Shiny Metagross is so pretty, I just have to get it~

My last attempt was pretty decent, though I sure wish I hadn't wasted all my Dusk Balls on other pokemon before, heh.

  2. Amaria's hairstyle reminds me of the one I had at my sister's wedding, except she's definitely got the nicer colour. Now let me join the hunt for that Titania booty. So, am I the only one who's wondering how much fun could be gotten out of creating Radomus and let him have ALL THE OUTFITS? And a Terra sim would probably make the most sense out of all of them, considering nobody ever has an idea what the hell she's even doing. Let's face it, she'd enjoy all the inevitable drama.

Besides what Foamy said, I think it's also an issue of the Cult believing that since they are righteous and good, they can use everyone else however they want. They believe deeply that they are doing the correct thing, so as a consequence, everything they do to achieve their goals is also correct by the virtue of their intentions. It's "the end justifies the means" all over again. I'm getting slight Jesus vibes from this whole clone idea. But think of how many children Zeus had. THAT would be far more terrifying.
  4. I'm having an eye on this thread. Can't wait to see what they'll be up to once you set them loose on the world. Sooo... any plans for Cal and Blake yet? Florinia is prettyyyy <3
  5. "Mildly crazy", huh? Oh well, just a minor flaw that shall be corrected quickly. Your sanity shall drop faster than a dead bird from the sky. I do have a question though: Wat kind of stuff do you read? If you could suggest one book as a "must read", which would that be? This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I ran out of things to read, nope. Oh, also, most importantly: Welcome~
  6. Have you considered replacing one of your two Flying types with a pokemon like Swanna? A Ducklett egg is obtainable very early in the game (Obsidia Park), and it's a pretty decent Pokemon for what you need against Kiki. It can learn Tailwind at level 40 to help your slower Pokemon out, as well as Aerial Ace for a reliable Flying move that won't stir up the field, and Aqua Ring or Roost as recovery moves. If you feel up to it, you can also overlevel it to 47 so it learns Brave Bird (!), and then feed it common candies to get it back to an obedient level. It can also have the Keen Eye ability, which would take care of the accuracy problem that the Field Effect tries to create.

Not so sure how crazy this part of the game was, since the original RB diary entries talk about Mew and Mewtwo... please don't actually let anyone be insane enough to try to clone Arceus.

  9. Pfft, the only lie related to cake here is that it exists and SHIA's just trying to hoard it all for themselves. I mean, I don't actually have proof, and neither have I seen the cake, but it's gotta be there... somewhere... Anyway, welcome to the madness. Have a hello, from one (pretending-not-to-be-)shy newb to another~ You and I should team up in the kitchen one day; maybe if we both fail at cooking decently, two wrongs will make a right. That's... that's how it works, isn't it? ...No? Bummer. But see, if there isn't a cake, then the solution should be to bake it. Even if it means setting the kitchen on fire. I'm sure nobody will actually mind.

Well, keep in mind that Zero forced Eve to turn what was basically meant to be a superpowered healing machine into a weapon of mass destruction by threatening to kill the person whose life she was desperately trying to save with it. And now the sisters are permanently stuck in his body. With him. Just think of all the times in the game where Zero reprimands Lumi/treats her harshly. We don't know how old she is, but she's got about as much confidence in herself as Shelly. She can't stand up for herself, at least we have never seen her do so up until now. (Whereas Shelly is finally starting to.) It can't be pleasant to have to share a mind with someone who treats you this badly. Again, he threatened to kill her before. Don't get me wrong, ZEL could be absolute badasses if they were to actually work together properly. But considering the circumstances of how they got into the situation in the first place, it's understandable why they don't get along.

It's Sirius who tried to save us from Lin. Too bad he didn't think of giving us a fake name, though. Honestly, Sirius. With all the shit we've done, Lin probably heard our name before. Pretty sure everyone in Team Meteor did. I mean, sure, she would have smelled the bullshit anyway, but that was really no smart move of him. Solaris, on the other hand, is the guy who actually did try to kill us. Y'know, the one Amaria saved us from. And while we got a backstory for Eve and Lumi, we didn't get anything about Zero yet, so we're not quite done learning ZEL's story.

I guess the story of how Team Meteor fell into Lin's hands is what we're working towards right now; Eclipse wanted to tell us something about her for a reason, and I also believe that it's why Sigmund is still sticking to the Meteors. He's already made it clear that he's not interested in profiting from their goals/successes, and instead said something about making observations. Considering he appears to remember something about Lin (as evident by his comments during the Tanzan arc), he's likely trying to work out who she is. Also, I'd really love to see some degree of internal splitting of Team Meteor over who to be loyal to. If Eclipse is any example, then there must be a couple Meteors at least who do not want Lin as their leader, whereas others (like Sirius) appear to support her fully. Blake and Fern can both burn in a fire as far as I care There MUST be a hidden message in them both being weak to it.
  16. Ay, first of all, have a piece of cake and a hello~ Figuring out your gender can be a tricky thing; took me 18 years to finally figure mine out. May I ask what you mean by "phantom phenomena"? I'm a bigender person right here, and I'm not quite sure what you mean, or why it'd mean you cannot identify as any of the listed identities. But that aside - if genderfluid is what you feel describes you the best, and thus what you're most comfortable using, power to you! Congrats on having it figured out. I'm sure you won't be facing any acceptance problems here on Reborn; seems like a nice place to first come out on. Doing the same thing IRL tends to prove a lot more trickier, because even among people who would generally be accepting, there's just so many who don't understand the term genderfluid (though explaining it can fix it), and, of course, those who don't believe it's a thing. Personally I'm not even out as genderqueer offline except to two friends, because I know it'll just end in endless repeats of "ok but prove that bigender is real". If you're planning to come out IRL, I'd salute you for having the guts. It's a huge step. But see, let's just go back to that cake for now and be proud of you for having gotten this far~

This so much. I don't think Arceus would be too happy about a bunch of people who forced a whole region into misery having the audacity to wake up a god and tell it to build them a new world. You don't stomp on someone elses sand castle and tell them to build a prettier one for you.

    Team Meteor

Ah, 'tis the thread for me. I freaking love Team Meteor. Not for their actions, of course, and certainly wouldn't if they were real, but as a concept and as game characters? Holy shit, I love them. First of all they actually DO things. They're threatening. You start the game by almost getting blown up right along everybody else when they bomb a train station. Then you have to help prevent them from doing the same to a power station/gym. Then you watch the Obsidia ward almost getting taken over by plants, just to find out that Team Meteor's behind that, and you fight that monstrous Tangrowth. Find out about the PULSE project. Eventually learn that Team Meter literally caused Reborn's downfall. You see them KILL people, find out they want to play god and reset the world. Nice. But the characters. It already starts out with the Grunts, who are all named so you can recognize them. Then you've got the various stories revolving around some of them (Simon, Tara, Aster, Eclipse), giving you examples as to why they joined, what the average person's ambitions were or are, and what happened to eventually make them come to their senses. I personally loved Simon's arc because he wasn't simply a guy who realized "oops, what we do is bad", but that the entire premise of a "perfect, beautiful world" is downright impossible. There's so many things that cannot work out, and for him, it was reuniting with Lyssa and Tara. Eclipse was lovely because we see her go from supporting Team Meteor to realizing that no, the end doesn't justify the means. The means might even destroy the possibilities of the desired end. And Aster follows after a brutal wake-up slap, understanding that change is a possibility even without resorting to, uh, higher extremes. And now don't get me started on how curious I am to find out backgrounds to all the Admins/Higher-ups. Solaris intrigues me and has done so from day one on. He's apparently not as bad as Lin, from what is being implied, but we do see that he can kill people just fine. He's got a questionable morality, to put it nicely, but talking to him is interesting. Taka is a nice guy. Can't help but want to know more about his family background, considering Solaris seems to be his daddy. And the possibility that he doesn't actually want to be a Meteor and only ended up in there because of Solaris is interesting as well. I could imagine him abandoning them. Though, of course, we should really get to see him more often. It's been so long... Currently cannot stand Sirius at all. All we've learned about him just makes him seem like more and more of a monster, and I really don't thin I can forgive him for what he did to Eclipse or how he treats Aya. Or the whole thing with Corey. Still, backstory pls. Plus, he's got a cool character design. Don't know enough about Lin yet to judge her. Except that Cain should have a talk to her about her hair and bad life choices. Now, don't get me started on ZEL. Probably no secret how much I adore these characters. They were my insta-fave from the moment on where they first appear in the game, and everything that followed just made them better. Their concept, their character design, the way we gradually get to know them - and then the backstory killed me. I get very emotional about stories, especially things that concern characters I've grown attached to. And oh my, have I ever. Lumi is an absolute cutie; man did I have trouble keeping a straight face during the Abra arc because sh was just so impossibly nice, and the whole "Good luck" slip-up was perfect. Free her. Eve is a badass. Eve is too damn smart. And she's amazing. There was no way for me to learn about her background and not love her to pieces, because the sheer lengths to which she has gone to protect the one remaining thing that is dear to her... We haven't really gotten an explanation for how Zero ended up in the team, or what his ambitions are, but I hope we do. He may be an ass, but he amuses me with his overly serious attitude in contrast to Lumi being... well, Lumi. ...I should stop myself before I go into wall of text mode. Point is, Reborn has amazing characters, and it's not limited to the player character's side and the villain boss. The fact that we get stories and backgrounds for all kinds of characters makes the game feel much more realistic and paints a bigger picture. The whole thing about several Meteors gradually losing their faith in the organization is great as well. Character development pls. tl;dr the Meteors are everything I could have wished for in terms of a villainous team.
  20. Day 255: Amplified Magikarp's powers to the max. Test subject Bounced into planetary orbit. Fighting Arceus in this field as an eventual final boss would be pretty neat though. Can very well imagine the Pokégod deciding to give the player a final test. Guess it'd feel quite disgruntled to get woken up by a bunch of people quarreling over whether or not to initiate the apocalypse.
  21. Pretty sure the level cap is 70 before you beat Charlotte. I remember overlevelling my Klinklang while I raised my Staraptor; it was at 75 in the end and wouldn't obey me.
  22. Something that just came to my mind is that it can be justified in-game in the sense that the grunts wouldn't want to have their names/identities revealed, since they have a life outside their criminal activities and don't want their reputation ruined? That'd make some sense, actually. Even though, personally, I'd still prefer names. I mean, the trainers get them... (and yes, it was necessary as soon as the Phone number/Re-match business was introduced, I know.)
  23. Galactic and Flare combined kinda do remind me of Meteor, to be honest. Galactic was all about destroying the world as we know it so Cyrus could play god and try to create one to his liking, whereas Flare was about cleansing the world and restoring it to beauty again. What always bothers me a bit is that we usually get a good picture of what the Bosses are like, but as far as Administrators/similar are concerned, a lot of potential gets lost. I don't remember anything interesting about most of them other than that I could tell them apart. Not as bad as the grunts, though. Even something as simple as giving them names already adds a little bit: I mostly noticed this in Reborn, how the mere fact that all the Meteors have names makes the team feel more lively to me, because suddenly I'm able to start associating their dialogues with them as individuals, which makes them a lot more human. With Team Flare especially it bugged me, because it was implied that there aren't THAT many of them, considering it was expensive as hell to even join them. Perfect opportunity to give more personality to the existing ones.
  24. For me, the difficulty about Charlotte was mostly that her team was overall pretty fast. That, and Typhlosion. I failed my first try, so on my second, I sent out Noivern for Tailwind to take care of the Speed problem, then tried to take down Typhlosion as fast as I could. Don't really remember everything about the battle, but it ended with Noivern and Arcanine on the field. Tried to take some advantage of the field with a Fire pokemon of my own. Since most of the team I took in there was set up to hit hard (Mamoswine, Staraptor, Arcanine, Espeon), and Samurott was at least a better choice than Klinklang, making sure that I hit first was a huge part. Mamoswine, Arcanine and Samurott were well capable of taking hits, so I paired them up with Pokemon who couldn't in the hopes of giving those a higher chance at survival. Not exactly a very stylish way to fight, but hey - if it works, it works.

I'm gonna assume that you will have to wait until a later episode. I can't get in there yet either, and a friend I talked to cannot either.
