  1. Aiite, time to get back on this. How's it going, folks PART 5: Valuable new members and taking on Shelly! First, admire this beauty: Isn’t this such a lovely fella here, the IVs look absolutely delicious. I used Sandbox mode to generate this guy and got this on the third try whilst soft-resetting for an adamant natured dude. I considered cheating to get a Spore + Swords Dance Breloom right off the bat, but decided not to, since it takes the fun out of the run. Heh Since Shroomish doesn't learn Spore until Level 40, I'll probably not use him for the upcoming battles. Call me brave. (Tanking those Rock Slides from Anorith) Along with that, Yay, more grasspower Heading back through Opal Bridge and encountering many trainers on the way, I went and joined in a little street gang. Since the objective was to make the game as hard as possible, and because I already joined the Aqua Gang in my main playthrough, I went with the Magma Gang. Despite type advantage, the duo were really easy thanks to rain nerf, only 1 faint due to an unlucky burn Fighting Aqua after that was even easier ofc, and I soon obtained a Water Stone, which I plan to use on Mama the Lombre in the near future, along with the completely useless-for-this-run Buizel. I named him Ringo! But that's unnecessary info. On towards the story. Going through the cave beneath the Grand Staircase gave my team a lot of necessary EXP. Gravelers and Sandshrews against my grass types? Instakill <3 It was soon time to rescue Victoria from Aster and Eclipse, and after listening to Solaris' blabbering about history of Reborn - which I totally forgot about actually, the game has so much dialogue, eh well I'll just skip it - it was time for an important double battle! VS. ASTER & ECLIPSE These two need versus sprites. Prior Advice: I'd suggest skipping over this completely since this is a pretty tedious and not very interesting battle that took place, with no real strategy involved. I feel compelled to put this up anyways since these two are mini-bosses of some kind. On the other hand, I do ask you to read the one against Shelly in detail, that will be real fun to read, I promise! Well after that eventful battle Victoria takes off, meaning we have to traverse through this stupid cave alone. Though, not that I can complain about fighting Sandshrews and Gravelers. Victoria is then found comforting Shelly, and we’re then sent to find a certain doctor. Honestly, how hard is it to get a stupid badge? Why are we made to do so much work? Taking on two PULSE! Tangrowths, taking Corey on, getting sass from Fern and now all this work just for a raised level cap. Not to mention a stupidly OP Gym Leader coming up. This all be better worth it. Anyways, on to the doctor, fighting the orderlies, meeting the weirdo orphans. We meet an interesting girl called Anna who surprisingly gives pretty good advice. I’m guessing she’s gonna be the center of the plot in the next episode, but that’s a story for another day. Gym time! Oh wait, but not yet, because this game absolutely loooves dangling prizes in front of your nose when you're not in any position to grab it. VS. VICTORIA I'm honestly not sure if she deserves this. Advice: Skip this too, I'm just a perfectionist Pretty easy win, although I got a little careless. Anyways, finally we are allowed to access the gym! After an annoying puzzle. One YouTube search later, we're all set. Just before battling her though: Leaf Stone is available right below Shelly, if anybody wanted to know. My team for Shelly: Alright, time to go! GYM #4 - vs. SHELLY Well, we finally get Struggle Bug from a stuttering Shelly, along with the more important Cocoon badge, resulting in a bump in level cap to... 40? What is this nonsense? But there's only more trouble that follows, involving several double battles and escapades and being marked as a criminal. But all that, next time! Thanks for reading! Feel free to offer words of wisdom and feedback
  2. Well done against Terra (and in general)! Was kind of late when I came across this, i should probably explore the forums more to come across similar interesting content. The Fairy Egg run is an interesting twist, you've already beaten the major hassles you might've faced till now. I wonder how you'll fare against Titania in the next episode...
  3. Making a suggestion here: perhaps add a couple of pictures to your run? Maybe a couple screenshots or at least something that looks visually pleasing. I understand that lack of response in a thread you dedicate time to can be really hard-hitting, but remember that continuously reading long pages of text can be rather tedious to read. Also, note: remember that people reading your thread aren't as familiar the nicknames of your Pokemon as you are, which is why I always make it a point to write the Pokemon in brackets. Eg: I send out Thorn (Roselia). When I went through your thread I found myself constantly scrolling up to recall which Pokemon you were referring to. Also, a monorun is more for yourself rather for others: feedback always does give you an extra motivational boost, but for me it's the fun while playing it - incorporating different strategies for different bosses. I recommend continuing updating your thread, unless you find it a complete chore to do so.
  4. Unlikely but what are the odds? Really low xD And it happens way too often. I've also had the enemy gym leader getting four critical hits in a row, which has a (6.25/100)^4 chance to happen, which is around 0.00001525878, if I'm not wrong. I do feel that the critical hits are boosted quite a bit in this game, and I'm not sure if the buffs are only for gym leader and boss-specific events. Ooh, nice. If you're talking about Shelly, pretty cool. I'm not having an easy time with her myself
  5. Nicely done! A couple of statements though: I didn't understand the Stunky vs. Skuntank battle, in both the videos. I may have been overlooking something very crucial, but care to explain? I didn't really see much of a difference between the proclaimed "noob" and "expert" battles - you seemed pretty good in both, the only exception being the amount of Pokemon you had left when the Crobat came up It amazes me how much the game goes against you when you need it the most (I'm still not convinced that Ame hasn't tampered with the RNG), 3 minimizes and mud bombs and the bubbles still hit consecutively 3 times in a row. Also, failing to achieve an all-stat boost EVER during gym battles. I always get them during wild encounters AFTER the battle is over, many times. If so, I understand that its meant to enhance the difficulty of the game, but at some points it really borders on unfair. /endrant
  6. To be honest, it took a couple "practice runs" before I figured out that Roselia is an excellent sweeper early game. I was able to take out the first 5 of his team fairly easily with the others (Grovyle and Jumpluff) but always had at least 1 death. Stupid Skuntank.. Yes, the sucker punch thing is also something I learnt recently on my main run when my Lapras was asleep Haha that is definitely a pity but thankfully, the level cap is 35! Best anime 10/10 Corey was relatively easy, yes. I won't say the same for ZEL/Taka tho...
  7. It was finally a sunny day outside, and instead of going out for a good walk, I had other plans: to take on what would be the start of the more challenging part of Reborn. Two more Tangrowths and a Poison Gym Leader on a Grass mono? Challenging as hell, so I decided to go for it. PART 4: Chattertots, Tankrowths and Corey in the House After clearing up with Florinia last time, my next goal was to fix up the Beryl and Jasper Wards. Several battles, faints, and rescuing policemen later, I got myself a new mon. I thought of getting Paras and Carnivine, but opted not to since I felt I had several superior other options. Anyways, clearing Jasper Ward meant I had to deal with Taka, who seemed to be hesitant about Team Meteor's methods. No time for sympathy though! VS. TAKA Well after that Taka apologized (or did he? didn't read the dialogue, sorry) and it was then time to clean up in Beryl. A double battle that I would definitely not enjoy was coming up, so I decided to make a couple adjustments to my team. Mama was too weak for anything at this point, and since I wanted Giga Drain on it (only Lotad learns it at Lvl. 30), so I left it in the daycare while training up my other mons. Soon... And... Two very necessary power buffs for my upcoming battle. VS. ZEL + TAKA Well, if this isn't hard, I don't know what is. Three super powerful Eeveelutions combined with a stronger PULSE! Tangrowth that we barely managed to take out before combined with a OP Chatot that spammed Chatter and an OP Lileep that liked to spam Confuse Ray? Overkill. If I had this team, I'd sweep Reborn I thought up a couple strategies for this: One was to bring back in Kirsche the Cherubi and evolve it into Cherrim for the beautiful ability it had that would greatly help me in this battle, but I was too lazy to train up another mon. The second was to Toxic Spikes-kill the team (since PULSE!Tangrowth doesn't gain Poison typing until it actually transforms, it wouldn't be able to absorb the spikes which meant it would continue to work against the rest of the team, and hence would be pretty effective against the two. In the end, I didn't do either Well, isn't that dandy. I deserve some serious applause for that effort right there, especially from Florina. Let's not forget how useless she was against just one of these things. Anyways, the mysterious hooded figure then storms off after Heather and the police track him down, and it is disclosed that he is actually Corey, the gym leader of Beryl Ward. More drama follows up and we find ourselves at the gym. I have to admit, I underestimated that Crobat the first couple of times. I declared Lotad as useless for this battle and left Mystery Egg proceedings for later. I however discovered an egg that I had completely forgotten about, only to find that I unluckily got the useless-for-this-run Drowzee egg. However, since I was already at the point where I could rightfully get myself a Cacnea, I traded it with my main game account. Soon, Reason why I have Sucker Punch at 28: I used the same technique I used on Thorn, day-cared it up to Lvl. 34 where it learned Sucker Punch, evolved it, common-candied it down to 28 and there you have it. So I finally decided to beat Corey with slight adjustments in my team. I sent Victory back to the PC for this battle and replaced him with Cacturne (just realized I haven't nicknamed her, you're welcome to suggest one) Anyways, TAIM TO KEEL GYM #3 - vs. COREY Corey is thankless and gym-badgeless as usual, storms out of the gym and commits suicide after saying goodbye to his Pokemon. The shock and gravity of the moment is ruined completely when dickwad shows up, mocking everything as usual. An explosion then takes place, after which Fern tells us to look over the wall (if only our player could push him over right now) and tells us our next location: Lapis Ward, also home to Shelly's gym. All that in the next part! Thank you for reading (if you did)!
  8. Alright, because I was very busy the past week pretending to have a life, I wasn't able to do anything with this, until now. For those of you who were actually following this, apologies. In any case, continuing where we left off last time: PART 3: Grass Grill Florinia So the first thing I do right here is go get that Lotad in Coral Ward. And a Hoppip. And ensure that both have decent Natures and IV spreads. I soon acquired Mama, the Lotad (Mama because I was thinking of breeding Giga Drain from Thorn, my Roselia, but it sadly didn't work out [terrible natures 5 times in a row on the babies]) and Wing It, The Hoppip. Problem here was that I had to make a couple adjustments to my team in the process while going through. I'll go through them one by one, if you guys are interested: In the end, these are what I had before I went up against Fern: Pothead, Gloom Lvl. 22 Gentle, Chlorophyll Mega Drain Sweet Scent Acid Sleep Powder Mama, Lotad Lvl. 22 Relaxed, Swift Swim Natural Gift Mist Mega Drain Bubblebeam Victory, Weepinbell Lvl. 21 Docile, Chlorophyll Vine Whip Growth Wrap Poison Powder Thorn, Roselia Lvl. 24 Lax, Natural Cure Giga Drain Growth Water Sport Toxic Spikes Slash, Grovyle Lvl. 24 Adamant, Overgrow Fury Cutter Pursuit Leaf Blade Quick Attack Wing It, Skiploom Lvl. 23 Hasty, Leaf Guard Grassy Terrain Leech Seed Bullet Seed Acrobatics I have to say that at this point Fern is the most annoying person I have ever seen. Oh well, all those extra trainers means extra EXP. Anyways: VS. FERN Pitiful. Hopefully your sister does better. I have to mention that strategy is rather minimal from my side, and I'm just kinda going with the flow xD I do hope my career doesn't end with Corey Anyways, Florinia's up next, the more pleasant version of Fern. Grass versus grass, eyyyyyyyy. I equip Thorn with Rose Incense and Mama with Sea Incense (although this was totally unnecessary). GYM #2 - vs. FLORINIA Can I say how much I HATE the Desert Field? Pin Missile was almost enough to decimate my entire team if not for Thorn's intervention. Super effectivity + continuous critical hits + terrain boost was absolute butchery. In any case, too close for comfort. So Florinia gives us the badge because she for some reason thinks its okay to forcibly involve the little helpless girl we are with terrorist organizations that are known to murder people outright. Well, she isn't wrong, hopefully. We take the badge with grace, enjoy the benefits of the increased level cap, but all that next time! Thanks for reading! I (hopefully) will cover Corey's badge next time! PS: Sorry for not replying to y'all, I swear I've been taking your advice and reading all your replies but I somehow never found the time to reply back. I will do so in the future
  9. There isn't so much as a best starter, Reborn prioritizes strategy over brute force, so it's more of a team game.

    King's Rock?

Welp, I just got one. Thanks anyways

    King's Rock?

Anybody knows where I can get this? I've been playing 6 hours straight with Compound Eyes Vivillion leading the team and not a single King's Rock to be found.
  12. The nicknames are very creative and well-thought out, but quite a pain to pronounce. Although my nicknames aren't necessarily any better so I'm not really the best judge on that (except the ones on my main run like Rhaegar my Charizard and Lancelot, my Escavalier) The videos are a nice touch as well, every time you come up with a new idea I feel like stealing it xD but I won't 'coz recording and uploading is massive work for me. Coupled with the fact that I have major OCD and want to collect EVERY ITEM ingame and catch EVERY Pokemon and I'd never record all that. Not really cheating and I am really impressed with how you handled Julia, much better than I did on my Grass-run, despite having type resistance. Anyways just went through your second video as well and you're doing very well with yourself. This should be a breeze of a run for you
  13. Holy moly you're already at Florinia despite having started this run after me? I should really continue from where i left off... Anyways, nice to know you're equally enthusiastic about this as well! I will remain a faithful follower as usual Edit: Just watched your first gym battle and I gotta say Sucker Punch is pretty OP early game
  14. Yeah, you have to beat the Abra-Kadabra-Alakazam trainer back in East Gearen. Not sure if this is the right section tho..
  15. Thanks a lot, man. 2 is what I didn't know at first, kinda stupid of me.
  16. I'm stuck in Valor Mountain, feels like I'm just running around in circles. I've already patched the game and I'm not sure where to head next. I've rock smashed the pillar already but no new paths are opened up for me to progress. Can somebody direct me to the correct place? Thanks in advance! Edit: Nvm, figured it out. Sorry!
  17. Haha well, it has a very unique design imo and I take pleasure in liking things that people generally don't
  18. While true, I was able to sweep Shade with Scrafty alone thanks to Dragon Dance + Moxie, it's an absolute monster. Scrafty >>>>> Pangoro any day, in all departments Fite me
  19. Alongside the above comments, I recommend getting rid of Noibat for this gym, it's pretty bad standalone. Use it only when the level cap is 50+ when you can use Noivern
  20. Was just about to post this when I saw it here, thank god it's not just me Any solutions to this? I really want to get rid of it since Decidueye loses both STAB and physical typing, I even went to the move relearner, the move doesn't come up in the list.
  21. That's not till a bit later, but i got I resolved anyway, had to patch the latest version first. Thanks though!
  22. Do it! I just started playing it recently, and I gotta say it's pretty fun
  23. I'm stuck in my cell and it says "this stone is cracked and discolore" when I interact with the wall. This is in blacksteeple castle, btw. Searching for the solution in some places said I needed a mining kit, so I went back to the previous save and am trying to find it. Any help please?
  24. Nooooo why does Arwen keep getting critical-hitted In any case, congratulations! You've now established that it's possible to beat a game (up till now) as hard as Reborn with a type that is often deemed as weak. The videos were a nice touch, I'm amazed that you're able to post a video and type all the battles out. I can't even get enough time to play the next part xD I have no idea about Rejuvenation, I've just beat the first gym (although that was ages ago xD), but I'll still follow through.
