  1. Ah, so your grass monorun was a randomizer run? One question though: you do actually get more choices in the non-randomized run, right? Either way, I'm not sure about this: I'm tending more to the non-randomized. And yes, I'll not make that mistake, thanks for the heads up
  2. Too much gorgeousness for my eyes... in any case, good luck! I'd have thought that you'd have all the girls swooning over your gorgeousness, but it seems not, it looks like your character's the only one who considers himself gorgeous, while noone else seems to think so. Kind of a running gag, I guess xD
  3. I've just planned to do a monorun in Reborn Hardcore, which I've never done before. If you're feeling up to it, go for another type run (in Hardcore)! If you don't want to do a monotype, try doing something else which you feel like doing.
  4. Some of you may already seen my Grass monorun, which begs the question: why this? Well, to put it simply, I didn't want people stealing this opportunity from me! xD It seems like there's a monorun of each and every type as of now - and I was quite upset by that, especially because my favorite dark type was no longer available for me to do. (I guess I could have done it, but it's not as fun when I'm reading another run that basically tell me how to defeat particular gyms). But it turns out that it was a blessing in disguise, since it gave me an opportunity to do something I've never tried before - the Hardcore Mod, with the CoM version enabled: Now I know this may be incredibly difficult, but I do consider myself experienced enough in Reborn to ascend to something of greater difficulty. I have heard that this mod also offers a greater variety of Pokemon to choose from, so it allows for a lot more strategic play. I'm really excited to do this, so I'll be leaving a poll up above to gather interest: if you're interested in this, please vote in the poll. I will start this either on completion of my Grass Monorun, or if I get bored of it (pray this doesn't happen), or if people demand that this must be started without delay (pray that this does happen).
  5. I still don't understand how her Frost Breaths do so much damage to steel types - also Bennett. Seriously, the boss trainer pokemon are on steroids.
  6. I like dunsparce because everybody dislikes dunsparce, 'coz i like liking things that other people don't like. >:D There's only word to describe me <- a troll. Tralala
  7. PART 9: Sigmund, Bennett and the Ice Model Serra! Last time the pictures were a pain to screenshot and upload and were also the cause of major confusions. So like always, I'll be copying @Jess and using videos for the main battles. Alright, let's get to it. First thing to do once we're done with Aya is to meet up with Cain in the abandoned Railnet. From there we take the single available path open to us, to the Yureyu Building. After double-battling our way through there (and Cain graciously healing us up each time no matter how stupid we are), we come across the doctor himself! PS: Apologies about the videos first-hand, I was playing at night so I had the volume muted. I really don't like the Yureyu music very much. N-n-not that I was scared, seriously! VS. Sigmund Connal Pretty easy battle, and victory on the first and second try (I recorded the second try only) Well, we save the damn kids, fix up the railroads and finally get access to the Move Tutor! We also gain a temporary home in a Hidden Cove, residence of the sisters (this seems eerie, but I don't really know their second names). We're asked to go get medicine as well, because that's what we are - slaves to kids' desires, so we head on over to Spinel Town. In the process, I meet and train up a couple new, very strong members: Finally, a Stealth Rock setter! I traded over my Armaldo from my main game and bred it with another Cradily to get this grill, hopefully she does well! Probably my Grassy Terrain setter for this gym, Jumpluff will be quite difficult to use here... My nicknames are getting worse as the series progresses... Anyways, as we all know for a long time, Spinel Town has been experiencing very strange phenomenons (which we later find out the cause for, of course). After helping a random lady with her things and getting an EXP Share and a Good Rod, we head on over to the Voclain Estate, home to gym leader Serra and her socially awkward kid, Bennett. This guy... anyways, more definitely shady characters walk in and say random stuff that is not important for now, so let's go get our next badge! Bennett jumps in on us though, and challenges us to a battle with his unfairly advantaged bug-types, also unfair because of the stupid field effects. It doesn't help that all his mons are super fast as well, confusing and critical hitting all over the place. Apparently he "requests" battles with all his mother's challengers? What a fucking annoying piece of -gah. VS. Bennett This battle took me like 3 tries, I think, thanks to Jumpluff confusing and hitting itself 3 times in a row. I also completely forgot to Ability Capsule Cradily, which would've made this battle a hell of a lot easier. Anyways, down to the gym badge, finally! No interruptions this time! I didn't get ones that I thought I'd use - Sawsbuck: it has pretty weak Sp. Defense and needs chlorophyll to be at its prime; Leafeon: not fast enough and lacks coverage; Roserade: makes the gym too easy sometimes, teaching it Nature Power --> Mirror Shot outsped and oneshotted almost all of her mons when I tried her, but ended up in her leveling up all the way to 52. GYM #8 - vs. SERRA Cacturne is the MVP. I made a couple of heavy misplays here, I think they're fairly evident and don't need mentioning. However, I will mention that I stupidly forgot that bringing in Aurorus cancelled out my rain which I totally forgot about, and I expected Ludicolo to move first like always. The Revive on Breloom tho... *shakes head sadly* I was stupidly lucky with the last Sucker Punch, despite the double evasion by Frosslass, as the first couple of times, I missed 3 TIMES IN A ROW against Jynx, so I was already like "This is gonna miss" One of the hardest battles I've had yet, since the ZEL+Taka team up. On most occasions, Nature Power --> Mirror Shot would keep missing and not getting reflected for some reason, while hers would 100% of the time hit or reflect on to my mons with increased power. Missing for her = increased power, yay. Also didn't help that the team I used to take her were mostly physical mons, so not only would I miss out on a huge chance while missing, recoil damage would be significant as well. I wonder if anybody has experimented with High Jump Kick in this field? *shudders* Anyways, that's it for this part, I'll hopefully cover enough till Noel in the next part? Let's see. Thank you for watching/reading!
  8. You could say the same about Skrelp on Corey's gym in Reborn. The thing's so weak, I set up 4 growths on Roselia and swept her entire team except for Crobat, thanks to it outspeeding. Skrelp doesn't even know Acid Spray, which makes it so much easier to set up and sweep against it. I completely disagree with your first statement about Reborn/Rejuvenation though, Reborn's plot makes me want more, more, more while Rejuvenation kinda goes on the "meh" side. It's probably because of the multitude of characters in Rejuv, and it ended up with me not caring for any of their motivations. I couldn't even get myself to play on after Eric's badge, it got seriously boring
  9. The only problem with Greninja, in Reborn is not getting a lot of TMs for him to abuse Protean. He gets very solid late-game though. Blaziken is stupidly OP from the start.
  10. Dang I totally wanted to do a dark monorun as well but I guess I can't complain about this one (dark is my favorite type as well) Anyways, good luck with your run! I absolutely love Greninja
  11. "They don't seem to like each other very much" just means the chance of having an egg hatched with each step is reduced, you'll still get it, don't worry Just run around a bit more than usual. What I do is hop on the bike (or running shoes) and run all the way through Opal Ward up to the entrance to Jasper Ward in Peridot Ward and back to the daycare. By then your Milotic with Dragon Breath should have hatched
  12. Nooo greninja is best, fite me I have to admit that Blaziken shines better ingame although
  13. Oh, I like this sort of thing, go for it! Some of the less-used mons I really like, do consider them: Escavalier (Super tanky, only 1 weakness, super strong - best run under trick room, and has access to Swords Dance through level up) Gogoat (Bulky setup sweeper) Shedinja can get some interesting positions on a team depending on the enemy Lanturn Magcargo Sawsbuck Edit: Oh, and Cacturne has been thoroughly amazing throughout my grass mono with Spikes, Spiky Shield and Sucker Punch, winning almost all my major battles for me. Underrated as hell
  14. Just spent 2 hours dealing with Serra on my Grass monotype until I finally lucked out and won. Not happy with the way I won because I made so many stupid mistakes, but no way am I going through that again

Well, that makes it sound a lot better :)

  15. Can't wait to see how it goes! So what starter are you planning on beginning with?
  16. Yes, you did say that, I in fact was about to mention you but it must have slipped my mind. A Ferrothorn would help me so much, especially in the upcoming gym...
  17. It's at times like these I realize how stupid I am. Of course, the terrain, they're what that have been carrying me through this! Thank you
  18. PART 8: Meteor Shenanigans and Gym Leader Aya Well, another rescue mission. Let's go find Cain! We reach Azurine Island, and: Just in time before a couple of boss battles. VS. ASTER & ECLIPSE Since there was a PC right before Taka, a couple of new screenshots: Sadly I didn't have enough Pokeballs to get a good nature and I actually didn't want to make the effort. Amoonguss is great but I've used him way too much already, so I'll use him only if I really need him in future battles. Probably will Ability Capsule this guy. So... Meteor again! Well, we rescue Cain. No thanks to him. We head back to Apophyll beach/town and meet up with the others, and we agree to take on Team Meteor as a group. Victoria teams up with us. Well, thank you. Always appreciate free healing. dafuq, double shiny Well I'll use him a bit, not much. Just trainin'... We reach the peak of the volcano, and Victoria tells us about her feelings for Cal (bleagh). Oh, and LOL. Anyways, following suit: Sick burn, yo I actually was excited to fight this thing the first time. Anybody else? VS. SOLARIS I could've gotten Destiny Bond Cacturne for this fight, but I didn't want to waste my Focus Sash. I probably could've thought up other ways to do this guy in but I didn't feel like putting in effort for it. Well, after the obvious occured, Meteor retreats and we're finally back on track: the Poison-type badge from Aya. Not before a boss battle though: VS. CAIN After that battle, I spend all my money on Rare candies and was able to get 16 in the process - all of them spent on Liza because I'm tired of training. More EXP, yayy VS. FERN Well, without further ado, here's the team I'm using for Aya: Harley is a huge necessity with Spiky Shield and Sucker Punch. I expect Liza and Blossom to be the real MVPs in this battle. VS. AYA PS: Aya is a total otaku introvert and she totally reminds me of someone I know irl, to the exact same degree. Funny. Anyways, victory on the first try, which is surprising, considering the type disadvantage. Another pain-in-the-butt battle awaits next with Serra, type disadvantage + stupid stupid stupid critical hits. All that next time, so thanks for reading!
  19. HOOLY damn xD, that Eruption. I was grinning like a fool while reading the battle with Charlotte. Blake is gonna be ease-pease
  20. What you should be more surprised about is that Shrooms tanked a STAB Future Sight from ZEL's Espeon, which hits probably harder than Lucario's Psychic? Less BP but STAB, so... I'm on my phone so I can't make a damage calculation, but I could later if you're interested!
  21. @Gentleman Jaggi turns out that it was Psychic after all, but not field boosted, since Rainbow field was in play.
  22. Indeed. I guess. If gen 7 mechanics are implemented by the next episode, they might just completely update the gyms, Aya having a Salazzle to counter for weaknesses. Earthpower/earthquake might still be an option to deal with that tho... Well done with Aya anyway!
  23. Amazing, my friend. And as most others have already mentioned, it's absolutely monstrous that you EV train your mons so early. Your patience is a good thing, it will come to be extremely useful in future battles. Can't wait to see how you will progress! ;D
  24. Thunder Punch and Dragon Dance are both egg moves: softresetting before you fight the Pangoros can enable you to eventually come across one w/ Dragon Dance I can't see your sixth member... strange
