  1. One thing I dislike about ground mono is how they hit each other in doubles a lot. You have some great mons for sure(plus some real powerhouses) but magnitude, bulldoze, and earthquake hit the ally too so you're oftentimes hurting yourself in doubles. Also they're sloowwww. There are a lot of fun ones though. Also in the beginning you're pretty limited, there's like a grand total of 2 pokemon before pulse tangrowth? One which might not even show up(numel), one which requires headbutt(burmy), nincada I think maybe but like why even bother and your starter? Ah wait there's the onix too, forgot about him. Guess it's not so bad. I'd take turwig over mudkip though since mudkip gets wrecked by tangrowth/flobot, making your rough start even rougher. Though I suppose julia's oricorio would be tough to deal with using turtwig.
  2. Yeah these two are annoying, I forget which fight it was(I believe it's a later fight but I know they had passimian) but I had issues with them too and their passimian is nasty in how badly it can hurt your team. Generally grass types are good for meteor since they use a lot of rock types(especially a grass with high defense like leafeon). One thing I find annyoying is how the liza/tate duo like to set up screens which will drastically hamper your offense Do you have the movesets/abilities for your mons? It'd help. I suppose they're setting up screens too which is hampering your offensive power as well?
  3. Gotta love how fern gave a challenge,  yet Flobot was a pushover and clean sweep. Cherrim sets up sunny day -> roselia sets up growths -> total destruction.  The growth/sunny day combo is your friend early game haha.

    2 badges down!

wow even the tank cradily? Florinia's ace always gives me trouble cause it keeps setting its defenses and it's pretty much PP stall every time xD

      Monochrome_Complex

Cradily got taken out in one hit. He was actually my least concern since unlike the others my STABs could hit him for neautral.

  4. Grass monorun has me hating fern's change in starters more than ever. Screw dartrix.

also bellsprout SUCKS. Vine whip is its bread and butter for like, ever.

  5. UGH PULSE  Tangrowth is SUCH a massive pain in grass monorun.  Must have taken like 8 attempts and a ton of luck, plus me having to grind up cherubi to learn sunny day. I basically had to have cherubi set up sunny day, have roselia put it to sleep with grass whistle(ha dat 55% accuracy), then pray it doesn't wake up next turn so I can set up growths,  put it to sleep again once it wakes up, hope acid spray never criticals whenever it does wake, and I had to get a crit of my own on at least one of my +6 mega drains. Roselia was only able to do it due to a lucky streak of 3 turn sleeps, a crit, and surviving a +2 tangrowth(due to his own growth)/-2(off a previous acide spray) acid spray with only 1 HP. What a wild ride.

Bayleef was useless in this fight, as it has a -attk nature so its cut was dealing scratch damage.

RIP once I get to taka haha. Though I should have meganium by then and more than 3 pokemon.

That's why I loved my Chespin in my Mono-Grass Run (even though I started back in E16). Bulletproof neutralizes Acid Spray, while Pin Missle deals good damage (and has a field boost against Flobot, btw).

Anyways, enjoy your run and may Taka/Corey have mercy on you!

Yeah last time I tried a grass run taka/ZEL fight was MADNESS.  I remember it being very, very hard. Chatter, tangrowth, glaceon...UGH That fight is designed to kick your grass.

But then again I remember flobot being harder and this time she was easy so idk, maybe I'll figure something out. I think Meganium can take at least one  chatter.

    4. Neco

      Neco

Do you have Stun Spore on your Roselia? It should be able to survive a Chatter given it's high Sp.Def. And a paralyzed Satan is easier to handle 😂

  6. Started a grass monorun, with chikorita as starter. Just beat Julia! That oricorio is a devil lol.

  7. Something's up with budew's info here, I didn't see it during night nor this morning despite satisfying the weather, is it post julia or daytime only? EDIT: huh it finally showed up. I think rose incense can't be equipped either, and it'll spawn once you enter somewhere than exit out.
  8. Beat Hardy!!! It took about 5 attempts, his pokemon are quite fast and hit very hard. Protect/detect/etc are your friend, as on his field his pokemon get hurt when they miss an attack. I "really" wish I had megaswampert for this fight as I feel he could've wrecked house with some rain set up but alas. I didn't have wide guard either, nor could I tutor iron head to Steelix <_<. It was a bit of a struggle and I had to come back with swampert at a slightly higher level as waterfall wasn't KOing megadactyl initially. Donphan ended up being MVP for the fight(qf)uick claw + scary face helped slow down a lot of his blitzers, allowing megacham to finish them of and of course togedamaru changing the terrain helped a bunch. The main issue was his pokemon outspeeding everyone. and archeops being a right pain. That dusk lycanroc is gross too, but off the rocky field it doesn't hit as had and tsareena was able to survive a rock slide from less than half HP by like 5 HP, then finish it. I kept gigalith in since it's the only slow mon on his team and donphan knocking off its choice band made it not too big a threat. I won't say he was the hardest gym leader, somewhere around serra or aya's level. Easier than Titania(well kind of, I think his pokemon handle better outside their native field) but harder than amaria or radomus for sure.

    PS Lumi is adorbs.

  9. As a guilty gear fan, I was soooo aware of the meme in regards to the ever lovable Bridget. I used to think of it as simply a comedic meme but I wasn't aware of its offensive connotations until corrected on another forum. I thought it was an overreaction at the time(since I never saw it used hatefully just as a meme usually) but then after hearing a story in the news about a guy who stabbed his date like 100 times when he found out they were trans yeah I see why in such a context it's messed up. I don't think most people are trying to be dicks when using it but it's something that just has some really bad implications even if they aren't necessarily intended. Shouldn't be hard to cut out one's vocabulary, honestly.
  10. I think people need to realize that competitive doesn't necessarily translate well to in-game too. like feraligtr isn't THAT great in reborn not just do to fields and being a water type, but also because the favorite competitive sets for him aren't available until very late in the game. Typhlosion neds up being better in reborn due to fields, similarly delphox and raw charizard benefit off the field system and have more effective movepools for the journey of the game.
  11. Hardy calling shelly "shell bell" is just the cutest thing.

      LIVIN LIKE A ROCKSTAR

  12. This is the wrongest thing I ever read Incineroar rocks, I trained mine to be bulky and he was tough as hell, something fire types don't do too well really. I remember beating titania's aegislash solely because of Incineroar as aegislash foolishly went for shadow sneak on a low health incineroar, he survived, chuckled, and darkest lariated aegislash to oblivion. It was glorious. I remember intimidate being a part of my strat to beat garchomp too. People who disrespect Incineroar shall never know true happiness.
  13. Just got to hardy's gym and what the heck is this!!!???? Music notation? Noooooo it's like alien speak. I actually turned the game off haha. Yeah another time,  this is basically a classroom lesson.

I'll admit I just looked up how the puzzle was done, since the gauntlet had worn out my patience by that time......even with the dream(?) sequence and flashback as a bit of break between the two.

      Autumn Zephyr

Reading music ain't my forte (heh), but I was able to figure it out on my own eventually. Definitely helps that they don't try to do anything particularly nuts... 😅

      Monochrome_Complex

I was pretty tired already when I posted that as I had done the gauntlet AND solaris so I was quite thin on patience at that point, I'll try it for real tonight.  Hopefully I catch on as TBH part of my always wanted to learn.

FTR solaris wasn't that tough, as crygonal ripped gyrados and garchomp apart and tsreena handled tyranitar easy. Excadrill/staraptor/scizor were the biggest issues.  Had to use swampert to tank and Z-move star, had steelix  take out scizor as I had volcarona boxed, and donphan for excadrill. Solaris' team is so freakin tryhard lol. He just picked the coolest looking mons lol.

  14. Hmm if you're right this is quite a revelation lol.
  15. I would think B2B battles would still suffer from the disobedience, since it's technically another battle. Hence why overlevelling is an issue in regards to gauntlets specifically.
  16. Took a look at hero hei's uploads before watching that vid, saw some SJW ATTACK MY HERO kind of crap(among other typical animu degenerate nonsense) and yeah hard pass dude. I was kind of suspicious off the obnoxious font on the thumbnail alone, but that guy is exactly the sort of usual suspect who'd of course look for conspiracies in these kinds of situations and him pushing for vic is not something done out of good faith or wanting to get to the truth as he claims, please don't be fooled by these self proclaimed "anti-sjw" sorts., which suspiciously more than one of your links seem to involve. You're gonna need some better sources to convince me dude, sorry. ANN I've already expressed distaste for before, so I'm not surprised at any shoddy journalism from them. And swatting is just awful no matter who is doing it. People responsible for fabrications and such, yeah that garbage is NOT okay and really screw those guys., we should be able to agree on that. But I feel these things don't excuse Vic's actions which is the real issue, and why all of this is happening. He needs to be held responsible for them, especially since he hasn't for so long. If he is guilty of sexually harassing fans and workers and such, then shouldn't he pay the price for it? If not and it turns out to be a big nothingburger, then he's owed a lot of apologies, and somebody's got a lot to answer for. Though I find it troubling is that you're siding with vic not because of his actions or the effect they had on those he acted on/against, but because you don't like what some of the people against him are doing? Hate to break it to you commander but those convincers you linked above aren't that much more in the know than you give them credit for as they're just anime fan youtubers who collected "research" and presented it in a way that frames the situation to fit their liking(and going by their general content, there's some definite bias going on there), which you seem just a bit too quick to eat up. Perhaps it's your drawing of similarities to your grandfather's unfortunate situation that's coloring your take on the situation but I worry you're falling into the sort of thought many conspiracy nuts end up falling into. It's a rabbit hole you're better off not going in, and one far too many especially younger men are increasingly falling into. I'll admit, I'm not quite as invested in the whole vic shebang as a lot of fans as I personally don't hold VAs in a particularly high regard, as I don't to celebrities in general. They're still human, subject to human flaws and I find it foolish to idolize them. I mean when I see these guys talk like vic was their hero and #istandwithvic and stuff I kind of just roll my eyes, selfish as it seems. They don't know this man and it's not like vic saved the world or something, he's just an actor. It's kind of absurd really, but what we can judge vic by are his actions, and if his actions have been shown to be well crappy and something being held responsible for, so be it. But so far this whole thing about this conspiracy to take down vic and trying to absolve him of blame just doesn't sit right with me.
  17. You say he doesn't seem like the type who'd go around harassing people, problem with this is that you do not know the man. People who do bad things, ESPECIALLY celebrities often don't seem like "the type" yet history as shown us that rarely does a person show their worst qualities in their public persona, and manipulative people know exactly how to hide these qualities from the public and lead people to believe they're not there(see Bill Cosby lol). The guy is married with a wife and daughter after all, there's really no justifiable reason he should be fooling around with other girls anyway. Fans shouldn't pretend they know vic, especially when his actions are showing him in a different light. I understand wanting to take an innocent until proven guilty approach but it does feel like, even if unintentional you seem somewhat biased yourself in how much benefit of the doubt you're giving vic here, a very troubling yet too common problem regarding men in power in regards to harassing women. You call the cases "amusing,' which gives an impression of downplaying the allegations and there even feels like this sense of hoping he is innocent (which admittedly is a bit understandable as no one wants to see a celebrity they like turn out to be an asshole), but to me this sort of exemplifies the whole issue in how sexual harassment and general mistreatment towards women from men of power gets overlooked and excused in favor of defending society's little image of said man that's been built up. I do want to see some of these sources from fans that provide proof of bias in these accusations, if you have any links, as they certainly help clear the point you're trying to make.
  18. This seems to be the case with the majority of doubles gym battles apparently. It helps with charlotte and adrinne too. I should probably get it lol. I thought
  19. Man episode 18 is craaaazy so far. That "one" fight was brutal, I was getting super salty about it too lol. I almost won once but didn't realize I still had a pokemon left, earthquake'd my volcarona and proceeded to die to the last pokemon. UGH. Oddly enough the last fight actually glitched out on me(I believe psychic terrain had something to do with it). But at that point I just wanted to get it over with lol, which was easy since the AI wasn't doing anything.

I did kind of see this happening though, in regards to a particular somebody. But yeah some pretty interesting stuff is happening.

  20. Yikes emo amaria is really unlikable huh? I'm in the worse timeline apparently. I like nice amaria a lot more, though no I still dislike her gym even if it's pretty and has good music. The battle was still pretty easy though, 3 tries but I did have to change my lead since starmie was just too fast and I didn't want to lose toge before setting off e-terrain, so first 2 attempts were me trying to lead with toge and resetting when it didn't work out. Then I realized I could just sucker punch her with skuntank lol. Cryogonal shut down kingdra and ludicolo, tsareena tanked megaswampert(barely, thankfully I changed her -def nature to an adamant one earlier today) and beat it(his sprite looks cool btw), Deliverence is tanky as she was able to barely survive a high jump kick from Megacham, though it did her little good as she used curse oddly enough. Wishiwashi I tried to KO with tsareena but power whip missed(of course) so I just had weezing destiny bond it. No way I'm getting swept by satan's fish school.

So now to ep 18 content, which I have yet to ever touch or even look at. Looking forward to best boy.

Good luck with, you will need it? Lol, Have fun with E18!

  21. Man you're a monster, it's incredible you're already this far. 30 tries? You've got killer dedication. I never knew that thing about corey's crobat not being able to hit steel types, that's actually hilarious. Funnily I find solaris/john slightly harder than fern/blake and whenever I lose this fight it's because of them. How does the game determine your partner anyway? I've only gotten Flobot on the solaris fight once but never again, it's always Julia now.
  22. I forgot how unfair the Eustace fight is. Ironically harder than Titania, since you can't heal in between.

    1. Monochrome_Complex

      Monochrome_Complex

Beat him, good riddance. Okay harder than titania is a bit of an exaggeration but he's still one of the more difficult fights.

  23. Beat Titania! Took about 5-6 tries. I actually figured out a good strategy against her.

-Lead with togedamaru, set up electric field(because fairy tale field is worst field right guys?), it dies to a-slash's earthquake + hail

-have medicham use brick break as A-slash would always use aurora veil. Easy KO

-klefki comes out next, I used choice band swampert to OHKO him with earthquake(klefki leads with calm mind), and on a bad roll he dies to hail anyway

-scizor is easy, volcarona heat wave FTW. This is why setting up electric terrain is important

-empoleon is annoying because scald would end up wasting precious turns needed for electric terrain. If scald doesn't burn Medicham's HJK insta kos, otherwise medicham dies next turn and volcarona has to finish off the penguin. HJK missing is like the worst timeline lol.

-excadrill is a right monster on the fairy tale field so I really need e-terrain to still be out when he shows up. Volcarona beats him in one hit.

-Aegislash is annoying. Or rather titania's rampant potion abuse makes it annoying. I kept messing up here either by mistiming the field expiration or untimely crits or whatever. Donphan is strong enough to 2HKO aegis even when in shield mode but titania's potion spam kind of messed this approach up, + the hail breaking sturdy. Then I realized the easy solution would be to send someone like Tsareena to basically die/get some hits in, revealing aegislash's sword mode where  he gets OHKO'd by donphan . Since sturdy allows donphan to survive whatever aegislash throws out initially it's a guranteed kill. Basically I was doing it wrong by leading against aegislash with donphan, instead I should've led with someone else. Wish I realized that sooner, it would've been a fairly easy fight if I had. Also titania's AI is weird because she kept spamming ultra potions on aesgislash despite it taking like 10% damage if that lol.

    1. SilverAngelus

      SilverAngelus

I may or may not have lead an army of Excadrill to take Titania down.

I like how specific your strategy has to be. Kinda like how I have to beat certain early leaders in Rejuv.

  24. toumaline desert + scrapyard is probably one of my favorite areas in Reborn. And I'll admit it, Taka makes the trip even better. He's got some enjoyable dialogue.
