I think eventually, we'll have teamed up with every living gym leader in the fight against Team Meteor at some point. I mean... - Julia: Have yet to team up - Florinia: Have yet to team up - Corey: Deceased, but we teamed up with his replacement Aya - Shelly: Teamed up at the orphanage - Shade: Dude, can you imagine teaming up with Shade? That whole thing's gonna be so trippy. - Kiki: Deceased, may team up with replacement Samson while retaking Agate City - Noel: Have yet to team up - Radomus: He has the Amethyst Pendant... - Luna: She clearly says that she hopes that she and the player will meet again after the gym battle. - Charolette: Her city's still under attack by Team Meteor. - Hardy: Will probably team up with him to rescue Aya. Or beat Fern's face in. - Saphira: Major grudge to settle with Sigmund - Amaria: Teamed up for one battle - Titania: May team up trying to protect Amaria. But if Florinia and Julia are heading up, I somehow wonder if we'll be forced to make a decision between supporting either side, if their relationship is hostile. The only gym leader I don't see us teaming up with at any point is Serra, unless the plot mandates her leaving Spinel Town to find out exactly what's happening with Bennet and Luna. Man, if there's one thing I love about Reborn, it's that every character has huge potential roles to play beyond just being an end of chapter boss.

We can't reach it without the Waterfall HM. Which makes sense, all the early game surfing areas require either Dive/Waterfall to proceed further, as we're technically not supposed to be returning to those areas yet.

There's another Ability Capsule in the cave next to Shade's power plant. In a rock close to the entrance, up some stairs. Very worth it to detour in there before fighting Shade.

On my way up to Calcenon City, I could have sworn I saw something that looked like an overworld Axew or Larvitar sprite. Some small green thing in the caves, a section that appears to only be accessible through a Rock Climb path leading to a cave below an intact bridge later on. We probably won't be getting there for a long while yet though.

I think you're supposed to return to Shelly, because if you've fought Cain at the Beryl Ward, that means you saw Heather flying off to see Shelly. Heather should be in Shelly's gym, and the story should advance further.

I'd imagine Victoria would be headed up to join the resistance. Perhaps Florinia will soon be going up too, lord knows she needs to slap some sense into her brother. EDIT: Also is it just me or did several trainer sprites get updated? I started a new game and found that Victoria was wearing darker clothes than usual, and Shelly seemed a bit different from what I remember.

Did you check the cave that was in Route 1 and the cave outside of Shade's Power Plant? I could have sworn I saw a new door at one of those two locations, but I can't remember exactly where. EDIT: There probably isn't, it's almost midnight and my mind's playing tricks on me...

Hmm, a bit off topic, but regarding the guards... I suspect that if you updated to E13 while you are Agate Circus or further, the path back becomes blocked. But if you update while you are in the earlier areas, you're still able to freely go back and forth. I did the latter and did not observe any guards blocking my passage upon my arrival at the Agate Circus. I'm not sure how to test the former though.

Hmm, okay, let me think. You could try sending out Snorlax and Flygon first. Assuming Snorlax has Thick Fat, it should allow him to tank some of the fire attacks before going down, assuming that Typhlosion doesn't have Focus Blast or something. In the meantime, have it spam Body Slam in the hopes of paralyzing her Pokemon. And since Flygon is its partner, the AI probably won't use moves like Heat Wave, and will most likely opt for something like Solar Beam instead. Have Flygon keep using Rock Slide, and hopefully you have a Quick Claw to take advantage of the flinch chance if it goes first. Make sure Flygon doesn't go down for as long as possible, because with Flygon out on the field, the chances of Charolette's AI selecting a dangerous wide fire move is drastically lowered. If Snorlax goes down, send out Luxray. I don't remember if Charloette has any physical fire types on her team, so it probably won't matter if it has Intimidate or not. Either way, Luxray should be able to safely use Discharge since Flygon is ground type, hopefully paralyzing more of Charloette's team. If Flygon ends up going down, send out any Pokemon other than Arcanine and Quagsire. Then spend a turn reviving Flygon while switching out the other Pokemon for Arcanine, hopefully baiting Charloette into having her Pokemon use Heat Wave, therefore activating Arcanine's Flash Fire twice upon switching in. Then send out Flygon again to resume the Rock Slides, and have Arcanine go to town with his boosted Fire Fangs. Quagsire will most likely be largely useless in this fight, unless you stick a Quick Claw on him and hope that he goes first with Earthquake with Togekiss or Flygon out on the field. Or the two opposing Pokemon are paralyzed. This is just theoretical though, I don't guarantee these tactics will work. I'm just trying to make up something based on your current party. --- Hmm, for your reserve Pokemon... Does your Sylveon have Light Screen? That could help tremendously in cutting down the amount of damage her Pokemon wreak on your team, since most of her team consists of special users if I recall correctly. Sylveon can also change the field with Misty Terrain, which will cut down Charloette's offensive power even more. Maybe replace Togekiss (Togekiss will be useless against her Rotom-H).

I believe you'd need a certain badge for Rock Climb, and if I had to guess we won't have access to that for at least another 2-3 gym battles.

It's 8:49 PM where I am and it's snowing, but Absol isn't appearing in my game either. Is it possible the weather down at the main Reborn City has something to do with it? Mine turned into Sunny when I booted up the game, but Agate Circus onwards is in a constant state of hail.

Smoochum was moved. I won't reveal exactly where it's located now, let's just say one of the earlier game caves was completely changed (and as a result, a new ice type Pokemon is made available much earlier in the game as well.) And as a result of Smoochum being moved the way it was, its availability for most people was moved to much later in the game... Oh, you need Rock Smash to access that cave. That probably makes it too obvious. :/

I somehow didn't need Rain Dance to defeat Charloette. I had a Tyrantum set up Stealth Rock during the first turn while I had Blaziken out to absorb attacks and nuke with Hi Jump Kick as much as possible, then have the Tyrantum use Head Smash until Blaziken was out. Send out Archeops with Rock Slide while Tyrantum switches to Earthquake. But most people aren't going to have a setup anywhere similar to that. I only did because I couldn't decide which of the rock types I wanted to round out my team, and it turned out that I needed both to beat Charloette. On another note, I've been going around and exploring. Found that if you enter the mountain through the surf entrance near Amaria's house and then use Escape Rope, you'll glitch yourself at that entrance with no choice but to reload. If you save, I'd imagine you're screwed. So don't do that, guys. Regarding early game Surf areas: Regarding possible Sticker quests:

I played Zeta before discovering Reborn. Zeta is really, REALLY lengthy. Post-E4 also involves a lot of grinding, but I figure if you've been through Reborn, you should be at a level where grinding in Zeta is unnecessary (I beat the final boss of Zeta with a level 90-95 team, although I had no idea there was an obscure optional dungeon that you could really level up and prepare in beforehand). The game hands you a lot of stuff on a platter compared to Reborn though. Earthquake could be potentially obtained before the 3rd gym, for one. Gible can be found at a very low rate before the 2nd gym. You can use IV stones to reset a crap IV to max (this is something I'd like to see implemented in Reborn at some point, but obviously at a far greater cost). One of the most annoying things IMO is the creator's insistence on keeping everything within Gen 5 mechanics, even though many Gen 6 mechanics were introduced later. Steel still resists Ghost and Dark. Fairy types do exist, but it doesn't apply to those that were retyped Fairy in Gen 6. Keep expectations in check. Zeta is decent, but nowhere near Reborn level.

The Field Effect Factory's Latest Product Line!
Alilatias replied to Amethyst's topic in News and Announcements
Noel technically has that grassy field, but if my memory serves me correctly, he can't really take advantage of anything beyond the healing per turn on his non-flyers. -
Those fields are for future episodes, for the gyms that currently don't have fields of their own. Not Episode 13. Rocky Field is probably for Kiki, Forest Field for Shelly, Factory for Shade. Shortcircuit Field sounds like it'd be for Titania.

I'd like any Togepi, really. So I accept. I'll be sending a PM to the topic starter~

Game of Reborn: A Field of Ice and Fire
Alilatias replied to Amethyst's topic in News and Announcements
First week of September. That's honestly earlier than I expected. Not that it's a bad thing! *runs* -
I started yet another new file and got a good female Fennekin to breed and use throughout the game. However, she has Blaze instead of Magician. I have a Fennekin that I'd be willing to trade for a Pokemon holding an Ability Capsule. I'm specifically looking for a Tyrunt or Togepi.

Yeah, I'm going with this theory. Defeating Ciel might allow us to use the Fly HM, and defeating Terra might allow us to use the Dive HM that we already have from one of the Circus games. Or Rock Climb. Considering we're supposed to be going up Ametrine Mountain, I don't expect us to be able to storm in and retake Agate City during the next chapter. There was that Meteor grunt that quickly moved off-screen during our brief trip into the city, they're obviously doing something in there. Giving us Fly would allow us to circumvent the inability to travel through Agate City and return to Reborn City for whatever reason, at least from a plot/logic standpoint.

In my case, I found my rxdata in a folder completely separate from the Pokemon Reborn folder used to launch the game. For me, it was in... Desktop -> [Computer/User name] -> Saved Games -> another Pokemon Reborn folder containing all your screenshots and save file. You have to put your save file in this second folder in order to access it.

All I've learned is that Leech Seed is godly. It's more effective the higher leveled your enemy is, because after tanking enemy attack with the likes of Charm, you'll recover more HP than the enemy inflicts damage. Especially against Garchomp and Arceus, I've defeated both of them without using the usual Destiny Bond/Mirror Coat strategies. The only counters against it in Reborn are grass types and the Clefable with Magic Guard, I don't think there's anything that uses Rapid Spin against you. Since the AI isn't prone to switching unless they have absolutely nothing they can hurt your Pokemon with, it's pretty much free setup time.

I... I just leveled my Vivillon to 50. And taught her Hurricane, believing that all my hard work using an interesting Pokemon that I had never ever used before in any Pokemon game would finally pay off. This one didn't have Compoundeyes either, I was too impatient in trying to get one with a good nature/IVs early in the game, and I'm not at 7th Street yet. I want to curl up in a ball and cry in a corner now. *goes to headbutt trees for a Taillow*

I'd like Klefki, never played Gen 6 but it seems like a really neat Pokemon. Its typing and Prankster ability probably makes it broken-ish for Reborn though. Since we're heading up a snowy mountain, I'd guess we'll probably see the Spheal line and Avalugg. Hell, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an Avalugg puzzle.
