Welcome to the Apocalypse - Director's Cut IC

Nadine whirled about and, well, ran away with a short scream, trying to get away from the morbidly obese Demi-Servant. "Opal, take over again, please just get us out of here!" Right as she spoke, her mannerisms changed again, going from the somewhat clumsy run of a girl who spent a lot of time sitting around on the internet to a much more efficient-looking quick stride, her eyes scanning the area as she moved.

Loadout

Include: Nero Claudius: Aestus Domus Aurea: Each one of Lucine's attacks has a 10% chance to Dazzle, which causes the victim to lose its next action and deals SYN damage to any nearby enemies.
Install: Herakles: God Hand: Negates all actions targeting Lucine that are Level 1.

Big Blast I: A long-ranged magical assault consisting of a number of blasts of raw magic. Not a particularly refined technique, but it gets the job done. Deals SYN damage 3 times, to up to 3 different targets. 1 turn cooldown.

Equipment:

Kaleidostick Magical Opal (Level 3): Provides numerous things to Lucine, including a fair amount of unnecessary headache at times and the ability to utilize her powers as a magical girl. It's been modified heavily from the original designs by both Lucine and her father, resembling a pair of oversized pistols when in use in combat. The guns lock together into a slightly less threatening-looking winged box when not in combat mode, a box that can fly about under its own power.

-Damage: (Worlds Cleared+1)d8+SYN

-Soulbound: This item is immune to most item destruction or theft effects, but can be given away, granting most of Lucine's combat powers to the bearer instead.

Ammunition of the Waterfront Saint: Bullets that lend attacks the kick of a certain brawling saint. All attacks that hit while this is equipped cause a -2 SYN debuff on the victim lasting 1 turn. Only equippable if the user is already using a firearm.

Nader had been running best as he could, the plates, even with the revised articulation on his joints, limiting the length of his strides and ensuring that he moved somewhat clumsily. So when the rest of the party caught up to him, even if he'd expected it, it drew a little "Fuuuck," from him, especially what with the booming voice of their pursuer. Then, when Nader twisted to actually look at said pursuer, he instantly regretted it, seeing as the gasmasked, utterly giant, horribly obese monster chasing them was actually pretty terrifying. "FUUUCK!" Nader turned back and just did his best to run.

Nader uses his action to move!

Combat continues!  The Hog is coming for you!  Flee the Hog!

Contagion covers the first square with a thick cloud of smoke, increasing the dodge chances of everyone within by 10%.

Aquila runs the fuck away.

Vitor makes a series of complex, graceful gestures, and tiny turrets form from light itself, clamping to Nader and Stelio's armored backs.  Vitor's ultimate meter is now at 3/10.

Spoiler

Vitor brings Sentry Turret, Marathon Runner, Passive Shielding, Ultimate Meter, and Phantasmal Blueprint - Gae Bolg.

Roadhog throws out his hook, and it snakes around the waist of the only person he can clearly see right now:  Aquila.  Laughing at the warrior's startled cry, the enormous Australian pulls Aquila in, slams him to the ground, and stomps down on his chest.  Aquila is Pinned until he succeeds in an opposed strength check against Roadhog, or somebody forces Roadhog move.

Alan orders his Doombot to run for it, and then follows his own advice.

Leo runs away, leaving his Doombot behind.

The Frost Brute shoots a stream of icefire at Roadhog, dealing 3 damage.  Though Roadhog is now on fire, he doesn't seem particularly concerned.

Sha'Tith runs away, firing off a staggering amount of attacks to cover his retreat.  He deals 24 damage to Roadhog.  Roadhog barely flinches.

Contagion runs for it.

Aquila is pinned!  Aquila attempts to struggle free!  Strength check 12 vs 29!  Failed!  Aquila is unable to shift Roadhog.  The ice fire spreads to Aquila.

Vitor runs for it!

Freya makes a series of arcane gestures, spawning a massive horde of zombies from the dry earth!  The zombie horde has 112 HP, and 28 attacks which each deal 1d2 damage.

Ena runs for it.

Blue Occultist begins hovering on some eldritch wind.

Roadhog takes a look at the hazy area ahead of him, from which zombies are beginning to emerge.  He drops his hook to dangle by his size, raises his massive shotgun, and pulls a strange contraption from one of his belt pouches.  "It's time to go Whole Hog!" he declares, before slamming the top loader full of scrap metal into place and starting to crank.  He fires a massive spray of shrapnel into the mist, which pings off of Stelio and Nader's armor without penetrating (perhaps due to the diffuse nature of the attack), and triggers Vitor's turrets to deal 8 damage to him and remove any other actions Roadhog could take this round.  The Whole Hog also shreds all of Freya's zombies, blows a leg off Leo's abandoned Doombot, and deals 12 damage to Freya with a spray of projectiles.  Blue Occultist is not struck by anything, as he surfs the storm of metal like a wave, ending up a block further away.

Nader thanks Allah for his amazing, blessed, precious armor as he runs for it.

Stelio runs for it, and then keeps running.

Roadhog discards his empty top-loader, returning his scrapgun to its usual configuration.

Status:

Spoiler

Contagion: Healthy.  1 block away.

Aquila: 18/36 HP, moderately wounded. Pinned under Roadhog.  Only by making Roadhog move or overpowering him can Aquila escape.  Ice Fire (1d3 damage per round)

Vitor: Healthy.  1 block away.

Roadhog: -35 damage, ignited by ice fire.  Does not seem concerned by this.

Alan: Healthy.  1 block away.

Leo: Healthy.  1 block away.

Sha’Tith: Healthy.  1 block away.

Lucine: Healthy.  1 block away.

Freya: 8/20 HP, badly wounded.

As Freya kept running, she couldn't help but look back as one of the party members was dragged back, getting hooked by Roadhog and pinned under their foot. However, she had a good feeling that, even if she kept running, her 'zombies' would give them enough time to get out and get back to running. At least, that's what she thought, before she saw Roadhog shove a bunch of metal into his shotgun and begin to... Well, go whole hog, tearing through her minions and causing dirt and rook to fly through the air, purple energy wisping out of each corpse and trailing back to Freya as she kept running.

However, she was not safe from the hog, as she felt a searing pain in her left arm as she ran, an another sharp pain from the right side of her torso, causing her to nearly let out a gasp of pain, only barely managing to keep it down. As she kept running, she looked at the two spots of pain, eyes widing as she saw the damage. The middle part of her left arm, right above the elbow, was nearly blown off, though for the most part, it was already being taken care of as tendrils of black energy began to form around the room, filling the void. The same went with her torso, though it was mostly just a small hole that was quickly filled up. While both WERE filled up now, the pain was still there, and did not seem to want to go down.

"That is... SO unfair..." Freya muttered as she ran, the staff holding her staff now also holding her wounded arm.

Freya keeps running from the apocalypse.

Spoiler

-Actives

(Perk backed)Necromancy: Freya targets a dead enemy, specifically, the skeleton of a long dead body, or a revenant, reviving them to heed her command. These revived creatures have their dexterity reduced to 0, though Freya is forced to make an Essence vs Resistance check in order to keep them at their full strength. A success let's Freya use them with their stats at their normal ability, while failing halves each stat aside from Con. These minions count as actions, and must have actions slots to use.

Misty Skulls: Freya slams her staff into the ground, releasing multiple skulls made of grey mist that fly at an enemy, dealing 1d6+SYN damage.

(Perk backed)Resurrection: Freya revives a friend from death, because she can. Freya brings a person back to life, but permanently loses 1 Syn minimum. The revived person in question starts off with 0 stat points, but gains 1 stat point for every Syn Freya spends.

-Passives

YES! YES! YES!: Freya loves death, and craves seeing it. When 5 creatures die around her, she gains a 25% increase to her Synergy and Essence until the battle ends.

-Trumps

Natural Requiem: Freya infuses powerful necromancy into nearby soil, causing it to temporarily return to what it once was, spawning undead made of the ground itself. Freya summons Syn*4 zombies made from material in the ground around her, which are grouped into one. Freya then rolls 1d4, which is the health of each zombie. Each zombie can attack for 1d2 damage each. Usable once per encounter.

Stellio

26/26 HP; 12/30 MP; 0/200 TP
Current Ogre Boost: +0 Str/Ess

Ess/Str/Dex/Int/Syn/Res/Con
5/5/-2/5/0/8/3
-minimum of 2 moves each round

-MP-fueled actions have their checks boosted by 1/2 Int ((2))

The knight continued to run for a bit longer, though as some... odd contraption was strapped to his back, and even before then the crusader he'd spoken with earlier was dragged away through the fog, he soon stopped and turned, surveying the field. Though he had put decent distance between himself and the-....

The ogre. that was truly all that could describe what he saw in the distance, as even now the obese pig occupied itself slowly crushing the crusader to death. He may not have borne the deformities and other hallmarks of the corruption of chaos, as Dorgulia and Rodric both had, but there was little doubt in Stellio's mind about it. The manbearpig definitely seemed possessed of the might to contend with one, that much was true...

So too did he... but part of him was far too weary to consider diving right back in, to toss aside the fledgling peace that had been born back home and plunge himself, body and soul, right back into the fires of hell, to swim once more through a sea formed from the blood of warriors and civilians, manipulators and masses, guilty and innocents alike. But even as he uttered the incantation and wove the mana he'd gathered, he already knew that was most likely going to be precisely his fate. And just as he had on the killing field of Valeria, he already knew he would undoubtedly embrace those fires yet again... however much the darkest parts of himself rebelled against the vicious, futile cycle of it all, this charade where he time and time again tried to use a power so clearly meant to destroy in order to defend and preserve. But he would carry on, in spite of them.

For, those were the parts that Stellio had grown to know best, over the decades... for it is the arguments you despise most which you should listen the closest to.

"Ripple ye forth in waves of darkness," The terror knight declared, flinging a hand skyward and unleashing the woven mana up to the heavens. Like a million brilliant fireworks, it erupted before his head, an ominous, black sigil forming as the energy dispersed into thick black tendrils that seemed to suck the very light from the world around him "steal five temples of the soul, to bind them in your blindness!"

And as quickly as it had formed, the sigil was gone, and in the distance a wave of violet, lightning like energy flowed over the Man-Pig abomination, as Stellio focused his arcane might on slowing the beast down...

Stellio Runs Away, then he spends 10mp to cast Paralytic Wave against Roadhog, and only Roadhog!

((Stellio will gain [+2] to his check roll on Paralytic Wave, due to "Ring of the Mind"))

Leo of course notices his doombot has remained behind and had its leg blown off. FUCK this is why he wanted to look through its systems before they left!
"MOVE IT YOU STUPID ROBOT! DO YOU HAVE SCRAP FOR BRAINS!? GRAB YOUR LEG AND GET OVER HERE! CRAWL IF YOU HAVE TO!"

He wants to stop and help but...well, as snow puts it...

"EVERYTHING WE NEED MY ASS!" They were quite lacking in the "golem army" department at the moment. Still maybe if he could get far enough away, He could assist from range. so Leo and frost brute keep running.

Nader heard and felt shrapnel ping off of the backplate of his Tiger Armor, and indeed he found, once again, a deep and beautiful appreciation for the work he'd put into it that right now pretty much exceeded words. So, instead of words, he let out a scream and proceeded to continue to run as fast as he could away from the gigantic horrible hook pigman. That running was tragically slow, but considering that he DIDN'T have big holes in his back right now, that was maybe an okay tradeoff. It just meant he had to keep running!

Nader barely registered that apparently there was a machine gun on his back now, but he really couldn't be angry about evidently having yet another gun -- because having more guns solves an awful lot of things.

Nader just keeps on running!

Lucine took a quick, but measured glance over her shoulder, eyes flicking between her entrapped teammates, the fantastically obese man, and then down at her own weapons, before her now-steely gaze swung forward as she continued to put distance between herself and the monster chasing them.

Sha'Tith decides that honor dispute or not he isn't getting any closer to that thing.  He'd already seen enough people trampled by the black beast to know better.

So instead with startling efficiency he rolled several small boulders in-between Freya and the beast, then spat more flame at it.

Main action: Sha'Tith uses "Lemurian Borrowing" putting 90kg([Str]*15) of rock wall between Freya and Roadhog, the wall has 90 HP and 5 Res, activates Barbed Wire dealing 1d2 Pure damage to Roadhog.

FREE action: Flame breath on Roadhog, dealing 2d6+3 fire damage.

Flee the Hog!

A shot rings out like a crack of thunder, a contrail stretching from somewhere in the distance to Roadhog's crotch.  The towering man groans in pain, and Aquila can hear something metallic deform and crack under the force of the shot.  It seems Roadhog was wearing a cup, was being the operative word here.  Nader, Contagion, Vitor, and Alan instinctively flinch at the unmistakable sound of a high-caliber sniper rifle.

Contaigion gasses Roadhog, dealing 7 poison damage and inflicting the debuff Toxified.

Aquila slams the hilt of his flail into Roadhog's groin, right at the point of impact where what he thinks might be some kind of magic arrow struck, dealing 16 damage.  The enormously fat man groans, flinches, and stumbles, freeing Aquila.

Deranged laughter echoes over the battlefield, and a thin, hunchbacked man absolutely covered in grenades jumps up on top of a nearby roof.  "Callin in reinforcements on my pal Roadie?  That ain't sportsmanlike!"  He shouts in a thin, reedy voice.  "Ordinarily I'd give you a red card for that, but it seems I'm all out.  Guess I'll have to blow you up instead!  Ahahahahaha!"  He barrages everyone 1 block away with grenades, dealing 12 damage to them (before resistance).  Most of the people in the area take heavy hits, but Nader's armor almost completely protects him, and Ena's armor completely protects her.  Leo's Doombot is reduced to scrap.  Blue Occultist takes no damage, but is hit.

Vitor applies sentry turrets to Aquila and to Alan's Doombot.  Vitor regenerates 1 HP.  4/10 Ultimate Charge.

Spoiler

Vitor brings Sentry Turret, Marathon Runner, Passive Shielding, Ultimate Meter, and Phantasmal Blueprint - Gae Bolg.

Something arcs from the mysterious sniper's position and latches onto Roadhog's chest before spraying silky, silver threads all over him and his surroundings, the threads missing Aquila by inches.  The threads are apparently quite sticky, and have momentarily immobilized the massive New Zealander.

With a roar of rage and pain, Roadhog tears off the webbing!

Alan runs for his life, alongside the surviving Doombot.

Leo orders his Doombot to run, and follows his own advice.  The Doombot, being a smoking wreck, fails to respond.

Leo's frost brute runs away.

Sha'Tith creates a wall between Roadhog and the group (HP 90/90, Res 5), and uses his barbed wire and fire breath to deal 13 damage to Roadhog!

Contagion shoots at Roadhog with his assault rifle, dealing 8 damage with the first shot, 8 damage with the second shot, and missing the 3rd shot.

Aquila takes his chance to run for it!  Whoever that archer is, he could kiss them!  Or at least take them out for a beer.  ...Maybe best to see them before offering to make out.

Vitor runs for it!

The mysterious sniper takes a shot at Junkrat, winging his ear!

Lucine runs for it!

Freya runs for it!

Ena runs for it!

With a scream of stark terror, Junkrat dives off the house, eyes comically wide.  If he wasn't trying to kill you, it'd be hilarious.

Blue Occultist siezes control of the icefire and pushes it off Aquila onto the ground behind him as he runs.

Roadhog pulls a can from his bandolier and pours it into a nozzle in his mask.  Noxious fluid and gas gushes down his face and his wounds close instantly, the bullets pushed out of his belly by some internal force.

Nader runs for his life!

Stelio runs for his life!

Stelio attempts to paralyze Roadhog!  13 vs 11 success!  Roadhog is paralyzed.

Alan realized that he was currently in a position where it would be absolutely hilarious for him to suddenly fail by getting pulled back by the Roadhog somehow. And so this is why he ordered his DOOMBOT to run up behind him in a vain attempt to have a piece of cover to hide from certain death...although a tiny part of him did note that there was still nothing preventing him from getting shot in the crotch area by a sniper or blown up to nothing but chunky salsa.

"You will need more than simple grenades to destroy me." It was entirely unclear to whom Ena was addressing this, as she spoke at her standard volume. Not quite a mutter, but not really loud enough for the crazy genadier to hear, even if he hadn't jumped from the rooftop.

Ena continues to run.

Freya doesn't even stop to think about the sniper shots, instead choosing to keep running!

Loudout

Spoiler

The CRACK of a high-caliber sniper rifle, perhaps predictably, drew a quick "FUCK!" from the paranoid armored man's lips, and in fact it very nearly caused him to dive to the ground out of instinct. Two things stopped him: first of all, if he did dive to the ground he would quite possibly not at all be better off, and he'd have a hard time getting up to keep escaping the terrifying obese man, and secondly, when he turned his head to look, he saw that evidently the sniper had just shot the fat pig guy. And then took some more shots at their enemies. Therefore, while a probable .50 cal sniper rifle was still terrifying, it was significantly less so in this case.

Him being turned to look also resulted in him witnessing the massive grenade attack, the wall of force that forced him to stagger a couple of steps backwards and that was a huge burst of light and sound. Nader could feel that maybe he'd wrenched his shoulder slightly awkwardly, but to be frank he was for all practical purposes unharmed. He couldn't say the same about the rest of the team. Almost everyone else, from the 12-year-old girl to the knight and the damned lizardman, was bleeding and/or burned. In that moment, Nader came to the realization that whereas he could probably handle some attention from the explosive man (even if his armor wasn't designed to counter high explosives), the others couldn't, and they were in trouble. Nader muttered a long "Fuuuuuuuckkkkk," to himself just for emphasis.

Then he extended his left arm, straightening it fully and slightly turning his wrist so there was a click, moved his head towards the inner side of his arm so that he could approximate his shot near where he thought the explosive-tossing guy was located, adjusted his aim, moved back, and--

BOOM

--the heavy report of a large, .60 cal rifle rang out as Nader fired his Horsekiller, a massive bullet flying towards the house his target had taken cover behind, the rifle sliding down the rail on his arm until with another soft click a round was pressed into the breech, and the sound undoubtedly catching some attention.

Nader fires his Horsekiller 1935R at Junkrat, which does 3d6+9 damage with a 10% chance to miss, activating his No Silencers Here perk which forces Junkrat to attack him next turn!

Spoiler

Rabid Tiger Infantry Armor: +6 RES, +2 Action Slots for guns of at least rifle size
     (Horsekiller 1935R: 3d6+3+DEX[+STR w/ perk] damage, 10% miss chance
      M3 Sorraia: 2/3*(2d6+DEX[+STR w/ perk]) damage)
Mk. 2 Osprey: 2d6+DEX damage, enemies must beat damage dealt with a dex chance or have dodge chance annulled

Heavy Metal Blow: 2d8+STR damage with armor and heavy gun.

Sha'Tith jumped some when the sniper shots rang out, he threw his hands over his head and stooped low(as if that would help), he held a look on his face similar to that of the rat-man's and after a second or two of near panic he made up his mind.

He squatted down and began rapidly clawing at the dirt, within three seconds nothing but he end of his tail could be seen slithering into the hole.  As he dug away from the man-beast he left a trail of split and cracked earth above, like some sort of terrifying prehistoric worm creature.

Sha'Tith uses Lemurian Burrowing to go underground and run from the Roadhog, while terrified of the sniper, Barbed Wire activates dealing 1d2 pure damage to Roadhog and Junkrat.
