same because I like the melting heat yeah I'm a Fire type user but sometime use grass type as well

A skilled player with a certain type can stand strong even at the disadvantage with the right skills. My best advice is to not think about what Pokemon you pick, but more the tools that you use. The better you know your own team, the higher chances you have at winning. Also pick Pokemon who can use Multiple Items effectively so that when you get to the leader you know you're screwed for, you can use Berries as a neat surprise (or maybe no item at all).

True that. I specialise in Bug types and I've swept Rock and Fire monos multiple times.

As a noob who tends to stick to UU, I believe that this isn't going to end well for me...

UU mons can actually do very well if you know how to use them. There are a quite a few mons in UU that are amazing in League, where quite a few OU mons would suck horribly.

I think I mentioned it before, but half of the OU is legends and megas, so UU has a pretty decent chance to be included. You just need to find suitable candidates for the job. You need to see this as a completely different meta/tier (like the usual mono) where the usual tiers mean nothing, and PU shit pokemon wreck havoc with their unique type combinations or roles in a team. The most commonly known example is that of Cradily which can destroy your Fire-starters and make Grass threatening as a type again. Did you see that in OU, UU or even RU? No. Will things like it be used in the league. Most certainly.

Take a look at the teams people used in the old Reborn league. Bazaro and Frapeto can provide a link (no time to find it now), as they were both challengers.

Just popping in here, under the terms someone uses Zororark, wouldn't their strat be shut down due to leaders seeing the challenger's Pokés'?

Zoroark is seen at Team Preview anyway, so it's still going to have ingame mindgames. It's not half bad even without the mindgames either.

What Alice said. Even if we didn't check teams before hand, we'd still see good ol Zoro in the team preview, which could as you're implying, ruin the strategy. However, this doesn't make Zoro bad. You can still play mindgames and it has good speed and attacking stats.

On the topic of using lower tiered mons, I just looked at the team I've been using since the leauge was announced just to have a cool team ready and I have exactly 0 OU mons on there. The closest I get is BL and that's only one mon. The rest are all from down below. I look forward to what similar teams people cook up.

Random thought. You already said leaders will see what we're bringing even before we fight them, but do they see only what's registered ir also the things we can change (like abilities, items, etc)?

And we know there's gonna be doubles and triples, but will leaders be able to change it up or can they only do one format and no other? To put it.more clearly, can they or can they not choose to do singles one week, dobules the next?

I can answer the first question - the leaders are only allowed to see the team and the moveset your team has. They are not aware of the abilities and items - which you can change whenever you wish.

- They will only see the team as it is registered with us. You don't have to make your complete status screen known to us, just the Pokémon and movesets.

- Whichever format they choose to battle in, is completely up to them. They can either adapt to the current situation, or stand by their favored battle format and use that all the time. It's really all up to their preference/mood.

Quick question: Can we change ivs and gender between battles like abilities, evs and items?
With the ivs we can change the HP type giving different coverage each time to a pokemon (or play some mind games with minimum or max speed)
Also if someone for a reason wants to use attract/captivate/cute charm etc. if he uses the same gender gym leaders will always know what gender they pokemons have to be.

Im pretty sure the only things that you need to keep the same are the pokemon and the moves, everything else you can change. As for Hidden Power, you would need the IVs to be the same, because whatever type HP you are using has to be the same for each battle.
