Member Appreciation Thread: 2017 Edition
Filthy Casual replied to Azeria's topic in General Discussion
This seems like fun. Here are some of mine, and it will involve personal bias (so sorry!) @Anti_Hero for helping me in my play through by giving me an Eevee @Another Retired Shipper for getting that Eevee into a Glaceon with a killer moveset @HellBoyOnEarth for helping me evolve my Electabuzz into an Electivire @Jess because the Bug Mono was really fun @Awesome_One, for making me a Gigalith @Amethyst, because this is a fun website @Jan, because the Rejuvenation team is one of my favorites ever (Chesnaught and Mismagius are now some of my favorite Mons, might even breach the sacred top 10) Finally, everyone who helped my original Reborn team out the first time I commented. -

It has unfortunately been taken away faster than a professor in lava.

According to his Twitter, the Alpha of the game is done. I would guess January 2018.

...uh... so it's been a while... I have been busy both moving and going on a European vacation for the past two weeks, so because of that, I have had very little time to play Reborn. Also, Blake is the absolute worst, and took FOREVER to beat. However, we FINALLY BEAT HIM! Here is the MVP of the fight: We are FINALLY ready to head on to Terra, who seems to have baited us hard (which is honestly fine with me, because I never liked Terra). Here is our team: We will also be catching an Absol and naming it "INCOMING!" Who else should we add? What should we name the new members (except for Absol, because that name is reserved for INCOMING!) Who should we use against Terra? Let me know! Thank you all for your patience, and I'm going to make sure this play through gets finished, because I'm not going to leave you in the dark again. I'm going to be better, because you all deserve the best. P.S.: I also caught a shiny Wailmer while training. Does anyone want it? EDIT: @U-M, you will be happy to know we FINALLY got the Absol! INCOMING! is male, with the ability Super Luck, and the Quiet nature.

Just patched it. Thanks! This topic can be closed.

@Lord Chespin, here are more rankings: Solrock: C- +Decent attack +Access to Rock Slide, Psychic, and Stone Edge via level up +Just as Lunatone got Moonblast via Heart Scale, Solrock gets Flare Blitz through the same means +LEVITATE -Available nowhere near as early as Lunatone (need surf to get it) -Extremely disappointing special attack stat -Lackluster speed -When you get it, it has no real advantages against the gyms (even Amber has Solarbeam, and Angie will reck Solrock) -There are better rock types and psychic types than Solrock This does, however, lead to: Solrock & Lunatone Fusion: B +Decent attack and Special Attack +Still access to most of the great moves of Solrock and Lunatone through level up +Levitate is still there +Decent enough bulk: the strengths of Solrock and Lunatone are combined -Piss poor speed -You get it relatively later in the game (after Angie) -Solrock will always be the base (so no Moonblast)

I never played the game, but here are some ideas of my own: Swampert: Because if Blaziken and Sceptile can get in, so can Swampert. His super move would be turning Mega, and then doing a combo of Power-up-Punch into Earthquake Marshadow: We need more 7th gen, and this guy would be perfect! His super move would be the Z move Dusknoir: Speaking of ghosts, this one would be a power character. His super move would be a giant beam coming from his mouth, similar to Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky Heracross: It baffles me how this one didn't make it. Maybe his super move could involve a Mega Evolved Mega Horn Darmanitan: Yes, there are a lot of fire types, but this one would just be fun to use. His super would be a massive Flare Blitz to the face Miltank: I don't think there are normal types in the game, and I feel you know where this one is going: THE SUPER IS ROLLOUT Bronzong: Lord Asshat himself. He would be a slow, hard-to-play but also hard-to-beat trap setter. Perhaps his super would involve Trick Room, and rather than damaging the opponent, he could gain a huge boost in speed while the opponent could gain a huge decrease in speed

I have a Solrock and Lunatone I want to fuse. I collected the Phase Dial, but every time I want to use it, it won't let me. How do I fix this? Is it because the Lunatone is a higher level than the Solrock?

Here are some ideas: America: Braviary (FUCK YEAH!) Canada: Bibarel (the helpful and friendly guy everyone seems to mock) Mexico: Cacturne (to represent the desert lifestyle they live) England: Politoed (because it has Drizzle, and it WON'T STOP RAINING THERE) Spain: Tauros (for how popular bull fighting is there) Poland: Pachirisu (likable enough, but the poor thing gets annihilated during World War II) Germany: Garchomp (consistently one of the top tier countries, can cause a lot of damage if left unchecked) Italy: Lickilicky (can eat a lot of excellent food, but is never taken too seriously in battles) France: Golisopod (one of the most formidable armies in history, yet also has the tendency to surrender when the going gets tough) Russia: Beartic (an ice type known for moving slowly, but hitting REALLY hard, and counters Germany) Australia: Arbok (really, Seviper could work, since everything there wants to kill you)

I have been quite bored over the past few days, so I offer this: does anyone want me to make a picture of their Reborn teams for their signatures? I greatly enjoy doing so, and will do it for free. Let me know if you are interested.

From the experience, here are the best types of starters (from my experience): Torchic: Speed boost and bulk up are really good for Blaziken Popplio: A bulky starter with a great typing Bulbasaur: Chlorophyll can be an excellent ability if you want a Sun Team, and its bulk is quite excellent Snivy: Contrary is good, and even the overgrow Leech Seed/Coil combo is passable enough. Bulbasaur and Snivy don't require as much technical know-how for the grass types (particularly Bulbasaur)

I would have given Alolan Muk an A+ but the problem with me was the fact that my Muk had Alchemy as an ability. Alchemy is trash, and should not ever be used. This also leads into Alolan Muk's weakness: you get it as a Shadow Mon. This is because you have to use it for a bit before you can discover what ability it has, and personally, it is not worth the reset. The fact you may have to use an ability capsule definitely hurts it. However, I am also completely fine if Alolan Muk does get moved up to A+. You are still correct, and bring up great points. Pinsir: B- +Surprisingly good attack stat +Pretty decent moveset +Gets access to a wide variety of through TMs +Pretty fast overall +Decimates the psychic leaders -You get it at Crawli's gym, and it doesn't do as well against the next two gyms -Heracross outclasses it overall -Mega Pinsir is not a thing yet

That's amazing! In that case, does anyone have a Fennekin? I am looking to replace my Lunatone with something capable of fighting. If interested, send me what you may be interested in, and I will see what I can do.

I'd love it if for Mewtwo, you needed to find Mew's DNA, and then create a Mewtwo from scratch in an abandoned Meteor lab. You would need to find Mew first, of course, which would be holding the DNA. Perhaps Mew would be roaming?

I thought there was no trading on this game. How does that work?

Sorry, that meant to say Sharon and Eli! Fixed!

My team is pretty bad right now. I am about to fight Sharon and Eli for the final time, and would love suggestions for future team members. Here is who I have: Achilles (Swampert) -Surf -Rock Slide -Protect -Earthquake StonkyDonk (Alolan Muk) -Gunk Shot -Minimize -Knock Off -Crunch Lust (Salazzle) -Toxic -Magma Drift -Venoshock -Nasty Plot Dreamworks (Lunatone) -Hypnosis -Stone Edge -Rock Slide -Psychic Whitney (Whimsicott) -Leech Seed -Energy Ball -Hurricane -Moonblast Static (Manectric) -Wild Charge -Discharge -Flash -Thunder Fang Who should I replace, and for what? Let me know!
-
Honestly, you should be fine. The next gym isn't too bad. However, if you want, consider training a Togedemaru. I know it sounds nuts, but it gets access to Spiky Shield and Nuzzle, which are both extremely handy. If you wanted it, I would say you would be best replacing Cloyster. Otherwise, that team looks extremely fun!

I would have ranked Swoobat higher, but I feel as if a lot of Swoobat's viability depends on if you can set up. I had one myself, and it died before it could do anything. I would have to reset a lot before it worked, and I feel that hurts it a lot. Then again, I could have gotten unlucky (I also suck at the game, so that could be a part of it). I DO agree with the Primerina ranking, however, and also think it deserves the S rank. Having said that: Quagsire: C +Decent enough movepool +Available relatively early as a shadow Pokemon with the move Flame Charge +The answer to Madelis's Shadow Mewtwo -Lackluster speed -Doesn't really shine against the gyms -Pretty outclassed by Swampert Whimsicott: D +PRANKSTER +An excellent move pool, including moves like Leech Seed, Energy Ball, Hurricane, and Moonblast +It can learn Substitute (with Prankster Leech Seed, this is quite fun) -Doesn't shine in any particular gyms -4x weakness to poison -As of now, the only way you can get it is through the Mystery Egg. Be thankful if you get one. Torterra: C- +Great offensive stats +Access to helpful moves such as Leech Seed and Earthquake via level up +Decent Tammy stats -HORRID SPEED -A really bad defensive typing to undermine those tanks stats -Poor Torterra. It does not fare well in the gym battles at all due to its speed. It sucks against Venam, gets crushed by Keta (Ice Punch Lucario), gets walled by Mariannette (Pyroar and Chatot) and has no real advantages against the gyms (even Valerie gets access to Ice Beam and Erick gets ice moves). It is not treated as well as it is in Reborn because of when it has to fight in key matchups.

Hello! I noticed recently that there wasn't a tier list for Episode 16 of Reborn (this is now going to be updated with E17 in mind). I thought that we may be able to change that with this following list. The way you make a tier list is simple, you must rank each family based on: -accessibility -utility -movepool -how well it utilizes field effects -overall potential This shall be a community thing, so I have posted the rankings below from the last tier list (created by Lord Wallace). With that in mind, happy voting! S-Rank: These Pokemon are arguably the best in the game, being able to hold their own from the instant you get them, which is usually very early, to much later in the game. They never really lose their usefulness, and are the Pokemon you should be using if you want the smoothest and easiest play though. A Rank: These Pokemon are almost always useful, but are held back from the S-tier for one reason or another. They usually have good stats, decent availability, good movepool and can usually handle themselves in battles. B Rank: These are Pokemon that tend to be quite decent, provide a good experience with the difficulty of the game, while not being too hard to train or win with. They tend to missing a couple of key things that make them a lot better. C Rank: These pokemon are very middle of the ground. They have good redeeming qualities, but also have their share of negative ones too. D Rank: These Pokemon are on the lower side of things. They tend to have more bad things about them than good things. If you want to have a challenge with this game, I'd recommend starting here and below. Fail Rank: These are pokemon that have trouble getting anywhere. They tend to be hindered by many bad traits, and have very limited usefulness. Limbo: These Pokemon are technically available but for one reason or another cannot be given an appropriate ranking.
