  1. ...Assuming that the whole "falling off a cliff" in the first image isn't player-controlled and intended... We seriously get thrown off a cliff in a side-quest? I mean, I get that sidequests aren't always "chill" and "safe", but I forgot they could be that bad.
  2. Lin doesn't share the same objective as the rest of Team Meteor, and Team Meteor's leadership has known this for a while now - but they don't have a way to deal with her, and saying "you're no longer in charge" to her face is... blatantly unwise.
  3. I mean, that assumes Taka survives on either route through postgame. If you're on the Zekrom route - there's still another chapter and a postgame Taka has to get through. I won't be shocked if Zekrom Route Taka survives, but I suspect that in the end, the death tolls will be balanced on both routes. (I could absolutely be wrong, and a "Taka Lives" ending would be great! I'm just speculating aimlessly.)
  4. It's not that far in, the specifics are in the spoiler window
  5. Also, while it's not like the area effect is actively detrimental, it's not terribly advantageous for him, unlike a lot of gym fields, which means you don't need to make a counter-tactic around the field he's using. He's not just relatively easy because "normal type is a bad type", though his team could definitely be scarier. (He doesn't have proper home field advantage is what I'm trying to say.)
  6. I was surprised by how easy Noel was as a fight for me, but by "easy", I mean "I lost less than ten times to him before I won". I think your team looks like it is probably hypothetically capable of winning, but that's an incredibly vague statement for me to make. At the minimum, this looks like a team that won't win the first round with him? I hope that's not rude of me to say? (I think it might be capable of winning, but if it is, you probably need to be going in with a solid idea of what Noel'll throw at you and how to counter it, I think? I'm not sure. Good luck!)
  7. Gen 8 mons won't be in the game until next version, which is the one currently in progress, and will be in the game then. That should come out within the next twelve months unless something goes horribly wrong. By badges/version number, we're 75% done, but I don't know what that is in units of content. (Some gym badges have more content between badges than others, I expect this pattern to continue.) There's a lot of content already, though, so outside of "I'm waiting for gen 8 mons to come out", I don't think there's any real reason not to start now.
  8. I'm pretty sure you're wrong, and that Erin got She also doesn't resemble Erin at all, so if you make the assumption in the spoiler, there's no reason to assume she is another Erin. (Besides, all the characters could wind up in a bad mental space in a bad timeline. No one was exactly a bastion of stability in the "sacrifice-less" future.) That said, it is very likely- given that she's got a Time Gear or an equivalent ability- that she is from an alternate timeline, or from this one's future. If we assume that, we can also assume that anyone who has canonically touched her isn't an alternate Madame X. ...but that basically just means that Madame X is not Sakitron, given that she's wearing an outfit that covers literally all of her. We don't have enough evidence to do more than throw wild guesses out, and your theory discards the most useful piece of info we have to narrow down the possibilities. (Honestly, I think the most likely guess we have right now is "She's Nim, either an alternate or temporally displaced", but that one doesn't seem all that likely either.)
  9. That depends: Have you If yes, then either no or you've already prevented it. If no, then I'm not sure why anyone thought doing what got him killed was a good idea, though.
  10. It's definitely not deliberate. If you've done 10 battles an hour for 2 hours, then the odds of not getting a pickup is around 1.5%- which is solidly in the "you could just be unlucky" territory. If you've done 20 battles an hour for 2 hours, then the odds of not getting a pickup is around 1 in 4,600, which is in the realm of "if you're unlucky, you're pretty dang unusually unlucky". If you've done 30 battles an hour for 2 hours, then the odds of not getting a pickup is around 3 in 10 million. Which is solidly in the "either something's wrong, you're incredibly unlucky, or you're cursed". Idk the actual luck you've been having, and haven't been using the EV training rooms myself so idk how fast you finish battles, but that should give you an idea as to the scope of the problem.
  11. My guess is that the gem of life is a shoddy knockoff of the archetype. And the archetype is therefore useful for most things that the gem of life is useful for, but far moreso- in fact, it seems like the Archetype was among the highest-tech stuff/strongest relics that the creators of the Interceptor had- probably not a sacrifice-based culture, and therefore not the Garu[something]. As such, the answer is probably "I don't know, but more options is always better and I bet this opens a lot of options". EDIT: Also, I think the villain decay of most of the non-X villains is simply that she came up with their evil plans, except for Geara's Giratina schemes. When they aren't acting on her orders, a lot of their schemes just- are orders of magnitude less dangerous. Even when they are, the magnitude of their schemes changes wildly based on what X thinks is practical. Madelis was wildly gloating, but I'm willing to bet the actual scheming was the "figures" and Madam X.
  12. In my opinion, Reborn has the better maps than rejuvenation- but I really liked Reborn city. It sold me on the setting, that even before team meteor, this was a grim and gritty city, somewhere between a noir setting and and gotham, with some irl-shithole aesthetic for flavor. The unnatural disasters really hammered in both how big of a threat Team Meteor was and how much the city was failing, and the deaths emphasized that meteor isn't just the assholes we facestomp in traditional pokemon games. Most of Reborn sold the setting very well, and honestly I'd say its lore mostly is self-sufficient. It's pretty clear that Gardevoir's black hole is not what a person on our world would call a black hole, but frankly the fact that the pokemon world still exists is sufficient evidence for that. Getting out into the wilderness was a breath of fresh air, but a lot of it felt wild and untamed... which was the point, I guess. I'm actually more of a fan of reborns "find the sidequests yourself, asshole" system to what rejuv has, but that's as someone with access to a guide when I need it. Rejuv makes me actually wonder about the setting, though. Reborn mostly feels like it makes sense, but. Rejuv doesn't do a bad job of constantly raising questions. Rejuv drops more arcs, though. In Reborn, every plot arc except for the hospital of horrors itself had me engaged and not rolling my eyes. In Rejuv, quite a few are botched/rushed a little or a lot. Rejuv is harder, imo, on some levels, but Reborn feels more fair in its ruthless curbstomps. The gym leaders might have better mons than you, but they aren't better by much, and only a handful of pulse mons are fighting without the handicap of "I don't have a team". Rejuv sets full-on legendaries on you in a lot of gym battles, meanwhile. Either way, I prefer both Rejuv and Reborn to Desolation. The aesthetic of Desolation is simply not my cup of tea... also there's no accelerate button, which is a huge problem. That isn't saying it's not a good game, though. It's just... long stretches of wilderness with brief patches of civilization isn't really my preference
  13. To answer the original question: I like the MC's plot. I wasn't able to get very far in "Where Love lies" because they made first-appearance-Keeta an idiot, so now I'm hesitant to try to force through. I'd probably hate to play as a regularly speaking protagonist for my default protagonist. Idk, though. I like being a muteopath, and I like the implications that my character did mourn and did care.
  14. It's a total joke of a theory, but they could be cousins. I think that'd imply good and evil sibling-pairs runs in the family, :)
  15. In short, if you care about Sakibot content in future versions and not in this version, it's almost certainly not going to be locked based on whether you won the fight or not. For more information, see the spoiler above.
  16. Madame X said stuff indicating that our death causes serious issues- potentially up-to-and-including-destruction-of-the-timeline, but at least failure of her objectives. She "had to" save us. The impression I get is she wants to steal-or-replicate Melia's power, and cannot kill the protagonist or the timeline falls apart. That said, there's the fact that even if Cassandra knows where we are, so does the Puppet Master- even if she wanted to kill us, there are checks and balances, and we don't know what resources the Storm Chasers might've put into our survival. (Also, in order to kill us in our sleep they'd have to know when we sleep, which is information Cassandra wouldn't have, I don't think.)
  17. In addition to purify, Seed flare, Solar Beam, and Solar blade will all work, according to the field effects document. (Assuming any transformation from Corrupted Cave to Cave will suffice, but I personally used solar beam to solve it and that worked.)
