  1. So the way the save files work is that the file with the number, name, play-time, badges info are your backups, to let you know where you are in that playthrough. In order to play Episode 18's content with that save file all you should have to do is start the Episode 18 version up to play. You DO NOT have to combine the Episode 17 and 18 folders. Everything needed for Episode 18 is in the download. Is your save data in the right place? That is to say where its shown here: http://www.rebornevo.com/index.php?/pr/save/
  2. Follow the underwater sections. Eventually you will come into an area that will allow you to come up inside the big glacier currently blocking the way to Ametrine City.
  3. Yeah, I think this might be the core problem. As noted above, they use Rare Candies to avoid a lot of grinding. Problem is that means their Pokemon have no EVs, or very few. Even the random distribution caused by normal training at least makes Pokemon stronger as time goes on. And the REALLY scary thing about this is, it gets worse later. Its not until later in the story that opposing trainers have Pokemon with proper EVs. And what we're kinda seeing is what I was kinda worried about toward the beginning of the playthrough. The big boss battles can be hard, but that's expected. The low-level trainers like Aster and Eclipse have dangerous teams as well. Which means attrition, and the reality is that if you lose an average of one Pokemon every two or three trainer battles, that means you run out of Pokemon faster than they can be replaced. AND as noted also event encounters become less common later. Which means the loss rate compared to gain rate is going to get worse. At the moment, I'll revise my prediction. They won't lose at Charlotte or Serra, they'll eventually just be ground away by small battles here and there, until at least one player is just out of Pokemon.
  4. One of them opened their bag several episodes (okay like 20) and there were a buncha Rare Candies.
  5. Corey's team doesn't do well against Poison types, so I can see Cain's own poison type Pokemon beating him. And remember that when we face Fern before Radomus he isn't technically ahead of us. We're more or less even, as he has beaten Radomus, but he has not beaten Noel. What I'm thinking is basically that Cain beats Julia around the same time that we do, then goes over into Obsidia to face Florinia. Only, he doesn't have permission to enter the Park area due to his lack of Gym leader status/approval. So after we beat him at Onyx he tries to go face Florinia, only she's not available due to the Tangrowth situation. He talks to his sister around this time, they have another falling out and Cain, still thinking that Florinia's gym is closed off heads to Beryl instead, knowing that Corey is vulnerable to a type mirror. Using his Nidoking (which knows Earthquake) and Muk Cain squeaks a win against a distracted Corey, and is then informed by Corey that the Obsidia situation has been dealt with. Cain hurries to Obsidia to face Florinia right around the time that we beat her, leaving Jasper shortly before the Tangrowth is activated (as Taka was waiting for explicit orders to turn it on and justified that as wanted confirmation from ZEL that the system worked properly). He also may have been instructed by Corey to wait until Meteor confirmed that Cain (former poison reserve leader) was out of the way before activating the system. As we proceed to fight our way through Jasper and Beryl to defeat the Pulse Tangrowth's there Cain hears about what's happening, but isn't allowed back in, and so instead heads north to Lapis and defeats Shelly as we are battling Corey. He defeats Shelly, and heads up to battle Shade, beating that gym leader shortly after Shade got Corey's body. He beats Shade around the time that we beat Shelley, and then learns of Corey's suicide from Fern (explaining how the jackass knew where Cain was). Here we catch up with him at Beryl Cemetery. That puts Cain more or less on the same spot as us, with him being a little ahead due to receiving Corey's badge and not having to fight Team Meteor in Jasper and Beryl. Thus when he decides to go to Apophyll he already can use the HM required.
  6. Mayhaps Cain already has the badge? He isn't doing things quite the way we are. Maybe he got the badge from Corey before the events of Beryl Ward happened. It could also be that he knows he'll have to let you meet his family at some point, but rationalizes not giving you the key because he wants to delay that as long as possible. Something like, "Well...they have to have Strength before they can use it too...so I can put it off just a little longer." So he's planning on getting the Strength machine, then giving you the key. That way he feels he's contributed something to this stage of the rescue. Remember, Cain isn't thinking rationally. He's already blaming himself for the whole situation in the first place for not being fast enough to save the kids from Meteor in the first place, AND the guilt of getting Heather captured by Sigmund in the first place. Doing something, ANYTHING, to help could help assuage the guilt could be his way of coping.
  7. The Chronicles of Amber. Starts as a normal enough mystery story in the first book, and then the monsters show up. The first 5 books are about the struggle for the throne of Amber, the city at the core of reality. The second 5 are about the son of thevprior book’s protagonist and the struggle for the throne of the other end of reality.
  8. Ah, but we DON'T need that badge (I mean we do, but that's due to game mechanics rather than logic). We need Strength, which he can use. In theory it doesn't actually have to be us that moves the boulder, it can be anyone, we just need to take advantage of it.
  9. What I mean is that it shouldn't matter if you deleted Episode 17, that isn't where the saved data is stored. Its stored in the saved games folder under your user name. And even if you deleted THAT folder, why don't you just restore it from the recycle bin?
  10. Gen I: Charizard. I mean it’s a dragon. This Pokemon was the REASON I bought the game. Unfortunate that Blue had the better Pokemon selection. Also, it showed Ash the respect he deserved. Until Orange Islands anyway. Gen 2: Cyndaquil. My love of fire types was cemented here. This thing’s great. Being the best starter this Gen was just a bonus. gen 3: Sceptile I guess. Honestly this was the first gen I wasn’t crazy about the starters. Gen IV: Torterra. Torterra’s great. Good move pool, good bulk. Also the other two are penguin and monkey. So eww. Gen V: Petilil. Sorry, I hate the Gen V starters. Dumped mine as soon as I saw this little gal. Gen VI: Delphox. She’s a witch. Nuff said. Gen VII: Primarinia: Good typing, sweet design. Messed up gender ratio, but nothing SR’s can’t fix. Named her River Barge.
  11. As others have noted they don't regenerate, but there are actually quite a few more stones than you might think. There are some in the Wasteland which you probably haven't gotten, there are some in Apophyll Cave if you missed that place (which I always seem to on my first go through), there are more in Tanzan Mountain later, etc. A lot of the goodies you can find (such as evolution stones) can also be purchased later.

Gardevoir, Magnezone, Aegislash, or Metagross are all solid choices, and none of them overlap with types you currently have.

    looking for popplio

Eh, Popplio’s not a big help there since it’s weak to both Tangrowth’s types. You might go grab the event Growlith if you’ve found all the police and Numel if it’s raining in Peridot. Once they know flame burst you can use that to ignite the field (if it’s forest I don’t quite remember).
  14. They spawn in the caves on Route 3 (where you teamed up with Aya) now IIRC.
  15. ...so you have to modify your team in accordance with what the gym leader uses. You know, just like your supposed to with all of them. Too bad there isn't an area crawling with powerful ground types literally right before you get to Titania who could help. Truly ground types can't be found anywhere. Certainly not in the big desert crawling with Excadrill and Hippowdown. Nope, not a one. Sorry if that comes across as jerkish, but come on. You should be bringing one of those to the battle anyway since you KNOW its a steel type leader. Empoleon represents a bigger danger than Klefki does.
  16. Are you sure that's the file you want to have looked at? You'll lose any progress you've made between that save and your current one.
