  1. I prefer to get along with people, because when people hate you it tends to come with the unfortunate chance that they might resort to doing nasty things to make your life harder. Can't really avoid antagonising some people when you go through life, but I'd like to keep the number small.
  2. Volcarona is pretty cool, man. For me, it's gotta be these: Gigalith and Gastrodon are so gorgeous. I find the Shellos line to be among the most creative shinies in the game, and I'm a big fan of how Muk, Tangrowth etc. have their PULSE colours. (Still need to evolve the Grimer, but it's the last one I caught, so I haven't trained it yet.
  3. The red-gray thing is Meteor's symbol. I remember being shown a graphic of it but it's been a while and Skype isn't being helpful in finding it again :c Give Meteor-themed things \o/ That said, I would probably miss the gray-yellow border above.
  4. Added a bit about the whole "choice" part, since I kinda completely omitted that factor when I submitted my original post. But to cut down on the tl;dr a bit - I see Eve as acting on a mixture of her loyalty to Lumi, and due to not having any alternatives. ZEL don't get to choose their allegiance. They're forced to work for meteor because nobody can replace Eve, and I see Eve as trying to make the best out of the situation. That said, I am very prone to viewing these characters through... well, not rose-tinted lenses, but they're my favourites and re-reading my post I feel like I didn't manage to properly separate interpretation and wishful thinking. Will edit and fix it up a bit. Edit2: done. This should be more coherent now.
  5. [mysteriously poofs into existence upon mention of ZEL] Eve is, by the tiniest margin, my favourite of the three, even though it is a REALLY difficult decision since they're all amazing. She's intelligent, innovative and devoted. "Evil" is very subjective. I think it's pretty complicated to apply a term like that to Eve. After all that she and Lumi went through, after that long trauma conga line, she is simply focusing on one goal, and one goal only: she wants to protect Lumi. That's what her actions boil down to the way I see it. She's got nothing else worth fighting for any more. She appears unemotional, but that's more likely a result of her not allowing herself to feel emotion about things that aren't directly related to her goals. I'd guess she forbids herself to care about anyone who isn't Lumi. First of all, there's the matter of how it would be damn hard for them to stop working for Meteor/escape. Consider this: no Eve, no PULSE. Meteor needs her. She can't just pack up and leave without having Meteor hunt them down. They'd probably be caught and forced right back into work, but we know very well that Meteor's leadership has no problem annihilating anyone who cannot be made to comply. Eve would not risk their collective lives like this. To disobey means putting herself and Lumi at grave danger, and she sure does not want that. So keep that in mind as well. They're not low-tier grunts like Simon, or disposable like Eclipse or Aster (and we don't even know if he's being hunted or not). They have much less room for a choice. They could choose to attempt an escape, but with being so important to Meteor, their chances are terribly bad. There's a reason Zero was sent to blackmail Eve into working for them. They never meant for her to have a choice, and this is no different in the present. Now, since "no" is not an option, what can Eve do? She has to do what Meteor wants, but she might as well make the best of it. If the "new world" is what Team meteor is aiming for, why not try to have a slice of that cake? If it's really possible for a perfect new life to be created, wouldn't that be a viable solution to ZEL's problem? They could get their bodies back! Lumi would be healthy! They could maybe even get their parents back. There's nothing more important to Eve than Lumi, that much has been shown through the diary scene. Eve "worked herself to the bone" and neglected her own health in order to find a way to cure Lumi. I mean, hell, we're talking about the person who invented a machine that mega-evolves Pokémon! (Albeit in a very twisted way and not like real mega evoluion, that much is true.) Why? Because she was desperate to save her sister. Eve could go "fuck this, terrorism isn't worth it, this is immoral". She could try to refuse to work for Meteor. Who knows if they'd torture, manipulate or kill her. But she doesn't. And perhaps she's a bit selfish in her endeavor, because if you look back at what the diary says, there's this: After several lines of Lumi agonizing over how scared she is of death, and how she cannot bear the thought of dying so young, she would still rather die than be a burden to her sister. We also repeatedly hear Lumi mention that she is sorry for everything that ZEL are doing, especially regarding the PULSE-mons. She apologizes to Tangrowth, to Abra, to the player, she's all-around unhappy with having to let these things happen. But Eve doesn't seem to consider this properly. She loves her sister, that much is obvious, but she's so hell-bent on saving her that she appears to ignore how Lumi actually feels about this. Lumi has made this choice before - rather die than be a burden. I can't see her believe that her own life would be worth more than all of Reborn. True, we could argue now that there's also Zero to keep in mind, but I honestly don't think that his willpower matches that of Eve, and judging from the dialogue in the game, it is Eve who makes the decisions. We only ever see Zero attempting to get on her level, but she continually puts him back in his place in every instance where they disagree. I believe that if Eve and Lumi decided to abandon Meteor, Zero could not stop them. So why are they still with Meteor? Eve. She may be far more intelligent than the average person, but this doesn't make her wise. She's still presumably a young adult, someone who hasn't yet lived long enough to have accumulated lots of experience. Smart or not, she still falls prey to the same kinds of promises that lured in other Meteor characters - she is not so different from characters like Simon, tricked into believing he could be reunited with the loved one he lost. Not so different from Aster, who had nothing and believed that Meteor could give him everything he wanted. Maybe also not so different from Tara, who believed that the end would justify the means, and that all the current suffering could be undone and forgotten once Meteor achieves their goals. Eve is young, and she is trying to protect the only thing in the world she still cares about - Lumi. Not every person is a noble hero who can put their own wishes and desires behind them to serve the greater good. It would be harsh to call Eve "evil" when she represents someone who has so much love for one person that the importance of everyone else pales in comparison. It makes her unreasonable, yes, but do remember the saying: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." We don't know how she feels about what she is doing. She hasn't shown us anything about it yet. We've neither heard her praise nor condemn her actions so far. Zero gave us some boasting lines about the power of the PULSE, and we've got Lumi lamenting the pain and destruction it causes. But Eve? Distant and factual. I'm reserving my judgment over whether or not she has "evil" tendencies until we find out how she feels about things. For all we know, she feels terrible about this. But at the end of the day, she's faced with a situation from which there is no escape. Not alive, anyway.
  6. Consider this a desperate request from me: if you see me on showdown at any point past the next two hours, tell me to go to sleep. I need to get up at 4am.

  7. Hah, I have that gif there in my sig for a reason :'3 Klinklang is easily my favourite of the inanimate object 'mons - what with being my second favourite Pokémon overall! I adore its design, it's a nice idea and looks very much badass. And c'mon, Klink is adorable~ And oh do I love the ones I used in my playthroughs. Wish it could have Levitate, though. Or at least Magnet Rise. But I'm not holding my breath here. Gigalith is my fave rock type and also makes it into my list of favourite Pokémon of all time. I remember BW coming out and me being like "HOLY SHIT OK I NEED THIS" upon seeing Gigalith for the first time. Klefki is very lovely. I dunno, I find the idea of a sentient key ring pretty cute, and it can be such a nuisance in battle c: But really, I love a LOT of those 'mons. Bronzong, Chandelure, Trubbish are all great designs IMO. I never really counted Porygon as an inanimate object 'mon, but love it as well. Should be BIRD type.
  8. The thing is, you're not wrong in noting that it's very likely that the people who voted for the first two options are going to want /kick to stay. But by lumping these options together with the "remove /kick" one, the poll prevents all the no voters from deciding on a preference for those options. To use myself as an example (as I can't speak for anyone else) - I voted to remove /kick, but if the command gets to stay, I want it to be restricted to @ and higher. Due to having voted "no", however, I now do not get a say in the other matter. I'm fairly sure that I'm not the only one among the "no" voters who would have liked to be able to.
  9. It would make way more sense, as Jericho hinted at, to split the question. Wh y not ask first if we want /kick to stay or not, and then follow it up by "if it stays, who should be able to use it"? I was not aware that they would be counted together like this, and even though it does not affect my vote (as I voted for removal) it might affect those who made a decision between the other two. edit: screw that w ynaut emote
  10. [23:43:02] Mal-ama-r: someone sponsor them a tablet pls [23:43:06] Mal-ama-r: i'll send mine seems this art evokes the same reactions in all of us :'3 Gorgeous as always, and honestly, impressive! Also, SHELLY <33
  11. I frequent 4chan and have done so for years. Board that I used in the past or still use include, but aren't limited to /v/, /vp/, /vg, /mlp/ and /lit/. And from my experiences, people who either don't browse the site, or only ever took a quick look, tend to have a limited understanding of how the site works. As a note: when I use the word "community" in context of 4chan, I'm using it in a loose sense. 4chan doesn't have the same sense of community as, say, Reborn does. Yet the fact that the site has many, many regulars and a distinct "culture" of its own (even varying by board) means that, yes, it can be called a community. 4chan has a reputation on the internet. Namely, a reputation for being a horrible, vile, terrifying place. So often, when people tell me about "checking the site out", they tend to be almost disappointed by how underwhelming it is. And it probably is, because reputations tend to be exaggerated over times, and in the light of all the terrible stories people have heard over 4chan, and the site's total record of... well, yeah, pretty awful things that happened, just spending a day there will leave you thinking "really? That's it?" The "Internet Hate Machine" recently turned 12 years old. 12 years is a lot of time to accumulate a history of assholery and horrifying acts. 12 years is also a lot of completely ordinary days where nothing overly exciting happens. Now... the site is well-known for it's rude userbase. And again, if you just take a quick look, of course you're just gonna see a bunch of people anonymously spouting insults and being generally really mean to each other. But see, if you frequent this site for a long time, all those insults are just gonna bounce off you. People are rude by default, everyone can be categorized into a different variation of the f-word, and... that's just how people there communicate on a basic level. 4chan has a default tone, catchphrases and buzzwords, just like most communities do. For those here who frequent tumblr - let's be honest, do you still take terms such as "gross", "trash" and "important" serious? I for sure don't. Why? Because they're everywhere. It's what people throw around a lot, and the more you hear of it, the less it impresses you. 4chan is the same there. It uses different terms, and overall, the language is much more crude, but fact remains that to regular visitors, it isn't actually offensive any more, nor is it shocking. And you generally develop a pretty good sense of when someone is actually trying to insult you, or when they're just flinging around insults because that's how people talk to each other on there. Once you get past that point, and can accept the rude tone as the basic attitude people have towards each other, 4chan can actually be very interesting. Anonymity brings out honesty in people. When your words and actions aren't being tied to a name, a set profile of you, people tend to be more open about their experiences, their opinions. They're willing to discuss things that they might not talk about the same way on, say, Facebook. It brings out the best and the worst, but personally, I find it very fascinating to read. Because sometimes, people are more real when they're anonymous. As for 4chan's actions (raids, activism etc), it's important to keep in mind that we're talking about a website that is visited by an enormous number of people. And they don't all share the same ideas, they're not a hivemind. If "4chan" raids a website, that's not the whole website or even one whole board collectively deciding to do it. That's a fraction of people doing it. And the next time something happens under the name of 4chan, it'll probably be a different group. The site is merely the platform for those people to gather like-minded individuals and call them to action. Imagine it like people rallying on a town square. One day it'll be a religious group, the next you'll have the farmers, and maybe on Tuesday it's teachers. They just all use the same place to gather. And 4chan's overall climate -anonymity, loose rules, high tolerance for different inds of content- makes it easy for people to do that. People don't feel obliged to be polite to each other, but that doesn't mean it is impossible to have valuable discussions on there. On the contrary, I've enjoyed plenty of interesting conversations, and with people from so many different walks of life coming together, there's actually a lot of diversity, exactly because there's no consens on what is the "right" or "wrong" opinion to hold. This kind of environment sure isn't for everyone, and that's understandable. Personally, I like it. Also, concerning people using 4chan as a means to announce/plan/confess to crimes such as shootings - this stuff IS reported to law enforcement. Both users and staff do take action in cases like these. It's not a safe space for shooters to share their plans without repercussions.
  12. What Wes said here. Of course, if you hang around the server for a while you'll figure out that /kick is just something that's done for fun. Or maybe you know this from prior experiences on other websites. But there's always the possibility of someone coming onto the server and NOT being aware that /kick is just a silly fun thing. There's more than enough chat servers out there which DO use /kick to discipline, or where immediately rejoining after a kick is not possible. In which case a person would probably be more intimidated by the idea than amused - or at the very least, confused about whether or not it's purely a joke command, or if it's sometimes this and sometimes that. I also feel like actually having a kick function isn't required for the joke to be funny. I've seen plenty of times, both here and on other websites, that people just go and purposely mistype the command (such as "/.kick"). That way, nobody actually gets kicked, but it's still obvious that someone wanted to make a joke about kicking said person. And that can make a difference in terms of how the "affected" person feels. Last but not least, knowing that it's a joke doesn't necessarily mean that the person who receives the kick can't have ill feelings about it. tl;dr There is no need for a working /kick command to be able to make jokes about kicking someone.
  13. I heard about Reborn from my Ex. And when he first started talking about it, I didn't think I'd like to play the game, because he made it sound like it was more leaning towards shock value/tryhard dark'n'edgy, and more focussed on horror than actual story. I don't remember what exactly did make me ask for the link in the end, but at some point I simply decided I'd try it. Maybe because hey, I love Pokémon, but I'd played all the canon games so often that they weren't as exciting any more. So when I actually played the game, I was completely taken by surprise about how well-done the story is and how challenging things got. The game got me hooked before I even got my first badge, and all I can say is that I really, really didn't expect that. Like OP, I feel great attachment to the 'mons of my first playthrough. While I did not keep my "original six" throughout the entire game, I did often cling to early Pokémon for a very long time. I didn't box my Noctowl until Charlotte, when I could finally pick up my favourite -available- Flying type, Staraptor. The one that I easily feel the most attachment to is my Klinklang. Sure, I can get better Steel types. Heck, I do have Metagross. But I love Klinklang and I especially love this Klinklang. Part of what I like about Reborn's difficulty is that yeah, sure, I can go full strategy and rotate my team to have the best chances against every boss, but to this day I've also always found a way to somehow defeat my opponent with the team I want to have.
  14. Pretty much every dragon type with the exceptions of Altaria and Flygon. I've never really cared for dragons to begin with, whether it was Dragonite or Salamence or Garchomp or Hydreigon or... you name it. I don't like most of them design-wise (though Goodra is pretty cute), and I'm not really sold on types that are weak against themselves. Aaaaand I suppose I may have a grudge against dragons for being 5 of the 7 Pseudos. Gen II is the only Gen that didn't give us a dragon Pseudo. Dunno; it just bugs me. Rayquaza seems to be a lot of people's favourite when it comes to legendaries. I just never liked it. The design doesn't appeal to me at all. Neither does Groudon, and I am indifferent towards Kyogre. The Gen III legendaries in general don't seem to be my cup of tea. Blaziken. This one is mostly because when Gen III came out I was so fond of this adorable little fire chicken, and I wanted to pick it as my starter and ohmygosh it's so cute... and then it evolved into... well... that thing. Torchic, why. Fighting is also my least favourite type, so there's that.
  15. You can find them before facing the boss battle. In fact, doing so will earn you a bit of extra story!
  16. So who goes upstairs does change based on who you battle at Yureyu, because if you battle Sirius first, he is the one who goes upstairs, while Sigmund wants to check the kitchen. Interesting. Thanks for checking it! Sigmund at Yureyu -> Sirius at Mansion = Sigmund upstairs, Sirius downstairs stop Sigmund > Laura gets captured stop Sirius > twins get captured Sirius at Yureyu -> Sigmund at Mansion = Sirius upstairs, Sigmund downstairs stop Sigmund = Saphira gets captured stop Sirius = ??? Man it's really grinding my gears that I can't remember that last one. I picked that path the previous time I played through this arc. Is it possible that Charlotte and Shelly get captured here?
  17. Wait, this does bring up a question... I am quite certain that in my first playthrough, I decided to stay downstairs and protect the kitchen (because Saphira told me that Charlotte is under my protection, and Charlotte hid in the kitchen). This resulted, IIRC, in the capture of the twins. Either there's a difference in who stays downstairs and who goes upstairs based on which one you battle first, or it's a change between episodes? If it's the former, then would it be like this: Twins: Sigmund at Yureyu -> Sirius at Mansion -> stop Sirius Laura: Sigmund at Yureyu -> Sirius at Mansion -> stop Sigmund? I cannot remember for the life of me who got captured when I did Sirius -> Sigmund -> Sirius in my second run x.x
  18. The one for saphira getting captured is definitely right, because I did it today and did so by stopping Sigmund from entering the kitchen. So yes, you stay downstairs. It has Saphira threatening and eventually attacking Sigmund, and ends with Sirius' Seviper knocking her out. The mess-up for Laura/Twins is possible. I do remember that in my second run I tried to get the Saphira capture route, so I fought Sirius at Yureyu and Sigmund in the Mansion, but ended up choosing the wrong thing by stopping Sirius instead of Sigmund. Possible that this resulted in the capture of the twins. But honestly, I'm so sure that I had the twins being captured in my first playthrough? And I definitely fought Sigmund at Yureyu and Sirius at the Mansion in that one.
  19. I like the Saphira one best because of the team-up with Laura in the beginning; I much prefer having the guards being put to sleep to them being killed. Though one question does come up for me: ^Were they stupid enough to put Saphira in there without taking away her Pokémon, or does she possess some sort of superhuman strength ...Actually, no, don't answer this. I am entertained by the mental image of Saphira bursting through these metal bars, giving the guards the fright of their life.
  20. IIRC: Anna/Noel getting captured: fight Sigmund at Yureyu -> fight Sirius at Belrose Mansion -> stop Sigmund Laura getting captured: fight Sirius at Yureyu -> fight Sigmund at Belrose Mansion -> stop Sirius Saphira getting captured: fight Sirius at Yureyu -> fight Sigmund at Belrose Mansion -> stop Sigmund so the last (which I also never got so far, will try out in my Ground Mono when I get there) should be fight Sigmund at Yureyu -> fight Sirius at Belrose Mansion -> stop Sirius Edit: Please do correct me if I'm wrong. The only one I am absolutely certain about at the moment is the one for Saphira getting captured, because I did it just a couple hours ago. Edit2: Okay, so this was wrong, see everything discussed below.
  21. It's not Solaris who says that line, though, is it?Pretty sure it's Sirius. That said, I am really not sure if it's all gonna be this simple for Charlotte. Her entire identity has been built around the tragedy of what happened to her parents. A lot of the things she perceives as her life lessons have been derived from it. She grew up blaming herself over and over again, and her whole character development until the point where we meet her was heavily influenced by her guilt. She goes through this whole process of coming to terms with what happened and trying to do her best to live with it. She has been faced with the "truth" of having been responsible for the death of her parents for so long, and it's such an integral part of her character (so much, in fact, that Anna can see it), that I think it might be very difficult for her to actually accept that it was someone else's doing all along. It sounds like a happy turn of events at first - Charlotte will find out that she's not the one who killed her parents. But if you've spent to much time confronting your guilt about something like that, and then are supposed to accept that you've basically been living a lie? I can't see Charlotte going "Oh, so it was him? Let's burn him." It's more likely that she's really going to struggle with this revelation. In some cases, people completely refuse to accept the new truth.
  22. Hey now, he was only asking what the word meant, not where the quote is from. And yeah, the latter is correct in this case.^^ It's an overrated book anyway
  23. [stunned silence] I am your what now? How did that happen :'D But please don't die :c Dying is very impractical. You couldn't draw anything that way either That said, I'd be so in for Fern & Flo comics. I'm sure nobody would mind the OC; as long as it involves the Reborn charries as well, it should fit in here just fine n.n
  24. I want to steal Sirius' jacket.

    1. Etesian

      Etesian

Yeah, that's a really snazzy jacket.

    2. Lord Chespin

      Lord Chespin

I want to steal his soul and force-feed it to his Chandelure.

    3. Odybld

      Odybld

I want Solaris' coat, tbh. And his ponytail. #imgettingbald

  25. I don't think Sigmund's arc is gonna end with just him/Meteor going down or him trying to bail out. I believe he'll still play a role in connection to Lin's story, not to mention there's got to be an eventual showdown between him and Saphira at some point. Sigmund has made it clear that he doesn't care for Meteor's ideals or approve of their methods. He joined in with them because they offered to help him capture the orphans, and he said that he decided to stay because there's something he's interested in finding out. Personally, I think he might even be a help to us at some point. But he's far from a strong supporter of Team Meteor, so I don't expect their fate to be too tightly bound to his, except in relation to Lin.
