  1. I have a small idea, but this is only using the avatars I had: Reborn if Vero is Protagonist Swampert- Yes, I know Blaziken is the popular one, but this is to reflect the rivals in the game. Rivals should be the ones who challenge you in some way, and frankly, Cain and Victoria do not really do that to as much of an extent as Fern does. Given the fact it has a 4x weakness to grass, this makes even more sense, paired with great bulk (Greninja is also a possibility for this spot, but I chose Swampert because Protean negates the weakness) Noivern- This would be the fly slave throughout the region. Noivern is also found relatively early, and it helps it is part dragon Leavanny- I like to think most protagonists have some Fire/Water/Grass trio, and one of the earliest reliable grass types you can get is Leavanny Magnezone- One of the kings of Reborn, this Pokemon is amazing in a majority of fields. It also can hit extremely hard, and has Sturdy. Gardevoir- This is just another one of the kings/queens of Reborn. It is accessible early enough, and is useful as soon as you get it. Ninetales- I'm not actually sure about the sixth spot, but I wanted a mystery egg Pokemon. For me, Ninetales makes the most sense, as it completes the Fire/Water/Grass trio. On Rotation- Exploud, Scrafty, Lucario, Sylveon, Cofagrigus Rejuvenation Protagonist I'm not actually sure about the names of the protagonists, so I'm again just going to go for the one I used: the one with the green cap Sceptile- It used to be Chesnaught (as your rivals had Delphox and Greninja, but no one had Chesnaught), but with the new update, I decided to go for Sceptile for being relatively fast. Decidueye could also be another substitution here. Alolan Muk- It's the first Shadow Pokemon you run across Lycanroc Midday- It's an early fast sweeper with Stealth Rocks Hariyama- It's obtainable relatively early, and quite powerful: it helps tremendously against Angie Pyroar- Pyroar helps symbolize everything you do for the Help Center Crawdaunt- I feel as if the male with the green hat would generally like sweepers, and this one is no exception. This also completes the Fire/Water/Grass trio On Rotation- Swoobat, Banette, Dusclops, Heliolisk, Nidoking
  2. If each in game hero had an in-game canon team, what would it be? For generation one, for example, Red is known to use the same six Pokemon: Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Snorlax, Lapras (for HGSS, anyway, otherwise Espeon). Here are some ideas I have: Gen II (HGSS): Typhlosion (referencing the anime when Gold finds a Raikou), Togekiss (you receive it from an egg), Heracross (a fan favorite), Sudowoodo (a required side battle), the red Gyarados (to showcase a new feature), and Dragonite (from the Dragon's Den)/Tyranitar (as the pseudo legend) Gen III (ORAS): Sceptile (to reference Pokemon Origins), Gardevoir (a popular new psychic type at the time), Swellow (a dependable flying type), Manectric (fast electric type), Latios/Latias (based on the game you are playing), Sharpedo (as it is the fastest surfing Pokemon you get in the game) Gen IV: Torteterra (to reference Dawn's Piplup), the POWERFUL Staraptor, Luxray, Porygon-Z (to showcase one new evolution, and you get it from someone in a house), Lucario (from Riley), Floatzel Gen V (Black/White): Samurott, Simisear (if Samurott), Zoroark, Lilligant (as the protagonist is playing White according to Origins, when N fights Ghetsis and loses Reshiram), Archeops (as a fossil), Zekrom (because of Pokemon Origins) Gen V (Black II/White II): Emboar, Arcanine, Lucario (all in the animated trailers), N's Zoroark, Cincinno (in the hidden grotto), Jellicent (Undella Bay) Gen VI: Chesnaught, Charizard (both from Origins), Lucario (given to you), Goodra (fan favorite), Sylveon (the popular Fairy type), Clawitzer/Dragalge depending on the version Not sure about Gen 7 There are my own opinions, though. What are yours? Let me know!
  3. I'm going to try to use Artemis less (except against Fern: I will use ONLY her against Fern). That should help the other team mates get more EXP.
  4. Buy another nightmare medallion, and give it to Anabel. Afterwards, enter Nightmare City. That will activate the next step.
  5. Chapter 14: The Shadow Queen Before we went to fight Narcissa, we decided to do a bit of training. There were two tough battles coming up, and I wanted to make sure we would be prepared for both of them. I decided to get another haircut for Waffles, and she seemed so happy, she evolved! With our new evolution on hand, we went to the gym, where Ren was begging Narcissa to let him battle her. After grilling him for being a raging hypocrite (since he locked us out with a fence), she decided to hold a competition. Whoever would reach her first would get the chance to battle her. Of course, along the way, she would perform in a play. I have always appreciated this about V9. This is exactly what her gym should have looked like in the first place. Before, the only way we would have known that she was an actor is her saying "Oh, by the way, I'm an actor. Just take my word for it." Here, her personality is on full display. Either way, we ran into Ren, and had to fight for the fight to face Narcissa! After we beat Ren, we were able to meet Narcissa on stage! It seemed to be awesome! ...well, at least for most of the members. Dangerous may have gotten stage fright... Either way, it was time to fight for the spirit of Goldenleaf! We ended up getting our fourth badge! Next time, we will be completing more Side Quests. Who should we box? Use? Catch? Name? We will be trying to win against Madame X, so is there anyone I should attempt to use? Also, should Waffles become a Kantonian or Alolan Raichu? Let me know! Current Team
  6. Very good question. I'm not actually sure, but hey, I still won. It was hardy. Maybe it was plus 1, but either way, it should have KOd. Yeah, people really weren't kidding when they said Blaziken was the best in the game. I've been only trying to use her against mons with type advantages such as Fern, but man, she's so good!
  7. I mean, if you really want to use mons less used, then no one is less used for starters than Meganium. If you want something less used but practical, however, try out Chesnaught for your starter. While the typing is lacking, Spiky Shield is extremely good, and it hits like a truck.
  8. I have found another Pokemon in the monotype play through! I'm not sure if anyone wants it, but if so, let me know!
  9. Awesome! In that cast, the comment about Mudkip with the nickname Achilles shall stay (it should also be male). However, I will also recommend that you get the ability Torrent, as Damp is pretty useless.
  10. All I know is that when it is time to vote for the starter, my vote is going to be for a Mudkip named Achilles.
  11. Chapter 16: Aya gets Wasted After the victory over Solaris and his Garchomp, we went to the doors of the Wasteland, only to find Cal hiding nearby. He wanted to explain how he did everything as a double agent, trying to sabotage the PULSE Camerupt. Of course, while I stated that I believe him, this honestly makes me respect him even less. Kiki essentially died for nothing because of his cowardice. Cal then sulked away into hiding, stating the Meteors would be after him. We then tried to get Cain to give us the keys. He unlocked the gate, only to say "By the way, we're fighting now, lol." After that attempt to stall us, Cain granted us access to the wasteland. We eventually ran across Aya, a girl with serious emotional problems. She had unfortunately lost to a challenger: Fern. He had boasted to us that he decided to catch new Pokemon other than grass types. Would Fern finally be able to see another Pokemon on my team other than Artemis? After that battle, we Fern decided to stick around, stating that he would be happy no matter who lost. We quickly went to battle! Now that we have our badge, we have access to Strength! Next time, we will use this ability to save the children! Current Team
  12. Chapter 15: Bruce Lee and Sonya Blade vs Garchomp After we defeated Kiki, Victoria warned us that Cain was supposed to meet them at the island hours ago. According to her, the only possible place he could have gone would have been the Azurine Island right by Apophyll Beach. Before we went off, however, we collected a new team member! When we arrived at the island, we found a warehouse on the opposite end. There, we found Cain being held captive by Taka, the one with the demon Chatot. Taka told us his plan to send in a PULSE Camerupt to cover the school in magma. Immediately, we went to battle! After saving Cain, we then headed up the mountain in order to find Solaris. When there, he bragged that it would only take "a single Pokemon to delete them". Of course, we wouldn't take that claim lightly, so instead, we decided to take to the battlefield... All would have been well, but Cal decided to be a coward and betray Kiki. Victoria then cried about Cal betraying everyone (which is honestly the first thing I can agree with her about this whole play through), and send him away looking quite distraught. Afterwards, we went back to Apophyll, only to find out Kiki's badge has been invalidated. The good news is that we now have received Strength, and Cain is currently willing to open the gates to the Wastelands! Next time, we will be taking on Aya in the new poison gym! Current Team
  13. Chapter 14: A Battle of Will That's right, today, we have a double header, back to back! After we took care of Solaris and his PULSE Muk, we traveled to Apophyll, where we met Kiki, another fellow fighting type master. She told us that in order to receive Strength, we would have to enroll in the program and take a rigorous training course. Then... ...Victoria came... Apparently, she's the top student in Apophyll. With her influence, we were able to strike a deal. If we could beat a fire type user named Cal in a fight, we would be able to challenge Kiki. Before we did that, however, we found a new team member! Immediately, we we found Cal at the top of the mountain, and despite some angsty phrasing, we went into battle! Afterwards, when telling Kiki about our triumph, she was ready to fight us. With our wits about us, we were ready to- ...wait a minute, it that- Oh, hello, Victoria! What do you need? ...don't you do what I think you're going to do... You're going to do it, aren't you? Here it comes... There it is! Once again, Victoria was speaking for the well being of others when she had no right to do so. Either way, we needed to beat some sense into her: After Victoria made some stupid comment about me caring too much about the kids, the battle of the fighting type masters began! After an awesome battle, it was time to receive our badge! Thanks for the awesome comment! Finally, no side quests to get a badge! ...wait, why did you pause? Are you going to- I'm not getting my badge, am I? ...welp. Next time, we will investigate what happened to Cain! Current Team
  14. Chapter 13: Artemis goes Super Saiyan After taking out Shade, we went to check on the children. When we went back, we found something much more unpleasant... We were told that Cain was taking off to a place called Apophyll in order to gain access to the HM Strength. While we missed him before he could give us the key, we did run into Amaria, who asked us for our assistance with the Meteors. I don't know why, however, because her Pokemon are jacked on steroids! I personally find it odd that the Meteors think that Solaris could beat Amaria when she has a huge type advantage against much of his team. Eventually, we ended up fighting our way to the center of the factory, where we found something disturbing: Quickly, ZEL tried to defend the PULSE Muk. It was time to battle. Now that we have dispelled the PULSE Muk, we can move on to Apophyll! Next time, we will take on Kiki, the fighting type leader! Current Team
  15. Utter decimation of Charlotte! Nice job!
  16. Chapter 13: Wrath of the Demon Chicken When we finally made it to Goldenleaf, we were extremely surprised that the citizens there treated its people like garbage. In fact, what made it even more disturbing was the fact that there was a noose on one of the statues! Despite the strange cheerfulness of Waffles, we proceeded to the Pokemon center, where we dispatched of a couple of citizens terrorizing the "outsiders". One of the people helping us was Aelita! It was nice to see a familiar face again. However, when informing the gym leader, Narcissa, of the incident, we ran into this guy: He ended up trying to kill both Aelita and Narcissa, only to frame us in the process. Luckily, we were rescued by a girl named Mosely, who was willing to help us stop Geara. Eventually, we made it to Team Xen's lair, which was an abandoned radio tower. Of course, this place got a massive visual update, which was much needed. After we fought through the grunts, we ran into Sharon and Eli, who handed our butts on a silver platter a few times. Because of this, we needed some training: With our upgrades in tow, we were able to easily dispatch of Sharon and Eli, only to find something even more dangerous lurking below: I love that line to this day! ...anyway, onto the fight: After Geara was defeated, we celebrated by eating a nice meal at Narcissa's house. Next time, we will be taking on Narcissa in order to win the hearts of Goldenleaf! Current Team
  17. Chapter 12: Swiggity Swooty, Sonya Comes for Shade's Boo-ty After finding Heather at Shelly's gym, Cain tried to reason with her. However, Heather was hearing none of it, and unfortunately ran into the care of Sigmund Connal. After hearing her screams, we ran to the ward in order to rescue her. We even had some help along the way... We had many battles, each with many psychic and electric types. However, one good thing did come out of it: we got an awesome evolution! Eventually, we ran to the top where Heather was being kept, and... ...well... This is messed up on so many levels, but it's even more messed up when you realize the characters in Reborn are based on real people in the Reborn league. That means the doctor really did torture these girls. I can only imagine who Heather was inspired by in real life. As the children were running through the tunnels, we did a bit more training, and evolved a couple more team members: We ended up meeting the children in the tunnels, where we learned that the power grid was out. Fortunately, we were provided a solution: The great thing about this is that Mr. Shadow, or Shade, is also a gym leader. Why Ame decided to make him a ghost is beyond me, but whatever, I guess that's just how it is. Overall, this fight was one of the most satisfying I have had. Of course, after the battle, Shade gave us the badge. However, after activating the power, he then showed us something troubling: Of course, we cannot leave them in the clutches of Team Meteor. Because of this, next time, we will be saving the children! Current Team
