Congrats! Thankfully none of the gym leaders past her are nearly as bad. I think her and Marianette are definitely the hardest.

^^Ugh yeah I noticed and Idk, Charlotte don't feel right without her squares. I don't even like smoking but I think it suits her character pretty well and looks better than her giving a peace sign.

One of my favorite anime ever! HxH is a fantastic shonen which I find to be, the "smart guy's shonen" in that it relies more on character development, world building, and plot than just power levels and big fancy fights, although it still has some well done action too. The manga while good has some rather shaky art due to various health issues and at times just looks awful, I actually couldn't finish it I definitely think it's a case where the anime adaption surpasses the manga. However, let's take the time to gush about the amazing OST of both 1999/2011 HxH. I kind of like 1999 more but 2011's OST is no slouch either and sounds great my favorites are Pakunoda's theme, Kurapika's theme, Chrollo's theme, Kinkyu Jintai, Zoldyeck/Chrollo battle, Gekitou,Kanashimi No Fusou, HXH No Tema- Densetsu, Field in Spring, Zoldeyck Theme 2011, Legend of the Martial Artist, Hegemony of the Food Chain although TBH I only really like the guitar part.of that one. As for favorite arc, definitely York Shin! I love the Phantom Troupe and they're probably my favorite Villain gang in manga period. I think York Shin is the peak of the series, with Greed Island while amazing in concept gets bogged down by Biscuit's training mini arc(ugh I hate Biscuit), has the weakest villain(Bomber isn't bad, he's just fills so lesser compared to Hisoka or Lucifer), some pacing issues, and could've handled characters better. It's also where the manga's art quality went down the tubes.Chimera ant arc...sigh. Like I really wanted to like it, but it's by FAR the most boring arc much of the time to where I actually haven't finished it. I feel like too many characters get introduced(Palm ugh and Kite's useless friends), the chimera ants have horrible designs and while interestingly written just look too corny(the freakin surfer lion and thong rabbit). Then the molasses in sand pacing which just makes it a slog to go through at times and then massively annoying narrator who just dehypes everything whenever he opens his mouth. The high points are the battles which are the best the show has to offer so far, Netero going all out and proving why he's the boss of the bosses, as well as Killua's development and Meruem who is probably one of my favorite villains in the show. Knuckle was pretty cool too although his partner was pretty lame. Not to mention you get to see the Spiders more which is ALWAYS a good thing, It'slike the best of the show and worst of it all wrapped in one, which i think is partly why it divides so many people. I know one thing, Gon's super form, epic as it's supposed to be just looks incredibly silly to me and kind of ruined what was supposed to be a badass moment. Idk just felt like they jumped the shark with Gon's powers there. Weird how despite being the main character, Gon's powers are kind of boring compared to his allies.I do like his fighting style otherwise though as it's very feral looking. It's an arc that just takes way too long and TBH I think madhouse would've done well in trimming some of its fats because there's a lot to appreciate in it that unfortunately is just bogged down by small issues that add up. I still haven't watched the chairman arc yet. As for favorite characters, out of the heroes for me it goes Kurapika > Killua > Gon > Leorio. Chain users are just too cool and I like Kurapika's personality a bit more comapred to the others, although Gon's is cool too since he so childishly innocent(although he acts more like a 10 year old initially IMO). For villains Feitan, Pakunoda, Chrollo, Meruem, and Hisoka win it. Netero is really cool as well and has one of the coolest Nen abilities in the show. My other favorite nen abilities would be Killua's chains, Ghostwriter, Knuckle's ability, Pakunoda's memory bullets, shalrak's cell phone, Chrollo's book, and Blinky.

I love Reborn's soundtrack, and the city's is pretty nice i think. It has this urban dystopian sound to it that really fits the city, although if the city has been renewed I think the town themes should reflect that. Lapis ward's is great, especially the 7th street remix. I love Obsidia's too, and Coral's rocks as well. Only one I'm not crazy about is Onyx since it's a bit boring.

Anyone got any good tips for a new playthrough
Monochrome_Complex replied to BlazikinArmy's topic in Reborn City
Not even just that, but then you have PULSE Tangrowth, Corey's gas field ruining bubble(beam) against him, shelly abusing giga drain, the electric buff in shade's gym...wow water in this game is the new grass lol. Early game is pretty difficult I'd imagine. I do want to run with totodile one day though, I love him and he reaches his final form earlier than any other starter. But he doesn't seem like he'd do too well. -
Serious Issues with Latest Gym Leader
Monochrome_Complex replied to Shadolance's topic in Team Showcase
Typhlosion's eruption slays Noivern? Er whenever I tried that Noivern would always be in yellow or red, and mine was fully EV'd with a special attack boosted nature, holding a flame plate. It would never one shot it though and Noivern indeed was a huge problem. Not to mention that Noivern would ALWAYS outspeed my entire team. Thing about Cryogonal is that his defense SUCKS and like nearly half of Ciel's team use physical STAB'd moves and outspeed him. I would try a rock type with an air balloon too. You need something for Megataria and physical is preferable over special for it. In fact, I think your team is TOO special oriented. -
Anyone got any good tips for a new playthrough
Monochrome_Complex replied to BlazikinArmy's topic in Reborn City
Nidoking is very good. He works well both physical and special, is poison(which due to field effects is actually a pretty awesome type in Reborn) can take advantage of several fields/weather due to his awesome movepool, and frankly is downright badass. He doesn't ever start to feel weak either, like he's good from ep 2 to ep 15. Of course some fights(Blake mainly) he'll be kind of useless but overall you can't go wrong with DA KING. You definitely want a good nature for him + sheer force. Oh, and don't choose piplup as your starter. I never did but nearly everyone says he's the worst possible starter choice. -
Okay yeah, I cannot ever say Shelly is easy again ever. I lost that right completely when she beat my steel/ground dual team like 10 times straight. dat prankster confuse ray dat heather dat field boosted giga drain dat anorith whose inexplicably faster than half of what's available to you. dat field boosted struggle bug Like with flame burst and or a fire type she's not so bad(just watch out for anorith and Heather!) but without them I'd go as far as to say she's the hardest early game leader. Harder than Shade, harder than Kiki(though I consider her early mid-game), harder than Corey and definitely harder than Flobot and Julia. She was giving me the blues though. Graveler's Strudy doesn't amount to anything since he gets KO'd before he can even do anything and I didn't have Nidoking although now that I think about it I could've gotten him long ago. All I know is that heather can go die.

CHARLOTTE <3333333333333333333 Great justice to the greatest leader. Well until Sapphira. But so far Charlotte is best Reborn gal. You're art style is incredible BTW. Very pretty and graceful.

Thing is your grass type is eating an ice beam unless it flies, which only Jumpluff can do atm...and he can't one-shot anything on Val's team as far as I know. I think ice beam also gets a freeze bonus, which can ruin everything for you if you get frozen. Wait up hold a minute now. Swoobat? Does it have simple? And calm mind? Because those two together can definitely help, and swoobat isn't penalized by the field, although Lanturn will be a big threat and swoobat won't be able to one-shot anybody unless he's +6 boost and even then Miltoic might be able to tank it. Greninja isn't penalized by the field either...well as a water type. Maybe he can help too. Weezing has levitate, right? But he's slow anyway so he'll probably get outsped by most of Val's team. Still he's not a bad pokemon and poison can help out with Miltoic. Too bad we can't corrupt the water like in Reborn. Pidgeot may be useful, it has roost or no? I don't use him like ever so I don't know his moveset too well. i know Unfezant was pretty useful for me.

Er did you forget about Klink? There's wormadam(lol) as well and if you get lucky, Pawniard via mystery egg. I actually used Klink against crobat and he just laughed in his face, although roost is kind of annoying. Skuntank is probably Corey's biggest threat in the gas field since incinerate and smokescreen get a boost. Definitely pick up something with a ground move for him. Then of course, you can always blow away the gas too. Corrosive Corey is harder to abuse the field with I feel.
-
Thing is you can get like really unlucky with chatter and end up hitting yourself everytime off confusion. Chatot's special attack is actually pretty scary early game to where chatter can put a good dent in stuff that even resists it.
-
I think it's really cute. Ari is probably my favorite PC atm. S/he looks very at home in Reborn city design wise.
-
Another thing, but I'm convinced now that corrosive field Corey is actually harder than gassy Corey. Gassy corey's Crobat can't seem to hurt steel types at all with his field as air cutter's poison addition makes it usueless. It's hilarious to see him pull off a nasty plot and repeatedly spam air cutters only to basically give you a free win. It turns his ace into an absolute joke. His crobat has nasty plot, air cutter, venoshock and what else? It should have something to deal with steels.

Maybe Amethyst could put these in?

Junpei is actually my favorite out of either cast though. Though now I want to see Pe3 cast Reborn sprites. -
[WIP] BIGJRA's Project: Reborn Elemental Masters
Monochrome_Complex replied to BIGJRA's topic in Team Showcase
Thanks for the help guys! I finally dismantled the Flobot, although it was kind of a dur moment for me. I just filled the rest of my team with a bunch of klinks and grinded them up. Sheer numbers allowed me to overcome her. Funny how Maractus was the biggest threat. Thing is, now I have a team of like 5 Klinks. Well 4 now since I got Pawniard out of the mystery egg! Super lucky. -
i NEVER used sun against Luna lol. Actually her Tyranitar benefits more off the regular cave field than the crystal one so it changing the field helps him although it screws over the rest of her team. Lucario gets a free SD all the time even now but it doesn't help him that much because he's pretty frail and Samson almost always heals him which basically gives you a free shot at KOing him assuming you can one shot him. And TBH I feel that the dark team's natural weaknesses and what's available to the player makes Luna hit a difficulty threshold. You'd pretty much have to set her with megas or legendaries to make her one of the most challenging members.Mandibuzz would make her more difficult but I udnerstand they kind of want to keep the AIW theme too. I mean Mandibuzz could still act as JubJubird and would be a good pick I think.

Mega Lopunny. I always liked Lopunny, love fighting types, and looking like a street fighter chick makes it really awesome. Mega altraria looks really cool, almost divine, and has a really cool type combo. Megacham also looks pretty cool, conceptually Mega Lucario looks pretty badass. Megaswampert too. Megahoundoom I agree looks awesome. Megamawile too..

Fair warning, he can be a bit unBEARable at times. If you can BEAR with his frequent puns, he's a BEARY entertaining guy. Theoretical: what pokemon would each Persona character use as their main? Yosuke: Greninja Chie: Blaziken Yu: Pikachu Rise: Meloetta Kanji: Machamp Teddy: Teddiursa Yukiko: Ninetales? idk really and don't care since she's lame anyway. Naoto: difficult really...Hmm yeah this one is a bit tough. I don't know really. ^Top RIGHT is Yukiko...TBH she's by far my least favorite of the P4 gang not counting Marie. Yosuke is my favorite followed by Chie and then Teddy. -
Actually Luna got slightly harder because Tyranitar has an assault vest now. Serra idk, she's easier and harder at the same time.
-
Honestly this reasoning seems rather silly when the game is already using GF's property by virtue of being a fangame.
-
This is a fangame though, amidst a seas of many many fangames. Unlike Xenoblade X, a lot of players will simply forget about it if it takes too long and play rejuvenation or Resurgence or something instead. DeHype is real, and really bad.
-
You tried waking it up?
-
What turns me off from a lot of fangames are ugly fakemons and really bad spritework. . Rejuvenation's gearen city looks incredible, as does its blossom route, I think Jan does really good at aesthetic map design.
-
Thing about all three of those pokemon is that their megas could've worked just fine as regular evolutions. In Mawile's case even better..
