  1. Geara and Narcissca are like the big noticeable difficulty spikes of early game Rejuv. Geara took me about 3 tries and Narcissca was the  hardest leader easily so far, mainly due to her field countering your usual go-tos for fighting ghosts. I do like the goldenleaf town arc though.

      GenEric

i beat her with lick greninja and knock off muk

she was really easy for me

      Wait hold up.

Grimer evolves at level 38. How did you get it to evolve?  The cap for Narcy is 35. Rare candies?

    3. GenEric
  2. The crits have a reason actually, the seed she's holding gives her a critical chance boost as well as boosting one of her stats, I forget which.
  3. Yeah the last zel fight is really tough <_< It was partly my fault though because I didn't want to go through the stupid floor puzzles again to change up my party. Also her alakazam never missing a single focus blast in like the 6+ attempts I spent on her.
  4. I find that a lot of people don't bother having a grass main on their team unless they started off with one. Not to mention how grass is effectively useless for charlotte and risky against blake(though actually good against half his team offensively) so by the time you reach terra they are likely underlevelled.. Then again only two of her pokemon are actually weak to grass, and both of them negate that weakness with their seeds. Plus a grass physical attacker(RIP leafeon) is useless on her field anyway. I wouldn't call her easy, because 3 of her pokemon can be very difficult to take down, 3 hit pretty hard and her field is extremely gimmicky, Luckily quasire, hippowdon and palossand aren't THAT strong offensively.
  5. The game doesn't rig itself against the player as far as I know, and there have been times where I 've gotten rotten luck(like serra's frosslass freezing incineroar off one ice beam, him never defrosting then sweeping the entire party or when a wild diglett made me flinch 6 times straight with astonish) . That said none of the fights are completely unwinnable, and you can actually beat all of them without using a single potion or revive if you prepared a good team and know what you're doing. Mind you for terra her Garchomp can spam draco meteor and never suffer the penalty drop since that field uses the higher special stat to determine the damage of special moves, thus it's using Garchomp's special defense meaning the special attack drop off Draco meteor doesn't actually weaken it. It's best to drop garchomp's special defense instead if you plan on weakening it.
  6. I never realized how good oddish was for an early mon until playing Rejuv. He's tougher than I initially thought. But now I need a leaf stone haha. Found a water, fire, and thunder one. But still no leaf <_<

Also dedenne has been putting in work.  Saved my butt a couple of times too. Pika clones are usually reliable  choices for early game mons. Thing is in Reborn dedenne just shows up way too late to appreciate. I feel like dedenne should be moved  up much earlier in Reborn. maybe around the period during Corey's or shelly's gym.

  7. I'm mono, I just replied to his status update since that's where the original question was asked and he considered making it into a thread anyway. My reply was what he posted, just think of it as a first reply to a thread. I don't believe he said I was contradicting anything.
  8. This sucks. My laptop is acting incredibly lame and just started running at like half speed to where rejuv can't even finish a battle as the script hangs making it unplayable. Restarting fixes this for like 5 minutes then it happens again. I had the same issue with Reborn for a while but it kind of stopped happening, but now it's doing it all over again. I have no clue how to fix this and it's ruining my day.

  9. I actually like Fern's interactions with some of the other cast members. Like even they think he's an egotistical jerk and responds to him differently. Julia kind of treats him as just an annoyance, he actually gets somewhat emotional when calling out Flobot at the fiore mansion showdown and dare I say seems even slightly hurt by that confrontation, he's a bully to Aya and has long time beef with Hardy, and despite selling out to Meteor he doesn't kiss any ass due to his enormous ego nor is he afraid to trash talk Blake. I also really like him during episode 2 with the whole onyx school thing. i feel that chapter is when his rivalry with the player really takes form and I just loved the "top dog" of onyx school gathering up all his lackeys to stop you from hurting his pride by beating the gym. There was some catharsis to shaming Fern at his home turf,.
  10. So far sirius is like the most mustache twirling "I so evil" character in the game. There's an enigmatic aspect to Lin and a hint there's some ulterior motives to her actions but everything sirius seems to do is just to be an asshole. Amaria was great early on but she gets progressively more annoying throughout the game and is at her worst in episode 17. Probably the biggest fall from grace. Bennet for coming off as a future incel lol. Aya is probably the most annoying good guy, complains way too much. And Heather pre-episode 15. Titania for being the biggest tryhard in the game, but ep 17 and her gym rose her up for me so she's not my least favorite anymore. Out of these 5? I'm not sure. Heather was insufferable early on but Amaria's character decline is kind of sad. Aya's only good in regards to her interactions with other characters. Hmm. I'll go with Sirius.
  11. How do I purify shadow pokemon again? I totally forgot lol. Or do you have to beat the 2nd gym first?

      whoops, Rejuvenation.

    3. Elvenlore

      Elvenlore

According to a quick Google search: "As their Heart Gauges go down, they are able to regain some of their former moves. Once the Heart Gauge is completely empty, the Shadow Pokemon can be taken to Dr. Jenkel (only once, may fail) or to Eldest in Purify forest to completely purify it."

    4. Monochrome_Complex

      Monochrome_Complex

Ahh okay, I totally forgot how I did it first time I played. I know I got them purified but totally forgot how it was done. I thought I had to go to the unown library so I was kind of wondering when that part comes lol. Thanks dude :]

  12. Diggersby is my choice. I detest diggesby. Bunnelby was cute, but then it evolves into this shit-faced monstrosity and UGH. The dirt beard is just gross, its stupid expression makes it look like a moronic jerk, it looks fat and lazy, the ugly girdle fur, its color scheme is hideous and its entire design just lacks any charm. It's a shame because the concept is neat, its typing unique and it's one of the better early rodents in the franchise gameplay wise, but oh my god the execution, nope. I can not get past its design and no matter the artist or presentation diggersby just looks downright repulsive to me. Even its cry sounds gross. And like...bunnelby was kind of cute. A bit derpy but it had some charm. Then diggersby just totally ruins it. I hate this thing. It's my most hated pokemon. More than Golbat(who at least has crobat to look forward too, and more than barboach(whose crime is being excruciatingly boring), Digegrsby is a whole league of suck in its own.
  13. First time playing Rejuv in a loooong time(I think last time was version 6? I remember Valerie being OP) and I gotta say it's come a long way.  Jan, zumi and crew: you guys have done an exquisite job with this game. The presentation is done very well and the game just feels so much more polished than it was earlier on.  I'm enjoying it a lot more this time(though I still enjoyed it the first time, don't get me wrong) and just it feels so good to play.

Currently just beat the dimensional gyrados, who seemed a lot easier compared to the first time I fought him lol

    1. Dreamy

      Dreamy

Yea the revamps to the earlier areas of the game in the last couple version really enhanced the game, but so much of it is great.

and yea rift gyarados became a bunch weaker, but I think now you're actually supposed to win?

    2. Monochrome_Complex

      Monochrome_Complex

Ah so I wasn't misremembering, it did get weaker.  I'm in love with the menus, they're so snazzy  and the way the cutscenes are framed now is a nice touch too.

And I still got the infamous 3rd floor whooping lol, just like last time. At least it feels a bit less random and I know now those kinds of trainers are like that for a reason.

I'm gonna go play some more, been waiting all day at work to come home and Rejuv lol.

  14. As someone who has zero interest in hentai or fanservicey anime...Shin Cutey Honey. I just like Cutey Honey's character in general(even named my rimbombee last playthrough it lol),cheesy as it is and the theme song is like top anime opening themes. But I watched the dub on youtube for shin cutey honey on whim and was surprisingly entertained even with the over the top fanservice and vulgarity. Originally I only watched it because Devilman was in an episode(well akira fuudo technically as he never transforms) but the whole thing ended up mindless fun, if nothing else. Sadly the last few episodes were never made but it's fun.
  15. Beat Amaria, took 3 attempts. Honestly she seemed kind of easy? Toxicorak with dry skin can solo  half of her team as they deal little damage to it(mine was only level 81 too) and it can sludge up the field via sludge wave as well. Her biggest threat was rotom(of course lol) but the rest of her team wasn't too bad. I felt like she should've been fought before titania, as Titania has a tougher team. Amaria doesn't even have a mega!!!

    2. Autumn Zephyr

      Autumn Zephyr

Looking at the wiki, it seems that the Z-Move user is her kingdra in Singles (Devastating Drake off of Dragon Pulse), and her blastoise in Doubles (All-Out Pummeling off of Aura Sphere). You can't even use your Dry Skin as an explanation!

...Said look also revealed that she uses the battle style opposite of what you tell her in the Reshiram Route, rather than just defaulting to Tsunami Mode Ultra. Welp, that's nice to know!

    3. Monochrome_Complex

      Monochrome_Complex

Ahhh okay. I used florges against kingdra so the only thing it could really do was inflict burn with scald lol. ice beam barely scratched her.

    4. Azeria

      Azeria

She's notorious for being one of the easiest bosses in the game.

  16. Yes but not necessarily in a way that's always a bad thing, given that you're willing to put in the time. Chances are that your pokemon's EVs as you play through the story are less than optimal unless you've specifically grinded them beforehand, which you can't do efficiently until a certain point of the game anyway. On the other hand a freshly caught high level pokemon while worse off initially has a fresh set of EVs and thus are more easy to get optimal spreads for. Problem is that their movesets are usually lacking or already missed their best moves, especially for stone mons, so you'll have to rely on TMs or move relearners Of course breeding gives a fresh set of EVs AND better move potential so it's the best option, but requires the most time investment. Of course natures and IVs come into play as well.
  17. If you think cain is hard now wait till his next rumble with you.
  18. Okay so wait hold up, according to the badge list you need both amy and titania's badge to get level 90 pokemon to obey you but I only have titania's yet it still gave me the level 90 obedience cap.

    1. GenEric

      GenEric

because amy’s doesnt raise the cap

    2. Monochrome_Complex

      Monochrome_Complex

So was amy's badge supposed to be received first? I know it doesn't raise the cap but according to the badge list in-game the second badge was supposed to raise the cap, not the first.

  19. pokemon let's go looks lame IMO. Goood for the Go fans, but a pokemonswitch should be so much more.

  20. I totally ignored that guy because I didn't feel like raising a mothim lol. Regret lol.
  21. psychic/ground type because I'm down to earth and keep to myself. I'm always thinking and empathetic to people's emotions. HP: 60 because I'm skinny and fat pokemon have high HP. attk- uhhh 70? I'm not physically very strong. Enough to do some physical labor on a regular basis though. def: 75 I guess. I can take slightly more than I can dish out sp attk: 110 I can be pretty persuasive IRL and know how to hit a person emotionally where it hurts. sp def: 120 Not much of a follower, I do my own thing and form my own opinions nor am I tempted easily. I'm pretty disciplined at work too. sp: 120: people tell me i'm always running or in a rush. I do move kind of fast and am never late haha 555 BST.
  22. Whoa wait what trade? I wish I had it before lol.
  23. Learned about Chinese government's treatment of Uyghurs today via an article. I figured it was bad because being a muslim minority of course they'll be mistreated since it seems to happen everywhere sadly but  I was ignorant of how bad it was.  "Re-education" aka concentration camps(torture included)  for uyghur men and forced marriages of Uyghur women to Han chinese men.  It's basically ethnic cleansing. Screw China's government.

    1. Shamitako

      Shamitako

Oh yeah, China's real nasty. The horror stories for Christians are pretty brutal too. I'm sure many other ethnic and religious groups have it equally bad as well.

  24. Zero regrets picking litten as my starter this playthrough. He's been hauling his weight for sure. Only issue is his speed(mine has a low speed nature so it's even worse) but that sort of works out for my trick room tactics anyway. He destroyed adrienne's mawile

    Incineroar is awesome.

  25. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is great, though I prefer the sonic 3 portion to the "and Knuckles" portion. My favorite levels are ice cap, Launch Base and Lava Reef, with ice cap being especially memorable for me due to not being able to pass Carnival for like ever(yes the barrel lol). My least favorite. zone? Easily Death Egg for being ugly palette wise, having tough bosses and seemingly always running out of time. Sandopolis as well due to the high amount of crush kills in it and being too long of a level. Act 1's sand is really gross looking too. The ghost gimmick in act 2 is stressful but admittedly it's an interesting one. The big arm theme and sonic 3 act 1 boss are the best boss themes in the game. Doomsday is good too. Only one I don't care for is the sonic and knuckles act 1 boss.
