  1. You saw me plenty of times use PU Pokemon quite well such as creepy bird so it's more than possible to do a run like this. Good luck though as you might need it this go around. (Seriously though you people are crazy when it comes to challenges. Still surprised you're doing another run of this mod after finishing one and another getting deleted).
  2. I decided to create an opening for Hardcore. If anyone is interested in working on the mod with me, you can read more about it here: http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15490&page=10

Good luck and I hope you get the people you are looking for. I would love to be tutored by you but I'm sure you've had enough of me over time. ;D

  3. Okay, I thought about it for a little bit and decided to turn this solo project into a bit of a co-op effort for the time being. I'm not really in need of help, but it'd be kind of nice to have so that we can actually take this a little step further by adding gym/boss rematches. This would allow me to really expand what can be done with post game and add extra features compared to a simple beginning and end type deal. I was going to leave this a surprise, but my current project is a Gym Leader castle where you have to fight all 13 gym leaders in a row (a new one will be added each release) along with a few surprises. So far, I've nearly gotten the frame done, but none of the battles or the extra stuff. The only requirements I'm really picking on is that you have RPG maker and kind of know a little bit about it (though the latter isn't a requirement) along with a pretty strong a vast knowledge of Pokemon battling system and great problem solving skills (you will hit a wall at some points no matter how good you are). Creating trainers/teams is the big focus and depending on how deeply you want to go, I may add some other projects for you to do. So if you're interested or kind of want me to tutor you how I did all those battles, just PM me and I'll probably only pick one or two people to help.
  4. I'm more of a fan of this song for a moment like that: I applaud you for getting by that fight with a monotype. I also would like to take a moment to point out that this is a nerfed version of Blake and Fern and a buffed version of Solaris. Solaris used to not have a Mega but I was like why the heck not after a certain point. I probably went a little overboard on the Megas but its the finale or one very climatic fight (admit it, the one thing I did better than normal Reborn was this fight to capture the moment). Anyways, good luck on Ciel, though I doubt you'll need it.
  5. That's really debatable honestly as when you think about it, they were balls to the wall hard to find. If Ame didn't say anything about it, we might've not even known they were in the game. There's also a 50 level gap between the event (which is also hard to get to) and the supposed Mega Stone if it were available in E16 so I don't think that'd really stop the ring from being available. They'll likely be released when the Life Orb gets released since Megas more or less are on par with the Life Orbed non mega version.
  6. Weather...I underestimated your complexity, but thankfully I figured it out so we don't get stuff like this for what I'm doing. http://postimg.org/image/65bdzf9on/

  7. Hehehe that's nothing. You just get a backup file for every time you save. In E16 though, I believe they're going to cut it down to 10 only. Just delete the ones not marked as game if it gets to be too big. And trust me, they don't stop:
  8. Honestly, the whole mod thing should be dropped. It was discussed and what's done is done. That really hasn't anything to do with the topic at hand in the first place. It doesn't really matter what happens as it has no correlation to this (and really shouldn't). The only reason I'd see it as a huge problem if half the community was affected by this...which I don't think as many people are as you'd think. As for all that other stuff thrown around, this is how I feel: Reborn is like one really, really big family. I mean we all aren't going to get along on everything and even get into huge arguments where we distrust each other. That doesn't make us any less of a family. So can you really blame people for forgiving what Hunter has done so easily? Nobody wants to stay mad at family forever otherwise it creates a mess for everybody. Besides, we all tend to like to stick together. I'm also sure everybody here as done something very stupid that they deeply regret so let's not try to pin it on a couple people or try to reform the whole community over it. And I still stand that it's not bravery to admit the truth when you get caught. Words are merely words and being into writing I can tell you how true and untrue that is. It's the actions behind them that start to give meaning to them. It does take courage to truly accept the truth and to face the wrongs you have done. I don't think you're a bad person, Hunter though which is why I wouldn't hold any of this against you even if I was closer to you.
  9. At this point, just bother Solorance to make a zip file of it because I'm too lazy/don't feel like going through that process again. It can take up to 4 hours if my internet keeps dying. It'd give him something to do while we wait.
  10. Huk, I'm gonna be honest with you I kind of had a hard time arguing for keeping Hunter on as a Global Mod because of this. I know plenty of government people had to step down and removed out of office such as Nixon because of their lies and schemes. But anyways, I'm not really going to take a side in any of this for what happens. Whatever happens happens and can't really be changed.
  11. I'm not really sure what to say to this as I was never really close to you. Honestly, the only people I'm close to on here are probably the RP players and that's about it. I know that some people treat this as a haven so I suppose I can understand why they are more upset and effected by this than someone like me is. Pretending to be someone you're not is not the worst thing in the world. People pretend to be the opposite gender on the internet all the time. The reason why this is an issue is that you let it spiral out of control. After everything is said and done though, there was one person who was hurt the most: you, Hunter. All you're really doing here is admitting defeat and fessing up the truth. It doesn't make you any more cowardly before. I know the fears of failure and rejection can get strong, but you just have to accept reality and admit the truth to yourself. How long did you think that lie would last? I know any time I lie that people will figure it out sooner or later so usually lying delays the truth. If you would've went to someone or tried fighting back on this, maybe I would've shown some sympathy. Nothing really has changed from this. It's what you do down the road what will. Do I trust you and everything you just said is the truth? No. Am I going to hold any of this against you? No. If I let stuff like this get to my head, I probably would've ended up committing suicide for all the hell I went through. Holding a grudge against you would simply only be hurting me. I mean sure I would talk to you still and kind of act like normal Commander (whatever the hell that is) because this really hasn't affected me. Still, I honestly hope you got something out of this and perhaps try to better yourself in the future. Personas are fun (aka RPing), I will not lie, but not when they start to become a reality. As for the mod thing, I haven't seen Hunter abuse his power as a mod nor go out of his way to threaten people. He does a decent job at moderating so I'd rather keep him there than replace him with somebody people might despise. That ain't my territory though so I'll stay out of it.
  12. Yup you just right click extract files (I think you can play it in the zip though, but extracting is easier). Usually I select the desktop, but you can do it pretty much wherever you like. Just know that Hardcore runs off of Reborn's save file system so if you want to keep a save, you might want to rename it. As for the 7-zip, as long as it's not like 2GB or a large size, I'll see if I can use that instead.
  13. I'm surprised that nobody said diglett's in the pre nerf cave field effect. Do you know how annoying it was having your Pokemon OHKO'd by a diglett because of Magnitude. You also can't escape because of that darn Arena Trap ability. Seriously, that po'd me more than anything and it made cave grinding very tedious. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They aren't walls once you get the beat of the rhythm down. I'll admit that I struggled a lot on my first run because I wasn't very good at Pokemon and it was fraustrating to be stuck at a leader, but I enjoyed Reborn for that reason. It felt good getting your butt kicked and it forced you to get better and improve. The second run through I breezed through the game except for Kiki which I struggled. The only time I was ever worried about the level caps was Aya in the first run because Common Candies didn't exist back then. I think the game is very fair in how Ame circulate's Pokemon, but TMs and move tutors not so much. This is the main problem though: I feel Rejuvenation is far more atrocious with this issue because imo it relies heavily on grinding on some of the late game bosses because the fields are just that brutally unfair. Valerie you pretty much need a different team because she just does way too much damage, almost always outspeeds, and the rain boost doesn't help. The problem with Audino grinding is that the new pokemon are usually weaker because all they can get is HP creating a bit of a paradox in the process. Audinos can also be a bit of a pain to grind on...making the game lag a bit more than it should. This is kind of my thought process in making hardcore: people already played Reborn and want a challenge, but they probably don't want to spend hours grinding off of Pokemon just for some difficult battles. I did a little experiment by throwing a lucky egg and exp share available right after receiving your starter. I was expecting leaders to be too easy and everyone would be over the cap...except they weren't and the battles were still difficult. Due to the five level shift, I actually was able to triple the amount of experience compared to the official game of reborn. Here's kind of how it went down: In normal reborn, you rarely saw fully evolved teams for normal trainers until about Charlotte. Some are fully evolved, but many teams have mid staged Pokemon along with them. In hardcore, you start seeing them around Florinia. Combined with the five level shift, it's kind of hard not to be in level range unless you change out 3-6 Pokemon each episode. There were points I had no idea what the leveling would look like which eventually led to a revamp of the whole mod to better balance it out.
  14. Pretty sure everybody uses either winrar (what I use) or 7zip to extract those files. That's something I'm going to shove on Solarence though or somebody else because I'm not the most techy kind of guy. I'm just a really fast learner is all. Thankfully a lot of the things I'm doing won't take that long to replicate in future releases. But yeah, tech people, this is where you can come in and save the day.
  15. Other than Ciel, you're not really missing out on that much compared to if were somewhere like Florinia. A lot of leaders got slight adjustments to their weaker Pokemon, but you're not missing out on that much. 2.0 kind of brings more balance to the overall game. I mean unless you want to fight the strongest possible Ciel, you're better off waiting for 2.1 as that's where the post game challenge is going to be added (data miners could probably figure it out even though it's only mapped in 2.0). Btw, I'm about 10-15% done and about a fourth of the way done eventing. It takes a while when you have to do stuff like this: As for 2.0, it worked completely fine with my save and I even checked the Exp Share and it was there.
  16. I'm looking into it, but it's either possible the PBS folder is reading off of Episode 15's official stuff or you're not clicking the right icon. In the 2.0 folder there should be a Reborn icon with game that you should use. If somebody else is having trouble please let me know (also let me know if it is working properly). I know 1.81 works properly so you can use that one for the time being here
  17. To be honest, hardcore is much more friendly when it comes to team changes and grinding. A surplus of experience half the time along with the lucky egg and exp share at the start of the game scream: HEY! USE MORE THAN JUST SIX POKEMON! Heck, I barely even used the lucky egg and exp share outside of grinding new mons as you really don't need them. I doubt it'll get stale because there's like 500 options to go from and most have some viability when they're available.
  18. Taken straight from Chubb's guide If you're playing in Reborn Hardcore mode, you can find a Lucky Egg and an Experience Share here. This is so you can level up easier, since you'll probably need it. Beware the Techie here, though, he has a level 70 M-Rayquaza, which is meant to be a reference from when Ame forgot to take out that Pokemon in a release of the game (she was testing out the M-Rayquaza and Primal Kyogre and Groundon). This is one of the very few things you might hear about Reborn Hardcore mode due to most of the other changes either being changed trainer teams (duh, it's called HARDCORE) and two new battles by the creators of it.
  19. 2.0 is done and I've linked the downloads on my run. I'll let Jamak handle the links on the expose. Now onto that behemoth of a post game challenge.

  20. Okay you can download 2.0 here and this time I didn't forget to delete the PBS files. Anyways here are the links: Mega Mediafire Also, here's the change log: I noticed a couple things I forgot to delete so I recommend upgrading to 2.0 soon if you're playing 1.9 unless you want to fight an Orderly with a Mega Banette (seriously can't believe I forgot to get rid of that). Anyways, nothing will change from 2.1 main game wise as it's more of an additional content update.
  21. Now it's time for the last update of my run...this is kind of sad honestly. I'm not going to go into too much detail on the Fern/Blake and Solaris fights as you really have to experience it to get the feeling. They aren't as high leveled, but they're still hard for those who aren't prepared. Solaris is a bit harder though. Vs Blake and Fern Sir Robin was able to one shot Walrein making my life much easier. Fern's Ludicolo was annoying, but it was the lesser of two evil because thank the lord it didn't rain dance. I slowly tried taking Blake's team down, but Florinia was actually putting in work especially with her Mega (it replaced Torterra and I feel it's much better of an option). I had to use a max revive to bring back Emboar but Florinia Cradily put in work by sweeping a few of Blake and Fern's Pokemon with that Curse strategy (yay!). Fern does skew a bit more to the Grass mono again only having one non grass member this go around. Vs Solaris and Johnathan This fight is hard. It's actually where my first attempt ended because Solaris now has a new Mega (I'm not saying which one as it could be any of his 4 options...it's not Garchomp though). This battle was pretty intense but Sir Robin was able to live long enough to KO his Excadrill. Things were dropping dead a lot on both sides about equally so it was hard to say who'd win. I had to use a couple max revives near the end when his Garchomp activated his Liechi berry. What was so cool was that the battle ended with Solaris's Garchomp against my Rotom-W and Julia's Helioptile. Thank the lord Helioptile was faster and finished Garchomp off with a Focus Blast. Techie's Hydro Pumps could barely dent it with the screens up. (I also really regret not bringing Van Ice to the fight). Here's a pic of my team for that fight (it really grinded down to Techie in the end though): Vs Ciel The only super spoilery thing is that she now has a Gyarados. All of her Pokemon have something based on Sound and Dance, but they lean more towards offensive now instead of defensive. Her AI is a little wonky so it'll either be super hard, super easy, or possibly somewhere inbetween. I'm satisfied with her current team though. I also tested Charizard and Drifblim, but neither are really able to do the damage they need to at this point in the game. Charizard is leagues better than the Life Orb Talon though. Anyways, here's how my fight went: I lead with Van Ice trying to take the Togekiss down...which is honestly the bane of my existence. Thankfully I got 3 blizzards in a row and managed to Freeze hax it. She then switched to Archeops so I was able to get two Ice Shards on it before the bird took Van down with Stone Edge. Jack came in, set up a Trick Room then finished it off. Next came out Noivern...and for some odd reason it used Heat wave on a Blastoise (I was actually planning on mirror coating a Dragon Pulse...and if that thing used Boomburst...I was done for). I had to switch back to Jack...Leonardo got burned btw and Jack did something to finish it off. Togekiss came back out and Chubb actually got KO'd by it since it defrosted. Techie came back and got his revenge though. Next came out Gyarados...who had nothing to take on Techie. After a Discharge, it switched out to Gliscor who is immune to discharge. One Hydro Pump and it was down though. I then sent out Sparkplug who finished off Gyarados with Discharge. Next came out Ciel's Ace, Altaria and I had nothing on this thing. My plan was to send out Grim who used Will-O-Wisp on it while surviving and Earthquake. Then he died a single Hyper Voice so no potion making for him. The fight basically was Leonardo using protect before switching to someone to fodder off until that Altaria finally died to burn damage. That fight took me about 4 attempts, but the switches were so lucky as all her Pokemon can hurt. Here's a pic of the team afterwards: Just one little bit message before I close: 2.0 isn't going to be released today as there are some little things I need to do such as dialogue editing and a couple more adjustments. I'm going to push the little post game challenge back until 2.1 which will be the last update until E16 is released. Thank you all for supporting the mod and this run and hopefully the revamp helps deliver a better challenge that people are looking for.
  22. "To all first years students; please gather at the Contest Hall where Professor Redwood will welcome you and your families personally. There he will explain how things like the Battle Points System works as well as how to obtain your second Pokémon. He will also inform you about the excursion to a Dragon Breeding Facility. The welcoming starts in 30 minutes!" Citrine heard the announcement over the speaker about the speech. She saw quite a few students heading towards a nearby building and figured that's where she needed to go. Normally, she'd skip out on these boring things, but she'd never hear the end of it from Henry is she got in trouble on the first day. She simply went with the crowd for once in her life. Rosie followed close behind trying not to get trampled. There was one thing on her mind. Something said over the intercom really seemed to bother Citrine, but she couldn't quite figure it out.
  23. In a way, this is kind of like revenge for sweeping all the leaders with it. http://postimg.org/image/4vp8t0crp/

On the bright side, she doesn't get multiple megas so no Mold Breaker EQ to take out Rotom-W.

What's the problem? That discharge ain't gonna go over pretty with it anyway...

  24. Am I the only one in the world who has trouble with Bennett? And yeah, I agree and disagree with the whole Serra situation. Her field is purely designed for a double edged sword. I'm not really touching it as it seems to work and her true fight aka doubles would just be way too much for most people. And yeah, Sigmund is the hard of the two fights in Yuriev, but you actually get to fight the other a little bit down the line. I love Sigmunds team though as it works so well in doubles and can hold its ground in singes. Bennett is a necessary disappointment unfortunately, but there's not much I want to do to him right now.
  25. These fights...man these fights just feel so good to win for some reason. http://postimg.org/image/z1ogzgskl/ http://postimg.org/image/4lik1c71h/
