I second that. Tortunator as well, and it's also available quite early

Update #18 Wow, I managed to beat the scariest part of Reborn. The rest of E18 should be easy now, haha. Since I made some minor changes regarding hold items and moves, here’s an overview of my team for the Glass Factory Gauntlet. As always I used my favorite strategy for Double Battles: Leave weak mons alive and gang up on the other one. Ribombee in battle #1, and Clefable in battle #3, aren’t very strong, in fact they’re the weakest mons of their trainer’s team. As soon as one side is taken care of, it’s basically a 2 on 1 and the rest of the battle becomes really easy. Battle VS: Cain and Shelly After completely failing several times I got the hang of the first battle and made it through pretty fast. Battle VS: Mysterious Figure #1 But getting through the second fight without losing a pokemon was a real headache, because Gothitelle’s Shadow Tag would doom whichever pokemon was battling at the moment. I restarted the gauntlet so I could give Azumarill a Lax Incense to make Absol and Gothitelle miss some attacks. And when it finally happened, they made it even easier for me by boosting themselves instead of attacking. Battle VS: Mysterious Figures #2 & #3 Same strategy as in battle #1, but they were kinda stronger than Cain and Shelly so it was much harder to pull off this time. If not for those misses thanks to the Lax Incense, it might’ve become a much closer fight. Only a little bit left now.

Pulse Tangrowth is easy to defeat with either Kricketune or a poison type that knows Acid Spray like Trubbish or Gulpin. Sorry to hear that. Although it's generally a good training spot, you just got unlucky with the timing. Their levels are adjusted to the number of badges you possess, so if you go there right after beating a gym, chances are their teams will now be stronger than the gym leader. Also the guy with the Drifloon you battled is probably one of the stronger trainers that appear in Grand Hall. On weekends a lot of trainers are there, not just one, so if you change your PCs date to a Saturday or Sunday you could battle them everyday. Especially one couple that you fight in a Double Battle has a Chansey and is good for grinding. But I guess that the best one depends on how fast you can defeat them, and if none work you'll have to make do with wild battles.

Wormadam is a better Steel type for early game in my opinion. You can catch Burmy if you Headbutt the trees in the little garden with Bug pokemon in Lower Peridot. Just make sure it's the correct form before evolving it, need to fight in the alleys or in Grand Hall to make it Steel type.

Hi and welcome! :) If you're interested in other fan games, there's lots of good ones you can find on this forum (under Developing Games) as there are a good amount of people presenting their own fan games here. One on the same level of quality to Reborn I would recommend is Rejuvenation, There's other pretty good ones from what I've read, but haven't gotten to play them yet myself.

There are trainers in the Grand Hall who can always be battled, much faster than training against wild pokemon, plus you get money. The starters are all good, none of them will give you a disadvantage, so choose the one you like. Kricketune is very good early in the game, you can get Kricketoot before the first gym from a NPC in a house in Lower Peridot Ward. Try to get one with Technician if possible. When there's a thunderstorm as the current weather, you can find Tynamo in the alley right next to the house where you can get the Kricketoot. Put it in the daycare until you get a Thunderstone and can evolve it and you'll have a really strong Electric type very early on. You might be able to fully evolve it around as early as the fourth gym. The arcade in Onyx Ward sells pretty good pokemon. If you're patient enough to play Voltorb flip, you can buy Shinx, Slugma or a male Nidoran. Another two very strong pokemon that are available very early are linked to the missing policemen quest after the second badge. If you find them all, you can get a Growlithe from the police. If you then breed an Growlithe egg and take it back to the police station, you can trade it for a random egg which contains one of 18 very strong pokemon. Also try collecting the Department Stickers to get access to as many floors in the Department store in Obsidia Ward as possible. They sell Power Items for EV training very early, and on the second floor I believe you can buy Metronome's, which are very good Items to have at this early point in the game.

About the Voltorb situation, what I can think of is that: 1. Sometimes, when a pokemon is damaged, the HP bar lags a little at the last HPs that go down. For example, at first it looks like it stops at 28 HP, but 1-2 seconds later it jumps to 26 HP. Maybe you didn't notice because you thought it stopped at 28 HP and looked away. 2. Voltorb can have the ability Aftermath, which deals 25% damage to the attacker if its defeated by a physical move. If you hit the Voltorb with a physical move, after it hit you with 2 Sonic Booms, which would leave you with 6 HP, then Aftermath would deal another 11 or 12 HP damage (don't know if it's rounded up or down) and kill your Frogadier. 3. When playing while the game is sped up, game animations can sometimes become less smooth, which would increase the chance of the HP bar lagging. Also, messages during battle will disappear so fast that it's easy to miss something. The message of Aftermath activating might have appeared, but disappeared too fast for you to notice, making it look like the extra damage was caused by that Sonic Boom.

You could at least train your Klang up to 49 to evolve it. It would be helpful to get more details on the course of the battle, like how do you start, which pokemon can you take out easily, which are a problem to you, etc.. Because as I see it, most of your pokemon seem to have an advantage against Sirius' pokemon, so it shouldn't be too hard for you. Maybe try out alternative ways on how to start the fight, and see if the battle proceeds differently. Or consider EV training if you haven't done so already.

- What led you to Pokemon Reborn? Long ago I just coincidentally stumbled upon pokemon fan games on the net, I didn't even know they existed. From then I started searching for good ones to play because I've replayed the official ones several times so I got bored of them. Had long breaks inbetween playing pokemon games several times, like for months or years I didn't play anything pokemon related. Stumbled upon Reborn by coincidence over a year ago and immediately noticed how much better it is compared to all the other fangames I tried out before. Since then I haven't really looked for other fan games to play since I was more than content with this one. The only one I played after that was Rejuvenation, because it mentioned to be inspired by Reborn, so I expected an experience similar to Reborn, - What do you think about the battle system in the game? The field effects make the game much more interesting and realistic by adding interactions with the environment, so I really like this aspect. Additionally it increases the difficulty by making the opponents' teams synergize with the field you're fighting them on. Giving them competitive strategies makes the game more difficult as well, but only in combination with field effects does it become a real challenge in my opinion. So what hooked me were not the field effects themselves, but rather the high difficulty. Finally, a pokemon game that actually requires you to use strategic thinking, Pokemon is a strategy based RPG after all. Official games don't pose any real challenge, it's very boring and unsatisfying to beat a game when you're just mindlessly pressing A and don't have to think at all. And I'm sure lots of pokemon fans feel this way as well. - What do you think about the stories/narrative in the game? The game has an enthralling story, and I especially like that it has lots of drama and characters with complex personalities and relationships. And having to make choices that can influence your own relationship to the characters and even change the course of events makes you feel more invested in the story. I like how I had to think properly about my actions and the consequences, asking myself if what I chose to do was the right thing or not, feeling either satisfaction or regret. By the way, this reminds me of how this kind of thing is very prevalent in Undertale, although on a much grander scale. It's incredible how it gets you thinking and feeling like this when it's "just a game". - In particular, what do you think about the queer characters in the game, like Cain and Adrienn? To me they're normal people, just like any other, I don't really think of them as special or different from the other characters, so I don't care about their querness or however it's called. But I really like upstanding people with a good heart, so despite his constant sexual innuendos being kinda annoying and immature, Cain is one of my favorite characters. It's admirable how worried he was for Heather, a stranger to him at that time. He helped as much as he could to rescue and protect the children: at the orphanage, when he went off on his own towards Apophyll to get TMX Strength as fast as possible so we could get to the Yureyu building, when getting to Chrysolia, etc.. He's accompanied the player for the longest and helped against Team Meteor the most. As for Adrienn, my impression of him is that he's dutiful and stays true to his convictions. He can't accept what's become of Reborn City and does his best to change things for the better. So I do like his character as well, even though we don't have that much to do with him in the story. I'm in my master thesis right now as well, so I tried answering as detailed as possible, I hope this helps you. Good luck with your master thesis.

Why wouldn't they when there's so much bad stuff happening? Children on the run, chased by terrorists, people are dying. That's a completely normal reaction in my opinion, much more realistic than the super optimistic "I'll never give up!"", ""We can do this", "Let's save everyone!" platitudes that are just thrown around in some stories and then everything ends well just because they believe in friendship. Reborn/Rejuv are targeted towards more mature people, so they gonna be more realistic. They have more drama, their characters have much more personality than any other from official games, their stories are much better overall. And sometimes feelings can just be very complex, making it hard to understand others. Don't worry, you'll get used to it

Update #17 Right after Titania it's Amaria's turn. My team was well suited against hers, so the fight was pretty easy. At least it was in Singles. I tried battling her in Doubles before, but she totally destroyed me with Surf spam Battle VS: Amaria Next up will be the Glass Factory

Happens sometimes. Got really unlucky once as well and had ten boxes full before getting a perfect one, but usually it takes only a day. So don't get discouraged or angry over this.

Update #16 The next update is finally ready. It took a long time to explore the desert and beat Titania. Also fought Taka when I arrived in the desert, but the battle entailed lots of stalling, so it’s quite boring. Here it is, nevertheless. Battle VS: Taka Titania, on the other hand, was absolutely frustrating, I kept losing for days. At first it seemed like an easy fight, but then the AI suddenly started doing random stuff that totally threw me off and which made predicting her moves very difficult. Will-o-Wisp and Reflect were basically key to victory. Not only do they decrease the damage, they also force the AI to use Swords Dance, which, in turn, I can predict and abuse to easily defeat threats like Excadrill and Scizor by using Foul Play directly afterwards. After a while though the AI started using Swords Dance or damaging moves irregularly, not at the moments it usually did, which is what I meant by the AI becoming unpredictable. Battle VS: Titania I gave Kecleon a Quick Claw so it can outspeed Sandslash. Later against Scizor I swapped it out cause even with Fire Punch it only does a third of its total HP (changed to Fire+Dragon type), and Foul Play was my only other way of defeating it. Luckily Scizor used two Swords Dances so it could one-hit KO Sableye, which it needed due to Reflect. If it had gone for Bullet Punch after only one Swords Dance, it would’ve been able to survive one Foul Play and kill Sableye on the following turn, likely leading to a loss for me. At the end against Aegislash instead of using Protect on the first turn I misclicked I felt so anxious because it took me three days to get this far and now it looked like I’d lose due to my stupid mistake. Luckily it still worked out.

You don't need to replace anyone, your team is good as it is. Tanks are more about being good at defense, not which types you have. Even if two mons have the same type, that shouldn't be a problem. But I understand not wanting that, and I agree to what others already said about Ground types being a good fit as your last member, but you also don't have any Ground resistance. Umbreon and Gardevoir have a good SpDefense, so I suggest a good physical tank that's either Ground type: Hippowdon, Mudsdale, Steelix or Torterra, which is also resistant to Ground; or something that has Flying type/Levitate to be completely immune to Ground, like Bronzong, Skarmory, Rotom or Gliscor (which is Ground as well, so I guess this would be a really good fit).
-
I also think that it sounded very obvious that it's referring to Vitus and Nymiera. It has been a while since I've played Rejuv, but didn't Nymiera herself say that it was her and Vitus?
-
It's better to have one, because some opponents' pokemon are too fast and they kill you in one hit, especially those with much higher levelled mons, so you need something to tank them. But I'd recommend having both types: Something very bulky, but also really fast ones like Lycanroc, Crobat, Weavile, Jolteon or Noivern, so you can outspeed some dangerous mons. Good defensive ones are Cofagrigus, Ferrothorn, Bronzong, Dusclops/Dusknoir or Toxapex. Those with only one high defense value can be good as well since their respective stat can be much higher than of most other tanks, but you'll have to use them against the right opponent only. For example many Rock and Steel types have a very high physical defense, so you should only use them against physical attackers. Many important trainers have balanced teams though, so you'll have to predict their moves; but tanks specialized in one defense stat can be very hard to kill if played right. Also make sure that it's type combination gives it lots of resistances. Steel has by far the most, so they take less damage from most attacks and generally make for excellent tanks. In my opinion it's much better to have a balance between offense and defense, but in the end it's up to you and your playstyle which kind of fighting style you prefer.

It's a reward for beating Radomus now. @Tiz If you go back to the Railnet and explore it, you'll find a Key. Bring it back to the woman in Onyx Ward who can't get into her house, it will unlock the Move Relearner. She can teach your pokemon good moves, which costs a Heart Scale per move.
-
The game basically already works like the first option of reset after death: whenever you lose a battle you have to start over. So I'd be more interested in the second option as well.
-
I think there's one gang member in Lapis Ward near Shelly's gym who you need to talk to, not in 7th street
-
you can't, it's entirely decided by your choice in the WTC

Is there a way to Fly back to Eclysia Pyramid??
Edo replied to Sprit's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Discussions
yes, you can fly there directly -
Tip for the future: Don't teach your pokemon only damaging moves, use some Status moves as well. Especially in difficult games, where strategy is important, it will make your life much easier. Generally it's possible to predict what the AI is gonna do. When your opponent is on very low health, always expect that they might use a potion. Seems random sometimes since they're not always healing, but you should always keep that in mind before carelessly using Sucker Punch or a weak move because it "would do enough at this point". If possible, always go for the move that's overkill just to be sure. Also I believe that the AI prefers to use a Potion when they know that your current mon needs several hits to defeat theirs. If you need only one or two hits they're unlikely to heal up, so you could gamble on that sometimes. If the AI knows they can't kill you in one hit, and that they can live a hit from you as well, then they usually go for boosting moves if they have any. Raichu not using Nasty Plot might be either because you used a mon that was able to kill it in one hit, or because your mon wouldn't be able to survive so the AI opted for finishing you off rather than giving you time for a move. If you repeat certain situations in the battle you can try to learn what the AI does in that exact moment and prepare for next time by choosing an advantageous action. Noivern's Hurricane and Simipour's Surf are boosted on Electric Terrain, so if Arclight activates it you can use it yourself. Try teaching someone Bulldoze, I think Arcanine can learn it. It's also really bulky, so it should survive a hit from Ampharos and deal good damage. Scrafty with High Jump Kick might be good against it as well.

Update #15 This time it's Adrienn's turn. This battle was sooo difficult that it took me two days to win. And when I finally beat Adrienn I noticed I wasn't even recording, so I had to try again for just as long Anyway, here's the battle: Battle VS: Adrienn The main problem was Mawile, which easily oneshots everything unless I put up Reflect. And Tailwind. Togedemaru and Dugtrio getting outsped always led to a loss. This time I was really lucky that Togekiss used Dazzling Gleam instead of Aura Sphere, or else Togedemaru wouldn't have survived. And tricking the AI into using Earthquake to take out Mawile by itself probably was the most vital part to victory.
