  1. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this to you yet, but regarding the new intro, the dialogue with Connor and the Ava/Scarlett cutscene immediately after washing up on the beach assumes it's still the old intro (Connor asking about what happened to the character, where he makes a reference to the old intro having the captain be a member of Team Crescent that hurls you overboard, plus Ava saying she made a promise to the player to go find them later when she doesn't do so in the new intro).
  2. Yeah, I'm hoping one of the fossils turns out to be Fire/Rock too. A theoretical tiki Pokemon could definitely be Rock/Ghost. Considering how Hawaii is known for volcanoes, this might be a good opportunity to have a healthy Fire Pokemon selection towards the start of the game. I'm more interested in the potential for the 'mascot bird' for this generation, though. GameFreak knows people responded pretty well to the Talonflame line for not being your standard Flying/Normal type. I hope this time around, they model the standard mascot bird after hummingbirds. Maybe Electric/Flying.
  3. Actually, I think I ran into the same thing too, somehow I had taken the quest without ever actually initiating it myself. I don't know how it happened, may have had something to do with accepting the last quest available from her first. I ended up being able to do both at the same time. @Atlas Keneph caves.
  4. I can imagine why you'd want to do that. The entire boat thing is never even brought up later in the game. Like what did Crescent even want with the ship, anyway?
  5. Check out what I scored in my latest playthrough. (I don't care too much for natures/EVs as long as the IVs are passable.)
  6. Yeah, I'm still in the process of figuring out how the rest of the sidequest will go. A lot of it may hinge on what future regions will be like, I suppose. It's one massive world-building sightseeing tour with an extremely valuable reward at the end, a different spin on the Magikarp sidequest of Reborn. I had thought the rewards for the first three parts were good enough, then I got floored with how generous this game is compared to Reborn and Rejuvenation. >_> Maybe some TMs are in order. Some of you have probably already guessed what the ultimate reward is...
  7. If you still have the Episode 2 folder, you can go into Audio -> BGM -> right click on 'Battle - Hardy' -> Copy, then go into the same folder in your Episode 3 files and Paste it. You'll be prompted if you want to 'Copy and Replace'. Do so, and this will change the theme in your Episode 3 back to the old theme. You'll lose the new theme though, so keep a backup of it somewhere just in case. I only figured this out because during beta testing, there was actually going to be a new gym battle theme, but it appears it didn't make it into the official release (guessing the majority of testers found the current theme better). I liked the beta theme, so I did some experimenting to see if I could keep it for the official release, and it worked. EDIT: Crud, I just realized I read the entire conversation wrong. Blah.
  8. I remember someone earlier in the thread asked about where to find Drilbur.
  9. *salutes* Have fun, everyone! You guys are in for one heck of a ride! (And we are definitely going to need a sub-forum for this game...) For those wondering, I actually helped design two of the sidequests in this episode. One can be completed start to finish before the 4th gym (although it will require advancing the main plot to a certain point). The other can be thought of as Desolation's version of the Reborn Magikarp sidequest, although it's not clear what the ultimate prize is. Some will probably be able to guess, though.
  10. Oh, I should mention that while you all are waiting for Episode 3, I've noted during testing that it's very, very easy to hit the level cap for the 4th gym long before you actually get to challenge it, assuming you're the type of person that likes to clear every sidequest possible before challenging the gym. Consider training one or two additional Pokemon throughout the course of the episode if you want to use as few Common Candies as possible, especially after the 3rd gym. Those extra Pokemon will definitely help you out in the long term. (I trained THREE extras and I still had to use a few Common Candies... And I don't regret it. I actually needed those three to beat the 4th gym.) If there aren't any Episode 1-2 Pokemon that interest you enough to make plans to train those, don't fret. The Episode 3 Pokemon selection is MASSIVE.
  11. This game's going to need its own forum section soon. I can already tell there's going to be a lot of repeated questions coming up...
  12. Aye, I'm looking forward to this. Although I wonder if a certain thing I suggested might have been very over the top in terms of difficulty...
  13. Taken from another poster at another forum, an alternative theory: SOLGALEO --> SOL + GALEO Sol (Spanish) = Sun Galeo The genus name Cirrhigaleus is derived from the Latin "cirrus" which means curl fringe and the Greek "galeo" meaning a shark. The species name asper is derived from Latin, meaning rough. LUNAALA --> LUNA + ALA Luna (Spanish) = Moon Ala In Greek seems to mean, "defending man". In Spanish means "wing" In latin means "wing" I would totally go for a sun shark and a moon owl. Sun shark could be fire/electric and moon owl could be ice/fairy.
  14. It's not a game you really play for the plot or for overall difficulty (at least compared to the likes of Reborn). It's mainly for refined gameplay features, and is one of the very few handful of fangames that has some sort of online functionality.
  15. I'd find it hilarious if the fight club cliche was spun a different way. As you win tougher battles in the fight club, you become so well known that the fight club becomes the worst kept secret in the game's universe. To the point where you have people with bruised egos stalking you outside of the club to challenge you in unofficial matches, to the surprise of nobody spectating.
  16. I know once Taillow replaces Starly as the mega rare bird at the start of the game, I'm going to do a Hoenn-only run. Should be quite fun. I would hope Taillow's encounter rate would be higher than Starly's though, if only slightly... It took me an hour to find Starly the first time around.
  17. I'd be on board for that. I had already helped beta test another fangame before (Revelation).
  18. I had an idea, but I think it'd be best told in a PM, haha.
  19. I would like to say, don't give up on developing this game. I am actually looking forward to the next chapter despite all the bugs and grammatical errors I encountered while testing, and I would say that the one major strength of this game is just how varied the environments are. The salt marsh with the hidden caves is a very neat idea.
  20. Many thanks. I wasn't normally supposed to get Skarmory? Didn't know that. I would have asked for something else like an earlier game Taillow had I known that. Guess I'll just chuck Skarmory into the PC until Chrysolia Forest or something.
  21. Hi all. I've had an urge to replay Reborn recently, and finally decided that I'd likely enjoy most a Flying type run. For now, I think I'd like the following placed into my save file. - Skarmory - Chatot Also, I'd like the Mystery Egg changed into a Togepi, if that hasn't happened already. Many thanks. (On a side note, is it also possible to alter in-game trades to other Pokemon? If so, I'd like the Carnivine/Tynamo trade changed to award Magikarp. If this isn't possible, then change the Skarmory in my initial request to Magikarp. Or just toss a Magikarp into the PC, I won't touch it until I get to Agate Circus anyway.) 22. If I may say something, keeping the level caps as low as possible wouldn't be necessarily a bad thing. It would actually encourage players to level up a reserve set of Pokemon for different situations instead of spamming Common Candies on overleveled Pokemon. Or so I'd hope. The main complaint about level caps for Reborn-type games tends to be less about the cap existing and more about the difficulty in actually leveling up reserves (though more of an issue in Reborn than Rejuvenation). The amount of new Pokemon available per episode from this point on would have to drastically increase to encourage that, though.
  23. Speaking as someone that started in Episode 3 (and was probably one of two people that got Jumpluff axed and moved to MUCH later in the game), Jumpluff was so good in the early game to the point where it basically outclassed every other early game grass and flying type (bar Murkrow, which is now also axed). It would stall the hell out of everything, and anything it couldn't stall, it would at least get off a Leech Seed before going down due to its insane speed. Since it had Leech Seed, it was also a staple in killing Mewtwo back when it was meant to be an entirely unwinnable fight (used to be Lv. 50).
  24. I somehow get the impression Hardy may use this field as well. The field wrecks Water attacks, and Smack Down gets turned into a fire-type attack which would wreck Grass and Steel types too. Trying to change the field might actually make things MORE advantageous for Hardy as well, at least in the raw offense department (Grass and Steel types wouldn't get wrecked as fast, and Hardy would lose protection against Water attacks, but Rock-type attacks in general get a huge boost).
  25. Alright, about to get my fourth badge, meaning I can start breeding Axew for anyone that wants one. I should mention that the ability to breed Iron Tail or Night Slash onto one is out of my reach since I don't have an Aron or a Treecko, although if you have either, you can breed one to another Axew yourself (and hopefully with better IVs too). EDIT: Turns out my Mystery Egg Pokemon is an Aron, meaning I do have the ability to breed Iron Tail onto an Axew now. Let me know if you want an Axew with Iron Tail (my Aron ended up female meaning I'd need to breed for a male one first). Here's proof that I have an Axew. (Or a Fraxure. Same thing.) That said, I really want to plug up strategic holes in my team. My team gets destroyed by ice types and struggles against steel types in particular. I'm planning on replacing Misdreavus and Graveler, but I don't know with what. I want to try using Pokemon that I've never used before in particular. Right now, I'm especially looking for the following: - Litwick - Golett? (I wouldn't mind having two Ghost types, I'd have never used either of them before anyway) - Carbink (too lazy to hunt for one myself, using a strategic Stealth Rock Pokemon seems fun.) I don't care about IVs as long as all the primary stats are reasonably high (20+) and the Pokemon has a preferred nature. Before anyone asks about the Greninja and Levanny, I jumped versions quite a bit...
