League?" I insisted. "That's, well, the Pokemon League from the Reborn Region." she answered, apparently more confused. "So I am in the Reborn Region and I asked to participate to the League?" "I'd guess so, yes." she patiently said. "But I have never heard of any of these!" I protested. What I didn't tell her was that I remembered quite clearly now the previous days, and I had made absolutely no plans about challenging a Pokemon League. I would never have gone challenging even the Kalos League. I was studying math, which was just better in every respect. Cleaner, clearer, less uncertain. So how could I have ended up here, of all places? I didn't really have the choice anyway, and I went with Victoria to the Great Hall. While holding the door for Victoria -- I couldn't believe I was being this ridiculous, Victoria would have done so much better instead of miserably struggling in a haze of fatigue -- or maybe struggling to just open it -- a thick envelope slipped out of a pocket I hadn't remembered I had. It was meant for me (it had my name, but not any address), but I was positive I had never seen it. So I opened it. Inside were a few bank notes -- I couldn't believe that so far, I had not worried about money -- and a note: "Use sparingly". In my own writing. What? "What's there?" Victoria asked, looking at my presumably alarmed face. "Nothing." was all I could answer. I didn't want to draw too much attention to the fact that was helpless, and that I had money. "And now, with my usual luck, I am stranded here..." Another thought managed to reach my strained brain. Should my parents get wind of the attack, they would want to know what happened to me... They would worry a lot. I picked up my phone, only to find it smashed. It seemingy had not liked my disembarking very much. Victoria looked at my cell phone and said that she could not make international calls. Guess I had to ask "Eimy". Was it my alleged blue-eyed travel companion (although I didn't remember any travel)? We ended up at a far end in the Grand Hall, at a counter. "I am, er, sorry" I apologized to my rescuer. "But I have no idea what is going on. In my latest, memory, I am in Kalos. What happened?" "Oh." she answered simply, looking very puzzled. "I don't have much time, what do you wish to know?" "First, who are you?" "I am Amethyst, the manager of the Reborn League. You can call me Ame." So that was her. "So, we're in Reborn City, and you convinced me to try my chance." "I didn't convince you. We met in the train to Reborn City -- I think you mentioned something about three planes before and another train -- I mentioned the League, and you sounded quite enthusiastic about challenging it." "I'm afraid I would rather come back home." "There's no real way." she sighed. "Reborn is rather wild. The railway station is, well, to pieces. It was the only real way to go back to... Kalos, right? There was almost a full day of high-speed train in the wilderness. Till the station is repaired, I am afraid you can't leave." Come on, there had to be some way... I'd deal with it later. Wait, did I actually spend at least several days, with the full-day train ride and the other planes? Which day were we? "Is there a way for me to phone someone in Kalos, just to tell them that I am safe?" "I am afraid it can't be done either. We don't have phone links with Kalos, or much of the rest of the world for that matter. We were using the train and letters to communicate with afar." Crap.. "I think I'm slightly wounded. Do you know where I can some sort of treatment? And by the way, I don't know anything around here, do you know where I could sleep?" "I'll show you in a minute. You might be interested to know about the investigation: we were quite lucky and caught right away a suspect with good evidence. We're going to make him talk. By the way," she added, turning to Victoria, "why are you here, Victoria?" "I'm here to take on the League, Ame." she answered. "Kiki thought it would be good training." "I'm sorry, but as you know, you'll have to wait for tomorrow. I can't give out starters this late." Ame replied simply. "There should be room for you to stay here as well tonight. Why are you here so late, anyway?" What kind of administrative building had even room for chance (or rather misfortune) wanderers to sleep? The rest of the evening was mainly pain and exhaustion, now that my adrenaline level was falling down to normal. Ame showed me the nursery and pointed me to a couch in an isolated room. A weary doctor examined my wounds and declared that however spectacular (falling off a train at that speed apparently was quite damaging), they weren't serious, but required disinfectant. Very annoyingly, it turned out that the disinfectant reacted more to the "spectacular" part, rather than the "serious" part. I tripped on the couch and fell asleep after contemplating unpleasant thoughts such as the stinging pain in my back, my now atrocious headache, being trapped in Reborn City for an indefinite period of time, and not being able to communicate with the outside world. Oh well. Tomorrow was another day. Character ratings:
  3. If you're involved enough in the fangame scene to be using this website, you've at least heard of Pokemon Uranium. While I enjoyed the game overall it had a lot of problems, the worst of which in my opinion was the gross mishandling of its main "quirk": the Nuclear type. Almost all the Nuclear-type Pokemon are corrupted versions of already existing Pokemon, which sounds kinda cool right? Well too bad because the corruption has driven them mad and they won't listen to you, making them practically unusable. You can "purify" them later on and then they'll obey you, but by "later on" I mean only after you've got ALL the gym badges. By then, you've already got a team set up that you've been playing with the whole game, and with the story almost over you probably aren't inclined to grind up a new member just to try out the new type. There are a handful of "natural" nuclear Pokemon that will listen to you without needing to be purified, but most of them are, you guessed it, only available after you've beaten all the gyms. But now for some good news: @Fervis has made a badass mod (link here) that adds most of Uranium's fakemon, moves, and of course the Nuclear type to Reborn. And yes, the Nuclear-form Pokemon actually listen to you this time. He even made a bunch of Nuclear forms that weren't in the original, just because he's cool like that. So to make up for how underused the Nuclear type is in it's own game, I'll be attempting the first-ever Nuclear Monotype of Reborn. The rules are: 1. The energy core that lets me nuclearize Pokemon is available very early on, only behind 3 required trainer battles (5 if you count Victoria and Cain at the start). I make a beeline for it, catch a Pokemon with a Nuclear form along the way, nuclearize that Pokemon, dump my starter in the box, and then the run really begins. 2. Only Nuclear-type Pokemon in battles. I can use other types of Pokemon for sidequests, HMs, breeding, etc. In the original Uranium the nuclear Pokemon were found already corrupted in the wild and couldn't breed, but in this mod you actively turn regular Pokemon into their nuclear forms. That means breeding is actually an option here. 3. The mod has debug enabled for testing purposes, obviously I won't use it. 4. The mod is an expansion of Plates of Arceus, which has a ton of side content and even its own separate storyline. I'm ignoring it for the most part. This is about Reborn the base game. *Bonus Points* I'll TRY to follow these, but if I get completely stuck and HAVE to break one to win, I will. *1* Play on set mode. *2* No items in battle. *3* Nucleon is banned because he's kinda broken. Fervis is planning to nerf him in the episode 19 update, so I'll unban him then, at least temporarily to see how broken or not-broken he is. I think that about covers it, so let's begin. I also considered making this one of those "fanfic" playthroughs that are popular on this side of the forums but realized that anything I wrote would probably be cringey and bad. Then I remembered this is the internet so I don't care! Chapter 1 And for those of you who care more about the game than my shitty fanfiction, I'll be adding a "gameplay section" to my updates. The team so far: And no, I'm not doing "character ratings".
  4. Anyway, when the version had dropped, I was wanting to record it from the beginning on the Channel. I should have tried to capitalize on the day it dropped, but In had wanted to finish another playthrough first. So, if I can control my procrastination while doing some editing, I'll make these videos have the backdrop to them. Anyway, Here is Episode 1 of Rejuvenation. Where we start with the prologue and end up getting to our starter.
  5. It's finally here! My Pokemon Desolation Playthrough! Along with my new intro! Please enjoy!
  6. Well, after two rewrites and almost a whole two months of planning and stress. It's finally here! The prologue. Yay! ......Ok, I won't lie - I'm kind of disappointed with myself. I shouldn't have worried and stressed over this as much as I did. Because writing fanfiction is suppose to be fun and there is a reason why they say you should write at your best. My feelings really effected how this turned out. So, I'm sorry if the prologue is bad. Hopefully I won't have as much trouble with the rest of the story. Also I hope it didn't effect Melanie's character. Part 1: A Rocky Start Prologue I awoke from my nap to the sound and feel of bumpy train tracks. With the train itself being extremely musty. I was a bit surprised that I got any sleep because of the smell. But the night before I got little to no sleep at all - me being too worried about the trip to Reborn City I would be taking the next day. And...just like that, I started to worry again. What was Reborn going to be like? Was it all just urban areas? What were the people going to be like? Heck, what were the Pokémon going to be like? Is it going to be anything like Sinnoh? I shook my head. Maybe...I just needed some fresh air. I mean, the train was kind of stuffy. So, I stood up to open the window. Using the sleeves of my jacket to not hurt my palms as I did so. Just now realizing that we were in a desert, because of the hot air hitting my face. ‘That’s great.’ I thought. But then, I noticed something, much worse...a dog-like Pokémon with white fur and a large horn staring at me. “Is...is that an Absol?” “Um..excuse me? Next please.” I heard someone say behind me. Startled, I jumped back into my seat. I looked up to see who it was - now embarrassed - to see a woman with snow-white hair looking back at me, with an almost amused look on her face and a clipboard in her hand. “Oh, sorry about that,” she snorted. “I didn’t mean to startle you.” “I-it’s ok. But what do you mean, 'it’s my turn'?” I asked, hoping that it wasn’t about my Boarding Ticket, as I had misplaced it. I was never good with these things… “Do you mind if I take a seat first?” I was relieved hearing that. But also curious, what did she want to talk about? “No, I don’t mind at all.” After my answer, she sat down in the set in front of me. “Well, first off. I’m Ame the manager of the Reborn League. Second, I’m coming back from some business out of town, so I figured I might as well get a head start on everyone’s registrations.” she explained. “Were you also going to sign up for it? It would be great if so.” “I…” The truth was I was going to say no. I already went through a League before, it being the Sinnoh League. One of the hardest ones in the world, and I failed. So I had no intention of trying another one. But after seeing the passion in Ame’s eyes, I started to worry if I said no. “I guess so.” “Excellent!” she said with glee. “I’m glad to finally get this thing off the ground again.” ‘Again? What happened to the last one?’ I thought, getting more and more nervous every minute. “The truth is,” Ame said with a more serious tone. “After the incident a few years ago, the whole region was almost completely abandoned...even by the Pokémon.” But after seeing my worried expression, she lightened up. “But don’t let that worry you! It may not be the ideal place, but our Gyms Leaders are like nothing you’ve seen before, and I think you’ll find Reborn to be a Region like no other too!” Now it did start to interest me more than worry me. I wondered what the Gyms would be like. How many Gyms would there be? Would there be eight or more? Gosh I hope not, I could hardly handle eight. Oh! Would there be a Fairy Gym? “Now that that’s settled, can I see your boarding ticket please?” ‘Crap.’ Now, I was back to worrying. I looked frantically around myself and in my purse for the ticket. Feeling the tension in the air, as both Ame and I started getting really nervous. Finally, I could feel something italic between my fingers in my purse and pulled it out - it being my ticket. There was a heavy sigh of relief from both of us. Hoping that it had no scratches on it, I handed my Boarding Ticket to Ame. “Hmm...Melanie Collins,” she mumbled, why writing it down on her clipboard. “Okay, I got you down.” She handed my ticket back to me. I put it back in my purse, glad that I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. “Ok! We’re almost to Grand Station, so after we disembark, just follow me to the Grand Hall. There, I’ll give you a starter Pokémon to really kick off your adventure in Reborn. Sound good?” “Yeah, it does.” I answered, smiling. But for real this time. I wonder what Pokémon they have as starters? I already knew which one I was wanting to choose. But I didn’t know if they would have it or not. “Good, then if you’ll --,” Ame stopped, looking at something behind me with a very worrisome look on her face. “Um…” I looked to see what it was; now terrified, because I could feel a presence watching me. Only to see that nothing was there. “Something’s not right...Shouldn’t we be decelerating already?” I looked back at her. ‘Wait, we’re supposed to be slowing down?’ Then everything started going just as fast as the train was. Ame yelled something to me...but I didn’t hear what it was, before I was thrown out the window - with the sound of shattering glass and an explosion echoing through my ears. What happened? 7. Hey everyone! I recently joined the Reborn forums, but I've been playing Pokemon Reborn for some time now. I'm starting up this run that was inspired by Pikasprey's infamous 6 Smeargle Challenge run of Pokemon Crystal. I've been meaning to do something like this sooner (and I have no idea if anyone attempted to do a run of Pokemon Reborn using the same challenge), but I will be attempting to do the same challenge. Rules: 1. Can only use Smeargle on my team. 2. Bag items are allowed. 3. Am allowed to use the HM mod (for surfing, using rock smash, etc.) and other Pokemon for overworld interactions (e.g. headbutt). I'm probably not going to last any further than the second gym, but let's see how far I can get with this. The first thing I did was heading to the Grand Hall, get my starter Pokemon (Mudkip), and quickly rushing through the battles so I can box it as soon as possible. I then picked up my members of the team. I think they need no introductions, but here they are! : Some early thoughts: It seems that while Technician would be good in the early game to boost some of the weaker attacks (Tackle, Quick Attack, etc.), it would become useless beyond the first or second gyms. It'd ultimately boil down to evasion boosts from Moody spam (unless I can somehow get Transform on one of my Smeargles, but that seems highly unlikely). X items would also be great, but I'll probably only get them around mid-game (I forget when exactly). Terrains will also be annoying to deal with unless I can get some reliable way to beat the terrain effects that the gym leaders will inevitably have. Throughout its lifespan, Smeargle also only can learn 10 moves (only around 2 to 3 moves before the first gym, realistically speaking) so uh.... that's not a good sign. I might decide to breed multiple Smeargle? only if it gets really tough though. I decided that I should find moves that I would use consistently afterwards, but it's so difficult finding moves with a high base power early game As of now, I didn't have a single Pokemon with an attacking move, so I picked up a random trainer with a Yungoos that knew Tackle, and traced it on Willy Wonka, who has Technician. Tackle should receive a sizable boost because of that. I wanted Nani to be my special attacker, so I had it trace Water Gun off a trainer's Ducklett. Willy Wonka was able to grow to level 11 by this time (since it was the only one with a decent attack), so I finally went through this double battle, so it could sketch Fury Cutter: I'm expecting Willy Wonka to carry our next few battles - Fury Cutter is just busted early game. I then decided to battle the fisherman in Lower Peridot Ward? to sketch his Horn Attack with Jimbo (effectively a 97.5 BP move after STAB). It's a bit unfortunate that Horn Attack's BP (65) just barely misses the Technician boost, or else I would have used Willy Wonka to copy it. I found a Sea Incense in the back room, so I equipped it on Nani to give it a small boost to its Water Gun attack. We find a Kricketot, which is so helpful. I know what I'm naming it: I was then able to get Swift on Nani from a trainer's Ledbya: I proceeded to get ember on my Elgreams by stealing it from a trainer's Salandit... (yea I'm using Sketch wayyy too liberally for my liking, but I will need the Fire type attack for later on... We'll definitely have to mass produce some more Smeargles after this one). In the meanwhile, I trained up a Zigzagoon on the side and taught it Headbutt. With this, I could now use it to find Burmy in Seacrest's Garden, and obtain Protect for Gooper. Gooper doesn't have any attacking moves right now, but it should be fine because I can get attacking moves later on anyways. Protect just helps guarantee a Moody boost for me. My goal for this update was just to beeline to Fern and quickly beat him, so that's exactly what I did. We beat Fern relatively easily... so that's a good sign, right? Team Recap: This is my first time posting, so hopefully there aren't any mistakes >.>. Let me know if y'all have any suggestions, tips, or advice for my run! Will be posting later with more updates. 8. It's finally here! Pokemon Black 2 Squadlocke! I've been wanting to do something like this for a LONG time and I've finally done it. So here we go. Episode 1. Ohh. Before I forget, this will be the only episode I tag in the people that have "helped" me in this. You'll see what I mean when you watch the video. If you want to be tagged every time I upload a video (the 5 people that helped me I mean) then please let me know. That way, I know I won't be annoying you if you don't wanna be tagged. So yea! Here we go! Episode 1 is here! @The Swordsman @Q-Jei @Candy @MegaMew @Amethyst For the people who don't know what a Squadlocke is, here are the rules for it. 1. Squadlocke follows regular Nuzlocke Rules. -Catch the first Pokemon on each route/area (if you fail to capture it you can't catch anything else) -If a Pokemon Faints it is considered dead either release it or put into a "Dead Box" 2. Choose a few friend's you would consider your squad, and get a full team of Pokemon of each friend's choosing. You would generate each friends team into a separate box in the PC. 3. After each encounter in the Nuzlocke head to the PC Box and load up a box containing a Squad Members Pokemon Team you have not drawn from (preferably cycle through the boxes in order) and random number generate to decide which Pokemon you will exchange for your encounter, to use for the Nuzlocke.
  9. So, I'm a fan of Nuzlockes and other challenge runs, I use Sandbox on here to try out oddball runs of Reborn all the time! A run with ONLY ONE item allowed? I've tried it. A run with a single legendary or mythical vs. the entire game? Sign me up!. I want to hear some crazy ideas for runs of Reborn. Give your wackiest, zaniest, stupidest, most insanity-driven run ideas you've got! My ultimate goal is to compile a list of crazy run ideas so others don't have to look far for some wacky fun ideas. The more the merrier!
  10. Hi Everyone, With a quarantine in effect in my city I have returned to Reborn to pass some time... but I am very rusty and have been struggling on team construction (honestly I was never very good to begin with). I wanted to know if this idea would be viable and playable in reborn (since it's the hardest Pokemon game I have ever played and you can't just pick your favourite Pokemon and hope for a win). The team was inspired by the VCG 2017 AFK core; Arcanine, Tapu Fini, and Kartana; often backed up by a Garchomp, Snorlax, and Gigalith, but since obviously some of those Pokemon aren't available, and some I don't like I changed things around a little. I won't go into too much detail on the sets themselves, but I would love to hear people's opinions on whether this is a playable team given how hard Reborn is: Primarina - Calm Mind Special Sweeper Arcanine - Bulky (maybe?) Physical Sweeper Flygon - Physical Sweeper Spiritomb - Defensive Tank Type: Null - Defensive Tank Ferrothorn - Rock and Spike Setter From a type coverage standpoint both offensive and defensive, I think it covers everything I need. It has decent mix of roles, though is definitely a little heavy on physical damage over special. Does this team actually have what it takes to make in in Reborn? Help and suggestions greatly appreciated!
  11. Hey everybody, I've just recently joined here, but have been playing Reborn since a year ago. After seeing lots of people do Monotype or themed playtroughs, I thought of trying out a new kind of challenge to spice up the game - which I will name the Under 450 Run. If you're wondering "What does that name mean?": It's derived from the main rule this run is based on: I will only use pokemon with a Base Stat Total (BST) of 450 and below. If you're not familiar with those numbers, let me give you some examples to show you why that would be considered a challenge: Legendary Pokemon usually have a BST between 580 (trios like the birds or dogs) to 680 (Mewtu, Rayquaza, etc.), the strongest being Arceus with 720. Pseudo Legends like Metagross or Garchomp all have a BST of 600. Starters and Gen 4 new evolutions (Electivire, Mamoswine, etc.) are located somewhere around 520-540. Pidgeot is at 479, Solrock: 460, Sandslash: 450, Wigglytuff: 435, Mightyena: 420, Ratticate: 413 and Butterfree: 395. This little overview should let you picture what kind of pokemon i will be using. Now to the rules: The rules I set for this run are as follows: 1. Only Pokemon with an original BST of 450 or lower are allowed in battles. 2. The Battle Style will be on 'Set'. 3. Bag Items are not allowed during Trainer battles. 4. Trading is prohibited to prevent unfair early advantages. 5. Moves that directly boost stats won't be allowed, neither status moves like Swords Dance nor attacking moves with a passive boost like Flame Charge. Early game will basically be the same as normal runs since there aren't really any pokemon with a BST over 450 to use. Therefore the real challenge will only start from mid game onwards. I've been planning this run for quite some while now, and I'd really like some feedback from you guys and to hear your ideas on what pokemon to use.
