You guys do know that '03 was a weird made up story right? Brotherhood is the accurate representation made by the series Creator. This series is based on a manga. However the anime maker people got impatient and decided to make an anime series before the manga could even do anything at all. Like I said, Nostalgia Goggles.

Terra gave me such a hard time this playthrough. Well actually I got her down to her last pokemon several times but Swagsire just cockblocks my entire team and being unable to set up against it really hurt us. I tried changing the field and brute forcing it, but in the end I had no choice but to use destiny bond from qwilfish which was my planned method to deal with Garchomp who none on my team could take on...or so I thought. Turns ot by letting Scrafty set up dragon dances against palossand, I was able to get fast and hit hard enough for HJK to KO Garchomp after damage from spikes. Once Swagsire and Excadrill were out of the picture the rest were pretty easy for my remaining mons to deal with. I even caught and raised a Venomoth for this fight lol, it was useful for Nidoking and baiting out Swagsire early so I guess it worked out. But yeah, Her and Corey have been the hardest gyms so far for this playthrough.

wait...how'd you have a clefable at Solaris I? I thought that was a circus exclusive. Well, fair play either way, I'm kind of sick of Magnezone after using it all through reborn as well.
RE: Saphira: I'm gonna use Stealth Rocks, Noivern, Mega Scep, and the next three fastest dragons I can get my hands on. With that massive 2x field boost to dragon moves, and +1 spAtk from the seed, all that matters is outspeeding and OHKO-ing everything. Granted, with the boosted levels of leaders these days, I may need tailwind/webs to pull all that off, but it should be worth it to just ignore whatever nonsense she has planned.
-
It was an earlier version of Reborn, not the current one but I think I got it from a cleffa who IIRC was a possible reward for that sidequest in peridot ward. Now it's always igglybuff but before I think it could be cleffa or igglybuff.
EDIT: yeah just checked, back before 15 Cleffa was one of the options. I first played Reborn in version 14.

I like Blake's old team more. His new ace fits but the other additions are kind of random feeling. I'm not following the theme here?
- Show previous comments 7 more

My issue with it is that 2 other bosses have it as a key member of their team.
What point is there to making it his ace when there's a perfectly good, completely unused Pokemon in Beartic that fulfils the exact same role? Beartic has higher attack, good bulk, great type coverage and Slush Rush on top.
Or why even have Walrein removed as his ace, it's perfect for him.
-
Cal getting a fighting type makes total sense since he's part of apophyll. I don't like him having Barbarcle though. Feels way too random and doesn't even serve him well for his fight.
I guess Blake getting water types to deal with Cal makes sense(despite already having walrein and another arguable reason walrein was a good fit for him) but Starmie seems really not suited to his personality.
-
I'll disrespect Barbaracle the ugly mon as much as I damn please
Beartic doesn't particularly suit Blake. Yes, I hear the arguments as to why he shouldn't have Alolaslash, but I think this mon is a really, really good fit for Blake both visually and functionally. If anything, I'd remove it from Serra's team rather than Blake's. Alolaslash doesn't suit Serra at all.
I agree with Monochrome about Starmie. It's perhaps the one mon Blake has that feels too random.
A Fighting type for Cal is alright, but I don't see any reasons for Hakamo-o rather than... well, anything else. Felt like gen 7 shoehorning, when Cal already has Turtonator as a gen 7 Dragon.

Always knew pewdiepie was an obnoxious twat. Glad to see it further confirmed, as well as being a racist POS. His antisematic thing looks even worse now.
Fame doesn't make one any less of a fool, I suppose.

I don't consider myself Pewdiepie fan. I have watched some of his videos, but I don't actively follow his content.
What I aimed to do was to show you how the critique or, in this case slander, you apply on him can be applied on you just as easily. Calling people racist "POS" isn't going to stop racism, it's sort of a "crybully tactic".
As far as I know the (mainstream) media was rather interested in Pewdiepie when he made the "nazi joke". So it's not like the actions of public figures are ignored. Heck, some Youtubers have even been arrested based on the video evidence they themselves provided. Then there are people who raise awareness. Let's say someone is advocating for ban on whale-hunting. Does this person achieve their goal by yelling how whale-hunters are stupid a-holes?
You are correct on that judging serves a purpose in improving. However, that alone is not what fuels improvement or change. There's more to exchange of ideas than judging. Simply put, exchange of ideas and revolutionary inventions are means of improvement. I'm sure you're aware of this, but just to be sure:
"Earth is flat."
"No it's not you idiot. Go in a hole and die." vs. "Actually, based on current evidence it's not flat at all. It's round."
The difference here is painfully obvious, but I'm merely providing an example.
Good for you for calling him out. With that said, I think your use of insults didn't do you any favors. It made you look like you decided to vent out in a fit of anger. There's a difference between arguing emotionally and emotional arguments (arguments based on emotion).
-
If someone is telling you the earth is flat in 2017 despite widespread scientific evidence proving it's not, logic and understanding is not going to persuade them lol. They don't believe the world is flat because of scientific proof, they believe the world is flat DESPITE evidence of it not being so. The scientific facts are "wrong" and whatever little fantasy world they've created for themselves is what truly matters, and everyone else are just blind to the truth or whatever. There's a reason flat earth truthers often believe in other crazy conspiracies and have bizarre beliefs or political views. They're past the point where reasoning and logic is going to work, sad to say.
A lot of racists still believe certain races are sub-human/don't have souls/whatever, despite scientific evidence showing otherwise(well not for souls of course lol, we don't even know if those exist!). While some bigots can definitely be persuaded away from their beliefs, there's a slice who frankly don't care about any of that and from my experience dealing with them bigots think more emotionally anyway with the only "science" they're interested in being psuedoscience and statistics that support their worldview. You think those guys at charlottesville were willing to sit down and have nice long talk? Nah, they were very much racist POS(I surely hope you're not going to get at me for calling THOSE guys that lol) who frankly don't care about anything that doesn't support their own racist worldview. I feel you misjudge the importance of logic and knowledge in most people's everyday lives or worldviews. Just look at the internet, access to information like never before in any point of history. You'd think we'd all be geniuses, but alas, we have people still believing in flat earths and social darwinism.
Now I'm not equating Pdp to those charlootesville guys, at least he hasn't shown himself that level of depravity thus far, but am making the point that such beliefs and behavior cannot always be turned from via logic and reasoning since they are at their basis counter logical in the first place. Pdp is a 27 year old, same age as me, he's well old enough to know that intentionally calling people *****rs(cuz he mad!) is a shitty, racist thing to do and knows very well he's going to be judged as a shitty, racist person because of it. Now from what he does here on is up to him, and being young he's got plenty of time to redeem himself, but as of now, I feel any "outrage" and criticism directed towards him is very well deserved, especially when you take him being a "face of youtube" As for getting mad at him doing this, why exactly is this a bad thing? It seems pretty normal to get mad at someone being a racist(especially aggressively), and to somehow equate this to being as bad as being racist itself or somehow looking bad itself seems rather silly.
What gets me moreso than his actual act are the people trying to downplay it though(much like trump's supporters who tried to play down his blatantly racist crap), or even worse defend it. It shows a complete lack of accountability and it's pretty pathetic that people in 2017 are going to try and justify a white guy angrily calling someone a fucking n*****r simply cuz he mad. People have and are in every right to get mad at him, call him a racist, a twat, an idiot, a buffoon, etc. He knows this, and what he does next or how he comes out of this will either prove them right even more or give him the opportunity to improve as a person and prove he's not the fool he's currently now.
----
Also, Eagle sucks your neighborhood is being torn apart, but like is the world gonna stop and nothing else matters now? Plus you know it's just not a bad word, shit is just a bad word, and had he called the guy "a fucking shit" no one would care. You're definitely falling into the downplaying thing, though in your shoes I can see why it's not a big deal to you atm so I'm not as bothered as the ones in the paragraph above.
But no really man, hate that you're suffering through that storm. Nasty stuff, how long are you in the shelter?

Holy crap @ that Kiawe/Brock fight. Brock took off his shirt, and EPIC MANLINESS ENSUED. I have a whole new respect for Brock now.

Huh apparently those aren't wings on Ariados' back, they're legs?

yeah. "crazy" is a hard character type to do well, especially since it's so subjective. compare Heath Ledger's Joker to Jared Leto's, or either of the two of them to borderlands-style crazy ie Kled from LoL or The Worm from warframe.
In his introduction scene, where everyone meets at sable's place, he mostly just came across as a jackass. I have to say, I like mercury way better as a "assassin with no respect for human life" just because of his pulp-fiction-esque intro with Emerald.
-
Ugh screw this turtwig puzzle. I'll just try to make do without him.

Beat adrienne, took 5 tries. Megawile kept ruining things as it would one-shot just about everything and sucker punch dhelmise for a OHKO which sucked. Plus I had nothing SE against it if it was on the fairy tale field. I had to get adrienne's whimsicott to first set tailwind(sometimes it would just spam dazzling gleam), then have trevenant set a trick room so it could outspeed megawile when it showed up on the field. By using destiny bond trev was able to take out megawile which let silvally and dhelmise clean house with their field buffed anchor shots and iron heads. The hard part was getting megawile KO'd, the rest of adrienne's team wasn't that bad in comparison.
You know wiseglasses for finding 10 people is a pretty lame prize.

I struggled with xem a lot too. Thankfully, I was able to cheese the hell out of him with Destiny Bond Sharpedo to off Granbull and Quick Claw Reuniclus to set up Light Screen before promptly dying, then setting up with Shift Gear Klinklang and my Delphox to sweep. Mega Mawile was sent out before Whimsicott came out to use Tailwind and turn it into a Fairy Tale field, so Delphox took it down with one Flamethrower.
-
Beat Amaria, took 3 attempts. Honestly she seemed kind of easy? Toxicorak with dry skin can solo half of her team as they deal little damage to it(mine was only level 81 too) and it can sludge up the field via sludge wave as well. Her biggest threat was rotom(of course lol) but the rest of her team wasn't too bad. I felt like she should've been fought before titania, as Titania has a tougher team. Amaria doesn't even have a mega!!!

Looking at the wiki, it seems that the Z-Move user is her kingdra in Singles (Devastating Drake off of Dragon Pulse), and her blastoise in Doubles (All-Out Pummeling off of Aura Sphere). You can't even use your Dry Skin as an explanation!
...Said look also revealed that she uses the battle style opposite of what you tell her in the Reshiram Route, rather than just defaulting to Tsunami Mode Ultra. Welp, that's nice to know!
-
So is Mosely supposed to be French? or umm Kalosian? I'm trying ti picture a voice in my head reading her dialogue but it's a bit tough.
-
I freakin HATE Taka. One of my most disliked Reborn characters. His minior swept my entire team. Really wasn't expecting him to jump me in the desert.
ugh jerk.

Just got to hardy's gym and what the heck is this!!!???? Music notation? Noooooo it's like alien speak. I actually turned the game off haha. Yeah another time, this is basically a classroom lesson.

I was pretty tired already when I posted that as I had done the gauntlet AND solaris so I was quite thin on patience at that point, I'll try it for real tonight. Hopefully I catch on as TBH part of my always wanted to learn.
FTR solaris wasn't that tough, as crygonal ripped gyrados and garchomp apart and tsreena handled tyranitar easy. Excadrill/staraptor/scizor were the biggest issues. Had to use swampert to tank and Z-move star, had steelix take out scizor as I had volcarona boxed, and donphan for excadrill. Solaris' team is so freakin tryhard lol. He just picked the coolest looking mons lol.

About to take on shelly with a monograss team. RIP me.

I really want ludicolo(he was awesome in rejuv) but it has yet to rain in my game lol. Definitly picking him up when it does though, since I'm going to need a surfer anyway and I don't want to have a slot taken by like buizel.
I haven't done any proper EV training yet, I usually don't do that until after shade anyway.
-
I was quite lucky reborn finally decided to spawn rain, as cal would've been a lot harder if it hadn't. His fire attacks were dealing barely anything and he couldn't trigger the burning field, thankfully. Still took time to take down turtonator and magmortar though.
Kiki gave me some trouble. Some of it was bad luck but I didn't have an answer to Lucario and his calm mind set ups would make him hard to KO and hit like a nuke. Didn't help Kiki kept healing him. Medicham was a problem too, as it would 1-2 KO everything with ice punch, while outspeeding everyone except jumpluff, who ended up winning it for me with a stun spore and two paralysis triggers. Overall it took about 5 or 6 tries.
Taka was harder this time, as his team seems better designed to fight against grass types. Gligar's acrobatics deals a good chunk even behind a reflect, klefki is difficult to take down with just grass types, and chatot of course is chatot. Only one that wasn't troublesome was the palm tree, thanks to jumpluff. Took one attempt but I barely won.
Solaris garchomp took 3 atttempts I believe? 1st time was a failed quick claw activation so I just reset, 2nd attempt I got roselia to land toxic and he was down to like a sliver of health where one more turn could've done it but solaris used a full restore lol. 3rd attempt I lead with focus sash shiinotic instead, used spore, then spammed strength sap and turned big bad garchomp into a wimpy garchump. One strength sap is enough for shiinotic to survive earthquake, and after that it was switching around, setting leech seed and screens and letting him suffer a slow and agonizing defeat.. Strength sap is a legit move.
Cain wasn't too bad, since it was raining and ludicolo has swift swim so nidoking wasn't an issue like last time. Muk is still annoying though, and he somehow landed 4 gunk shots straight.
Next is aya, urf. Not looking forward to this fight...actually if I was smart I'd do it before the rain goes away.

I hate critical hits in pokemon. So much.
Okay so Samson was hell. I actually had to resort to seeds for a change because hawlucha was just too OP otherwise and would birdbang everyone. I did figure out a good strat though: lead off with tangrowth(I used shiftry later attempts since he actually outspeeds hariyama)to set up grassy terrain(boosted with amp rock), then send out Gogoat with elemental seed for the def boost/health regen. Stack up 3 bulk ups(4 if hariyama KO'd shiftry right away but it only happened once), KO hariyama(with grass pelt gogoat becomes a physical fortress on grassy terrain so hariyama can hardly deal damage) and samson sends out hawlucha. Hawlucha would always lead with swords dance, so I used leaf blade to bring him to yellow(or OHKO on crit which happened only once), next turn he would use roost which would remove his grass resist and get OHKO by leaf blade that turn. After that blaziken would show up, then mienshao, and lucario, all of whom Gogoat could take on alone provided she didn't get hit by a critical somewhere.
Problem is, samson would nail a critical eventually every time I attempted this. Once it was a blaze kick, first time I pulled this strat off mienshao's first acrobatics was a critical. One egregious case was when hawlucha actually used flying press instead of roost, which he only did once out of the numerous times I tried this strat, and of course it was a critical. This had me suspecting that the AI *knows* when it'll get a critical and take appropriate action, as if flying press wasn't a crit it wouldn't have KO'd.
Eventually I had a good stroke of luck and manged to get to conkledurr, landed a leaf blade to bring him to yellow, then got..crit by 9000 brick break :I Thankfully big top was long back by then and I had jumpluff use acrobatics boosted by the synthetic seed while samson healed with a potion, which didn't help him at all lol.
But jeez that fight was frustrating. Being slightly underlevelled(63 was my highest for this battle) didn't help either, but hawlucha is just so stupid in this fight, as soon as he's on big top everything just dies. This badge took a lot of attempts, first to simply find a working strategy against hawlucha and then several attempts getting the strategy to work without being ruined by bad luck. I'm sooooo glad I got Gogoat though, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to win this fight.

I never picked up petilil since I didn't really need her thus far and it's too late to get her ATM anyway since I'm in the circus arc but yeah she would've been a big help lol. Kind of regret not doing so before.
TBH I'm more concerned about ciel than charlotte, as I at least have ludicolo and rain dance for charlotte.
-
Charlotte shouldn't be too difficult, I found her to be one of the easiest leaders in my Mono-Grass run, but I permanently changed the field in turn 1 and set rain afterwards. Paired with some Surf/Ancient Power boost for my Cradily plus Quick Claw luck pretty much destroyed her team. Ciel, however, was another experience and gave me major problems, but was still manageable in the end
-
Haha aster and eclipse were a piece of cake. Their team has a crippling weakness to grass save for like 3 pokemon(vileplume does have double resist though) and after a growth in sun set by cherrim, roserade was able to sweep them. Light screen didn't even help them lol.
I have a question, does fury badge raise the cap to 70 or 75?
-
Guys be careful of going on twitter right now, there's currently a mass shooting video flying around(possibly the worst in recent new zealand history) and it's freakin awful. Screw these white supremacists terrorists and sites like 8chan that entertain and promote them.
-
Xenoverse's new content started today and the amount of downloads overloaded the servers meaning you can't exactly downloaded right now lol.
-
Usually Noel gives me a fight but this might be the first time I beat him in one attempt. Decidueye basically walked over Clefable since she can't hurt him much due to the rain and his special bulk + field regen being good enough to tank her moonblasts. Since leaf blade gets powered up on the grass field he was hurting her faster than she could heal. I daresay Noel has been one of the easiest leaders thus far this playthrough, which rarely happens for me. I did have a good team for him this time though: Scrafty, Sawk, Sudowoodo and Decideye were enough to win it.
- Show previous comments 2 more
-
Well now it's always set to rain during that fight so setting the field ablaze wasn't an option despite having Camerupt, plus it actually helped since it weakens Noel's hidden power. I didn't have anyone to use sludge wave so I figure it's better to use the grass field to my advantage. Grass types are good in this fight now, just have something to deal with swellow. Sudowoodo handled him no problem.

Okay this regional Marill line for pokemon infinity is pretty cool. Rock/fighting with pure power? Sick.

Ooof jelly you were able to get the dragon eeveelution already. Mine is still an eevee in the box.
Also despite what I said earlier I ended up getting Tangrowth lol. It's funny because I clearly remember that Tagrowth/tangela being posted on Reddit some while back by an artist who I want to believe was one of the devs on the game in retrospect. In fact I think I commented on how its design was great but I felt like its stat changes were a bit awkward...which they still kinda are lol. Satwise it's worse than vanilla Tangrowth. Like sure it's a lot faster but at the loss of bulk and power, I don't feel it was worth it.
