  1. I can see how we might be required to kill eventually, but I don't think we will be doing so multiple times or "just because it would be convenient". Reborn already has a character who fulfills that exact role: Saphira. She is implied to be the strongest among your allies, and she has shown several times already that she is willing to kill anyone who stands in her way. I don't think it'll be the player's purpose to turn into the resistance's new killing machine. The game has put too much focus on the tragedy of this conflict; on how both sides are suffering losses over the whole thing, and I believe that in a way, the player is special exactly because they're not one to solve problems by killing. I can imagine that at some point, we might have to (or accidentally do so), but overall, to me it feels like a role we don't fit in.
  2. shivers On one hand I really don't want to have to kill anybody, not even Fern. On the other, it would add a completely new depth to the game if we, the player, were to kill someone, whether by accident or not. It's not implausible for Reborn. And when I think back to the fact that we basically did have the choice to tell Blake that we'd rather sacrifice Heather than to give him the ring... Please don't hurt my fragile little heart; I'm Neutral Good aligned for a reason ;_;
  3. ^What he is really trying to say is that we are always welcome in his shed =) Welcome to the madhouse. I'd say something about the sounds of welcoming fanfares, but I'm not responsible for the music here, and stealing other people's jobs is not very nice. And I got ninja'd anyway I'm just here to let you know that we at Team Meteor are always looking for fresh talents to help us build a New World™. For further information and the contract, please turn to our Administrators. That said, sanity is overrated, and you're welcome to throw what remains of yours away. Hope you'll enjoy your stay~
  4. Welcome to the madhouse~ Want a Ghost/Fighting type, you say? See... As you might know, Team Meteor vows to create a better world. Now, I'm not implying that you could work for us and have your wish fulfilled in the New World, except that perhaps I am. Joining us has no known downsides*, so what are you waiting for? Get your Ghost/Fighting Mega Mismagius tod- well ok, probably not today. But eventually. Good luck with Shade, by the way. I hate his Rotom with a passion. Well, not only his, but, y'know. (*Trying to leave, on the other hand...)
  5. ^Well, neither are Cain and Aya, though it's definitely getting better. I was curious if they were all gonna be sorted in with their families. ...Then again, Cain and Aya did canonically live together until Cain ran away, whereas Amaria and Titania lived alone.
  6. Is it just me, or is he looking a little bit lady-like? Something about his eyes and lips. Wanna touch dat hair, though. Is he gonna live with Cain and Aya, or Titania and Amaria? Or who lives with who now?
  7. At least Aster did tell us we'd be seeing him around, so it appears he's willing to help us without any further persuasion. With Simon, I do think he'd be willing to tell us a thing or two if we manage to give him something related to Tara, but is it really already the time? I doubt it'll take long now, since we did finally obtain Dive, but idk, it just feels to me as if it's got no place in the next Episode. Kinda makes me wonder, though: Sirius says that "Turncoats won't be forgiven", so what do the Meteors do when somebody tries to leave their ranks? Eclipse had her soul exterminated, so wouldn't it be logical for them to want to, uh, silence people like Simon or Aster, one way or the other? It seems awfully impractical to have people with possible insider knowledge run around and helping out enemies. (Well, Aster, anyway. Simon didn't yet.)
  8. Gotta agree with Gaunt, I don't think we're gonna be allowed to dive into Tanzan Lake quite yet. Not that I don't wanna, because Simon! </333, but it just doesn't sound like something we're supposed to do just yet. Or at least I don't see why we would be taking a detour to Tanzan Cove when we're trying to get from the Agate area to the City.
  9. Mixing up a type advantage because I "checked" by looking at offense instead of defense is most definitely not my proudest moment today. My friend is laughing at me.

  10. I can't describe how ridiculously confused I feel now. At first I was triumphant because I was like "HA, Steel will wreck this shit", then I started doubting if I remembered the type advantages correctly (I doubt my memory a lot) and went to look it up, then apparently misread the type table for the opposite and got weirded out. tl;dr regular Steel user second-guessed her knowledge and suffered an amazing moment of stupidity when checking things. Maybe I should just have listened to my brain the first time and I could have avoided spilling all these spaghetti. I don't even know WHY I doubted myself here ;_; That said, good to know that the Mist field will work out. I would have been willing to sacrifice 50% of Mamoswine's HP, but not having to do so is even better.
  11. Will those moves terminate the field, though? I use the Mamoswine + Mist trick often enough, but will it always work? Haven't worked much with those moves before I started playing Reborn, so if the answer is obvious, apologies. I'm quite happy about that never-miss 2x damage Mirror Shot, since it somewhat makes up for the fact that Steel isn't effective against Ice.
  12. At the cost of 50% of your (and your opponents') Pokemon's HP tho. ...Which, for the record, I think is really cool, because we actually get punished for destroying the field, and it makes sense, considering it's mirrors, and shattering mirrors is a mess. Still, personally I would rather sacrifice one of my Pokemon to break this thing, than to fight a whole battle on it, me thinks.
  13. I didn't even notice that the Mudkip got axed D: Man I'm glad I already got it, because I regretted not choosing it as my starter SO much. >tfw still no Skarmory I must show patience. Really happy about Lapras though.
  14. I like this. I like this a LOT. Oh shiiiiiiet. On the other hand, if Mamoswine gets an evasion boost thanks to Snow Cloak and then terminated the field with Earthquake, it might be worth it. The thing has so much HP... This field looks so darn interesting, really can't wait to try fighting on it. Honestly, I think this is my favourite of the new ones, it's darn creative <3 EDIT: And holy shit, so we can have Larvesta and Sneasel now? Dayum.
  15. You could always try to use a darker shade of the base colour. That's usually an easy way to create a matching colour palette. And as for the green - personally I like it the way it is, so I'd just suggest colouring the blue part in the same colour or a darker shade. EDIT: Unrelated to that, I've been playing around with Archeops a bit. I like the idea of sun colours that's listed in the OP, but... eh, idk. I feel like it would be a waste to just leave those yellow feathers completely yellow, but I'm not competent enough to create a nice, smooth transition between colours, like it's seen on, for example, Reborn's shiny Steelix and Rapidash. (And wow does the dark post background make the wings look pixellated at the parts where there's black lines. Makes me want to just colour those yellow as well.)
  16. The idea for the Klink line is neat, but maybe you could replace the gray areas (face, back) with a different colour (something to fit with the copper-like theme)? The shade of gray doesn't match the red tone all that well (imo), perhaps a more rusty colour would work out better?
  17. Annnnd Alilatias officially put me in awe of the Murkwater field, but mostly because that break down made me realize how much fun I am probably gonna have with it, considering my love for using Steel types. I mean, I just so happen to be training up a whole bunch of them while waiting for the episode. Maybe they'll be even more useful than I thought.
  18. chants Meteor Sims, Meteor Sims~ YES PLEASE That Fern actually looks great. And poor Julia, but I guess I can understand her, who wouldn't fall for Amaria? Titania even quite literally fell for her.
  19. Ah, something else that comes to my mind for animal-centered books: the Farthing Wood series by Colin Dann. There's an animated series of it, too (grew up with it and love it! <3), but the books are great, I've read them over and over. It's seven books, starting with The Animals of Farthing Wood.
  20. Hmm. If you like Warriors and don't mind books that are geared towards, well, that kind of age group, maybe you could give Varjak Paw a try, for all your fighting kitty needs. Other than that, have you read the Kyralia/Sonea series by Trudi Canavan (The Magicians' Guild, The Novice, etc.)? That'd be two trilogies (with the second being a sequel to the first), and a prequel (The Magician's Apprentice) that is set some hundred years before. I love it a lot because I'm a sucker for stories with magic, but the story's cool. The second trilogy especially was really neat. Magic, thieves, gray morality, problems with corrupt governments, classism, sexism, it's got it all.
  21. By the way, I know next to nothing about what can and cannot be done in the Sims games, but Cain, Aya and Hardy totally need to start up that band they were talking about.
  22. Aya's face in the last screenshot is perfect. She is perfect. Period. But yeah, seconding the request for Hardy. Get Aya laid :'D Or let her throw more drinks ar Cain's partners, that's fun, too. Obviously she doesn't approve of any of this happening insider her house.

If we were discussing a canon game, then I wouldn't take other media into consideration, true. But since Reborn is a fangame, I'm more inclined to do it. Arceus is important to the storyline here, whereas it gets nowhere near as much attention in the canon games, so it seems possible to me that ideas could be taken from sources outside the game series. As for Team Meteor's goals, the only thing that we've really been told is that they apparently want to "make Reborn pure again" and create a "new world". I think a huge part of the vagueness can be traced back to the leadership takeover by Lin; think about what Eclipse said when you meet her for the last time: The way she says it, it kinda makes me think that destroying the world as we know it was not the original objective, since in that scenario, it would make no difference whether people get killed or merely driven out of the city. I don't know what exactly the plans for Reborn City were when she references "cleansing" it, but if it is true that Team Meteor originally wanted people to leave the city rather than outright killing them, it makes me wonder if the "new world" deal was meant to be literal. It sounds more like "hey let's use the power of this Meteor/Arceus/whatever to give the region a makeover". Simon, on the other hand, tells us this: And Tara said this: Which sounds a lot more like "so, remember Cyrus' idea? Yeah, let's do that. Let's end the world and make a new one." Now, Eclipse told us about Team Meteor's plans under Solaris' leadership, whereas Simon was convinced by Sirius to join. We don't know at what point any of them joined the Team (that is, if Simon and Tara joined before or after Lin's takeover), but I think there's two possibilities: - Team Meteor's objectives have shifted when Lin took over - The Meteor leaders have been lying to people about their true intentions to gain more followers I'm more inclined to believe that it's the former, because if everyone had been given different promises when they joined, shouldn't that have become obvious eventually?

That was kinda what I was joking about. I'm not sure how likely it'd be for the actual game (can you imagine having to defeat 18 Arceus? Dear lord.), but I couldn't help but think about it thanks to the whole "son of (a) god" implication that it'd have if someone were to clone Arceus. While on the topic of the plates, though: wen I think back to Arceus and the Jewel of Life, then the implication is that the lack of Plates makes Arceus weaker, since it loses its ability to change into the corresponding type, and that was, overall, an important plot point of the film. If Reborn is really the place where Arceus has "fallen to Earth", could it be possible that is in a weakened state where it doesn't have its full power? I honestly can't imagine any other way that anyone would think they could assert even the tiniest amount of control over it. I mean, we're just talking about, uh... the Pokemon that created the entire universe, yeah. That one.
  25. I could see this happening. It wouldn't be the first time that someone tries to stop us from battling a gym leader hi Victoria!, and Titania seems like a decent enough person to at least give us a chance at earning a badge at the same time. On the other hand, though, I feel like we are likely to face Hardy before Titania. Which would mean that we probably won't get to challenge her until Agate has been saved.
