Fire Emblem Deminian Knights Welcome all to this little RP of mine. Took a little bit, but it’s finally up. Rules 1. Respect thy other players and host. 2. Sexual Content should be inexistent or minimized -Due to the nature of the RP, I’ll be quite lax on Violence and Swearing, but I may say something if I think you’re going overboard. 3. No bunnying without the other player’s permission Overview Deep in the Kingdom of Annea, a massive war has broken out against the Onishian Empire. The Mad King gave his men orders to slaughter every last Annean for reasons unknown. The war had been going on for almost a year with the Anneans slowly losing hope. Their victories in the war grew smaller and smaller with the Onishian Empire slowly pushing them further and further into the kingdom. Fully aware of the situation, the Senate formed a pact decreeing for the armies to immediately find and train new recruits for battle. While there was dispute among the army, some of the high ranking members reluctantly stepped down from the front lines and scattered about. One such man was General Virgil who was ordered southward to the town of Deminbriar. With spirit of Annea slowly shattering, help was all but difficult to find. The Four Kingdoms NPCs Available Units Battles Battles are divided up into two group which I call Free-for-all and Critical Moments. Free-for-all is basically when I let you control the fight however you feel like it, but I prefer if you mix it up a bit. Critical Moments are a bit more serious. Unlike the former, I control the enemy units in quick battle. It's best to proceed through these with caution because one small slip could prove fatal. How battles functions are rather simple. The Weapons triangle helps influence the outcome of the battle. If you fight a Myrmidon with a Lance, that Myrmidon is probably going to die. However, if you see a Warrior nearby, you may want to retreat because you likely won't be unscathed. Axe wielders are able to break lances rather easily, but sword wielders are a bit quicker and can hit axe wielders before they move. Lance wielders have a longer ranger making it difficult for a sword wielder to move in. Keeping that in mind will keep your character safer. Bosses In the games, bosses were units who were just merely stronger units. Things are a bit different here. Unlike a majority of those bosses, these guys are tough, unfair, and sometimes downright brutal. Each boss has at least one special trick or trait that no other enemy has. This could be just about anything, some including armor that cannot be pierced. The only way to take down these foes is through both wit and teamwork. Sign-Ups Reference Sheet
Deminbriar (Sunrise) Deep in the Southern parts of Annea lived a small town called Deminbriar. Not many were awake this early in the sleepy town, but a girl wearing a white robe could be seen rushing through the empty streets. In her hand, she held a folded piece of paper with a red seal encased on the front. She turned one way then another, until she arrived at her destination. In front of her was a small grim looking house with a blueish roof to fit the mood. She knocked on the door a couple of times then stood there waiting for a response. “What the bloody hell do you want?” A half dressed man opened the door wearing only an orange shirt and some worn-out trousers. His hair was in a wild mess and the dark circles in his eyes gave away his mood rather quickly. “I’m s-sorry to bother you at this hour.” The girl used her free hand to curl a strand of her black hair to ease her nerves. “It’s just that this…this soldier wanted me to give you this letter. He said it was important.” She held up the paper in her hand and quickly jumped back when he yanked it from her hand. “What do the damn fools want from me this time?” The man slowly removed the seal and glanced over the contents inside. “How do they expect me to read this? It’s nothing more than complete scribbles.” “Sir, I might be able to read it.” The girl was about to step back again, but the man stopped her and handed the paper back. “Let’s see…seems like they are a new batch of recruits being sent to you.” “Great! Just when I get done with one set of maggots, they send me new ones. How bad is it?” “Seems like most of them just need a quick examination before being sent off. There is one thing you might want to know: they’re already here.” “Those damn politicians are trying to kill me. They can’t even give me one day. It’s already hard enough training these damn babies when I should be fighting alongside my men.” The man took a deep breath eventually calming his nerves. “Why don’t you make yourself useful for once and check attendance while I get ready? Make sure to drag archer boy on your way.” The man then slammed the door before the girl could even respond. A little bit of time passed as the girl made her way outside of town. The fields were hilly and quite spacious. Shepherds were just getting up and tending to their flock, while farmers were busy with fieldwork. The girl eventually made her way to a flat area where a group of people were standing. They were a bit intimidating, but they seemed a bit friendlier compared to the other. “May I have your attention please,” she said ever so softly. “Welcome to the Annean Army. We’re happy you’re lending us a hand in this conflict. Can each of you please say your name so that I can take attendance? It’d also be kind of nice to know a little bit about you too if that’s not a problem.”
Hi there folks, the name's Commander. You may see me float around on the site, but I tend to stick around in the roleplay. Right here I have a roleplay and kind of want to see everyone's thoughts on it. For those of you new to the series or don't really now much about it, here's a good video I found that details all of the added content in Fire Emblem over the years. Hopefully that'll give some of the newer fans insight on Fire Emblem mechanics. Story Deep in the Kingdom of Annea, a massive war has broken out against the Onshia Empire. The Mad King gave his men orders to slaughter every last Annean or face his wrath. The war had been going on for almost a month and things were looking grim for Anneans. The Senate formed a pact decreeing for the armies to immediately train new recruits for battle. While there was dispute among the army, some of the high ranking members stepped down from the front lines and scattered about. One such man was General Virgil who ventured down south to the town of Deminbriar. That is where out story begins… *** Now that I have all that out of the way, I can get to the fun part. While I am keeping a vast amount of fire emblem elements in, I tinkered around with it a bit trying to make this work better for a roleplay. I'll mostly just cover the significant changes. Battles Instead of going with calcs and an RNG, I decided to go on a different road. Battles are divided up into two group which I call Free-for-all and Critical Moments. Free-for-all is basically when I let you control the fight however you feel like it, but I prefer if you mix it up a bit. Critical Moments are a bit more serious. Unlike the former, I control the enemy units in quick battle. It's best to proceed through these with caution because one small slip could be fatal. Classes The following list is just a rough draft of the base classes that'd be used for Sign-Ups. This is not all of the classes Calvary As you may have noted, all the above units are foot soldiers. I did the intentionally as almost every class has a secondary class they can choose between after a certain point. One example would be a Soldier can become a Lance Knight. Each path has pros and cons to it, but neither one is better than the other. Sorry if it's mostly just game mechanics, but I've been focusing more on that compared to the overall story (which isn't going to be anything outside of typical Fire Emblem). Feedback is greatly appreciated. Upgrading your Weapon Throughout the roleplay, shops will be accessible to buy better equipment. This can be anything from a better sword, a far ranged weapon such as a javelin, and even being able to buy healing items such a Vulnerably. You have a limited amount of gold given to you buy the "lord" so choose carefully. (I'll give you a brief of what you can buy whenever we reach one). There is also another nice feature they have. Should your weapon carry cracks or rust, they can fix or replace it for a small price. Promoting Your Unit If you played the games, you may know what a Master Seal is already. Master Seal is a special item that let's you promote your unit up to a more powerful one. Master Seals exist in the roleplay, but they aren't called that. Each class has a special seal that let's them promote to the next class. To find one, you must show a mastery in ones own category by impressing a certain person. I'll go into more detail when one of these pops up in the Roleplay.
