Francis rubs his chin. A problem this indeed was, for what could he offer that they might find... exotic enough a payment? After a few moments to consider, he reaches into his coat and pulls out what appears to be alligator skin, though shiny and grey with some dents in the more scalelike parts of it. "What do you think of this? It's Cybergator skin. Infused with nanites to be nearly as strong as steel, while still being nice and flexible. Usually I use it when clients want a limb that's still got some feel to it but either want extra protection or just think it looks cool."

Francis looks around, his eyes adjusting to the various sights slowly. After a few moments he turns to the fungimancers. After a few more moments he shakes himself out of the trance their fungus put him under to finally speak. "Whoa.... What is this stuff? And if you have extra could I have some to take with? I could see this being useful for for some experiments..."

Rory The snake faunus nods, before sighing. "Rory Gilroy. Well, my group set up camp down that way. It's the area with the newly crashed train. If any of you guys want to talk to us that's the best place to check." Joan and Dani Dani takes a step back as Joan flies into his hand in weapon form. He takes a knee as he activates his soul sight, trying to get an idea of what they're dealing with.

Arminius nods. "Yeah.... Anyway, I'm going to go find the others and try to stay out of trouble... Who am I kidding, we're just going to get into trouble someplace else." Arminius chuckles to himself before clearing his throat. "Really though, thanks for the help. If you ever need some help you can count on me." With that, Arminius starts heading off to find the rest of the group.

Mercy merely raises an eyebrow at the lopping off of an unfortunate bug's arm. By his reckoning they likely died of shock before they hit the ground. A shame, but he'd seen it before. Move to D9.

Dani and Joan Dani and Joan, not wanting to stay in the area very long for obvious reasons, decides to head for the place that seems least likely to get them in trouble, the Human Village. Rory Rory nods and prepares to walk off, before pausing and turning back to the cat. "I don't suppose you have a phone or... some other way to contact you.... Also, I never asked your name did I?"

Dani and Joan Dani nods. "Alright, well, thanks for the directions. Maybe we'll meet up later if the stars align but... well, this place kind of looks like a bummer to be in, no offense." Dani holds out a hand for Joan to return to weapon mode, which she does with a twirl before being shouldered by her wielder. Assuming the girl didn't have anything else for them to respond to, the pair started heading down the road they were directed towards and hopefully to their ultimate destination. Jack nods. "Oh for sure, but our main gunner had plenty of incentive, on account of the threat of fire. Tell ya what, you'll never find a better shot than Peter "Wooden Legs"!" Jack says with a laugh.

Jack is silent for a few moments before clapping. "Ah, it's because the wood was still soaked from being in the water! Made it so that it wouldn't ignite near as fast, but every gout of fire made dryer so it was a race against time to kill Firefang!"

Jack nods. "So we got this distress call from a little port town on some other world back in time, like around the age of vikings..." Jack regales Zoe with the definitely true tale of how he and his brave crew slew an army of dragons threatening the world, lead by the seemingly unstoppable warlord Firefang! It had been an uphill struggle, battling their way through The Mountain Fortress of the Inferno Peaks, The Enterprise bombarding the dragons and leading the charge, while Jack snuck in through the caves below the mountains. He eventually reached the throne room, where he lured out Firefang

Jack jumps at the thud, having been caught up in the talk of piracy and generally not expecting that. He quickly recovers and turns to listen to Zoe read off the note. With a nod he whistles for the crew to get the crate down to one of the spare rooms on the ship. "I'll have Surgeon John get it set up when he's done mounting our new figurehead.... Oh yeah, you weren't around to see that whole ordeal. You wanna hear about it?" Jack points to the dragon's head currently being mounted to the front of the ship as he mentions the ordeal.

Jack nods. "Gods, ain't that the truth. You wouldn't believe how many crews just hand over their cargo when we fly the colors and start approaching.... I would, because I used to just be a sailor, but a lot of the new blood we get always seems surprised at how easy it is." Jack says matter of factly.

Jack smirks. "I won't say that I'm a saint, but I like to think I'm one of the more squeaky clean pirates.... Also I don't think I got that joke, sorry." Jack smiles apologetically as he scratches the back of his head.

Jack shrugs. "If we're acquiring your ship, it'll be because we scraped together the coin to get 'er fixed. I may be a pirate, but the only disloyalty I actively pursue are towards the crown and all others that would hold people like me down!" Jack poses for a second with his hands on his hips before deflating slightly and clearing his throat. "Sorry, I lose myself a bit when I get started going like that. Doubt you think I really believe that anyhow."

Jack pats Zoe's back with a sympathetic smile. He looks out over the void of space before turning back to the woman. "Tell ya what, if we ever st- "acquire" a new ship, I'd be willing to let you captain The Enterprise!"

Jack smiles with a nod at the mention of his ship's "quirks". "Aye, I've heard of the massive beasts of metal they have in the future. I love my ship of course, but it'd be hard to contend with a ship big enough to launch smaller air ships any day.... As for the ship, if you want to be official she's "The Free Enterprise". But personally, I just call her "The Enterprise"." Jack smiles happily as if recalling a nostalgic memory.

Arminius raises an eyebrow at the changes to Piglet. He inspects the gremlin for a bit before shrugging, mostly to himself. And mumbling something Alphys can't quite catch beyond "... Such a low amount of willpower." Finally, he turns back to Alphys. "Horrifying, as unlikely it is that it'll ever happen to either of us. Still, I'd call this a success. Is there anything else I should test or should we call this good and probably never mention that incident again?"

Jack was on his own ship, arranging with the carpenter/surgeon to get the dragon's head attached to the bow of the shit to act as a figurehead, much to the chagrin of the long haired man. There's some gawking and startled shouts from the crew as Stella decides to take a little flight around the Hyperion ship, but Jack is quick to get them back to work. He himself did pause to look at the ship though, mostly because he realized they should probably find some way to communicate between them.

Dani and Joan Joan gives her a thumbs up as she looks for something to poke at the fire with, before giving up and going back over to Dani. She leans on him heavily, but after the initial budge the meister seems to ignore it. "Well, if it's not a bad time, it would be nice to have a guide out of here and to... wherever it is those other guys went. I'm gonna be honest, Lord Death kind of... dropped this case in our laps and we only got some explanation after arriving. But yeah, any help getting where we should be would be great." Francis eyes the brew for a few moments, before looking around. Seeing as no one seemed to be too... affected by it, and besides, it'd be rude to refuse a free sample! "Well, I was supposed to be doing something, but if you're offering I might as well!"

Mercy rubbed his chin at the news. This... "writing" did sound interesting. A method of putting language into a more permanent form would likely be of great help for a lot of things, like keeping bodies easy to identify, or keeping records of what wounds a soldier had taken.... He'd have to request a demonstration from Brilliant Deduction if there was a chance later.

Rory The faunus looks a bit confused at that last part, but eventually nods. Sounds like he hit the nail right on the head with his assessment. "It's definitely possible...
