  1. NGL, when I say that I'm a pretty gullible person and easily swayed. I do think a better video or something not so super long or believable would've been better as somehow I ended up googling solar energy which is what actually confused me. Oh well! I know the video itself was a bit false, but what interested me more was the fact there could be a better alternative energy source (hooray ADHD!). The other thing that went on in my mind is that something that is 100x more energy than hydrogen bombs might actually be a little bit dangerous to put into fuel and cars XD. The problem with that video is that it kept spouting stuff and never giving what should be done or what they were after. I actually opened the video into another tab to figure out they were scamming you into buying a book (and trust me, the video goes down the drain each minute going worse and worse). Hell, you probably wouldn't know the scam tactic at all. Articles are sometimes a bit easy to trick and sway honestly and would be able to engage more people.
  2. Believe or not I got a lot of people bothering me about giving her a Mega Charizard and yeah that ended up being a no because she can just hit so hard and you want to give her an additional multiplier. And my strategy was rain dance trick room which talonflame helps mess with a little bit (seriously, people think that thing is stronger than it really is with that 84 attack stat). I don't get why people want her to basically be Uber strong like in the pre-nerf days. Her current team is stronger than that pre-nerf, but balanced out when compared to the rest of the leaders.
  3. Eh, blame the mapping side of development in hardcore. I eventually took over in that aspect...very late, but I'm still too lazy to change small unimportant details that don't affect fights.
  4. You underestimate what could be accomplished by creative minds. I suppose this episode would be the last section of impossible battles as Players' Pokemon would be almost too strong without fakemon. The difference between 80-100 might not be super big, but a 6 vs 12 could easily curbstomb a player seeing as your opponent has twice as many Pokemon. Trust me, impossible battles are far from dead.
  5. Okay, I think I got that timeline straightened out...now I just have to remember character ages. Thankfully, only a handful have an age that matter and I could bull most of the others.

  6. Hawlucha is definitely one of Samson's most threatening Pokemon alongside that Blaziken. The thing I like about Hariyama though is that it's going to KO something with Weakness Policy activated combined with the 2x multiplier. That's like getting hit by an attack 4 times, but it balances out because Hariyama is slow. Samson has a really good team, but the levels are kind of needed outside of Hawlucha just due to how easy it is to beat fighting types nowadays. Heracross is his least threatening Pokemon IMO, but it's better than regular Lucario as it does way more damage (you learn that Samson may be slow, but he's one of the strongest hitting leaders in Reborn). The next leader is a bit of hell though...hehehe.
  7. I'm just looking at this old timeline for a story I haven't touched in forever. I forgot it had a history that spanned 60 years in the past (most of it is actually minor and obsolete, but still forgot how vast it was).

    1. pbood2

      pbood2

what kind of story? Is it just fiction you came up with over time? 60 year history sounds interesting depending on what it's about. :D

    2. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

Fool please, I once created an RP whose world history stretched back several thousand years all the way to the very beginning of the planet, and then even many more years beyond that to the time of the reigning God himself

    3. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

And most of that history, especially the pre-world stuff, figured directly into the plot and current conflict and thus had to be fully fleshed out to boot...

  8. I did a little bit of digging into this and while that info is legit, the speaker overplays what's going on. At the current state, Oil companies are still in dominance even at this date so that change might not be until a few years down the line, but certainly not months and from what the stock markets read, there really hasn't been anywhere even close to that growth, if any at all, for that Sand Frackers. TBH, the stocks are really cheap which makes someone like me really sceptical, but I suppose it would be a low risk, high reward type deal if someone wanted to make a little bit of profit off it, but not spend their life savings. As for that video, it actually is an add to buy a book, but the narrator had forgotten that the internet exits and the info there is almost limitless and just as bias as he is. The big difference is that one is free and the other is not.
  9. Oh yeah, Victoria was the one who surprised me with her difficulty (though I've also had a hard time with Orderly John in one run as well). Shelly though, mother of god you better know what you're doing though that Drought Vulpix might be your savior with the Rainbow Field effect. Don't think you'll have trouble, but I made sure to stop you Fire Pledge Spammers.
  10. Not really good with introductions, but it might surprise a few of you that I've been a part of this for a while and then hid in the shadows for many reasons. I'm not really an official member and don't consider myself one, but I swing by from time to time to make sure things are all good and well. Generally, my specialty is story and idea making but I know a lot of the basics of Pokemon Essentials. I suppose adviser would be a better title for me, but it's really up to Pbood what I'm considered.
  11. (Sees Xenosaga) You are okay in my book. I would do a marathon of the Xeno games to lead up to X...but there's not enough time to do that due to their length. Probably best not to talk about them as it's always spoilerville and off topicness. As for FE7, You really aren't missing out on that much as the Tellius games have like the best gameplay mechanics. And I also finally have the answer to that one question I've been wondering this whole time. I've just always wondered why she had red and blue eyes. Please tell me I'm not the only one guilty of this.
  12. Speaking of Magikarp, that quest is actually going to continue in Episode 16. Remember how the vendor said that you couldn't find the guy in Reborn's current state...well, yep Reborn got cleaned up a little bit meaning the quest continues. Anyone want to place a bet on whether or not we'll obtain the Pokemon. Part of me says yes, but another part says that the quest will go on even further.
  13. Citrine actually paid attention for once in her life which surprised her Skitty companion. Rosie, on the other hand, cared little for this speech. Obviously, trainers who are too weak hearted or evil would end up like this. It wasn't like this was any news or anything to her and it was half the reason she was even here...with this slightly irritating girl in the first place. She was about to go to sleep on the ground below her trainer's feet but the sight of Citrine's hand in the air made her curious. Since when did this human even think. "Excuse me, professor dude, but there is one thing that's bothering me. I find it hard to believe that something like that dragon scene doesn't happen at least once in a while around here. I mean not on that scale, but maybe a weak, newly caught Pokemon goes a little loopy and attacks a random student. The attack might hurt them a little bit, but perhaps it was more like a small scratch than a coma. What exactly would happen to the owner of that Pokemon?" Citrine didn't have the normal smirk on her face this time. It was kind of surprising given she slept through half the speech in the first place. Rosie looked up at her trainer with a bit of a smile. It seemed like this ding-dong actually had something that could be called a brain. Perhaps this year might be a little more fun than she originally thought, but it was still too early to judge. In fact, she still didn't know if this girl knew how to battle as the little Skitty never even saw her in a trainer battle ever, but at least she was aware of the possibilities of what could happen.
  14. Let's try this again. I tried doing this before, but guess who forgot to click the box to start. So rock would be my favorite type. I dunno why, but nuzlockes made it grow on my just due to how awesome and really useful they are with their defenses. You're probably thinking I just am looking while doing this, but I've done enough writing that I can even read my mistakes quite well and erase them without looking. Anyways, what's your favorite type of music and why?
  15. I saw Dark Fang and it reminded of the Black Fang from FE7...which then reminded me of Lloyd the dodge master. Anyways, I know I don't say much, but I'm really interested in this game. It's definitely looks really, really promising and I am very patient (well, most Rebornians have patience given the period between episodes), but Xenoblade X is coming out Friday...and I probably will disappear for a week or two due to that. I waited over 3 years for that game. But seriously, take your time and don't rush anything especially for the first release as a very crisp and clean first release will drag a heck of a lot of attention and recognition compared to a really glitchy and problematic game.
  16. I know it's a little late, but sometimes it is hard to figure out pokemon abilities because 5% of the time the bulbapedia page is not the same as the essentials abilities ie they are swapped, but hidden ability aka 2 is always the same no matter what. If you are ever unsure, there actually is a text file in the PBS folder that tells you what each ability is...but most it is coherent with Bulbadia so you don't need to worry about it much. Anyways, it's the number that comes right after the the fourth move if you ever forget.
  17. Good-bye...it's funny how a simple phrase can range from nothing at all to the two most painful words you could ever hear. My farewell may mean little, but something is always better than silence.

  18. Dan, you should put the no avatar hat on the first page...considering people who don't use pics might want that one. Anyways, somebody want to hat me up:
  19. I usually have a crap ton of stuff running and sometimes skype and rpg maker so it's probably too many programs combined with a heavily evented area which makes it lag so hard. My advice is to either see if you can get it to run normal speed (my lag was hardly noticeable despite the conditions...though I've played old reborn with animations and anything moves faster than that) or use one of those speedup programs/cheat engine. If you really aren't sure what the problem is, open the task manager and see if the CPU is hitting like 100% or close to that as that'd be your issue, not your computer. Reborn City is one of the most interesting scenarios as no other Pokemon fan game packs so many events in a very small area which makes it a little more demanding, but once you hit episode 8, it should start moving a bit faster.
  20. Petition to change the Wynaut. I'm getting tired of typing Why_Not.

It is annoying, though I feel like there has already been a petition to remove it.

There's been way way too many attmetpts. It's not going anywhere it's hear for good. Get used to your cute blue overlord.

  21. You can shoot me a PM if you want, but I can't promise you anything. Obviously, I do consider there being a few standards in writing and they aren't much, but it really helps me weed out the serious and the not so serious writers. I suppose this will give me something to do before reviving that behemoth of a project I've been revising for who knows how long and start writing it.
  22. Sorry to disappoint you, but that answer has zero affect on the story whatsoever. I actually don't think that's too much of a spoiler because the game gives you several choices in order to progress through the game but I won't tell you which ones matter as that's the fun part of figuring it all out.
  23. You might not have known this but Reborn's plot was actually originally based on the league during Gen V. It was around episodes 8-10 when Gen VI became a thing...which became a problem so the league needed a new leader...hence Adrienn. The story needed to be revised a little bit to include the new leader into the plot which kind of led into this little plothole. There really isn't a way to explain it without going into a crazy theory but Adrienn was able to retake Xer spot back due to never resigning and probably the hellhole that was league issues along with Reborn in general. My guess is that it was something that got overlooked by Pre-Ame and Ame "forgot" to find a new fairy leader.
  24. Tbh, I can't really recommend it as it is kind of important why only two Pokemon are nicknamed during her gym battle. It pretty much shows her shyness in that she only has one friend and later down the line you kind of see what Anna was telling her as she started opening up to a few people like Cain, Anna, and Noel. It's very similar to why Cal uses a Medicham. But yeah, nicknames for leader Pokemon I believe for the most part are the ones leaders used for the actual league. Luna's Pokemon are all nicknamed after Alice in Wonderland characters while Terra...is just Terra. I'm not sure about Shelly, but she was replaced with Bennett in later seasons and he was the last bug leader.
