  1. I feel like every fangame should have Royal Ciccino in it somewhere just to tick players off lol. Like it's mad annoying, but absolutely hilarious in how stupidly cheap it can be. Like against Noel in reborn I got flinched 3 turns straight to him and I was like NOPE and F12'd faster than a choiced electrode. Screw that. Marionette felt like that in general, where one unlucky turn or matchup and you were done.
  2. THE TALENT IS OOZING LIKE THE POISON OFF MUK'S GOOEY FLESH That's the coolest looking Cain I''ve ever seen. He looks so cool and confident. Loving your style there.
  3. As far as I know you can't even get a rock type until after Julia. Then it's like bonsly of all things until after flobot lol. Yeah dude rock will suck, don't even bother. Psychic isn't hard really, quite the opposite since it's really good in Reborn, but it is fun. Normal actually does get you a nice variety at all times, but jeez they're boring and Reborn's TMs are pretty rubbish generally speaking until mid-late game.I should've gotten castform on my normal run but I totally forgot about him. He would've kept my interest somewhat I think. I might try a bug mono once I'm done with my psychic/ice dual(which has been a blast). Actually nah I'll do flying since I never show charmander any love. I'd say electric but so many electric types do the same thing, which can make your team seem limited somewhat and utterly walled by Nidoking/queen or strong ground types.. Granted the game does a decent job keeping you supplied with electric types and they utilize fields well. Plus you get Emolga AND Pachi, both who are awesome early-mid game.
  4. Gen 7, although I think 1000 pokemon(excluding megas) is where they should stop. How many are we at now? Gen 6 is my least favorite generation pokemon wise so I'm hoping 7 is a sort of more like gen 5 or 3 with a bunch of fun new pokemon.
  5. In the main games yeah, fangames not so much. But admittedly my team in OR is kind of garbage looking back lol. They slaughtered the single player still but jeez man it has no offensive power.
  6. For once beating Terra on my first attempt, usually she takes me several tries and sometimes more. And I didn't even have my starter(delphox this time who would've been at a disadvantage anyway) with me. In the end it was just RAWRCHOMP and Avalugg, thankfully avalugg was able to finish him off handily. Rawrchomp's special defense/heath had been lowered to where one hit would've did him in. Plus he nerfed himself by using draco meteor on alakazam which didn't do JACK(did like maybe 40 damage max if that). since Alakazam's special defense/offense was insanely good due to the field. My team was Alakazam, Walrein, Gardevoir. Cryogonal, Avalugg, and Gothitelle. I almost blew it though since I had cryogonal get one-shot by hiphopatomus thinking cryo would be able to one shot him...screw the ice beam nerf lol.
  7. Oh is it? Ah well, you get the idea of the move anyway lol. Anyway a few more: Armored Press type: Steel, physical, contact PP: 10 acc: 100 BP: 100 Somebody above(shield bash) actually had the same idea as this one. The uses presses their armored body against the opponent, working off the user's defense stat rather attack stat to determine damage. It was supposed to be used by an E4 steel trainer whose ace was mega steelix, who would deal some major hurts with this move.. Firewall type: fire, status PP: 5 acc: --- BP:---- the user creates a wall of fire around their team for that turn. This does several things: -if any opponent uses a contact move that is not fire or water type, the attack will fail and they will get burned. -If an opponent uses a fire contact move, they will not get burned and it will be treated as normal -If an opponent uses a water contact move, they will get burned but the attack will still succeed. -Sunny weather increases the duration of the firewall to however many turns the sun is out. -Harsh Sun adds 1/8th damage to any failed attacks affected by the firewall. -If hit by a non contact water move, the firewall dissipates, except in harsh sun. -in the rain the firewall does not inflict burn -in heavy rain the firewall will fail completely -pokemon with the ability flame body, heatproof, flash fire, magic coat, or magma armor are unaffected by the firewall no matter what move they use -Pokemon with ice body, grass pelt, or dry skin will take 1/8th(1/4th in harsh sun) total HP damage if they make contact with the firewall. -If hurricane is used on an opponent with a firewall up, a vortex of flame will be created adding a secondary fire type damage to hurricane.
  8. I tried normal but got bored of it since normal types are kind of boring to use for some reason IMO. Most of them can't use fields that well except the flying ones and mix type ones. Psychic is definitely the most fun, but poison is cool too.
  9. Hmmm only thing is that say you get a pokemon which you currently have no type of, like the period of grinding 30 levels is going to be annoying.
  10. Her ace is Jirachi probably. Gothitelle could still be on her team though especially since it isn't exactly bad.
  11. Even post nerf she's still one of the hardest leaders in the game. Good job though, you've overcome one of Reborn's biggest milestones.
  12. Yeah he does have hidden power rock, as does Volcarona who is actually faster/hits harder with it. Typhlosion doesn't have flash fire anymore at least although that actually worked AGAINST me since I was hoping to trace it I spent nearly an hour and a half on Charlotte last night with my psychic/ice team, and jeez it was the most frustrating/hardest gym match since shelly. The rain/blizzard(in that order) strat is good and all but the trick is actually getting your capable pokemon to pull it off before getting KO'd by Darminitan/Tyboy Darmanitan's field boosted(either the steam or burning one) flare blitz hits absurdly hard to where it was one-shotting EVERYTHING on my team that didn't resist it. I used Medicham, Walrein, Gardevoir, Alakazam, Delphox, and Mamoswine. I have to leave so I'll expand more on how I won later but if you can leave Rotom for last as after an overheat or two it can hardly dish out any damage and KO Ninetales and Volcarona ASAP as soon as it appears because those two can ruin everything for you given a chance to set up. Brick Break is actually useful for this fight too since Delphox sets up light screen and Rotom has reflect.
  13. This playthrough not only did I beat her first try, none of my pokemon even got hurt since Gallade's rock slide missed lol.Yeah calm mind swoobat destroys her but overall I feel luna is easier, since unlike Kiki I didn't have as much of a type advantage(although Medicham and Gardevoir alone wrecks havoc on most of her team) yet still managed to first attempt her. Only thing about Luna is confusion hax and Malamar, the latter which isn't that hard to deal with and the former being tolerable with some planning/luck..
  14. I can understand the typing woes of Emboar, but functionally and stat wise he's a lot different from Infernape and Blaziken(or any fire starter really) that I can look past the repeated typing and appreciate him for what he is.
  15. Good luck! Looking forward to how you'll take down the great blue terror later on.
  16. He's like the only flying dragon other than Altaria I think you can get at this point soooo yeah that definitely makes him worth using somewhat. That said my teams without him performed better overall than my teams with him. Like he's good, but not dratini-> dragonite or magikarp -> Gyrados good. I think people overrate him slightly.
  17. ^Dude what? The field effects is what separates Reborn from like majority of the other fangames out there mechanically speaking. I wish the real games would utilize it more and I like it as a concept waaay more than Megas. Thing is the games already have it to some extent starting with gen 5 and expanded a bit in gen 6, just not as developed as Reborn's field system. I kind of like Route 1 but I never bothered with the forest sidequests lol so maybe that's why. I can't say I agree with ep 15 since the blake/fern/solaris battlea are among the most satisfying in the entire game and Ame said it was going to be short from the get go.
  18. ^I can't quite understand the hate for Emboar either, I never used him in Reborn but honestly i had more success with him than I did with Samurott in 5th gen, although Serperior I prefer over both.
  19. Luna is really just a girl with a big imagination at heart though. She puts on an air of sophistication because that's the character she plays. The fact she's a dark-type trainer could hint she's hiding something as well or manipulating us.
  20. You do realize that the pokecenter trainers are infinitely battla-able sicne episode 15, right? It makes grinding a lot easier actually, and the circus even moreso with the color wheel game. And Bouffalant being lowered is a good thing since it still has mega horn unlike before where you had to use a heart scale.
  21. Good luck with ground dude, IMO it's one of the WORST types to monorun in reborn. Poor selection in the beginning unless you exploit V. flip, Fern getting really annoying later on, freakin Blake, a team where half your dudes will get outsped constantly, Shelly(please do yourself a favor and get Numel early otherwise this fight will be hell), not a whole lot of ways to use fields except by destroying them, generally bad in doubles since you;re likely to hit your own pokemon. It's a definite upwards climb.
  22. ^That's the one ice cream is talking about I think. Or maybe he means the part with Aya/cain/hardy trekking through the mountains since the crustle puzzles are pre Samson. I know a lot of people don't like the part you're talking about because if the LAG and puzzles but it reminds me a LOT of Golden Sun so it's not so bad for me.
  23. Challenge is fine but hard for the sake of being hard isn't good design philosophy and difficulty needs to be done with the aim of teaching the player like every other challenge in the game. Charlotte not only had a crazy OP'd field but also had illegal moves which was frankly BS and needed to be removed. It wasn't just that Charlotte was too hard, she was difficult in a bad way that discouraged variety in how to handle her(really there was only like 3-4 strats you could use against her since everything else would die too quickly all of which required certain pokemon) and was too brutal in that a first time player wouldn't be able to effectively learn her field since you'd lose in like 3 turns. Like really once you know what to expect you can prepare ahead of time to where she's not even that bad, but I feel like the game shouldn't be designed with the philosophy of grabbing a magic mon per gym, winning, then boxing it which is EXACTLY what people do with Charlotte. If you played Jan's current episode of his Rejuvenation fangame, a gym leader suffers from much the same problems as Smoking Charlotte(since nerfed charlotte loses her smokes in her battle portrait haha) in that her field buffs her team to insane levels and is too limited in the tools the player can use to beat it. In fact it's even worse since it's earlier in the game and at a point where you're basically constrained to a very limited selection of pokemon you can add to your team. Like yeah it's challenging and hard, but not in a good way. I get you on the feeling of accomplishment thing, I was really happy when I beat Charlotte the first time too, but TBH I was happier that I'd never have to go through that misery again and actually enjoy the ride there, not just the destination.
  24. Wait wait wait wait you have Typhlosion? Instead of trying to beat the field, why not use it to your advantage?
  25. Playing through that part yesterday it could very well be just Luna
