[IC] Trespassers LF: The Teleglitch Incident

Hirata let out a slight whining sound as the much stronger maid easily pushed her away from Yvette and down to the ground, causing the young woman to shuffle about on her body pillow for a bit as she watched two of her friends continue to fight over a philosophical difference for what felt like hours already. She let out another sigh as she watched Chelchis growl, and she realized that there really was no way this wouldn't end in tears and the chances of her and anyone else dying becoming uncomfortably more likely, which is why she reluctantly sent her mutant striding down into the fray with a tired sounding,

"Oh, I'm going to have to save the two of you from yourselves aren't I?.... ffffineeeeeee."

"Trade?" Shamhat thought about the offer, and then asked "what do you have in store for me?" Her interest was piqued, so she decided to wait at the intersection for a bit as she watched Morp try to to squeeze through the rubble before them.

[9 vs 19]

Greg finds neither trap nor secret as he walks down the hall tapping things.  He makes it to the other door and back safely.

Morp finds that the air up here is different.  Almost like its heavier somehow, sour or acrid, and it generally makes him uncomfortable.

Str: 47 vs 40

Luck: 34,

Con: 19 vs 25,

Deadlift bulldozes forward quickly creating a sort of caked stone from powdered concrete and assorted crushed rubble.  Eventually however he starts feeling light headed, it gets difficult to breath, and he's coughing almost constantly.  His muscles burn more than usual and even his skin is starting to turn red and blister in places.

The noise only get's louder as Evelyn get's closer to the door.  She passes through into what was once another "outdoor" chamber, dirt covering the ground and bushy plants in the corners.  There are two doors leading out of the room, one to her right and the other to her left, but what catches her attention is directly in front of her.  A makeshift barbwire fence blocking off a massive twisting..blob...thing.  It covers nearly half the room and the sound is clearly emanating from it.  It has a glossy black surface streaked with the occasional swirl of bright color the flickers in and out.  Evelyn finds it difficult to process what exactly its boundaries are as it doesn't even seem to know.
A small portable data terminal is sitting on a stack of crates nearby with flashing bold red text that says:

 Important Message.

"Hah, if you wish to join the fray, then by all means, let us fight too!" And with that said, Yoko went back to focusing on defeating her current opponent, letting out a shout (this time, more triumphant, as she'd brought down that strange defensive field the four-armed warrior was using), and swinging directly for Chelchis' body.

Yoko uses Hands of Stone again on Chelchis, getting that damage race on! That's 2d6+14 again.

Spoiler

Blaze Tattoo (Perk, Level 1): The power of the Blaze Tattoo inscribed on Yoko's stomach contains the power of the Fire Ring, the flickering sharpness and power contained within the body and spirit. It also can set her fists ablaze with magical fire that makes her blows something to behold, of vigor and of the aggressive power of the spirit. Yoko adds DEX+SYN damage to all unarmed attacks for the rest of the battle. Once per World.

Full Moon Tattoo (Perk, Level 1): The clarity and strength of the spirit of the Full Moon represents that Yoko is not merely violent, but clear-minded and devoted to the pursuit of the elevation of her spirit. It also allows her to deal blows that shake the spirit of others, trembling their very ability to use the techniques within them. Yoko targets an opponent with one of her unarmed attacks, and upon hitting removes their ability to use a non-gear technique she has seen for the rest of the battle. Once Per Battle.

Strength of Bishamon (Perk, Level 1): Yoko is capable of dealing an amount of damage in some of the wilder blows that she puts out that can surpass what one might expect even with her musculature. She is not dependent on Bishamon to do so, for his blessing is a subtle thing that has affected her growth, but her strength has been augmented for this in a manner that is a tinge supernatural. Yoko uses Strength of Bishamon at the same time that she uses an unarmed attack, giving the attack a 20% miss chance but adding STR damage to it. Once per Battle.

Move with Air (Level 2): Yoko draws upon her Air ring, honed by her training in the kikage zumi order, and puts her reflexes to use in dodging incoming blows. Yoko has a 10% chance to dodge incoming attacks.

Level 2: Dodge chance increased from 5% to 10%.

Hands of Stone: Yoko performs a punch from the Dragon Clan's Kaze-do martial art, a quick and precise punch... but with her own strength, martial skill, and Hitomi values of violence instead of Togashi Kaze's philosophy of non-lethality... it's a brutal blow. Yoko deals 2d6+Str damage to an opponent.

Violence, One on One: Perhaps there's a more poetic term for this, and if you asked Yoko she would surely know it, but at the core what this is is a grapple, engaging in very close combat with an opponent. Yoko applies the "Grappled" status to her opponent and the "Grappling" status to herself if she wins a DEX check, forcing the enemy to only be able to target her (and forcing Yoko only to be able to target the grappled enemy) unless the enemy spends an action to free themselves and wins a DEX check.

Hadaka Jime (Trick, Level 1): Yoko engages the "Hadaka Jime", or "naked strangle" (no, she is not naked when doing this), known as Autumn Leaves to Kaze-do practitioners for the way the victim's face reddens... basically, while grappling, she wraps her bicep around the opponent's neck and begins choking them. Can only be used on an opponent she is grappling. Yoko deals 1d6+STR damage, but every turn she uses it in a row on an opponent it gains 1d6 damage.

Simple Monk's Clothing: An extraordinarily simple set of monk's clothing, and nearly all Yoko will ever have on her at any given time, a set of loose and flowing green pants, and a white sarashi. These aren't anything special, particularly, but they ARE strategically chosen to work well with Yoko's tattoos and to afford her an excellent range of movement. +2 Dex.

Yoko sends a fiery swing Chelchis' way, and for the first time it actually manages to connect with the Fallen Baron's body itself, a slight crunching noise ringing out as Yoko's fist slams directly into the Ether-eater's chest, fire blasting out across Chelchis' front even as Yoko's fist itself makes direct impact. Yoko deals 19 damage to Chelchis!

Chelchis is rocked backwards by the punch, but not enough to spoil her aim -- the scrap gun fires dead center, and small pieces of shrapnel slam into Yoko's body, drawing more blood and burning her yet more. Yoko is bleeding heavily, burned in several places, and barely on her feet at all... but she is on her feet. Chelchis deals 8 damage to Yoko!

Announcing her presence, Hirata enters the fray! But the brilliant roboticist is far from alone, the large mutant she's cybernetically created entering the fray ahead of her and acting as her vanguard. Hirata and Ichi join the fight!

Str: 35 vs 37,
Deadlift succeeds in throwing himself backwards out of the cloud of poison as well as shifting a quite large amount of material forward.  However shoving the material forward so violently only causes more to fall down into its place.

Was this already going to be the end of her? She wasn't going to give mercy to a minion of the Darkness, and she certainly wasn't expecting any from such. She cursed herself for her incompetence; she should have evaded that attack, just pressed her advantage while she had it instead of trying to secure more. Still, Chelchis wasn't about to curl up and die without at least trying to take Yoko down with her; knowing she wasn't going to get the shot off in time, she took aim and fired her scrap cannon at Yoko anyway.

Evelyn

Of all the things Evelyn had seen, what she found as the source of the noise took the cake for the most confusing, which considering her history of killing those that dwelled in the Nightmare... It was saying something. Just by being nearby this... THING, Evelyn felt her blood beginning to react, as if trying to push its way out to it... But she managed to suppress that feeling, her good eye narrowing at the blob before glancing to the side at the glowing device. She hadn't seen anything like it before, but... Well, hopefully it would shed some light on the situation.

So, keeping her gun trained on the blob, Evelyn made her way over to the data terminal, before carefully tapping one of the "keys" in order to see what this message was.

Morp backs up from the wall. "Ugh, this doesn't feel so good. It's all. . .pushy and weird."

"I guess maybe I can't just go through there to find stuff. . . Anyway, I'm Morp! I'm the curator of a little collection of neat trinkets I have with me. Items collected from all the places I've been, all sorts of things! Energy storage, magical catalysts, high tech lab equipment, tomes, you name it! It's all organized by field. . . sort of, mostly? If you want something I just have to know the field to search in. And then we trade, or I give you something on credit! You'll have to pay back eventually, but I'm not that big a stickler for that sort of thing. You just can't be in debt more than one item at a time to me. What's your name?"

Morp attempts to determine if the air gets more painful as he gets close to the blocked hallway, just to make sure he isn't imagining things.

Evelyn presses a key and the image immediately changes to display a note left by a researcher some time ago, it reads:

"Teleglitch Spacetime Anomaly:

These blobs of black and colorful anomaly seems to be the only result of today's experiment with unlimited-range teleportation. We have been investigating this phenomenon for the past two hours and think it might have profound implications for theoretical physics. The blackness seems to be literally an "inside-out" space-time curvature and opens a range of possibilities for research. My colleague has already suggested we could weaponize it by capturing the field into super-intense wave & pressure containers to be used for planetary bombardment.

Oh, and if you touch it, your brain explodes."

A minute or two after she finishes reading it the screen goes back to its previous display.

Str check: Why bother?

Luck: 40,

Deadlift slams his fist cleanly through the....wall?  As it turns out the part of the wall he punched collapsed, a false front covered in masking material that sort of crumbles away to reveal a small alcove.  Inside he finds three more cans of MEAT and a strange unfamiliar module of shotgun.

"Militech Automatic Shotgun: Fire up to three shells at 2d4+[Dex/2] damage each.  May only be fired ten times before it must be reloaded with a box of 00 buck.  Ammo 10/10"

Flaws:
High Power Draw:  At the end of any encounter in which this minion is used it has a 20% chance to run down to low power and be unusable until recharged.

Actions:
Improvise Weapon: Grab a nearby object to use as an improvised weapon with effects based on a quality roll.

Overcharge: As a free action gain +1 move this round, removes stun, usable once per combat.  High Power Draw has a 100% chance to trigger at the end of the encounter.

Craft level 2: High Power Draw chance instead has a +50% chance to trigger at the end of the encounter.

Touched by the Red Plane: Occasionally sparks with red energy.  Actual effect unknown.

Smells delicious to Chelchis

Takes two action slots to equip, and acts by itself.

Odi: An AI companion contained within a body pillow of a chibi cyborg Darkness from the popular anime 'Konosuba', it does not have control over much of it's own systems, as the servos strategically placed within said body pillows can at most cycle through various preprogrammed sequences, and the cybernetic eye disguised as a part of the cover is unable to move much. It claims to be nothing more than a non sapient program designed to fool people into thinking that it's human to anyone who will listen, and it spends most of it's time trying to brute force it's way into obtaining more complete control over the servos it is linked to or trying and consistently failing to hack into appliances when it is not asked to do something, as it is honestly no more intelligent than your average uppity high schooler with a scientific calculator.
Grants +2 to Hirata’s Intelligence when equipped.

Howaitonaito: A blocky all white backpack based machine scavenged out of the parts for Toshiba Libretto 110CT, it functions as a computer and automatic assembly device that uses the augmented reality lenses she has on her mask for its display, the voice command system inside of her mask as a touchpad/mouse of sorts, and a toggleable augmented reality keyboard that responds solely to commands made by her gloves as it’s built in user interface, it contains all of the ‘secret research material’ she extensively studies inside of a locked room by herself, and also the programs and research notes and designs she has made over the years, and it can function as a CNC mill and all in one assembly tool.
Grants +3 to intelligence when creating or augmenting robotic or cybernetic creations cannot function if any of the previously mentioned items are broken or lost in any shape or form.

Considering the fact that Hirata was quite literally defenseless at the moment, she opted to order Ichi to attempt to pick up Chelchis by a leg and swing her at Yoko, in an attempt to put the both of them in a time out.

Blood ran from the mouth of the monk of the Hitomi Order - she was heavily wounded, after all, blood running down her body in streams, and several burns marking her now. But her face was in a grin nonetheless, a grin of triumph and genuine enjoyment. The fight had been an intense one, and had seen her very nearly killed, but now it looked like she was going to be victorious, and she had more or less had the time of her life. THIS was what Yoko lived for! She sent her fist flying at Chelchis again (not aiming for a kill, simply because she couldn't get away with it). "Aaaahahahaaa!"

Hands of Stone on Chelchis, nonlethal takedown!

Yoko's fist impacts squarely into Chelchis' head, and though the Fallen Baron's helmet provides a bit of protection, the sheer blunt force traveling into Chelchis' head, combined with the spirit flame that wreaths it, is enough to knock the four-armed alien out cold, sending her twisting in midair to the ground. Chelchis takes 25 damage and is knocked out cold.

Hirata simply waits -- she isn't intending to get involved in the action herself, after all. She has a gigantic six-armed mutant for that, after all.

Yoko's fist is raised in triumph, and a grin is on her face... but that doesn't last for long, the reason being that said six-armed mutant abruptly picks up the unconscious alien, swings her, and slams her directly into the victorious monk, who (barely standing in the first place) is promptly sent up in the air for about six inches before she falls to the ground, quite unconscious as well (and also still bleeding heavily). Ichi deals 10 damage to Yoko, knocking her out as well!

Hirata let out another sigh as Chelchis's partly broken and beaten body was used to bludgeon Yoko into unconsciousness, and she quietly ordered Ichi to drag the triggered alien out of the room before she picked up the alien's rifle, said, "Yvette, I know that we just met, but can you take Yoko away for me? I don't want them to wake up and just fight each other again," and then quietly walked out to find something else to do in the form of watching Deadlift tear into a wall and tinkering with a shotgun.

Str check: 41 vs 40,
Luck: 27,

Deadlift finds that a properly reinforced section of the wall is several feet thick and a massive pain to punch through.  He manages anyway though, eventually cramming the rolled up tube in before punching it through the last bit.  He doesn't get a chance to properly look through though before a thick smoky gas starts pouring in from the outside, getting close to it burns and he can summarize that breathing too much in would probably kill him.

Vratislav and co. enter the next room, they find it to be a fairly large room, almost a big as the last one but with much more going on.  There are several trees similar to those in the dome, a few large bushy shrubs, some thorny flowers, a few creeping vines under one of the trees, and a sort of artificial stream flowing along the right side of the room.  A worn path to the right leads to another door.  The only notable sounds are the murmur of the water and the occasional chirp of a cricket.

Roy having arrived only to find another person coming in behind him and introducing themselves, and then see a fight break out. Was standing in a corner pinching his nose. He WAS going to ask about the power surge he had felt while working, but since the party was still alive, it was probably fine.

"I cant believe I have to deal with these idiots"

With two quick cast of regenerate, the monk and alien begin to heal.

"I suppose I should introduce myself. Im-"

He notices the eyes of the demonic maid for the first time, Yellow meeting Yellow. A throne user? or a coincidence?
-Roy. Its nice to meet the two of you."

Hirata, upon noticing that Deadlift had just punched through an entire wall once more, and after realizing that the man had either managed to make his bracers 50% shinier (or had located a tub of fluorescent paint); finally decided that this might be a great time to ask him, "How do you do that?," with an inquisitive tone of voice as she looked up from the shotgun and craned her head slightly to the left.

As Roy stared at her eyes Jezzabella glared and let out a low hiss at him as her tail became more ridged. Yvette noticed Jezzabella's reaction and sighed a little she was aware of what that reaction was but she didn't need Jezzabella's starting another fight after on just got over.  She grabbed and pulled Jezzabella's tail once more causing the maid to let out a small yip/moan. "Now Jezzabella you need to start behaving yourself or I might have to listen to the dear Baron and punish you a bit. Now apologize to the good Sir Roy and for pushing the dear..." Yvette stopped and made a tsk sound with tongue and turned to Hirata "I'm sorry dear but I never did catch your name nor that of you large friends over there. " She said to Hirata. Once she would get an answer from Hirata she would turn to Jezzabella "There now apologize and gather up Ms. Yoko was it so we can mover her before the Baron wakes up."

Jezzabella lowered her eyes and turned to Roy and gave him a deep curtsy "I'm sorry for the way I acted and if it offended you, sir." She said sounding a bit unconvincing "But if you become a threat to my Mistress I will end you before you can try anything." She added just low enough for Roy to hear her and no one else before she moved over to Hirata "I'm sorry for forcing you to the ground Miss but please do not touch my Mistress without her permission. "She said quickly before moving to pick up Yoko.

Yvette noticed Jezzabella say something else to Roy but she didn't hear but she made another mental note to question the maid about sometime later. She turned to Roy "I apologize for my dear Jezzabella. I hope she didn't say anything offensive to you she is merely doing her duty and sometimes she can get a bit overzealous with it sometime." she said giving Roy a soft smile "But enough about that if I may be so bold to ask but I noticed that you seemed to cast a spell on Ms. Yoko and the dear Baron  though it didn't seem to be of the arcane so may perhaps you be a cleric or some other worker of the divine magic?" She asked with a hint of curiosity showing in her blue eyes

Roy's eyes followed the demon for a moment as she left. If she was a Throne user, she was clearly just as unhappy to see another, potentially hostile one, as he was. The fact she reacted the way she did at all, made it look more and more likely.

"Don't worry about it to much, its clear she cares for you. A few of my own servants would act the same way in a situation like this."

"As for the magic I used, it was merely an act of typical, mid level healing magic. I provided a boost of energy and caused there bodies to begin healing at a rapid rate. Even wounds that don't normally heal or would require more advanced treatment normally can be healed in such a manner."

It was clear that they at least knew about his throne now. He hadn't used it, but they had still detected it in his soul. He quickly went through his mental list of known throne users, but none matched. Perfect. He Diden't even know what he could be dealing with.

He was holding his composure well enough, but his heart rate had risen, and his fingers twitched a bit for a moment. If someone made a move, should he draw venom? Or ascend right away?

Yweniwa looks up from her careful study of the poisonous tree to discover that, much to her surprise, everyone has wandered off.  And based on the tracks, they've split the party!  Don't they know you never split the party?  Yweniwa goes after whichever set of tracks looks like it leads to the least people.  They'll probably need her help the most, and trying to explore this place alone sounds suicidal.

Yvette nodded to Jezzabella once the maid gathered up Yoko and directed her to wait near the exit of the room where she saw most of the group head through. She listened to Roy well it seemed that he was speaking of clerical magics similar to her world there was something off on how he explained it. It sounded more clinical the how the clerics of her world worked there magic. "I see, you must have quite the gift to get to such a level that spells such of that are easy for you. " Yvette said as she glanced around the room her smile crumpling a bit "If you don't mind me imposing on you a bit more Sir Roy but I find myself a little out of sorts here. The technology that is all around us is much more advanced then what my world has so I find my a bit unable to contribute much to things and it seems that you might have a bit more of an understanding of it. So if you don't mind my company for a little bit would you be able to give a bit of an explanation on it? It doesn't need to be an in-depth lecture just a quick overview so I can get my barrings." Yvette asked Roy switching her expression from a small frown to a very charming smile the spark of curiosity still in her eyes.

Another world huh. That could be a point against the maid being a Throne User. Unless her world also had thrones. An unlikely possibility, but a possibility never the less. This woman DID mention divine magic after all, though perhaps that held a different significance in her world?

For now he should remain cool. This was a trap of some kind, or a genuine request.
In the former case, being to nervous could tip her off and create a bigger problem
In the latter, it was both unneeded, and could make any unneeded enemy. Or just make him make a fool of himself.

"Of course. What exactly do you need to know? Or rather, what are some things you've noticed that you aren't used to?"
