  1. Protip: take off the nostalgia goggles, the "newer pokemon are trash/worse than the classics" is in your head and bias wrought by your attachment to older ones. Liking newer pokemon isn't going to de-legitimatize your love for older ones or anything, so having such a negative attitude towards them only cheats you out of discovering some great pokemon. I had this attitude initially back when 4th gen first hit but then I started to like more and more of the pokemon as I played through diamond and now 4th gen is probably my 2nd favorite generation. Bewear is a great example. He's quite good and reliable, but you're so busy judging a book by its cover and attaching it to trite memes you'd never realize this because you didn't give it a chance. Also your "newer pokemon get little thought in concept" is pure nonsense. How is rowlett's line "little thought?" Little thought went into the UBs or tapus? I know opinions and all but that complaint in particular seems unfounded and reeks of unfair bias.
  2. The lycanroc slam hurts. shame on you guys, he's rad. And he's only gonna get radder. I realized i never picked my least favorites.
  3. I'd wait. I want to use litten and lariat my way through reborn.
  4. Sheryl looks good, but I have a weakness for red haired characters. I really got to start getting in on these leagues but I'm SO indecisive on what to use. Hmm Usually with these I like to use pokemon I don't typically use. I'll try and have a team ready by next week, for this and redemption.
  5. Lin explodes in the vision, not simply sliced to pieces.
  6. if one IV = one stat point at level 100, what does it mean at level 50?
  7. Is Lin a dark or dragon specialist? The adult Lin could be a zoroark or something if she's dark. I thought she was dragon all this time but I could be wrong.
  8. TIL Z is said Zed in Britain and Canada.

  9. Having goosebumps right now, I had such a terrifying dream! Well it didn't start off scary at all, just typical dream weirdness but what I remember most was playing this weird Anarchy Reigns-like game involving these sisters fighting each other where on was like this cute punk girl(the one I was playing), the other a witch that looked a bit like Tessa from Red Earth and some other one I can't describe. It wasn't super violent or anything and even had a whimsical feel to it as the level was a casino-like level reminiscent of Casinopolis from Sonic series. I was having a difficult time with the game lol and was losing but still kept playing since it was sort of fun. Other stuff happened too but it was nothing bad or anything, just weird and spontaneous.

However out of NOWHERE I suddenly just feel this horrible sense of coming behind me and someone or rather SOMETHING is near. I can't visualize it clearly at all, but it's vaguely humanoid, completely black with glowing, blank eyes and an angry, fanged scowl with a visage not unlike that of some demon or monster. It's running towards me incredibly fast  and just feels wrong  in every way. It's like an invader which doesn't belong at all and seeks nothing more than to harm me. It's an incredibly jarring feeling as the dream beforehand just felt unpredictable at most but always had a sense of whimsy and safety. But not anymore, this invader has changed that completely, because it is terrifying. I want to speak, but the invader has gotten very close to me, breathing rapidly and deeply like a rabid beast, then grabs the back of my head. Its very touch feels like fire and I can feel its hatred radiating from it, just this oppressive feeling of dread that leaves me powerless to resist. Then it forcefully throws me across the room and I hit the floor like a toy thrown by a misbehaved child, lying on the ground shaken and defeated. I want to scream,  but only a meek, hushed help escapes my lips before the invader is on me again. It grabs my head then forcefully slams my face against the ground, with a flash of red and sensation of dull pain being the only thing I feel before waking up covered in sweat and fear.

What made this invader so terrifying was how it was able to invade the sanctity of the mind and basically ruin any degree of positive emotion I had withinthe dream. There was no build up for it or anything, it just didn't belong and felt like it wanted nothing more than to just hurt me. But not out of some sadistic pleasure, but out of some unexplained malice and hatred for me. Thing is I've had this very same invader appear in my dreams before, but it only happened once  and it was much the same: coming out of nowhere, unable to visualize it really but feel its awful presence, it not really saying anything but wanting nothing more to hurt, and doing it in a very violent way that left me scared and even in pain. It was a while ago too to where I couldn't even remember it until now after it came back.

I don't know what this invader is, but it's one of the scariest nightmares I've had. My past nightmares are usually very emotional, the most vivid ones I can recall being something that made me sad(my saddest one involved finding a child I had befriended dying while we were out), extremely uncomfortable(some yellow weird headless body sexually molesting me in an enclosed room),  dying in some way or extremely terrified(several times they involved strange indescribable monsters with the worst being this hulking black metallic bull-esque monster who killed everyone including me). But the Invader stands out because even with the monsters there was some warning or reasoning beforehand within the dream  of the danger they were, but not with this one. It just came so suddenly, without any warning whatsoever. It's like being violated or something and felt worse than the others. Such a terrifying thing, and I keep trying to rationalize it but can't. What is it supposed to be? I'm pretty skeptical of the supernatural but was it some sort of demon, djinn, or malicious spirit, or at least how my subconscious would envision such a thing if it existed?

I had to write all this, I just felt so shaken waking up. Definitely a rude awakening haha. Oohhh I just realized that I got irritations on my skin in 3 different places too, big red bumps.  I've been getting these a lot this summer but the past few weeks they had stopped. These happened overnight...the Invader possibly could've been whatever gave me these bites(likely a spider), and my subconscious picked up its presence within my dream yet somehow got it twisted into this horrifying enigma. That would explain the Invader wanting to hurt me somewhat and it's sudden intrusion, but not its malice.  I don't think spiders hate me that much lol and I actually quite like them.

Looking at it that way makes me feel better about the ordeal, honestly.

Thanks, I'm feeling better now, hoping I get a good sleep tonight. And yeah the human mind is incredible, and it can be incredibly scary too.

  10. I notice this to be a reoccurring thing in regards to serperior, and another reason discussing the NFE forms is important. Contrary is a double-edged sword for snivy line pre-leaf storm as it can't take advantage of growth or coil due to it, meaning it has to rely on stat drops from the opponent if wants to do any real damage early on. While this can work in some battles, contrary can actually be a hindrance at times and further stifle snivy's already unimpressive offense. Snivy relies on buffs for its damage and contrary can potentially lock you out of doing that which is why it may be better off to start off with overgrow snivy then change its ability via capsule later on once it gets leaf storm.

did RWBY start another season or something?

  12. Interesting topic! I'm no fashionista but I'll give my thoughts: Kanto: It seems pretty temperate climate wise with not being as cold as sinnoh nor as hot as some of the other regions. I feel a more modernized Kanto would reflect current popular JP fashion trends more but the region sort of feels stuck in the 90s/early 2000s since our journeys to Kanto have always been from that time. The older crowd would probably dress more conservatively and professionally while the younger crowd a bit more stylish. Johto: Johto is a bit more rural than Kanto and the denizens at least in HGSS seem dressed for their environment. Pryce lives near the mountains and dresses warmly, Morty wears long sleeves and a scarf, bugsy his little adventure outfit, and chuck forgoes tops all together as he lives near the beach. Cooler colors seemed favored here, though whitney and Jasmine wear more neatural ones. Ah it should be noted that sports seems popular in Johto, so I think sportswear would be a common choice as well. I get the impression Johto-folk are more outgoing and enjoy physical activities more than their more business oriented, insular Kanto counterparts. Hoenn: they have a more wild style to them and dress more flamboyantly, perhaps moreso than any other region. Feels like in Hoenn standing out is the name of the game and going by the dorks in dewford I feel there's this weird fixation on being "hip" in Hoenn. The warmer climate allows for more skin to be shown and I get the sense Hoenners are more expressive and free spirited in general which plays into their dress sense. Sinnoh: the colder environment seems to play a part here, and jackets/longcoats are popular. However young girls, perhaps against common logic, like to show off their legs so expect to see some skirts and shorts. Sinnoh's fashion sense always had this sense of modern-retro to me, perhaps best exemplified by Flint and Lucien who sort of have this late 60s/70s vibe with a mid 2000s twist. This mix of old and new plays very much into Sinnoh's beliefs, where the myths of old are still honored and passed down in a modern society. I feel this results in an eccentric style that one would find either charming or just plain weird. Unova: the style of choice here reflects the urban melting pot that is the unova region. The colors feel warmer overall and have a variety of different styles, yet all adapted to a western sensibility. The region isn't as warm as Hoenn or Alola and while short sleeves are common, not as much skin is shown here. People seem to take their jobs seriously in Unova and dress accordingly for such, so high end suits and sportswear is expected here. Kalos : the self proclaimed fashion capital of the pokemon world, fashion is an essential part of Kalosian culture and they take it very seriously. Outfits are stylish, yet must be functional, expressive yet tasteful, and posses a degree of elegance which every Kalosian is expected to carry within themselves. Clothes alone are not a concern either, but also one's hairstyle, as they all send a message of what you're all about. Fashion in Kalos is a language all its own, with even the color of fabrics having a subtle meaning. So important is fashion in Kalos that stores will even refuse you service if they feel you're not fit to wear their clothes! The rich and powerful of Kalos are especially known for their vivid and expressive outfits, such as lysandre and his much beloved "pyroar's mane" of hair. Foreigners may find the fashion culture of Kalos intimidating and while this is partially true, once they understand its nuances and importance they too will appreciate how it shapes everyday Kalosian life. Alola: much like hoenn, Alola is a generally warm region and heavily impacts the fashion there, perhaps even to a more extreme level. Here comfort and ease is placed above all else so those expecting formal attire will find themselves disappointed, as much of Alola's fashion is VERY causual. Short sleeves, tanks, skirts, and shorts are "elite 4" of Alolan fashion, and there appears to be a big love for designer sneakers and shoes as well. The clothes offer vivid and striking patterns to balance out their simplicity, and clothes are loose fitting for max comfort. Showing skin is common in alola, so people take good care of their bodies to show. In addition to this, clothes and patterns honoring Alola's customs of old are readily available and favored among the older generations in particular. The younger generations favor street wear and accessories like wristbands and bandannas to flourish their look.
  13. OMG Hilarious. RIP the savage. But holy crap what a win.
  14. Lol did elliot get promoted to champ or something? I remember him breaking a ton of hearts.
  15. WAIT the savage isn't shade? I was under the impression that's who he was before he you know, died.
  16. @Hooligan:Marshadow is a mythical and has to stand out somehow against the already powerful set of mythics, and well GF did a pretty good job with that lol. Personally I love spectral thief and its punishing set-up gimmick. Every Mew-esque mythical is annoying to fight or has a really strong move.
  17. I wonder if multiple z moves means using the same z move more than once or z moves with multiple pokemon? Or still one pokemon but it lets us like, use two z-moves of the same type, i.e z swords dance then breackneck blitz another turn.

    1. Busti

      Use ALL the Z-moves!

  18. So the ultra spaces so far are: nihelgo - the glowy cave from SM vanilla. xurxitree - some greyish blue cord-like place. Take note that the unused walking animation for xurxitree is used here. Hmmm. Buzzwole - an exotic tropical volcano filled place. Like alola on steroids? lol. Kartana - perhaps the japanese esque area from the earlier trailer? I wonder how many we;ll get total? I'm still weirded out burst isn't fairy. Fire/fairy seemed like the obvious typing for it. But NAW we get a 3rd fire/ghost instead.
  19. a moment of silence for any chance of  UB assembly being good.

  20. As much as I would LOVE this it's simply too much of a size burden. It'd be awesome if every leader had a spin on the typical leader theme like a change in tempo or instruments or remixes to suit their character more(Julia's being more peppy and fast tempo'd, hardy's being more guitar driven and heavy) but alas this like mentioned above would increase the game's size too much. Terra and shade already have their own gym themes(bring back shade's pre-16 theme plz), so it technically has happened to some extent already. Personally in addition to the terra/shade one i'd have 3 gym themes: one for the more lighthearted gym battles(julia, shelly, ciel, adrienne), which ep16's gym theme fullfills. A more serious theme for the leaders who are more intense or serious(cory, kiki, radomus, florinia) using the older gym leader theme. I feel the 3rd one sort of covers the middle ground(aya, serra, luna, samson), maybe using a zinnia remix since tonally it sort of fits between the two. As for personal picks of alternative themes from other games(just for fun), I feel this one fits Julia well, it totally sounds like her. This one fits Corey well, the vent noises even fit him using poison gas for his field! The name is a bit messed up considering his fate though This one for Kiki. I had trouble deciding between it and Ketsui no toki, which also fits her well. Ironically the song is called Aya lol. For serra, the opening notes sound kind of crystaline and the violin hints at her sadness and regrets. The guitar gives off a sharp toughness which you expect from ice, beautiful but hard and sharp. I really like this one for Luna
  21. I was under the impression seed flare ALWAYS lowered special defense, but it's only 40%. I must be extremely unlucky then because it always dropped whenever I fought it in randoms. That makes it not so broke I guess. But goodness me, there's some fairly unsung legendaries in the legal list. Though not entei? i just find the picks of legendary allowance kind of weird. It isn't totally by tier because entei isn't allowed yet cobalion is, despite both being UU. @Jman: your team seems a bit fairy prone, no? 4 of them weak to fairy, and your only counter is neutral resist to it, not to mention cobalion is running special off a 90 base where many fairies tank special hits better to where it might not even get a needed KO.
  22. shaymin is allowed? Even with broke ass seed flare? You sure you guys want to do that?
  23. Not so much that I love it, but This guy is pretty underrated and was quite useful during my bW2 water monorun. Unova has a pretty limited selection of water types during the main game and Basculin is probably among your strongest physical one until post game(with azumarill being the only one to outclass it), due to adaptability . Unlike azumarill it has fairly decent speed of 98 so it won't get outsped quite as much(which I found to be a major weakness with azumarill) and in fact I ended up replacing samurott with it since he hit harder and was faster. However what really makes this guy fun is final gambit, which is quite useful in earlier PWT rounds or for softening up tougher opponents like kyreum. I never tried out the other two abilities, but if you want a ahrd hitting physical water type for Unova's main game, Basculin is totally worth considering.
