  1. Well, there's the Absol that gets thrown at you at the start of the major fight in the forest, but Snubull pretty much entirely counters it. (Snubull pretty much wrecks all of the harder fights in the forest, actually...) Most other Pokemon will just get completely overwhelmed though. Then the Froakie afterwards just destroys as you're trying to catch it, once again also outspeeding most of the team. Throw a bunch of Charms and half of the threat (if it uses Shadow Blitz instead of Wave) is neutralized at least. Gives you time to switch to apply a Sleep Powder or Hypnosis. Apparently, Shadow moves are not effective against Fairy types. Intentional? Nothing really needs to be changed so far IMO. Although I admit I was sad when I looked at the readmes and saw that Taillow, Shroomish, and Marrill were just recently removed. Eh, I'll live.
  2. I just started playing this game. Feels like this game starts out a lot harder than Reborn, huge difficulty spike towards the end of the Golden forest. Snubull's Charm and Deerling's Leech Seed saved the day basically. Quite fair, makes you think about acquiring status moves early. I actually do wonder if it's possible to defeat the Gyarados. The one turn it uses Rain Dance, you can throw a Leech Seed at it. Then, in theory, you can get a Geodude with Sturdy and laugh. That's if you're insanely lucky though. I'm right up to before challenging the 1st gym so far. Quite a neat game, I like how the trainers in town rematch you after the events in the forest to help you level more. Has the potential to be as good as Reborn, I think.
  3. I must say, a Team Meteor revenge team is an amazing concept. Kudos to you.
  4. I've never actually seen the book that you guys are mentioning. In fact, I'm not even sure how to enter the train you guys are talking about. Probably seems like a really dumb question, but how do I do that? I've tried approaching the train from all angles, assuming we're talking about the train that shows up in town near the entrance.
  5. I expect Victoria to show up again soon too. Usually we fight all three rivals fairly close to each other. Since the events of Route 1, we've only fought Fern and Cain once each, though 3 episodes have happened since the fight with Cain. I wonder how her team would change.
  6. I remember seeing Bounce still being there. Icy Wind's going to be really nice for the massive amount of double battles the game throws at you after that point.
  7. Note: Episode 14.5. Very sure this wasn't available here beforehand.
  8. Oh. That doesn't seem so bad then. The only true problematic thing I potentially saw for the fight was the leading Drought. The change seems reasonable. My first win was without Rain Dance too, but I had a Tyrantum and Archeops duo, which is probably just as cheap and very specific counters to her team. Archeops is now going to be even more insane for the fight now that it can learn Stealth Rock from the ORAS move tutors.
  9. I don't think Charlotte should really be nerfed, but on the other hand, we have to note that once the game is completed, there's a potential problem in the fact that her gym is located in an area that is past a point of no return. Most of us on our main save files were able to return to Reborn City and level up alternate teams between the release of each episode, while players starting a new file won't have that luxury. That means if you run into Charlotte and you didn't have the foresight to go pick up specific Pokemon or TMs such as Rain Dance before venturing past the point of no return, the options available to you between Agate Circus and Calcenon City are highly, highly limited. I've even started 3 new save files since the release of Episode 13 to see the true extent of Charlotte's difficulty from the standpoint of a player that most likely won't train multiple Pokemon to prepare for her beforehand, and I've had two main observations thus far: - I found myself heavily reliant on very specific Pokemon that can only be obtained pre-Agate Circus. Namely, Pokemon with Earthquake that won't immediately fall to an Energy Ball, rock types such as Archeops and Tyrantum, and even a Prankster Meowstic to override the speed of Charlotte's leads and get a Rain Dance, Misty Terrain, or Light Screen in. New players that don't know what to expect from the fight and don't read any guides beforehand will NOT be able to backtrack in order to get those. - Trying to level up your team in the post-Agate Circus areas is terrible unless you had the foresight to grind before Aya leaves your party. This doesn't get any better until after you beat Charlotte, because of the sheer amount of Meteor grunts and trainers you fight in Episode 14 + enemy levels don't go any higher compared to Episode 13. Admittedly though, move tutors being updated to ORAS in 14.5 actually does open up a lot more opportunities against her. Like a lot of Pokemon suddenly learning Stealth Rock. I should really start a new file to see how much they're going to change the post-Agate Circus game. I'd also like to mention something else: Her team doesn't have any physical Pokemon as far as I remember. It should probably be changed for this reason. Maybe change the leading Ninetales into something else, like a Flareon with Yawn or Arcanine in general. Probably replace something else with a Tailwind Talonflame. Most of the complaints stem from how incredibly front-loaded her team is, what with the starting Drought, the field effect, and the two leads outspeeding most Pokemon in the game.
  10. The old music was really grating on the ears. I welcome the change.
  11. It'd be a total cop-out, I think. Time travel into the future would assume that your character would end up becoming involved in why Reborn is the way it is, which is cliche enough already. Time travel into the future could go either way, but Shade's 'death screens' were far more subtle. The beauty of Reborn's story is that not everything relevant happens because of your character's mere presence. You have a part in stopping each conflict, but they don't start because of you. There's enough well-written characters moving pieces around that the story can continue to expand in any direction it wanted to. But a time travel plot would, in most cases, automatically divert the story direction to revolve entirely around all the characters involved.
  12. There actually is a way to kill the Kingklang immediately after you get the HM Cut, although I don't think you can really legitimately have a max happiness Pokemon by then unless you EV train from the start of the game. Get a Plusle with Volt Absorb, and make sure it has Charge Beam, Thunder Wave, and Encore. Hope the AI uses an electric type move (1/2 chance), because for some reason the AI in this fight as of Episode 13 doesn't recognize that Plusle has Volt Absorb. Thunder Wave in the same turn. Encore the electric move. Proceed to whittle away at it. Not sure if the AI changes in Episode 14 would have changed this though.
  13. Been playing a new file, noticing that A LOT of Ability Capsules were added pre-7th street. I believe only 3 were available before reaching 7th Street during Episode 13. But now? I'm at 8 at counting.
  14. As of late, I'm thinking more about the keys themselves. What they unlock is most likely nothing like what Team Meteor believes. There's still the question of what that voice was supposed to be when we left that underground tower. The keys are most likely related to whatever THAT is - two keys were used to ascend the tower, after all. Some sort of power did leave Adrienn frozen in time for a decade before the power of the two keys supposedly freed xem. But obviously xe wasn't the only being that was sealed there, we've partially unsealed something else, and that's what the voice may be. The keys may also hold some other power beyond unsealing stuff, power that they exert on their bearers if they're held for long periods of time. Think about what happened to the holders of each key. - Amaria (Sapphire Bracelet): Emotionally unstable, as if she is unable to find love or happiness no matter how hard she looks. The Bracelet used to be in the possession of Laura's family as well (although from a really long time ago), and we all know Laura is quite odd. She has a particular obsession with the number 8, among other things. - Anna (Amethyst Pendant): She has strange powers, that much we know. But of all the bearers, she seems the most sane. As soon as the pendant was taken from her though, she fell incredibly ill for a while. - Luna (Emerald Brooch): She seems to not remember things, or she refuses to acknowledge reality. She no longer has the Brooch, but it doesn't seem to affect her much. We'll likely see her again, though. - Heather (Ruby Ring): Both Heather and the player probably haven't held the ring long enough for any effects to occur if this theory is any correct. But the previous holder, Corey, was desperate to keep the ring, even joining Team Meteor to keep it. In the end, shortly after he lost the ring to Heather, he realized how much pain he caused and committed suicide. ...Come to think of it, does anyone remember what Solaris said about each key underneath the Grand Stairway? Like one being the Seal of Love and so on?
  15. Somehow I'm under the impression that we might soon end up learning about the fate of the trainer that helped us out with a Klefki. And it's going to result in us adopting it. I think we might see Shellder and Slowpoke available next episode too. Maybe Staryu as well. But I doubt Ame's going to give us all three at once - I think there's a high possibility that two of the three are going to be involved in a limited event (as in we have to choose one or the other, with the one we don't pick being unobtainable until they show up in the wild several episodes later).
  16. Uh, what was the old theme? Was this like pre-Episode 12 or was it JUST changed?
  17. I'm also glad that you're taking the time to do this. I would like to trade between different save files as well. I'll send a PM with all the details. --- I am not after any particular Pokemon at the moment, although I do have several shinies if anyone's interested. - Makuhita - Beedrill - 2 Gravelers - Wailmer - Remoraid - Clamperl - Beartic - Skrelp (Lv. 46, Modest with Adaptability, 31 Def/29 Sp.A/28 Spd, has extra Play Rough egg move) - I intend to use this Pokemon on my main team, I would only trade this for an earlier episode Pokemon that is currently unobtainable, such as Togepi, Magikarp, or Shroomish
  18. Yeah, this event was supposed to happen before Agate Circus. Because of where it's located, it's entirely possible for players to end up skipping it (especially since you're supposed to enter the area from one side and not the other).
  19. Didn't Cal mention that he knew of Terra being in Meteor? He said something about Terra rising through the ranks as soon as Lin joined. So maybe she and Lin actually have some sort of connection. (Then again, things probably change depending on whether you outright refuse to give the Ruby Ring to Blake or not. I absolutely refused.)
  20. Checking the TV broadcasts when I first reached Ameterine City, one of them mentions 'anonymous tips' about there still being a Meteor base inside Reborn City itself. Although it seems like this message for some reason stops playing as soon as you either beat Blake or Terra (it goes back to talking about the Calcenon barrier, the exact same broadcast you see at Amaria's house for the first time). If I had to guess, since we got the Waterfall HM and I doubt Terra will be explaining what the heck is going on in Agate City just yet, we're finally about to go after Amaria and Titania. Down to the Water Treatment Center... Likely to be a Meteor stronghold. And we know Titania has some relation to the Meteors... (Also, try revisiting a certain presumably deceased person's house after the events at Ameterine Mountain. Although it's pretty buggy, the cutscene replays itself every time you exit and re-enter.)
  21. I just returned to Reborn City in an attempt to find a Skrelp. I am failing miserably so far because I can't actually fish or surf in any of the areas where they're said to be obtainable.
  22. Pokedex says Skrelp is actually available in the Apophyll area, Azurine Island, Coral Ward, and even Peridot Ward, surprisingly enough. Basically in the toxic areas, though I haven't returned to try finding one myself. I wonder when's the earliest you can obtain Skrelp now. I would assume you need a Good Rod for it. Has anyone actually found Lapras yet? I'm starting to think the event isn't anywhere near the Episode 12/13/14 areas, and the event may actually be in an earlier area...
  23. There's 3 or 4 waves of them, IIRC.
  24. Giving Lunatone a Mega form with a new ability that immediately places itself and the enemy under Perish Song. No cookies for the obvious reference.
  25. Five bucks says the moment Flygon gets EQ by leveling up, Ame moves Trapinch out of game corner to late game. You know it's going to happen. (I'm more interested in seeing how GlitchxCity's going to remix the two entirely new battle themes...)
