  1. Mothim. -average, but forgettable design. His colors are pretty but he feels very derivative of Butterfree/Beautifly without anything interesting to make him stand out. The most boring moth pokemon ever. -boring typing -loses the gimmick that makes his line stand out. Regardless of their actual effectiveness, burmy/wormadam at least had an interesting mechanic behind them in regards to evolution. Mothim discards that just to add to the already numerous bug/.flying types. It's masquerain all over again, except somehow even less appealing. -statistically underwhelming. Even in-game he's underwhelming. -boring lore and underdeveloped. What can mothim do again? Nothing another pokemon already couldn't, and better. Adds absolutely nothing to the franchise at all. He's not only entirely forgettable, weak, and unappealing in every way, but completely loses the focus of his evolutionary line. I get only male bagworms become moths but you could've still given Mothim some sort of theme or something to make him stand out. He's extremely boring and a contender for the worst pokemon ever. lol@ pikachu. I will never forgive Pikador in Pokken. Sin. Always liked Raichu more anymore.
  2. I still find the corey thing really eerie since it happened iRL. I remember ame saying RL Heather ended up closing herself off or something due to it, really sad :[ The only stuff I feel kind of kills the immersion for me is some of Terra's stuff as the tone is too memetastic and weird. Also the sex thing with Ciel is kind of like meh I can do without. Cain's flirting was cute, but HAD DAT BITCH ON HER KNEES COVERED IN KETCHUP like a little too far there. I'm not crazy about Terra even if she has her moments. BUT why does ame hate Terra so much?
  3. I find what pokemon shelly has that gives me the most trouble is oddly her anorith. It's faster than it looks, hits really hard and can take a beating too since hitting it for SE damage is a bit tricky.
  4. LMAO Lumineon? You're my hero man, that is classic. wait level 81? So it was probably being a jerk like half the match...even funnier. Yeah her gligar is a PAIN. Togekiss only if its faster than you and gets lucky, otherwise it's not that bad. Noivern is kind of annoying too since it outspeeds like everything. Megaltaria is manageable if you have something to SE hit it but otherwise it just takes too long to KO to where it'll end up cleaning up whatever weakened members you have on your team.
  5. ^Yup, WA Seismotoad is excellent for this fight, which I wish I knew beforehand. Would've made the battle 10x easier. But I just had to end up with SS. Granted SS seismotoad was the entire reason I beat Narcissca.
  6. Wait which fight is this?I recall a zetta/Geara team up it but it wasn't all that hard. I'm guessing there's a second one?
  7. No see the field reduces your speed by half, which is like being paralyzed. So even if voltorb's speed was like 110, on the field its like it'd be only 55 and thus get outsped by everybody and their grandmother.on Val's team. Thing is, flying types aren't affected by that, so theoretically Emolga or Jumpluff would be great. HOWEVER all of her pokemon have an ice move of some sort, with lapras getting a STAB, meaning emolga is at serious risk since it very likely won't be able to take down the pokemon turn one., unless you get seriously lucky with paralysis to where it won't matter. Light screen could help with that though and ice beam won't one-shot it unless it's coming off Lapras or a critical. Jumpluff on the other hand will get wrecked by ice beam stab or not since it has a 4x weakness. This fight is bonkers really. You're really limited in what you can bring that works. Changing the field does alleviate a lot of the issues though, as Val's power bonuses are nullified, your penalties are nullified, and you can better take advantage. Electric terrain or grassy terrain would be amazing but I don't know what can learn it + survive long enough to use it at this point. Mist too a lesser extent but again, I don't know if you can have access to it. Don't be afraid to bring a grass type though, as most of her ice beams won't one-shot your pokemon unless it comes from Lapras or a competitive boosted milotic. In fact it's getting frozen off one that's the killer(which the field boosts the likelyhood of as well I think) but that comes down to luck.
  8. He's not THAT bad. He's okay for the early game although there's better early game poison/bug types. Please note that ariados was never meant to be a battle pokemon in any game he's in(even gen 2), but rather more suited for catching other pokemon. I think you can use him to breed some good moves onto other pokemon too. I had one I used up till like level 45, he started off TERRIBLE as spinarak but was pretty useful up till around aya. He's was actually helpful against shade.
  9. Pika libre over Hawlucha. somebody thought this was a good idea. Somebody needs to be fired. I hope Scrafty makes it in. Or Escavalier/accelgor, though Scizor seems like a gurantee.
  10. Beat Angie today! Only gym leader so far I beat first attempt not counting 1st Keta. That whole segment was pretty crazy, although I had the misfortune of choosing team meia in that venam/saki battle beforehand. UGH that battle was annoying since both girls have like 3 hyper potions each and it screwed me over each time, one time I got frozen twice in a row off ice punch then got crit-killed by M.Mawile. It's bad enough their levels are so high for that point and Meia's AI is dumb as rocks + type disadvantages but the potions too? Seemed a bit unnecessarily difficult. Then Drapion was outspeeding like, near everything lol. I don't know where to go now actually...I thought the crater but I guess not? Hmmm looking back I think Angie was one of my favorite gym leaders. She's definitely one of the easier ones too, but then again my team was well suited to her(team Infernape FTW).
  11. Ninetales? Typhlosion? Sounds like Charlotte 2.0. Could've went with something more original, no?
  12. >Is it possible to beat Julia with only one pokemon? Yeah it is actually, I beat her with Grotle w/o using healing items. It was quite the struggle from what I remember . But with igglybuff? nope.
  13. Weird I remember my biggest problem with marianette being the level cap since Monferno would turn into a jackass mid-battle and get himself killed. Thing is even when I tried to evolve him into Infernape and level him down, the game wouldn't let him evolve until after I beat her.
  14. ^Yeah that's the problem, and to the big shot bragging about how he can rock intense, Valerie is borderline broken now, especially going in blind. You can easily be screwed over if you don't have the right team since you can't go back without reloading an earlier save. A lot of suggestions in this game might be impossible for the OP to get his hands on at this point without reloading an earlier save or cheesing somehow. My first time playing too, and while I did beat her without using any potions/etc, I can say she's by far the most aggravating gym leader yet(although TBH I took more tries on Marianette, who I found pretty challenging too). Changing the field can give you a big edge on terrain abusing leaders.Unlike Reborn though Rejuvenation doesn't really give the player as much opportunity to do so.
  15. ^I think everybody should have something that can change the field reliably as I find it makes gym battles a lot more manageable. Even a few turns can make a world of difference. I struggled with Crawli somewhat too but then quagsire using mist allowed Seismotoad to handle Volcarona whereas he couldn't before due to the field effects. That played a huge part in my victory to where I ended up using only 5 pokemon. I used to find mist of of useless in single player, but in this game/Reborn it's really useful.
  16. Fog is far from useless, if anything it's too broken to be an actual weather effect. Enjoy missing like 65% of the time. I like most of the new weather animations except rain. The rain drops look more like tear drops and it's a bit silly looking. Oh one improvement, which Idk if you guys can do, is when "the ____ is buffeted by hail/sandstorm" message comes in doubles it gets very annoying to have to sit through that message for every mon on the field.Anyway to have it so that it has them all getting hurt at once and if ice body or whatever occurs have that on the following phase of the turn? I feel similarly about hail needing a buff but at the same time 100% accuracy blizzard really really hurts especially if you end up frozen. Blake was difficult mostly due to that + his field bonus.
  17. As in you can't go back to get them if you missed it the first time.
  18. Oh man no wonder I barely have any good TMs. They aren't missable, are they? The story is really starting to get interesting though. I think I know what Team Xen is already, but it'll be fun to see what their motives truly are.
  19. Oh another sort of major one When you fight rorrim d or whatever his name is the first time, after beating him he can get stuck if the female trainer above him is blocking his path, preventing you from doing anything else and forcing you to restart, You have to make sure when she sees you she moves far enough so she isn't standing in front of him after his battle.
  20. This is like, the first fight in the game where it feels outright broken. Just extremely unfair to where it can be impossible if you don't have knowledge of what you're going against beforehand. I have no leaf stone nor could I find one before so anything involving that is out -Manetric blues like OP -no swoobat or clam mind gardevoir so that's out. Can't get one since hur dur island. -seismotoad...with swift swim. So yeah, no. -no weather tms or abilities so far. Once again, nothing to actually utilize the field mechanic postively, which I feel is the biggest mistake here. -the field penalty is broken, as it's like being constantly paralyzed. That's ridiculous when their getting STAB field boosted rain scalds and whatnot. -the player cannot utilize the field the way they should. Sludge wave doesn't dirty it or anything and as far as I know you can't freeze it either. -Electricity should've been the key but your electric types die too quickly to get any use out of it. Also Lanturn who gets only one weakness because of the silly field like how are you even supposed to do this? EDIT: BY WINNING. That's how. At least, that's just what happened to me 0_0. Got lucky of course as Manetric didn't get one-shotted by scald this time oddly enough, guess she got a bad roll. That let me paralyze Miltoic who is by far her deadliest pokemon. Sawsbuck MVP though, guy pretty much two-shot everyone save Lanturn and his dumb berry(he took 3 shots). Luck played a part again as I didn't get frozen once this battle(thankfully ugh).Oh and Lapras who I didn't even risk it against. I notice flying types don't get affected by the penalty. This is important. I used Sawsbuck : level 44/45 Seismotoad: level 44 Muk: level 44 Manetric: level 44 Mightyena: level 44 Unfezant: level 44. lol as you can see not an all star lineup. Seismotoad was pretty useless sadly and Muk only got a cheap kill on Politoad but otherwise didn't do much. Manetric paralyzing Milotic was a huge turnaround for me and a crucial move as it allowed Sawsbuck to leech enough health to survive a hydro pump from Rotom(who she switched too) at only little over half HP. Mightyena/Unfezant together took down Lapras, while Mightyena beforehand solo'd the SlowBro. Milotic was easily handled by sawsbuck once it was paralyzed. Ice beam ain't one-shotting it so it's just a matter of not getting frozen at that point. I really need the tm for return though, Unfezant would be a lot better with it since his attack is actually quite solid. His level up movepool makes no sense lol. Still, plz nerf.
  21. Haha no, it's the name of Ame's original SRPG game she's got planned. I wonder if that guy might end up being a character in there. I didn't remember that line in episode 14 either..
  22. Leech seed. Man oh man leech seed. No matter what game, no matter what gen, Leech seed is always a lifesaver. It's my favorite grass move ever. shell smash. It's the pokemon equivalent of turning into the Hulk. Cloyster won me many PWT with this move. close combat: I just love this move. It looks pretty cool, it's probably the best fighting move, and hits really really hard. The defense penalties afterwards kind of suck but it's like your pokemon just goes, "screw it let's go" runs up to the opponent and then Star Platinums the crap out of them. It's kind of awesome beating the opponent with a no bars hold beatdown. thunder wave: it's like one of the most reliable status moves in the game. 100% accuracy, cripples speed, sets up for a rather painful electro ball(only way I even use the move) and a lot of pokemon can learn it. Of course it's also really annoying being used against you lol. wish: the quintessential cleric move, this is another favorite move of mine. It's very cute conceptually and incredibly useful in that it makes you live a lot longer when played right. bulk up : aside from it's hilarious anime rendition this is a move that can slowly turn its user into an unstoppable juggernaut, especially combined with drain punch or some healing move of some sort. It's saved me a lot during BW2's postgame tougher stuff.
  23. I remember I used to bash on grass, can't spell grass without ass! But that's because I was using it wrong. I lvoe it's clerical nature and ability to heal, like when you get that set-up just right, grass types can last a really long time and become really hard to kill. They also have a lot of utility in their mvoes ranging from offensive to supportive to defensive or debilitating...it's very fun type to use. Only thing is that grass types aren't the most versatile in movepools of other types."Killing them softy" is like the grass type's mantra.
