  1. The way Desolation's plot and universe is set up, it doesn't look like there's a need for them here. The closest thing I can think of is the Hands of Arceus questline, what with the planned future phases of that quest line (my signature having a hint towards the direction the quest line is going to take). They wouldn't be anywhere near crazy though.
  2. I had this exact issue during testing too, ha. Should really be changed, I think.
  3. There's one on Hardened Mountain, hidden in a rock to the left on the path to the summit.
  4. It's still only a fairly new fangame (barely a little over a year and a half old) and is only featured on one website. I'm sure I or others in this thread would write a guide, if this game ever got its own forum section. As it is now, there's kinda nowhere to put a guide without it cluttering up the forums and looking VERY out of place.
  5. I might as well straight up say this now. Honedge is being reserved for something special, and won't be available anytime soon. Some people here probably already figured out where it's going to come from.
  6. Assuming you're using Windows, the directory to your save file should be... Local Disc C -> Users -> (Computer Name) -> Saved Games -> Pokemon Desolation Your save file is called Game.rxdata. (Moving that file to another folder by the way is how you maintain multiple save files for the vast majority of Pokemon fangames.)
  7. That... Should be the correct room, if I remember correctly. You might want to post your save here for Caz to look at it. (There's also a possibility that you haven't read all of the other books in the previous rooms yet, but I don't think that should affect the door in any way.)
  8. Has it been 3 days yet? I guess it's been 3 days. Obviously massive spoilers pertaining to the 'fifth ending'. Video description describes the full process to obtain it.
  9. My personal theory regarding what the ending implies.
  10. You have to have done a sidequest for someone first, and then return to them BEFORE heading off to the archives when it's time for you to go there. If you're already in there, you're already past the point of no return. (You also have to ignore the advice that several other people tell you, when you discover that it's time to head to the library. That should be enough of a hint as to who that someone is. At the same time though, THAT is also the point of no return for being able to do the sidequest in the first place.)
  11. If you think that's surprising, you should see the new TM list. Desolation teams are likely to end up FAR stronger than Reborn and Rejuvenation teams at this point. Caz has been very kind with the new Pokemon selection and items given out in this chapter for some reason. Then again, the VERY frequent major story battles resulting in teams ramming straight into the level cap if you don't raise reserve Pokemon might have something to do with that. This is actually a very good game to experiment with using Pokemon you've never tried using before.
  12. Gonna say now, you're going to be asking for more music sources soon. Even though Desolation was put on hold for about 6-8 months... Caz came out of it as a much better writer and scenario designer. You all are in for a hell of a ride. If you thought Episode 3 was intense, ya'll haven't seen anything yet.
  13. The level cap is actually re-adjusted to 60 in Episode 4 instead of the original 55. Obviously the episode is loaded with tons of content to justify that. Not as much as the massive content bomb that was Episode 3, but more than enough to force you to use a ton of common candies if you don't redirect all of that extra EXP to reserve Pokemon for future use. There are a great many plot important battles in this chapter, though. Bring your A-team if you sense a major battle coming up.
  14. There is one thing I should mention that was observed throughout the course of testing. The trend of leveling up reserve Pokemon to avoid having to spam common candies is going to continue in this chapter. If you run into any new Pokemon in this chapter that you find interesting, it'd be a good idea to raise them. And there's a lot of new interesting Pokemon in this chapter...
  15. Probably my biggest pet peeve is people throwing out the word 'edgy' to describe anything even remotely resembling dark. But I'm sleepy and that's another rant for another day (if ever), but I'll just simply say this: Desolation is NOT edgy. There's a pretty big difference between using death (or the implication thereof) as a plot device, and using it to make the world seem dark in general (often to utterly ridiculous effect in the end), and Desolation hasn't crossed that line. There's only one character that teeters dangerously close to that, but it's pretty clearly the entire point of that character existing, I suppose.
  16. Hmm, I actually agree with some of your assessments, though mostly regarding Vejyr and Silver Rise, along with Connor being a little too over the top for a first gym leader. For Vejyr and Silver Rise in particular, I was actually the one that suggested putting repel vendors in front of those places (they didn't exist prior to Episode 3 full release), and Weeping Hills used to be located in Route 1 (I suggested moving it to Route 2 for obvious pacing reasons). Perhaps Vejyr would benefit from being redone. It doesn't really make sense for it to be riddled with lava jumping platform puzzles when it's supposedly supposed to be one of the main roads connecting the various areas on the island. It is also a bit over the top for an early dungeon to have what I would refer to as an 'attrition field' in general (though it is important to note that the Crescent grunts you fight are just as subject to the field's effects as you are). Well, the early game is extremely unfriendly to those who chose grass starters, the field just makes it even more so. As for everything else, I found the forest section to be the most interesting beginning phase for all three fangames (the other two I refer to are Reborn and Rejuvenation, I consider Desolation on the same level as those two), although I do agree with the boat thing. That said, I don't think Desolation is really any edgier than the other two, I actually found it to be -FAR LESS- so compared to Rejuvenation (which made frequent references to non-plot essential NPCs dying for no real reason at all). The vast majority of the edginess so far in Desolation in comparison basically revolves around one of the admins of the Black Foxes and an admin of Team Crescent only, everything else that could even be remotely considered edgy was important for advancing the plot.
  17. *salutes* As I had mentioned before, I am still in this ride until the end!
  18. I truly doubt it's going to be that simple. If there's one thing that Desolation is known for, it's that you barely ever see the twists coming, and they're not really what you expect.
  19. Catch a Bidoof, evolve it into Biabarel, use Defense Curl a couple times, heal, and proceed to Rollout your way to victory. Or at least that's how I assume most people do it.
  20. *salutes* Next part of the dagger/photo pilgrimage should be quite interesting, if all things go well. Chances are though that you may have to backtrack to where the girl is, to initiate the next phase of the sidequest before heading off to Celia City.
  21. Let's have an incredibly snarky librarian in the next city that describes the various areas on each island, including ones we haven't been to yet. Kind of like Reborn's historians, but more amusing yet flawed at the same time. "Only Arceus knows why the island folk decided to build a main road THROUGH Vejyr instead of AROUND the volcano." "Why does the labyrinth even exist? Because why the hell not?" "There is only one rule when traversing the frozen lands, and no, it has nothing to do with having to bury your horrid fashion style. Bring Repels. Lots and lots of repels." May or may not end up tying into the photo/dagger sidequest later.
  22. @Alilatias - Alilatias, character name is typically 'Saito'.
