  1. Yeah definitely use trick room against Hawlucha(who's kind of broken in this fight, he can easily wreck your entire team due to the seed/field boost), but be careful about conkledurr who can abuse trick room just as hard and is tough to take down. also his Lucario has a focus sash and swords dance + extreme speed, keep that in mind. If you can OHKO it samson may use a potion to heal it which will give you a free turn to kill it.
  2. I don't hate sapphira or Titania for killing meteor goons(they're terrorists after all and threw the value of their lives away the minute they walked that path), in fact Sapphirra is my favorite female character in the game, but I hate titania because she's got such an awful attitude and comes off as a very offputting/ungrateful jerk. I don't like Terra because she kind of kills immersion a bit with her overly memetic speech and rminds me of tina from boderlands which is not a good thing lol. She is pretty funny sometimes though and her episode is among the best in the game. Sirius so far comes off as the flattest villain. He's just purely diabolical yet underhanded about it(compared to the other Meteor bigshots), and feels like the Starscream who is going to turn against Solaris later on. But so far all we have from his character is that he's a very sinister, underhanded person. Feels like everything we know about him comes down to sirius being villainous but not much else. Mind you i just finished 16 so maybe episode 17 will flesh him out more, if he appears.
  3. Just beat adrienne after spending like an 40 minutes on xym. Is it odd I find Granbull one if xyr most troublesome pokemon? Intimidate, bulky, knows close combat(which totally took my poor a-slash by surprise on attempt) and earthquake to cover its weaknesses. Only weakness is that it's slow really.   It and Mawile are a real headache.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

Granbull is deadly in the right hands due to coverage, decent bulk and being one of the more consistance Scizor checks for fairy due to intimidate fire punch

    2. Zargerth

      Zargerth

Yeah, that Granbull can be a real pain if you're not carrying a mon with Defiant.

  4. The darkrai avi makes a lot more sense now lol.
  5. Cody's trailer for SFV is out yeeeeaaah!!!!

  6. Huh albino ari is kind of neat. The cloyster one would be good if the inner shell and cloyster himself were different colors. The outer shell looks pretty legit. Meloetta is fine, and I kind of like the scizor one.
  7. Ugh I hate the conveyor puzzles in devon building. Such a slog.

  8. Blue Water, Blue Sky is one of those videogame soundtracks that never fails to make me smile. It's so lovely.

  9. On Delphox: I used it on my psychic/ice dual run and I was very impressed with it, it completely turned around my opinion on it. Delphox was even able to wreck shade despite the type disadvantage with mist support from swinub as mystical fire gets a buff on the misty field. I also like it for a being a fire type that play support as well, it's more versatile than the typical fire starters. On Persian: yeah, Persian is no slouch and technician makes it very useful. That said I ended up benching mine around apophyll I feel like had I EV trained it it would've stayed longer but considering it was the second pokemon I caught it definitely proved useful in its short career. I On simipour: finally some respect for this poor thing. I can't say I ever used it in Reborn but it naturally learns scald AND acrobatics, with decent speed and offensive stats,, along with a good type. Not just underrated, but very underappreciated. Also it's a Kogal which is kind of cool. on arbok: the lord of debuffs, this guy can downsize big threats and make them much more manageable for your team. I used him in a previous playthrough and kept him all the way until Charlotte. I'd actually like to throw a mention for another vastly underappreciated mon, Grumpig. Far from the best psychic type but my current playthrough Grumpig has definitely earned her keep(just beat Ciel). Spoink is actually not too bad in itself early on(it's one of the better early game psychics) but Grumpig's solid special bulk and thick fat makes it excellent for setting up trick rooms/rain/sun. Power gem adds a nice option against fire/ice/bug/flying types. I only wish it had a better recovery move than rest but so long as you keep Grumpig to its role it can be surprisingly useful whole game.
  10. Oricorio pom pom is a BEAST against ciel. It almost scored a clean sweep against her, only reason it didn't was because he hit level 76 right before facing altaria and ignored orders lol. The rest of my team was able to handle it thankfully.

  11. only thing about contrary snivy is that its offense can possibly stink even worse than vanilla snivy as you can't buff it with growth unless you get the ai to use growl or something. This isn't an issue later on but early game it can be. Before I lost the save I remember wishing I had used overgrow snivy at the start and then switching over to contrary later on via ability capsule, as contrary snivy can't take advantage of sun like regular can. Remember that growth on forest field and sun sharply increases offenses, which snivy is going to want to do in order to deal meaningful damage as it's not too strong otherwise.
  12. Like it's already bad enough with Onix but steelix's unimpressive attack is what really gets to me. I love his look but I always find myself disappointed how soft it hits compared to how it looks like it should be hitting. I feel it's a victim of early gen stat distribution, where stats that were passable back then simply aren't good enough now. I guess that's why it has curse but MEH.
  13. I'd go with rowlett since you won't be able to get any other ghost/grass for a while and rowlett comes with flying type.
  14. I remember tv tropes has a trope called the fake ultimate mook or something like that, basically it's when an enemy who looks intimidating and tough ends up being a pushover or not all that much tougher than a regular enemy. It used to be called Level 5 Onix, as onix very much embodies the trope. But I agree it's insanely stupid how this 20 ft massive snake of living stone hits no harder than a jigglypuff. Perhaps THE primary example of a pokemon's design betrayed by its actual game stats.
  15. I like Blake's old team more.  His new ace fits but the other additions are kind of random feeling. I'm not following the theme here?

      @Alistair

My issue with it is that 2 other bosses have it as a key member of their team.

What point is there to making it his ace when there's a perfectly good, completely unused Pokemon in Beartic that fulfils the exact same role? Beartic has higher attack, good bulk, great type coverage and Slush Rush on top.

Or why even have Walrein removed as his ace, it's perfect for him.

Cal getting a fighting type makes total sense since he's part of apophyll. I don't like him having Barbarcle though. Feels way too random and doesn't even serve him well for his fight.

I guess Blake getting water types to deal with Cal makes sense(despite already having walrein and another arguable reason walrein was a good fit for him) but Starmie seems really not suited to his personality.

      Alistair

I'll disrespect Barbaracle the ugly mon as much as I damn please 😛

Beartic doesn't particularly suit Blake. Yes, I hear the arguments as to why he shouldn't have Alolaslash, but I think this mon is a really, really good fit for Blake both visually and functionally. If anything, I'd remove it from Serra's team rather than Blake's. Alolaslash doesn't suit Serra at all.

I agree with Monochrome about Starmie. It's perhaps the one mon Blake has that feels too random.

A Fighting type for Cal is alright, but I don't see any reasons for Hakamo-o rather than... well, anything else. Felt like gen 7 shoehorning, when Cal already has Turtonator as a gen 7 Dragon.

  16. Back from hell. Took me nearly 3 hours to beat Charlotte.

      daaamn. what was your team?

  17. Welp, about to fight Charlotte. RIP me.

  18. Not all pokemon are created equal. Some are objectively speaking better than others as a friend for your journey, and some frankly just plain stink. We're here to show respect to pokemon who while not considered Reborn's finest, are ones you feel deserve more credit than they're usually given and gave you a good experience. For me I nominate Oricorio. At first glance Ori seems like a gimmicky novelty mon. Now I already found appreciation for Ori back in the alola games where it carried me all the way until the E4 despite being an earlymon but in Reborn I was pleasantly surprised to still find it pretty useful. While it is frail, it's fairly quick and with a 98 special attack an EV trained one can score some respectable damage. Once it gets Rev-dance(and you can catch one that's only a few levels from learning one about mid-game) it can effectively serve as 4 different types(provided you hit the flower shop) in offense and defense which can help immensely if you find yourself lacking in a needed type for an upcoming fight or so. Also monotype runners can probably appreciate this too. as Oricorio can kind of cheat it's way into 5 different type runs lol. Dancer is also a really cool ability and completely shuts bennet down(it is seriously his worst enemy), as well as providing some great synergy in doubles with another quiver dancer. Also, Rev-dance has an amazing effect of granting a special attack+ speed buff on the cirus field, which can make Ori into a glass cannon in those fights, provided you can pull off a Rev dance. Just be careful of Hawlucha, because it WILL outspeed you and likely OHKO you if you aren't pom pom. Also Oricorio is a conceptually cool pokemon in general.
  19. The 3DS has good games other than pokemon you know lol. -looks at awakening/fates-
  20. The current My Hero Academia opening theme STINKS. It doesn't fit the visuals at all and just sounds like a mess. Honestly I'm not super into MHA's openings as they sound kind of generic to me but this one stands out as being actually bad.

      Wolfox

I kinda agree though I gotta say the first opening was really good

Truth. MHA’s endings are better, especially LiSA’s.

  21. Technically remakes aren't actually the same generation as the originals but I get what you mean in this case. I'll do it by order which I played: Gen 1: red - first played over a friend's house Gen 2: silver - first pokemon game I owned Gen 4: Diamond - got me back into pokemon after I dropped it in middle school. I was in...11th grade I believe? Gen 3: Emerald - via emulator. Gen 5: White -first one I bought with my own money., preordered too lol. Gen 6: X - same as above. I actually really enjoyed it first time due to the novelty of 3D although I still preferred gen 5. Poison's buff and fairy were cool too. Gen 7: Sun - midnight release. Long line out the door and halfway into the parking lot. Totes worth it, I still have the poster that came with it in my closet. No switch, so I'm afraid my journey with pokemon main releases will have to end with gen 7. But I'll always have reborn/fangames and the decade+ of games I own already. It's been an amazing ride. I love this franchise. I notice the darker versions appealed more to Reborn initially. Hmmm kind of fits actually lol.
  22. Never heard of this, but now I'm interested. And yeah admittedly I have a spot for mon-game types.
  23. Jeez wtf @ Samson's Hawlucha. I have mixed feelings on the new seeds because on one hand they're interesting but on the other hand they can result in BS like that.  I manged to beat him due to my Medicham, Kiki, knowing bullet punch but still. Ugh.

  24. Aside from ari and Kuro slightly, this is exactly how I kind of imagined them lol. I think it says something about Ame's skills that she was able to convey their personalities through their sprites. Also gave me a thread idea. Well more a redux.
  25. Lol at the Lin aizen comparison. As soon as you said boring invincible villain I was like, uh oh here comes the A-word lol. Thing is we know something epic happens to Lin as seen via shade's gym, now whether it's actually her or even a bad thing is anyone's guess and for only a few to know but her "Solaris gets owned at amaria's house" moment is gonna eventually, until then she needs to be built up as a believable threat especially since until ep 16 we never physically saw her do anything befitting her status as Meteor Lead.
