  1. Just remember you need to defeat Solaris on Mt. Pyrous (in other words the level 75 Garchomp) to get the alternate version of the Fiore Mansion raid. And I think Florinia will eventually get through to him and bring him back, as that would mirror events from the actual league where she came back as a challenger just to kick Fern's ass.
  2. At first I just kind of took Fern at face value and decided to let myself enjoy just how preposterous he was. But the alternate version of the mansion raid where he sort of breaks and ends up pouring his frustrations and insecurities out to his sister really made me appreciate his character more than I ever thought I would
  3. Both Amaria and Titania get under my skin so much, but more so Titania honestly. At least Amaria we can just chalk up as being severely mentally ill. Titania, however, is just insufferable to everyone for no goddamn reason. I give Saphira sort of a pass for being this same kind of stereotypical definitive badass character just because I understand her desperation and motivation after being exposed to Dr. Connal and his antics myself in the game, plus she isn't as insufferably aloof as Titania to begin with. So Titania is basically Saphira but with none of the reasons for me to give a shit about her, which makes it all the more grating when she rags on the player no matter what they do. There is literally no pleasing this bitch. [Unless you give her ice cream, bitches love ice cream] Pretty much everyone else is aight.
  4. After updating to the current patch in the middle of my playthrough for some reason it replaced Decidueye's Spirit Shackle with Steam Eruption and even after trying to relearn it through the move tutor it shows up as Steam Eruption in the learn list. EDIT: RIP already reported ignore this
  5. ok yeah it was a patch issue it seems I hadnt actually applied the latest patch even though I thought I had. Thanks
  6. Aight after looking through the bug list I probably did the sequence break that occurs by heading straight to Valor instead of stopping by the villa first after getting Magma Drift, as a result I still got the scene with Venam and Melia taking off but Venam doesnt appear inside the villa nor do I have any way to progress in Valor mountain. Unfortunately this time I dont have a backup that goes far back enough since I did a bunch of side quests and HM exploring in between making progress so I'm at your mercy. Heres my save file Game.rxdata
  7. Ahhh thank you friend I'm still in Blackview so good just wanted to make sure I hadnt missed where to evolve to Magnezone.
  8. Not sure if this has been answered but is there any way to evolve Magneton in the current version?
  9. My guess as to why thats the case is that most of those Pokemon you listed are pretty damn good, and part of Reborn's difficulty especially later on comes from the quality of opposing teams. Solaris' team is pretty much a BW OU Sand team lol. Idk I never found it too jarring in most cases, a lot of it also has to do with the fact that Ame keeps the leaders' ace Pokemon faithful to what the actual leaders used in the league so thats why for example Terra still has a Garchomp even though we fight Solaris right after her, and why Noel keeps Clefable even after Gen 6 made it Fairy. Good Pokemon just naturally got used a lot on NPC teams to make their teams more of a threat to the player.
  10. I distinctly remember having this thread several times over the past few years to the point where in one we even likened characters to existing Japanese seiyuu that could work for them.
  11. woah didnt even realize till now how close e17 is. Keep up the good work Ame, I'm sure none of us have to tell you but don't worry about taking your time or anything like that, most of us won't be going anywhere ^^
  12. I can't really say too much in terms of comparison since I've only completed Rejuv 's latest version on Intense so far but I tended to notice especially later that even some normal trainers WILL have Pokemon that exceed your level cap and Gym Leaders and other important NPCs will outlevel your cap by upwards of 5 levels and in some cases even more than that. It is pretty damn brutal and is meant to put you at a constant disadvantage to present a challenge beyond even the notorious "Reborn" difficulty. If you're down with that then go for it if you're already familiar with the reborn style difficulty I'd say you're probably ready for it.
  13. Honestly I don't think Incineroar is that bad from a competitive standpoint, Fire/Dark is pretty great STAB coverage and it gets access to U-turn and Cross Chop for a decent niche CB set. That's at least better than Decidueye which imo is pure trash, idk why people even use it in UU its so bad and is utterly outclassed in any role it wants to fulfill. It's really only viable due to its Z-move. Incineroar is at least an interesting alternative to Entei with access to U-turn to grab momentum on switches.
  14. IMO rankings should look more like this if I really had to put them in order 1. Corey (Gas field) good lord Ame why do you do this to us 2. Shade 3. Shelly (holy shit Ame buffed her in E16) 4. Corey (default field) 5. Blake (does he count? I mean he and Cal are former Leaders and I included Kiki and Corey so may as well) 6. Noel 7. Samson 8. Charlotte 9. Adrienn 10. Aya 11. Terra 12. Ciel 13. Kiki 14. Radomus 15. Luna 16. Cal 17. Julia 18. Flobot 19. Serra
  15. There's honestly no reason why anyone should be struggling with Charlotte considering the area right before Calcenon is a cave system crawling with high leveled Rhydon, Rhyhorn, Boldore, and Druddigon. Hell, you even get access to a Protector well before this area (Iola Valley if you really snoop around there) so it's perfectly plausible to be able to obtain a Solid Rock Rhyperior on the fly should one of your current party members be dead weight against her. If you really want to go overkill though you also have access to Kingdra (Horsea fished from Ametrine Mountain have a chance to carry the evolution item) and depending on which Gang questline you did you could have the Rain Dance TM by now to go along with it, as well as with any other Swift Swimmers that you've had access to like Seismitoad, Carracosta, and Omastar. And speaking of fossils, Archeops also runs a train over her. So yeah unless you play like shofu, aka you do zero exploring and you only have a set party of 6 that you're stubborn about using all the time and nothing else, then Charlotte is basically a freebie. Noel also isn't too tough I find since his field effect often works more in your favor than his, especially if you have a good Fire type (you've had access to several, including Pyroar, Camerupt, Arcanine, and Houndoom, not to mention the best Starter in the game Blaziken which basically 6-0s Noel). Magneton pretty much stomps most of Noel's team and invalidates imo his most dangerous two Pokemon, Swellow and Clefable. As for the rest of his mons, you've gotten access to SEVERAL good non-Starter exclusive Fighting types to deal with them and pretty early too (Pancham, MAKUHITA, Mankey, Meditite, Sawk/Throh, Croagunk, Tepig all come to mind) and chances are especially on your first run of Reborn you should have gotten one of the first three if you didn't have an appropriate starter already to deal with Florinia's Cradily, so it's pretty likely that players at this point have a Fighting type trained up and ready to go. If all else fails its not a long trip back to the Underground Railnet to catch a Klink, train it until it evolves into Klinklang and learns Shift Gear then proceed to set up on Wigglytuff and sweep his entire team with one Pokemon. Shade I find is much more consistently difficult than either of the aforementioned because a lot of the Dark types you get access to until now are either complete shite (Mightyena and Liepard) or don't get a good or appropriate Dark STAB until after Shade's level cap (looking at you Skuntank, Zoroark, Houndoom, and Pangoro). Shade also comes much earlier than the aforementioned two and is the first Gym Leader with a Pokemon with over 120 in an attacking stat, Chandelure, and having high powered STABs in that stat to go along with it. There's also the fact that Ghost is by far the best attacking type compared to all the gym types you've encountered so far and Shade has a very diverse team, making it extremely difficult to wall or tank him, including a couple of Pokemon that will most certainly outspeed your entire team. Because of this I find that Shade is among one of the, if not the most difficult Gym Leader in Reborn. Samson and Adrienn also get slept on a lot I feel like and they definitely deserve more credit for how difficult they can be.
  16. one last question, you mentioned certain Pokémon getting moved around in Hardcore compared to the base game, would Misdreavus happen to be one of them? I'm going insane trying to get to the event where you obtain it but for the life of me I can't figure out how to make the Strength boulder appear in Byxsbion Wasteland to access the Ghost Kiki event. I even managed to get Beldum and I still cannot get Misdreavus. So I'm just wondering if that's a Hardcore change meant to push Misdreavus back or if I just missed something. EDIT: Nevermind, I found out that I missed reading Kiki's tombstone and that's why the Boulder didn't appear. Disregard this comment.
  17. Just finished the CoM midrelease and just went ahead and finished the run on the lightly modded E16. I used Item Ban and honestly I loved the challenge. For the most part it feels fair and adds value to Pokemon that are self sufficient in some way (Leech Seed, Recovery, etc.) that would otherwise be outclassed by just spamming healing items. At the late stages of the game though there are some oversights with some trainers breaking the ban (El still uses Full Heals on Arceus and both Arclight and Adrienn used their usual items against me). Far prefer this challenge run over using items normally or Insanity mode which I found to be insanely unbalanced and far less enjoyable before quitting that (which to be fair you did warn was untested). I also did every available alternate gym battle and thought those were great too (as well as terrifying at times). I also fell in love with some of the other changes to a couple of the major battles, such as making Solaris on Pyrous Mountain an actual 6v6 battle rather than the usual scrambling to find a way to cheese the Garchomp. To me those were the main strengths of this mod, tbh I didn't find myself too invested in the extra events and characters (though I think I did find one of the secret battles with the "Meteor Grunt" and his level 70+ Sand team that I struggled through with my 65 hard capped team), and while I didn't use the Party system too much I do think it's a fun feature. Speaking of the hard cap, it's almost an essential feature for this mod given how much easier it is to overlevel your mons due to the roster changes and higher opponent levels in general, and it takes significant pressure off of training new Pokemon since you can just grind up to the level cap with little worry. Considering how much this mod encourages constant party changes to adapt to the pace and difficulty of the game (particularly the gyms), both the early EXP share and the hard level cap are much appreciated. The trade off for these conveniences is that you can't, for example, grind up past the cap to get certain moves/evos early then common candy back down like in the base game, adding to the difficulty of some major battles and sections. As for what I'd like to be added to Hardcore, a feature/challenge mode that limits money gain without the insane level pace of Insanity mode would be nice, I actually made an entire thread pointing out how much more money E16 throws at you compared to previous versions. I'd love for Hardcore to bring back the days where Reborn was a constant struggle to scrape for resources, it felt more fun and rewarding that way rather than being able to buy 99 Ultra Potions after a single Team Meteor sequence. If it could be done it would also be fun to have Mystery Egg challenge runs where you're given a random Mystery Egg mon as a Starter instead of the usual starters, similar to Rejuvenation's jackpot starter system. That's all the feedback I have for now.
  18. Finally getting around to trying this out since the CoM features seem extremely fun. For now I'll be playing on the E15 version specifically for those features but from what I can tell from the above update it seems like E16's version will have quite a lot of new things. I guess my general question is, will I miss out on a substantial amount of new stuff/changes E16 CoM will have by progressing in E15 CoM? If so I would probably rather wait a little longer than invest my time now. The whole thing about rebuilding it "from the ground up" is I guess where my concern came from, even if you're just retracing a lot of your steps I imagine you've still taken advantage of that to optimize/fix/change some things along the way in addition to what you've laid out in the rest of the post (or not I really wouldn't know). Either that or I could just be fundamentally misunderstanding how the CoM stuff works. Even so I'll probably just get impatient and start E15 CoM anyway, I was simply wondering.
  19. Yeah dont get me wrong I don't think there's much of a problem with upping the ante in terms of throwing money at the player in later parts of the game where they can now purchase more expensive items and invest in the cash sinks of E16, they've more or less completed the rite of passage of the rest of the game and it wouldn't be fun to restrict the player financially by that point, plus I suppose it extends the immersion a little bit by making the player feel like they're truly of higher status compared to earlier parts of the game now that they're stronger and have so many badges. I was just a little off put by how nonexistent the financial strain was in earlier parts of the game in the last couple updates.
  20. Guess I had to make a thread questioning what I perceived to be a departure from earlier versions of the game I noticed after I started from the beginning in Episode 16, and it's something I can't say I'm all too thrilled about. One of my favorite aspects of challenge that Reborn presented in the past was resource management, particularly when it came to how much money you could earn and had to work with to buy items. More skilled and methodical players were rewarded since they don't have to use as many items to find victory and perhaps had enough extra money for goodies like PokeSnax, Repels, and Link Stones early on while players with less foresight and inferior preparation/skill faced running out of money later on or were barely scraping by to buy essentials. Even higher class trainers and Gym Leaders often didn't give you an extraordinary sum of money and the average bum or Meteor Grunt gave next to nothing. At first I didn't really notice a change going into my 4th playthrough of Reborn because I simply assumed I had just been getting better at the game (plus Torchic is 2gud) and that's why the early game grind wasn't leaving me as dry for cash as in previous playthroughs. But then I began to notice that generic Meteor Admins in the mid game left behind huge sums of money each and before I knew it, I had already hit over 200,000 pokedollars without really even trying to amass wealth by the time I beat PULSE Abra. Here I knew something was off for sure and confirmed it by comparing how much money Radomus gives you in E16 compared to a previous playthrough that I had uploaded to YouTube that iirc was in E14 when I got to Radomus then. Turns out, Radomus now gives over 3x more money in E16 (from 6,000~ which imo was just fine to 21,000~ now) and I presume prize money has been boosted for most everyone else as well, the change feels that dramatic. I went from carefully calculating how much of each status I could expect in the next area/important battle to determine how many of each status curer I could afford to buy, to indiscriminately buying 99 of each and having cash to spare for 99 Repels as well, all well before what you could consider "late-game" (which for me personally starts at Agate Circus). And don't even get me started on the rematchable trainers in Grand Hall, all of whom give loads of cash and can be fought as many times as you want. I only recently discovered them but, with all due respect to Amethyst, they're laughably easy to abuse. Not for the EXP necessarily, but because they're bursting at the seams with cash with a Department store a few blocks over (granted you still need the stickers but still). In this regard I think Rejuvenation hits it spot on, not in regards to resource management in general, that game has its own issues in that category (berries OP), but with "grinding trainers", which consist of just Breeders with Audinos that give virtually no money. In a game with level caps EXP isn't nearly as valuable a resource so it makes sense for Reborn and Rejuvenation to minimize the amount of time you spend grinding if you need to but money management is still a huge element to me of the Reborn experience that I feel was unjustly trivialized in the new updates. That's just my two cents though that I thought would be valuable to share since I know a lot of you won't notice due to starting right at E16's content. Thanks for hearing me out, if there was an important reason for this change that I completely missed I'm totally open to hearing it. And if someone already brought this up then I guess I'll feel dumb for typing all this out for nothing.
  21. I'm currently around 50 hours into my current save that I'm doing for my new LP and here's my team right after Radomus
  22. This is a pretty good recap but I do think it's a bit long and contains a lot to take in. This is pretty much down to every detail of each event and sequence in the game and I feel like most people who are confused about the plot of the game after a long wait for each episode really don't need most of that but rather just need to be reminded about stuff concerning the big concepts. What is Team Meteor trying to accomplish? How does it tie in with the downfall of Reborn? Why are they after the 4 keys? Who even has them right now? What exactly is under Reborn city? What roles do Sigmund and El have to play in all of this? Explaining character relationships (Laura, Charlotte, and Saphira being sisters, Titania and Amaria being former lovers, Florinia and Titania, Blake and Cal, the mystery of Lin, etc.). I mean to most active forum members this all sounds fairly basic and obvious but it's a lot to remember for the average player and with even a few of the basic pieces missing it's easy to get confused and frustrated with the plot so far in.
  23. Reborn was a really cool game for me to play since the way Reborn wants to be played (meticulously and calculating with a hint of actually knowing your shit) was pretty much how I had been playing Pokemon ever since I got into competitive around 2010. I always tried to build balanced teams I liked in terms of style and look but at the same time had objectively good Pokemon with objectively good movesets and good synergy with each other, and I'd actually pay some attention to nature (to where I'd at least try to not keep a downright awful natured Pokemon). Sometimes I'd even take of note of grinding spots with beneficial EVs, should I ever need to grind. This made the mainstream games great casual, easy as hell, fun, but it was just the right attitude that Reborn and Rejuvenation alike reward.
