...(Glares)! I swear I need to teach these request fillers to be more trolly when giving out Pokemon. Pretty sure the point of Hardcore is that super OP mons aren't the solution to everything and strategy trumps power. I'm not trying to downplay your victory as most people do need a full team to even beat Julia (or at least four mons). Admittedly, I did use evasion hax to take down Julia's electrode though someone showed me it could be done other ways in an Ice Mono. But if you want to know what I would've given you, it would've been Duskull, Shuppet, Sableye (aka your savior mon), Nincada, Phantump, and Difloon. There's just a lot of stuff from Julia to Florinia that can shut Ghosts down...especially ones so frail. I wish you luck man, no seriously, I really wish you luck as episode 2 is going to probably be the hardest section of the game for you.

Oh god, seeing that Togepi brings back memories of Paradox and the Metronome jokes (throwing Techie out the window...good times. Good times). But yeah, that move is pretty much problematic as no matter how you put it, it's going to be a bit bias as it's too hard to really randomize moves and pick one though...the only thing I see that could replace that is the tutor move Covet. The only reason I even had Metronome and Paradox was that she was super underleveled (as she wasn't going to fight until real late) and mostly for humor than a battle. -
PUndertale (A Pokemon Reborn Hardcore PU-Only Run)
Commander replied to Lord Chespin's topic in Team Showcase
If we ran by that logic, I'd have to scrap half of all bosses and partner's teams just because they can't always survive more than one shot. You should consider it grateful that I have both Florinia and Julia megas to help this out. If anything, I'd just give her back that Brongzong leaving no mega to help you. And besides, the partner is only there to help you, not cater you to victory and I've never had Mega Aggron get KO'd right away in my four test trials though it is intentionally on the weaker side but has its uses. -
All I have to say is to man up already and stop whining. We are Rebornians. We enjoy suffering through countless of reattempts over breezing through a gym leader (cough Ciel cough) so wouldn't you rather struggle at what should be the hardest part of the game than to just sweep them or win by exploits. (Besides, the AI won't be that much different than what it is nowadays). That reminds me, the whole Radomus won't do Trick Room was all due to a speed thing so Gallade was what stopped Radomus from doing it in the first place. It took me forever to realize that, but yeah...thank the heavens Shelly will use Rain Dance now.

Oh the maison battle. You do not even want to know how insane the unnerfed maison battle was. Flobot had her cradily around lv 72 and Blake led with a 77 Walrein in which he ko'd half of Florina's team easily. It was also a blessing Fern led with his Haxorus as that was the least threatening thing he had. -
Whew that's a lot of background knowledge in a single chapter, but I suppose it works in your favor here. Still, I'll wait until seeing the third chapter before giving out my complete thoughts (one thing I've learned is to never really judge a story until you get really deep into it). I PM'd you all the little comments stuff (curse you no copy and past abilities), but I'd say it was kind of lackluster on my behalf there. But yeah, you've got yourself another reader here.

Oh Huk, don't take the personal bias thing about how it starts to heart. It's just seen it done so many time horribly that I don't care to see it all that often (and it leaves a lot of confusion and not in a good way). If I found something wrong, I would've said something. (And trust me, that is nothing compared to when I see someone use present tense. You do not want me to go on a rant about that). And as for typos, you'll have to forgive me as it's just a general rule for me not to do super simply one like a missed capitalization and only point out easily missed or jarring ones like that *Clink* one I mentioned in my previous comment. If I had a dollar for every person who wanted me to point out their typos because they were too damn lazy to proofread through their work, I wouldn't have a part time job. I also did catch on to the dialogue as I kind of know when something is an error and when it isn't there. It used to be my strong suit after all. I'll PM a couple to you when I notice them (after Rose does it though). I must say I really like the clash of personalities between Ivo and Aster. I'm enjoying what I'm reading, but I never really judge a book by it's first chapter. I'll try to read chapter two sometime tomorrow...well technically today but you get the idea.

fangame Verdant Tales: Symphonic Horizon
Commander replied to Dylanrockin's topic in Fan-game Exposé
So been a while. Truthfully, I've been a bit distracted by Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel and the one thing that came to my mind is that "Dylan would probably really enjoy this game." As for help, I just don't have the time considering I'm technically the storyline writer for one fan-game and help quite a bit with another as well as my own stuff. (Generally I stick more to writing than to all that artsy stuff). -
What if I told you I double teamed haxed my way to victory wiping both her electrode and heliolisk with that Snover. Mist is a very popular move due to changing the field as it's a cheap way an effective strategy that works on almost all bosses. And it's my general rule of thumb to throw things at people that they'd never consider and not always give them what they want. I'm also going to enjoy watching Victoria slaughter you later
-
Other than my personal bias against starting with the action (or dialogue in this case) then building the setting from it's not a bad start. I kind of got out of class early and had nothing better to do so...I decided to read a bit of this. And yes, I can see the typos here and they are strong (most are pretty obvious so I won't try to point them all out). This line's my favorite to poke fun of though: *Click* The blade hit its sheathe with a mechanical click as it locked back in place. Nothing is particulary wrong here, but mechanical click is redundant as the following sentence should be describing the clicking sound (aka removing with a mechanical click will let the sentence read a lot better). I'll get to finishing the chapter before continuing my comments, but it seems my old writing habits die hard (I used to do a ton of critiquing a few years back so...it's a bit of a bad habit to do this).

the adware of zodiacs :((( Thanks windows
Commander replied to nepeta100's topic in General Discussion
First and foremost, you should run a scan with Malware bytes in order to get rid of most adware/malware. I had a really bad string of malware on my old computer and it was an uphill battle to fix. You're going to have to also start by searching for the exact files the adware inserted onto your computer and probably wipe the internet browsers you use (you should wipe them as it might end up forcing you to repeat the whole process again). It's also important to uninstall the said program as well, but that's a given. -
Help with Fern in the Grand Hall (Steel Monotype)
Commander replied to N1bel's topic in Team Showcase
Let me see, that Roserade might be a Pain with Sleep Powder but you could try setting up your Klingklang on his Ferroseed (though it'd be a long and painful battle) to one shot his roserade with Grind Gear then. I don't know if you have that berry that lets you wake up (Chesto, that's it), but you could try that to get a free hit in. My advice is pretty limited though due to making harder versions of these guys so I don't remember old movesets very well. Onix is worthless in this fight so using Rock Tomb on Roserade is probably your best move with him. -
Well the Pokemon I gave him were Snover, Castform, and Vanillite, but I'd say Castform was the only one I really, really need (Ember FTW!) Technically Castform is a normal type, but it can be an Ice type and given how limited your options are, I say anything goes for Ice Types.

Ymora Academy Chapter 1: Bonds [IC]
Commander replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Recap of the Battle Citrine and Wolt sent out their new partners in a one on one match. Wolt tried to distract Citrine's Rotom with a Baby-doll eyes, but to his dismay, both Citrine and Techie weren't paying attention. He then ordered Athena to destroy the leaves around them so that his opponents would actually focus. Unfortunately, Citrine seemed to be more focused on the clouds, but this all seemed to be a diversion while Techie charge up his attack. Athena then attempted to tickle the flying ghost...but it failed miserably and received quite a shock from Techie's Thundershock. Wolt then decided to try and go full offensive with a bite attack and while it seemed Citrine had the upper hand, her Rotom was OHKO'd by that Bite attack ending the battle. Meanwhile, Citrine's Skitty was watching on the sidelines being very skeptical at the strange battle that had occurred. It seemed her trainer had learned quite a few battling skills believing she simply faked the loss oddly enough. She gave one look at Wolt's Eevee ready to challenge them at any time before following Citrine off the field. Aftermath Citrine walked a little ways away from the field before grabbing Techie's Poke Ball. She released the little Rotom who was then doing circles around Citrine. The Skitty glared at the little ghost. For someone who just got knocked out, he certainly had plenty of energy to spare. This pretty much confirmed that Citrine pretty much faked that loss. It made her wonder if that attack even landed at all. "Man, that was a good show. You almost fooled me at the end there. I guess it just show we were born to perform." There was a grin on the girl's face while the Rotom tried its best to do a little curtsy. It's not easy when you don't have any legs. "So, I still don't recognize a lot of people. We should probably introduce ourselves, if you know what I mean." The duo had that look on their face that was asking for trouble which this Skitty did not want to be a part of. The Skitty was annoyed by the whole idea this was simply a show and not anything serious, but it did relieve her a bit. This girl certainly had skill and quite the potential to be a great trainer, but she chose the Coordinator path so it'd be tricky. Perhaps she could use that playful energetic style of the duo to her advantage. Everything about the battle made sense except one little thing: though it was all for show, why did she hold back in the first place? Giving 100% is almost always far more entertaining. -
Err...I kind of got a request from St3ffo to add a couple pokemon like Rotom and Snover, but I'm the last person you should ask because I rarely give people what they want. I also want to say that this monotype challenge can be done and here's my proof:

Oh yeah, it was very noticeable though I'm starting to question if the makers of essentials are a bunch of trolls now. I have had plenty of time to get comfortable with the AI and it's shenanigans. The number of times I had to manipulate the AI (cough Helioptile cough) just to get it to work was rough due to that. I'd say the AI system is more like an old car with the Windshield missing. It works, but it's not always a pleasant ride.

I swear to god I need to stop playing insanely long RPGs. I quite literally have been playing the game since the 22nd and just beat it today. I can already tell you my opinion of the game from the start is actually very different than from the start of the game. I must say that you really cannot judge this game until you see that the end (which is technically a to be continued screen). And trust me when I say you're probably going to be buying the second game if you play this one. Anyways, I'll actually give a thorough review of this game starting with the negatives which you'll understand. There's really nothing that particularly sticks out in the game aside from a massive amount of lore due to six games taking place in the same world. LoH Trails of Cold Steel focuses on Erebonia and gives quite a bit of detail. With that said, this story does drag on and feels a bit tedious and very linear when you do that side stuff such as quests, but fortunately quests aren't all bad, but it's definitely a ton of filler if you don't care about learning backgrounds of characters and the world. Most of these will take ten minutes the most if they're optional. There's also a bit of lag and freezing, but I only noticed it closer to the end of the game (I have no idea what caused the freezing, but it's probably just my game or PS3 and it only did it starting the game up). The game is also very text heavy and there will be many scenes without voices (the only ones that bothered me were the areas a character would talk, but Rean wouldn't). Then there's tree graphics. The trees look ugly in this game and the graphics aren't the greatest in the world, but they work. Despite all of that, it doesn't hold the game back at all. This is a very story driven RPG so combat isn't the greatest, but it's definitely a lot of fun as it promotes going over the top against enemies. There's a lot of little things and some of the late game bosses (and a certain dungeon's enemies) will give you a bit of trouble, but it's very enjoyable for someone just joining in on the franchise like myself. I really like the Arcus link system as it can pull you out of some very dangerous situations (and once in a blue moon screw a certain protagonist over). It takes a while to get used to, but it's fun. The only gripe I have is that you can't have any more than Seven characters in a party at once (though you'll be limited to just 4 until chapter 2). And I'll just say that Laura is a freaking god at the start of the game and Fie is kind of bad, but in later chapters, Fie is probably one of my better characters (though I still use Laura due to her bulk). All the characters are different which makes using them a bit more fun. Just don't expect the greatest or most well thought out system and you'll be fine. I suppose I should talk about everything else before going into the story. The music in this game is great and I love the boss themes. (I'll link one below the paragraph to give you and idea). There's a ton of music and it just always fits the mood. I also really enjoyed the voice acting (especially a certain instructor with a love of beer). I think a couple character voices pretty much make the character, but there isn't anything cringe worthy (though sometimes Alissa's voice irritates me, but only in battles). The graphics look pretty good, but the hair is a little odd and trees. The only other issue is that this game has very linear maps and won't be much outside of straight lines so don't expect too much from it. There are a couple cool things, but I'm sealing my lips as you'll have to play the game to find out about them. Now for the story and I want to get something off my chest. The first 20 minutes of the game are complete shit and pointless. Seriously, removing them would've made it so much better. Basically, they open the game to a later part in the story for traveling back to the beginning like a certain game called Chrono Cross. Unlike Chrono Cross...dammit that might be a spoiler, but they had little reason to put that there in a nutshell. If you remove that section out, the story is very solid and really well written. The game is basically divided into 6 chapters plus a prologue where they go through a pattern of school life-exam-field trip in that order. While they do repeat, all 6 chapters build up into what I would call a finale for that chapter, but the bigger focus is building up characters for the most part. Speaking of characters, I should tell you that the writers really don't belittle any character. I hate the whole name thing (you'd understand what I mean when you see it), but if they have it, expect to see them again such as Claire aka the Icy Maiden. I said earlier this game has a lot of lore going for it and I'm not kidding. You can actually read about it from newspaper articles, books in the library, and there's even a novel about a vampire (haven't read it). You even get to visit a couple hometowns of your party members in which you learn a bit more about them (though that doesn't always mean they're the star of the chapter). The only thing I'll say is that this game is for development and buildup so yeah it might be a little slow, but it was enjoyable due to that. Seriously, I loved this game and I don't know why. And just a warning DO NOT WATCH ANYTHING FROM THE SECOND GAME AS IT HAS A HUGE SPOILER! As for closing thoughts, I want to give this game a 9.5/10 as it really deserves it, but I would say it's more of an 8.5 or 9 due to its faults. You'll have to push through the start but after a point the story gets really good due to that slow building. If you enjoyed games like Tales of Symphonia, Persona, or even Xenosaga (or really classical rpgs FFs) you might want to give this one a shot (it's 40 dollars on PS3 and totally worth it). Just a warning though: the ending of this game only marks the halfway point in the story and not a complete wrap up. I'll be playing other games in the series while I wait for this game's sequel to come out.

Oh god I didn't realize how much of a 180 Rosie is from the previous RP, but I kind of really like it so that I'm not going to change it. But yeah, I made that little Gypsy reference because I know Burrows, Zuko, and Gypsy aren't coming back (probably Paradox too...considering this is Citrine we're talking about). And Citrine is very interesting when it comes to battling. But if I wasn't planning on her losing, it would've actually been a really close battle believe it or not. -
There is so little content lost from seven to nine that you may as well start on nine. The reason you won't find anything before that is due to the save file system being different you'd basically have to start a whole new game just to continue to Episode 7. Episode 10 (NOT 10.5), Episode 13, and Episode 15 pretty much cover all the big changes and you'd only miss out on one Florinia fight that wasn't much different than Episode 7. btw, you might want to upload 10.5 and 14.5 as those had some major changes to the game, but it's up to you.

Battlefield of Ymora! [IC]
Commander replied to Felicity's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Citrine vs Wolt "Now thunder wave," ordered Citrine. The little Rotom released a quick wave of electricity at the foe. Thanks to the electric field around him, the Rotom was able to release the attack before the Eevee got close, but it wasn't enough to stop the attack. The Rotom felt the fangs of the little fox dig right into him. The single attack was just to much for the little Rotom as it collapsed to the floor after being released. Citrine pulled out Techie's Poke Ball and beamed him back in. "Bummer, I gotta say that was a little anti-climatic, but a fight is a fight. I'll catch you later then. C'mon Rosie." The Skitty was still quite skeptical. There's just no way she should've lost that fight. Even if that attack was super effective, that Ghost should've been able to handle it especially given if the T-wave landed. One hit shouldn't be enough to KO anything. She looked over to her trainer who was walking off the field. Nothing added up. An amateurish street rat shouldn't be able to battle like that unless they taught and even more strange is that she enlisted into a school made for battling and it's as if she didn't care about battling. She then thought that perhaps this strange behavior is why she was sent here instead of that godforsaken glutton they call a Venonat. While she could spend hours making theories, there wasn't much point. She turned to give a quick grin at the Eevee showing she wasn't afraid to beat it down before turning to follow Citrine. (Sorry to cut this battle short Exlink, but this battle was more or less going to end this way anyways and we would've been spamming the same attacks for a week now due to our typings). -
If you think Julia is bad wait until you see what's coming XD. But I can understand why she'd give you so much trouble. Snover is probably your best bet against that thing as Ice as such a limited options (or Lord Kyurem is you're really, really desparate). And I'd be way more afraid of Shelly then Cal.

Before anyone calls me out on Techie dodging the attack, how the heck would a tiny brown fox be able to tickle a fast, tiny ghost who was quite a bit off the ground with an electric field surrounding him? Also, sorry about that delay. I had some visitors for the past few days causing me to not be on here. -

Citrine vs Wolt Citrine saw the incoming Eevee and simply snapped her finger. Instantly, the Rotom released and electric attack right at the Eevee before it could even reach the halfway point (thundershock). The Skitty was a little surprised at the girl. She didn't have time to think as Citrine wasn't finished yet. "Alright Techie, switch sides on the field and face me." The Rotom caught on before she finished and dashed right over the Eevee's head giving it zero chance to even try and tickle the little speedster. It then looked at the Eevee surrounding itself once again with electricity (charge). Everything about this battle started to make sense to the Skitty watching. Clearly, this girl must've learned quite a few things about battling somewhere because this was beyond what an amateur is capable of. Perhaps that leaf watching was her way of playing the waiting game. She must've also taught that Rotom that snapping her fingers was for thundershock...and combined with Charge...that Rotom could attack faster than the Eevee could move. It'll be interesting to see if that boy could break through a strategy like this.
