As much as Fern behaves like a jerk, at least he hasn't, y'know... killed anyone yet. He's not nice, but beyond being an insensitive loudmouth, the worst he's done is... well, I guess he joined the Meteors, but it doesn't seem like he was particularly successful so far. Which makes me wonder, does this mean I actually got my wish for a Meteor wallpaper fulfilled now? *scratches head* Are there different artists working on wallpaper stuff, or is it all gonna be apieceoftofu from now on? I like their style~

You gotta give that to him, he fights for the Meteors with a burning passion~ ...Jokes aside though, Sirius is easily the most terrifying Meteor IMO (Lin aside because we haven't actually seen her do much yet, but she seems awful). Sure, a certain other has proven themselves capable of killing, too, but Sirius seems more... ruthless? Not to mention, he is basically Lin's pet dog. The other Admins certainly don't seem as enthusiastic about her.

It's not known yet if it will affect anything past E15, but you do need to save all the officers if you want to get extra content about Corey. You'll learn that Hope I didn't forget anything. I myself didn't get this part because I thought it wouldn't matter if I saved the officers first or got to the PULSE :c

...This is the end of times. Just kidding. The art looks really great! If a bit feminine, but you won't hear me complain about that :3 And it's nice to get another wallpaper so soon after the last one~ Edit: Ah, screw it, I actually did set this as my wallpaper. You win this one, Fern. You win.

Oooh, I hope I didn't spoil anything, sorry ;_; I kinda assumed you had played the scene I was talking about already, oops. In any case, you might want to visit the Beryl Cemetry at some point. I thought you'd been there already. Didn't mean to take away any surprises, my apologies if I did!

To be fair, this goes for some canon teams as well. Does Team Rocket have anything to do with Rockets? What about Team Plasma? Team Galactic had a good space theme, but not with their Pokemon. The only teams that really drove the point of their theme home on every level were Aqua and Magma. Team Meteor have, as you already hinted to know, taken on their name because the focus of their goals lies on the mysterious meteor that's said to be buried beneath the city. It's the main element of the story, so it makes sense for them to name themselves after the MacGuffin they're trying to get. Besides that, there are several more or less space themed names among the characters, like Solaris, Sirius, Aster and Eclipse. They're not as thoroughly name-themed like, for example, Team Galactic's leader crew, but it's something. In Reborn, most characters' names are more related to them individually, than them belonging to any group. Which includes some of the Meteors. The canon games aren't 100% thorough with the team themes; personally I think Reborn is doing a fairly good job. Besides the reasonable argument about the Solrock/Lunatone overpopulation, I do think there's nice variation on the Meteor teams overall; they're certainly not as repetitive as the canon ones. Being a Grunt in the Canon Teams really must suck! And let's not forget our little adventure at the orphanage :'D Simon doesn't want his revenge any longer; that much has been said by him during the Cemetry scene. The whole thing about having realized that revenge would only do more harm, and that he doesn't want to put anyone through the same pain he is going through. It did sound like he was gonna go for the kill, though. I asked myself the question about Charlotte in reverse: What would Charlotte have to say about Saphira? Charlotte is the one who told us that "They're people, too." which to me made it pretty clear that she recognizes them as individuals with their personal goals and feelings. I always wondered how she feels about Saphira's complete lack of empathy for the Meteors. Does she know that Tara died, and that Saphira did it? That's one of those things I've been thinking about a lot.

^Oh shiiiet, I like that thought very much. Where can I sign up? Overall, I agree with pretty much everything except the level cap, though I have mixed thoughts on that one. I don't mind the level cap and actually think it adds some nice difficulty during battles (*grumbles about half my team overlevelling during the Fiore Mansion battles*), but it's true that there are other, less restrictive ways of encouraging people to not overlevel. What really sold Reborn for me were the story and characters. I started playing the game knowing that it was supposed to be difficult, and that it has dark plot elements. I don't think that alone would have been enough to keep me interested (since a lot of time, people go way over the top with the dark, and give it a bad execution), but I fell in love with Reborn's characters pretty much from the start. (Well, okay, not entirely from the start, but definitely as soon as I met Florinia.) To me, one of the great things about fan content is that it can go where the original material wouldn't go. The canon games just don't get this grim, and the fact that fan games can do it, that's awesome. Take this thing I love, and use it to explore stories that the canon doesn't tell. So overall, point 4 is one of the most important for me, but not just restricted to the "evil" team. Reborn frequently frustrates my feelings by showing me sympathetic villains... and morally questionable allies. Saphira and Titania, I'm looking at you especially. The question of "Are you sure you're doing the right thing?" is really brought to the surface here. Something that's been haunting me a bit, though: the possibility of good and bad endings. Now, that's a pretty personal thing, and I know there's gonna be more than enough people who would disagree with me, but I don't like complete downer endings in games, and what I especially don't like is the possibility of getting a bad ending when a good one is also possible, without clear indication which one I'm heading towards. For me, it takes away a lot of the rewarding feeling I'm getting from playing a video game, if the ending lets me down. I understand the appeal, and I actually love it in books or movies. But if it's a game, in which I spent hours and hours working on my mission to complete the story, then I want the reward. I want to save the... world/character/whatever the story is trying to do. I'm not playing to lose. Playing through Reborn and knowing that there are several choices that affect events in the game, I am always worried that my choice will somehow stop me from getting the most out of my experience. Not necessarily in side quests/plots, but for the bigger picture. Yes, sure, I can replay the game any time, but I'd be bummed still, because usually, my first playthrough gives me the most intense emotions. But yea, bit personal. I know lots of people love ths stuff x3

Started playing at E14, and also made my account during that time.

1. Nah, dude. I wasn't gonna give Fern that satisfaction. Besides, purely in-universe, what did he think I'd do without him? Rot away in a wooden cage? 2. I didn't find the last one because I didn't think it'd affect the storyline so I was like "Oh, still missing one? Well, can look later, let's take care of this Meteor problem first." Bit sad about this now; I'd have loved to go through the Corey story. 3. I chose Aqua, 'cause pirates. 4. A friend of mine told me that it wouldn't make a difference to the story whether of not I beat Solaris. He said Solaris would just pretend he didn't even try, and then the story would go on just as it would if I lost. So I chose to lose because the idea appealed to me more. I love immersing myself in the game as much as possible, and the PC being powerless against Solaris seemed really cool to me. I can't say I was disappointed later on, either. Florinia is one of my absolute favourite characters in the game; I was so excited to get teamed up with her! And it made beating Solaris feel like such an accomplishment. I couldn't do it before, but I grew as a trainer and now I did it~ 5. Saved Heather. I don't think I even dwelled on this choice at all. 6. Downstairs. Dunno how to feel about this choice now. On one hand, Laura's story bits are cool, but on the other, I do like the way Saphira's... recklessness... gets built up some more? Her tendency to kill people had me on the edge throughout the entire arc, I was always expecting to stumble upon another dead Meteor... 7. Radomus. I didn't see the Ditto part coming, I just thought that it might be some clever plan between Radomus and Gardevoir. 8. Chose lives over the ring. I was really torn on that one, because my logic said "choose the ring" whereas my empathy said "the characters". 9. Made me glad I chose to save lives in 8.; after the dialogue Charlotte gave over my earlier choice, I decided to not give Blake the ring here. Double reward for me, as it made me feel like I was going through actual character development here, and I got the Aster story. 10. Wait, that was something you could do? Welp, I didn't know that, so nothing here. 11. I fought him. Can't hurt to keep someone like him in Team Meteor; who knows how he might be able to save the day some time. Besides, I like battling, so why would I pass up? Edit: As for the Titania's Diary thing - I admitted to reading it. I'm not a good liar :c

You have to teach it Ancient Power via one of the game's Move Tutors. One of them can be found in the Onyx Ward iirc, and another at Agate Circus. They require you pay them a Heart Scale, which you can find in some locations in the game, by mining rocks, or on wild Luvdisc. To access the move tutor in Onyx, you'll need an item called the house key, though, which can be found in the Underground Railnet.

Ha! That's an easy one! I want my disorder gone. Strangely relevant, seeing how I kinda punched a wall earlier tonight. But yeah, it would be real nice to be more emotionally stable.

"Listen to your gut feelings about people. They are right far more often than not." The amount of times I discard bad feelings I have about people, only for it to bite me in the ass later, is frightening.

Well, damn it, I gave in and ordered a Wii U. No regrets. Soon I will be a squid kid.

Let's share strange things that happen in your life
ZEL replied to Twin Judge of Gemini's topic in General Discussion
There's a guy living somewhere around here who somehow made it his habit to wander the streets almost every night between 3 and 4am. I don't know who he is or what's up with him, but pretty much every night I'll hear footsteps outside as he walks along the street, up our and our neighbours' shared driveway, and away again. He never does anything else. Just comes and leaves. Been going on for years now. I'm used to it now, but the first times I noticed, I found it to be quite scary. Thought he might try to break into our house or something.- 15 replies

>tfw two cute birds are named after me x When will Azery finally be a duck o: Edit: Wait since when am I a Solrock? I missed that! Solrock is cool~ I name all my Reborn 'mons, usually randomly. Which means I just either pick some name that pops into my head, or I make one up from scratch. Though with some I just have to name them after specific things. I especially like to name them after/reference Reborn characters, kinda like Shelly except half the time it seems to end up being Meteor names :'D I've got Luminous (Lumi) the Espeon, Eventide (Eve) the Noivern, Star (Tara) the Dewgong, Eclipse the Absol, a shiny Staraptor named Zero, and a shiny Houndoom named Sirius. As for the characters we're allied with: Anna the Froslass, Caine the shiny Scolipede (she's female, I don't think Cain would mind), Aya the Skrelp (still gotta train her) and I might name my Volcarona Charlotte because it's a Firebug huehue.

Oh my god, that Decibel <3 Badass, especially with that magnificent coat whirling around. Can I just say you draw really cool poses?

You and I are gonna get along just fine I see :3 Skarmory is my favourite as well~ Welcome to the madhouse. I'm your resident Meteor Agent, here to inform you that we are still recruiting, and that someone of your calibre will surely find a place among our ranks. I mean, Slytherin/Ravenclaw, what's not to like there? Ambition, leadership, intelligence, creativity, it's all there in that mind of yours! Don't miss out on the opportunity! ...That said, enjoy your stay here c: Reborn's a great place if you can deal with the inevitable loss of your sanity.

I'm another one of the crowd who didn't really think about it so far, gotta admit that. Ever since learning that many of the characters are based on real people, I just figured that the high number of female characters could be explained that way, but I haven't looked at it in contrast to the mostly-male villain cast before. More female villains would indeed have been nice; I mean, Lin seems pretty cool as a head honcho so far. But thinking about it, Lin is the only high-profile female Meteor member who is portrayed as unambigulously evil/made-to-be-disliked so far. Eve gets significantly less villainous with the backstory reveal, and Lumi has never been portrayed as a villain anyway. So besides Lin, the Meteors do lack some despicable, non-male leadership. Same goes for the orderlies and cultists, though with those, they generally don't have all that many important characters to offer, besides their respective leaders. I didn't see female characters being any more portrayed as damsels in distress than males, however. It only looks that way because the ratio of female to male is higher. We did have to save Cain and Noel, two of the guys on our team, and we get assistance from the girls just as much as we save them. Currently, Aya is the one in need of saving, but she only got into that situation because she saved the PC from Sirius, and if she hadn't done that and Sirius subsequently decided to take her captive, then both she and the player would have ended up like Eclipse.

My lil' Espeon plush just arrived and I can't stop snuggling it; it's so tiny and cute!

Triple battles, including Rotation battles. I love Rotation battles, they're so cool. All the double fights we've had so far were cool and I like it a lot to get to team up with people, or even to stand alone against teamed-up opponents. It'd be awesome to see the oher battle varieties make appearances. Triple/Rotation battle against ZEL when? It's the perfect opportunity. Dunno, I just like those battle forms and wish they were present in the game. Though to be fair, I don't know if this is possible, since I'm clueless about the limitations as far as programming goes.

All I can say for the field effects based on my personal experience is that I don't think you really have to train a huge variety of Pokemon to take advantage of them. Sure, if you trin the right Pokemon, you can optimize your advantages, but as for me? I'm a very casual player. I don't do competitive, I barely ever EV train (only did it crudely for some of my Reborn 'mons because I wanted to try it out), and I don't try to get good IVs. I take what I get. I don't try to assemble a perfect team. I play this game with my favourites, because that's how I enjoy it the most. And I can still make use of the fields, and haven't wanted to ragequit the game yet. I almost always find at least one effect on each field that makes things easier for me. Even if it's something as stubborn as sending out a Fire type against Charlotte to make use of the Heated Field. Even if it's just utilizing flinching moves for extra damage on Rocky Terrain. And I have not once yet had to use a Pokemon that I didn't want to use anyway. Besides my main team, I have four others in the box, one of which I consider active in rotation, the other three of which I dropped because I no longer wanted to use them on my main. I have no doubt I still could, if I wanted. I beat Ditto Arceus with two NU tier 'mons, if that's anything to judge by. Reborn isn't easy, and it's not supposed to. But I don't think the field effects or limitations on us players make it too hard to be enjoyable.

Gay People 101: Attraction To The Opposite Sex
ZEL replied to Kyoyoyoyoyoyoyo's topic in General Discussion
Gotta admit, it always puzzled me why some people find it difficult to understand that one can think people look attractive without being attracted to them. It's not such a strange concept to acknowledge that someone or something is aesthetically pleasing~ Would be a shame to only be able to compliment the looks of those who we could possibly be attracted to. I mean, I like complimenting people, compliments are nice and there's lots of pretty faces in the world. Preach it. -
Aye, first of all, welcome to the madhouse! To be honest, I think playing Reborn as a casual player and then being confronted with those battled where you have to think up a bit of strategy to win was a really cool experience for me, too. It was nice to be challenged c: As you've already been told, sanity is not needed here, and hey, you know what? I think you sound just crazy enough to make a fine addition to Team Meteor, so you should totally consider joining :3 You wanna be the very best? We can help you. I guess. I mean, the hard work's gotta pay off eventually, right? Aaanyway, enjoy your stay here~
