You know I kind of realized, Lusamine is so underrated in being a Pokemon villain. Nobody really talks about her but I personally feel that she's one of the best. She's mad and crazy and her back story was really great. Plus she fused with a fookin Nihilego. Imo she was one of the reasons that made S/M good story-wise.

USUM Lusamine....
You know I would have really loved USUM if SM didn’t exist. These are the two specific things that made me not want to remember it at all:
- Lake of the Moone - so many things could have been done with this area, certainly for an alternate universe. Instead we get absolutely nothing.
- Ryuki - wasted character. They gave no background to him whatsoever.

Ehh I feel those two things alone aren't major enough to condemn the whole game , which did improve over SM in other areas. Ryuki exists simply so there could be a dragon specialist. And he does have background, just not a very deep one.
as for lake of the moon it was pretty underutilized., I agree.

As I was watching this video, I'm just realizing how really BIG the Galar Region is. There's so much going on in the map that the possibilities are endless. I'm back to being excited again

To be honest time: A part of me is still a little bit underwhelmed on Pokemon not totally changing up their formula. Gen 8 was really their opportunity to try something new and stepping out of that Starters>Gyms>Champion linearity. Keeping it traditional is GF’s way I guess. I just really really love Pokemon, so I’m just positive about everything. Who knows? Maybe they might prove us wrong. Ohmori himself said that “We are pushing ourselves to try new things.” well, I hope. I’m putting my faith in this one.

HM's will probably be non-existent now since Let's Go didn't have them too. I really really wish for there to be more megas but knowing Pokemon, they want to focus more on the "new gimmick" on this generation since that what had happened in Gen 7 with z moves. Though I am more positive for alternate forms. Cross fingers to God that Kanto mons get a pass this time around.

You’re not alone on the hype I promise you! I’ve also watched this particular video and they really made some interesting points as they highlighted every small detail. It really makes me wonder on what that symbol means on the logos? I also want to share gameboyluke’s analysis! He lives in the UK and seeing his insights on how Sword and Shield take inspiration from Great Britain is so pleasant to hear. He says that GF, on the trailer alone, nailed on portraying Britain in Galar. Here’s his video:

Omg Galaran forms... it reminds me of Phoenix rising's variant forms! Yo if we get those.... best Pokemon games of the century. Sinnoh remakes stans need to sit down and chill tbh. I look forward to them too, but that can wait. I'd rather have a Let's Go Sinnoh which is a remake of Platinum! That would be 999x better. The evil team would most likely be an old, traditional and "victorian" type of evil team. That would be so dope. There are so many references to Kalos!! Im..... but it is dangerous to expect so let us not. There's no harm in dreaming though. It will be really nice since UK and France are really related. Gen 6 was ROBBED of it's potential, so going back to Kalos would redeem so much of everything that has been damaged lol. That looks accurate! I'm really questioning that Dugtrio gate tho. What horrifics can possibly be inside there?

Could be! Pokemon league can also be that dragon castle in the middle because the city at the top and I might be reaching, but it might be a battle frontier-esque kind of place. Hoping that would be the case! As per the 2 houses inside a forest with the big mushrooms? I think it might be a hidden town which has the fairy or poison gym. That would definitely be one of the prettiest places in Galar as I see it. Some peeps are also speculating that mountain on the west side connecting with another mountain through a railway or maybe a bridge? They're saying that it leads to the Couriway station of Kalos. Do you think there will be a the slightest possibility that we might re-visit Kalos? Since Gen 6 was so lacking in content? I doubt it. But it may be plausible....

Now that we've all calmed down, let's discuss! First on the list, the Galar region! Here is the map in all of it's glory: Oof. So that little image is the whole new region of Generation 8! Thoughts: It looks pretty big actually. The largest out of all regions maybe. We have some weird stuff going on here so let's talk about them! My eye is really focused on that big modernized city at the top. I wonder what goes on around there..

Okay so rn I’m having my cup of coffee, watched the trailer about 25 times and I’m finally sane enough to share some after thoughts with this one so here goess: - Region based: England-ish - Same models from SM/USUM - Gorgeous graphics... - Three starters are revealed - The possibility of competing in FIFA It’s a bit to early to judge the games as a whole right now because we only got to see a 7 minute snippet, so let’s stick to what we know. For a while Pokemon has been lowering in terms of quality in my opinion, started with Gen 6 - Gen 7. Though XY and SM were fantastic games, let’s be honest, the laziness in implementing these games can really be seen (especially with ORAS/USUM) and some were just really ham-handed. Though with core titles, they always really manage to deliver nonetheless. For Generation 8 I promised myself that I would really be very critical since it’s the Nintendo Switch, there’s no excuse whatsover now. Yet critical just means that I don’t want to see half-a$$ed effort from gamefreak. That’s it. I know everybody was expecting a BOTW tier Pokemon game, myself included. It could be this one for sure we don’t know yet! But being with GF through all these years, you probably know how they work by now. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will just be regular old Pokemon games, and maybe that’s okay. So, from what we’ve seen in the trailer, visuals are stunning. I think they managed to get the essence and atmosphere of England. Graphics wise: it’s just SM upgraded. Good or bad, still depends. I have to see if the protag’s mouth actually opens this time around. So starters.... I like all of them! But I’m not head over heels. I’ll probably learn to love them as time goes on (depends on their final evo actually). Otherwise, I’m happy with what we’ve got. Grookey, Sobble and Scorbunny, you three are our Generation 8 starters. Things I’m worried about: Only few new Pokemon. I really want Gen 8 to be filled with new mons!! If we get like Gen 6 number of new mons, I’m fine with that. But most especially, I’m really really really frightened of Scorbunny’s final evo. Istg if it’s a fire/fighting... hnnnngggghhhh So the finale for this one is this: I woke up at 6am for the first time in a while now and it was worth it. Trailer alone, I’m content. I didn’t wish for much and didn’t hope for little, and we got it just right. I think Gen 8 has a lot to offer for us, considering we can now maybe compete at the world cup. Overall, I think we have another good gen in our sleeves. Best hopes for the competitive scene too! I’m excited P.S. I’m currently broke so time to finally save up for these games

If your criteria is “effectiveness” then I can recommend some mons that are generally considered to be “high tier” in Reborn. These mons require little to no difficulty in training as they are already strong as is. I’ll only name the ones that you can get early on which are also great candidates even for late game: 1. Diggersby - You can get bunnelby early. Huge Power coupled with a very good moveset and evolves early. A mon who packs a lot of punch. 2. Ampharos - Mareep is also available before Corey I think. One of the best electric types to have. Good bulk with having the move Electric terrain, which turns field effects to your favor. 3. Arcanine - One of the most flexible mons of Reborn. It’s useful to almost every fight and a must-have in a team. There are plenty more of mons that are viable if you know how to use them. But with these three, you can never go wrong with them. Have fun with your first play through! Just play at your own pace and enjoy every bit of the game.

I didn't know they already had another trailer up! Thanks for posting about it! I can't wait to see the manga version animated. I did love what they did with the first animation, changes and all, but it will be nice to see all the characters they never got to in anime form.
I almost hope they do either a remix of the first anime's opening song, or at least have a song by the same singer. I just love it!

@seki108 No prob! I have the exact same thoughts also. With the music in the trailer, I think we have nothing to worry about because I'm already sold. The original ani was already perfect so seeing this one was really pleasant and very heartwarming. I think they did it justice in terms of visuals right now. I really can't wait to watch it.

I'm not really fond of the genre either but fruit basket is a really special one for me. This anime wrecked me when I was a teenager so I can't wait to relive that again and finally collapse in 2019.

Increasing the level cap would be good imo. Pokemon Zeta/Omicron and I think Insurgence did it, reaching to level 120 and it did increase in difficulty in a way. Given Reborn’s content on post-game subjectively, it’s a good step. P.S. I also remember a rom hack, Pokemon Vega, did it too. I think reaching the yikes level of 200. That game was so hard istg it was ridiculous, but fun though.

Labradorra’s gym is done so I wonder if the next step in mapping is now finally in Charous Mountain? Which I’m very much dreading. Can’t even fathom what would the Victory Road would be like..... probably 999 puzzles.
