  1. Hot take: The Mirror Arena is a good field

I didn't have as much trouble with Serra's field, but that was because I prepared extensively, I can imagine the gym being incredibly frustrating to someone looking to take it on with physical mons, but I can also see redeeming qualities about it. For one, it's the most flavorful field in the game, by far. It's so much Serra's field, and it's one of the effects that really takes center stage and adds character to what has historically been kind of a bland gym type. I also like how it boosts Hone Claws, making HC Night Slash Drapion a strat I really want to try sometime.

Now, all that said, I never want to see it anywhere outside Serra's gym. If it was a surprise or digi-ame was less forthcoming with field info, I would have been a lot less accepting. It's also really limited in it's ability to be obnoxious by the type that it's tied to; if it was a bulkier type the battle would be a lot harder.

      lol.

nah, worst field in the game. Easy fight but frankly I don't enjoy having to play an RNG game of whether my check to this +3 evasion, 100% crit rate behind Aurora Veil Pokemon can even do it's job properly without missing, taking a fourth of it's HP in damage and then being crit to death.

I agree, the Mirror arena is a great field....

if you are the one abusing it *cough*mirrorshot*cough*

  2. I didn't play before E16, but he didn't have one then, and I've never heard about it before now.

Nice battle. Was worried for a moment there about the badge.

  4. Unless he literally hits it dead on like he did this episode.

I am completely unashamed about setting up and sweeping here. GG EZ badge.

So before I started posting on here, I had a Reborn Wonderlocke going. I had just done the Yureyu raid to save the orphans and took a beating. Ezekiel and Quicksilver were the only survivors. I finally felt like building up a new team and continuing. Wish me luck! On to Serra now.

      i wish you good trades

  7. Nah man, Shade is still just as big of a threat as he was if it's your first time playing. I really hope he trains Peanut up to the rest of the team and evolves her. He's gonna need all the help he can get here. Also he still hasn't learned death fodder shouldn't be a thing if he can help it.
  8. Please tell me that the relationship points only take a hit once from leaving, and not every time...
  9. And with that, Madelis and the Volcanion go down without any real trouble. Honestly I expected more out that fight, but eh, guess I can't blame em for falling before my might.

Oh nice. Shadow Mewtwo targeted me exclusively in my battle, meaning Keta had to finish the fight himself. It's such a crazy boss to have for level 25, but it totally works.

    2. Alazir

      Alazir

It actually targeted exclusively Keta, so honestly it wasn't that big of a deal for me. Volcanion was the easuest Rift mon so far.

    3. doombotmecha

      doombotmecha

Oh yeah as long as you don't use special attacks it goes down super easy. I wasted time paralyzing it, then 2ko'd it with Lycanroc.

Yeah, that's just my luck. Whenever I have a partner, I always seem to end up as the focus target.

My first true challenge! This guy took a few attempts and some grinding to the cap, but I managed to come out on top in the end. As I plan to continue doing on my romp through Aevium.

Man, this guy really threw me for a loop; I'm glad you weren't as frustrated as I was. It's interesting how, in contrast to nearly every other leader across both reborn and rejuv, Keta lacks a gimmick. All he has over a mainline fighting gym leader is six pokemon and grass coverage. Thus, there's not really a lot to exploit, like there might be in Kiki or Samson's gyms.

Anyways, congrats, and have fun with the next segment; it really cemented my love of Rejuvenation's story.

  11. I wouldn't expect him to drop it until he loses. That being said, he's gonna lose at some point. Ain't no way you are beating Reborn blind without whiting out (and I don't mean at Solaris on Pyrous).
  12. I've found Garbodor to be a bit less tanky but faster, so he's better for things like T-Spikes and the like. I think Fearow would be better going forward cause it gets a lot of good physical moves leveling up, it was a great mon in my playthrough through the early and mid-game.
  13. So looking through his PC again we have: Useless - Unown Bad - Pidove and Ledyba Decent - Trubbish and Ekans Good - Ducklett, Scatterbug, Spearow, Cubchoo Great - Lotad, Mareep, Smoochum, Woobat Noibat I'm not gonna rank because he needs to be able to evolve it to get any worthwhile use out of it at this point. Lotad could be great becuase of it's typing and the fact that it learns Nature Power. Smoochum may not be the best add now but it can really help out later on. Swoobat dominates the early game of Reborn and he just really should add it immediately after Shade, if
  14. Can I just again say, every time I see a new LP of Reborn I die a little inside when they start stacking TMX Moves on mons not knowing you can get rid of them normally.
  15. The thing is he kind of needs the flexibility to use whatever mon he wants in this playthrough, it would take a lot of stress off him because he'll actually feel like he can complete the game now, but it won't remove the tension cause there are still gonna be moments that will absolutely floor him as the do jist about any first-timer.
  16. Oh yeah, Zetta and Galvantua got smacked. Zetta was down to the wire, Galvantua was actually really easy.

    1. doombotmecha

      doombotmecha

Who did you use for the Galvantula fight? I've heard Geodude might be good, but outside of that or a Lycanroc i think that spread move/debuff spam can be a pain.

Didn't even have either, Sleep Powder+Infestation just works wonders in there.

  17. Long live Belly! Kiki is the apparent leader of the team, but Belly is the foundation that the team stands upon. Without him, they would fall.
  18. Well, that dialogue with Nim, and honestly the whole battle, was just a bit "on the nose", so to speak. But maybe that's the point. Regardless, easy clap.

  19. Was that scientist supposed to be a boss? Alexa with Echoed Voice seems to think otherwise.

  20. image.png.3a3d76d1d91b8f8dea8d07cc173b2c26.png

So now I can get back to it, here's my team right out of Venam's gym. Thinking it's pretty good so far, let me know what you think!
Also, that's only one Ttartube reference, the Buizel is named after a weasel from some story I read as a kid, but Wonga will live on in this playthrough!

  21. Okay so, there was a lot of hilarity and tense situations in this episode. -Ttar is SO thrown off by Tiki's death, but I'm glad to see him get a few mons in this episode. -Dream PLEASE remind him he can normally delete HM moves, watching him get rid of Yawn hurt me. -The absolute madlad just fighting Beartic like that. -The rival battles shouldn't have been that hard, he really is off his game right now. Also some bad luck, who knew? -BELLY FINALLY GETS HIS RECOGNITION!!! -This man will learn to love Shelly in time guys, do not worry. It is inevitable. -DEAR GOD pl
