  1. Yes, First Impression is basically a destroyer of Dark, Grass and Psychic pokemon. Use also Aqua Jet and Sucker Punch and it is also useful vs Ghost and (weakened or not, since it has an amazing Attack stat) Fire, Rock, Ground types. I don't think it's as bad as people say. It's ability is bad and prevents it from Swords Dancing many times, but its Defence stat and good Defensive typing aren't making setting up THAT impossible! PS: Give it a Sitrus Berry
  2. I finally got an "About me". And it is soooo ME! :D

      Yagami

Maybe Bennett got jealous of your success in bug mono run and wanted to show off by becoming an elite 4.

@Yagami I am living for the moment that my Bugs will destroy his again.

  3. Well, I just described myself to be honest Everything was true. I have never used a Golisopod so far (never had the chance), so that's why I didn't put it in. Vivillon represents my love for looking posh and chic. Crustle is my opinionated, solid-rock head and fighting spirit, and Ariados my love for things most people consider ugly (spiders)/useless (Ariados). Just saying, I will so get a Golisopod in my E17 update of Bug mono!
  4. I agree. It would be great if it had Poison Jab and X-Scissor in level-up moveset, instead of TM-only. However, Megahorn is a Hydro-Pump-on-Blastoise case. Learns zero good attacking STAB moves other than that (Aqua Tail sucks, let's be honest) and it is very unreliable. So, I don't think it's too bad. But yes, Scolipede needs Poison Jab instead of Venoshock in level-up moveset.
  5. Name: Jess Trainer Type: (Female) Nerdy Lepidopterist (The female cross of Super Nerd and Bug Catcher/Lepidopterist) SOMETHING LIKE HER Favourite Type: Bug Ace Pokemon: Vivillon (Marine Pattern), Crustle, Ariados (shiny) Personality: Likes weird things that most people consider creepy/disgusting/useless. Has a strange habit of naming her pens/pencils and trying to equally use each one of them in order for them to not feel that they get treated unequally and get sad because of this. Extremely upbeat and cheerful on the surface, but gets fierce and opinionated when she senses unfairness/hypocricy. Her OCD sometimes makes her walk while trying not to step between casual pavement plaques (or on any tiny Durant babies by accident). Strangers think she is dancing, while she just walks and avoids the aforementioned things. When sad, she draws abstract geometrical sketches in her notebook, patterned after her Ariados' nets.
  6. Venipede. It has good abilities (Speed Boost is OP), 2 evolutions and an evolution pattern that closely resembles the original starters. Also, I've never ever seen a Bug starter, so it needs more love. If not Venipede, Axew for sure.
  7. -Garchomp -Gyarados -Mimikyu -Aegislash -Toxapex -Drampa
  8. So, first of all gotta set rules to keep the balance. 1) None of the starters must have a friendship-related evolution. Especially early game it hurts A LOT having to wait with a baby pokemon that refuses to like you enough to evolve and insists on remaining relatively weak if not useless. 2) Also, no mons that have only one evolution must be added, especially if this evolution comes at a REALLY high level (yes, I am looking at you Larvesta). 3) For God's sake, no pseudo-legendaries. 4) And finally, all evolutions must be by level-up and not by something special (e.g. stones or other conditions, like special magnetic field level-up, like for Vikavolt/Magnezone). So, I guess I will write my suggestions based on those rules. I'll just add something else if I get forced to violate any of them due to the lack of mons. Normal: Slakoth/Whismur/Lillipup (if I had to pick one, it would be Lillipup) Fire: Fletchling Fighting: Machop/Timburr (edit properly to replace trading condition for 2nd evolution with level-up) Water: Tympole Flying: Pidgey/Taillow/Pidove/Starly (probably Starly) Grass: Hoppip Poison: Weedle (gets fully evolved too early though), or (best choice imho) Nidoran (m or f) (and again edit properly to replace Moon Stone condition for 2nd evolution with level-up. Evolving those lines with Moon Stone has been stupid all along to be honest) Electric: Mareep Ground: Trapinch Psychic: Gothita/Solosis Rock: Aron Ice: Vanillite/Swinub Bug: Venipede Dragon: Axew Ghost: Gastly (again, edit properly to replace trading condition for 2nd evolution with level-up) Dark: Sandile Steel: Klink Fairy: (Female always) Ralts
  9. Vs Charlotte in my Bug monorun. Only used Crustle, Vivillon and a level 1 Paras. Too tired to type it again, so I will leave the direct link to the post of it in my Bug mono's topic (PS: I also swept Noel with Vivillon (with Compound Eyes) without healing items using Quiver Dance, Aromatherapy to cure Paralysis, Draining Kiss to sustain and Hurricane)
  10. @HongaarseBeer, @LykosHand Fear not, it isn't... It's just too hard to play AND update at the same time, so I'll finish my Insurgence run first and then get on with it. @Snowy Amine ( MC Kapper) Thanks! I'll keep it going relatively soon!
  11. Insurgence hax crap: I set Livewire and Paralyze 4/6 opponents? Paralysis never works for a single turn. Cresselia paralyzes 1 of my Pokemon? I will stay Paralyzed in 4 out of the next 6 turns. Cause fuck odds in Pokemon, it is always against the player.

Lol. That's funny. Have you tried the Livewire + Hex combo? Pretty brutal, I used it at the E4.

    4. Dreamy

      Dreamy

      "Content count: 999"hmmmmm

Also yea I feel the paralysis but livewire is still great for the speed drop.

  12. Mega Manectric would be my choice. If you can get one with Hidden Power Ice, even better. Very fast, hits hard, and if very fragile. You have nothing to cover those pesky Flying/Water things, like Gyarados, or Dragons. Something that could cover both would be very useful! Teach it Flamethrower too, and it will check even Grass types!
  13. I'd suggest to try one that is possible to do without "cheating", which means having to trade pokemon in due to the lack of them early in game. Bug, Poison, Grass, Water and Ground are in this category. For something easier, you can use Poison, which is really solid early and it only gets easier as it goes. Water is tough at start, but gets easier as it goes too. Bug is somewhat more challenging, because (let's be honest), their stats are low and you'll almost never be able to just brute force your way through a battle. In conclusion, it all comes down to what you like! Find the type you like, and the one that reflects your playstyle the most (e.g. Fire for hyper-offensive style, Poison or Grass for defensive/stalling-oriented teams) and have fun!
  14. Swift Swim Ludicolo with Life Orb is terrifying in a Drizzle team.

      EndearingCharacterTrait

Life Orb in general is terrifying tbh

shall I make it even scarier? having luck that makes Hydro Pumo 100% accurate and gets crit about 3 times out of 5.

  15. You're quite welcome! In fact you made me come up with a nice idea for a custom run of Reborn, which I plan to do when the E17 is released It will be based on Naruto and his 9 tailed beasts! More specifically: Shukaku, the Linoone (racoon) Matatabi, the Espeon (2-tailed cat) Isobu, the Lapras (big turtle) Son Goku, thr Darmanitan (fire ape-resembles Darmanitan more than Infernape) Kokuo, the Zebstrika (based on a fast as hell white horse) Saiken, the Goodra (big slug and same colour) Chomei, the Heracross (big bug, same colour, same basic pattern) Gyuki, the Octillery (an octopus) Kurama, the Ninetales (9-tailed fox) (starter)
  16. That's interesting! I'd possibly replace Typhlosion with Delphox/Braixen, because her moves in the gif remind me of Delphox and it's magic stick/wand!
  17. Personally, I wonder more about whether we will have the chance to face Amaria's infamous/notorious (beasty) Hydration physical Lapras, than which 'mons will be implemented in E17
  18. Thunder and Hurricane are less possible to hit than bloody Sheer Cold and Fissure.

I know that feeli ng jess, I would miss a Magical leaf at some point in time

Nothing beats missing fury cutter(95% accuracy) 2 times a row then losing to Florina later.

After that I give half of pokemons wide lens.

Just today I lost to a guy in showdown who hit 3 zap cannons in a row and 2 hypnosis.

    4. Alistair

      Alistair

Wow... missing 2 Fury Cutters in a row is pretty bad. There's a 1/400 chance of that happening.

But missing 5 leaf Tornadoes in a row is just incredible. 1/100 000 chance. I couldn't believe it when it happened.

  19. Insurgence's Hard Mode starts feeling relatively easy compared to Reborn... It needs a difficulty boost by Fields I think...

I hope you're right, that Kyogre actually pissed me off

Audrey was actually quite easy in first battle, Delta Snorlax just destroyed everything besides Lugia. That thing and its Multiscale ability is super OP.

  20. I already have 40 hours of Insurgence gameplay and I'm just after getting my 4th Badge. Wondering how on Earth do some people completed all the content with only ~60 hours...

I wonder if fully EV training will be needed to beat the E4 when I get there......

Side Note:  Still pissed that the Shiny rate is at it's canon level.  5 hours of soft resetting Mew yesterday and nothing to show for it.

    3. Jess

      Jess

@seki108 I have no idea, but it isn't a Reborn-like hard game, so I doubt it. But I want to be prepared. And I like EV training in any case.

Also, when I started playing, I just decided that I won't see a single shiny, so I didn't even bother soft resetting... I didn't even soft reset for IV's/Natures.

But I agree that it isn't rewarding, since you can't even breed for shinies...

    4. seki108

      seki108

I just want a shiny Mew.  I've never had a Mew in either canon or fan works, so I want the first Mew to be good.  I'm probably not going to bother with any other mon, but I want this one.

At least I can re-watch Little Witch Academia in the background.  The one thing I can give Insurgence credit for is that it's launcher doesn't move every time you soft reset, like the launchers for Reborn or Rejuv.  It doesn't make up for the menu not resetting every turn like in every other Pokemon game ever, but it is a nice perk if you are soft resetting a lot.

  21. I am actually doing the same with my Rejuvenation and Insurgence runs. I'll finish them and then start updating again, because it's really A LOT of work to update and it's just not enjoyable to do both at the same time. So, after I finish the playthroughs and upload all vids on youtube, I'll do the chapters! I totally understand how you feel
  22. @Commander I could reply again, and say that I didn't claim that custom-made Deltas aren't "Fake", as in not official. I only said that I'd not put them under the Fakemon category, since they are based on an official pokemon. But, I accept that someone can put them under the Fakemon category. Thanks for the link as well. Anyways, I am not "headstrong" as you said. I just like to support my opinion with arguments. Also, if I am "headstrong", then you are equally "headstrong". I apologise for the mess I made in the topic. Any mods can remove any of my posts here, if they believe it's necessary.
  23. @Commander Fakemon is in my opinion something that has no connection at all (name, typing, etc) with the original game. Deltas aren't fakemon. But I wasn't rude at all towards you. Now, if you feel so obsessed with enforcing your opinion (saying that something is a fact doesn't make it a fact, unless you provide a widely recognised source for this information. You aren't some kind of scientist like Newton who discovered the law of gravity, and it is self-proven from that moment on), you are free to do so. And I am free to disagree. If you show me an officially stated definition of Fakemon by Bulbapedia or some widely renowned person relevant to the games, I will accept it. Otherwise, each can keep his/her own definition, without bad feelings.
  24. @Filthy Casual Precisely. For more info on that, https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Δ_Delta_Species_(TCG)
