  1. I'm sure the praises of this quest have been sung to death but I finished this last night and it is definitely one of my favorite quests so far. Not sure if it tops Desert adventures with Taka but it is close. The characters it spotlights are all fantastic. I loved getting the chance to finally battle Ame and battling Heather's mom was an unexpected surprise that makes me sad how different it could have been. Elias regretting his decisions and the dinner hurt so much. When I first saw Taube I was pretty confused as to what was happening. But as it slowly sank in who he was my heart was breaking. Then, seeing Elias talk about the Alcantara line ending and voicing everything I was thinking. It was the closest I've gotten in this game to tearing up. (There aren't many pieces of Media that have done that). Then coming from that tragedy at the beginning to the best Champion ever! I am very biased toward bug types and I'm so happy how Shelly was handled the entire game. Good for her! I felt bad for defeating her but I'd happily just let the game make Shelly the champ if I were able. I also loved how Titania was her mentor after showing how much respect she was gaining from Saphira and Titania in the last few episodes. Thanks to everyone who worked on this. This continues to be one of my favorite games of all time and I'm excited for the rest of the post game!
  2. Eclipse was a Meteor Ace. And there is an Asteroid and Eclipse in the first card. So that could be something
  3. I'm not sure what you expect a guy to do when you ask him to go do a boss battle that is stacked against him and he can't win without a well thought out strategy on a field he has never seen before now. Also if he loses then he loses a team member. Reading a description is not the same as actually battling on a field. Similar to how reading about or watching VGC battles won't make you good at VGC. What else would he do other than use the one strat that has worked for him so far.
  4. Magic Square is the worst. A lot of puzzles in this game make clever use of new or existing mechanics. Or they incorporate the Pokemon in that environment in fun ways. This puzzle is neither. it is just you trying to solve a number puzzle with very limited controls. The controls are probably the hardest part of the puzzle. The hardest puzzle, I'm not sure. Finding Beldum is still the puzzle that would be the most difficult to solve on your own since you really need to think outside the box. Once you know what to do it isnt so bad Hardest mandatory puzzle is still shellys books imo
  5. I like the weakest link system. It forces him to change his team up when it under performs. I've seen too many playthroughs of Pokemon where people beat their head against a wall with the same team against the same boss until they either win by luck or they trick the AI into letting them win. Just because they don't want to grind a new member of the team up to level 70. I'm glad TTar is willing to grind and keeps the battles fresh on each try.
  6. It would be good for him to not rush through it anyway. Wouldn't want him to finish before Ep 19 comes out
  7. Belly was my favorite. What a redemption story, and what an end. RIP
  8. I am pretty hyped with this run at this point. This guy is just rocking out with MVPs Kiki and Belly. I'm rooting for him all the way.
  9. in-game MC must have narcolepsy. I can just imagine them wanting to battle the Gardevoir or warn Indriad but they just randomly fall asleep. And when they come to someone "saved" them. New cannon, every time the screen fades to black the MC falls asleep for a while. Which is how they get thrown in prison so much
  10. So, okay I'm glad I finally got that out of my system. Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this! I can't wait for the final episode and I will be on the edge of my seat until it is out. This is one of my favorite games ever and I just want the Devs to know the only reason I would make a rant like this is because I am a huge fan of all their hard work. I can only write rants like this because you all give me so much to dig into and think about!
  11. Amaria's gym is easily the worst puzzle. Even if it is a metaphor it definitely hit home making me feel completely lost and frustrated.
  12. I've always wondered this too lol
  13. I got emotional regeneration. which seems pretty good all things considered. I guess I cant get PTSD at least or suffer from heartbreak for too long.
  14. So according to the Maintenance message, can we assume the episode won't be available until the 10th?
  15. Wow they actually released Naganadel. My mono poison and dragon runs just became a lot easier.
  16. With how good Nappy has been doing I think they are set. They past the Shelly threshold as well. With Nappy tracking down all the encounters and everyone having a nice diverse team I doubt that even Charlotte or Titania can sweep every one of them. And as long as one survives the Locke continiues.
  17. Lin is officially Aizen confirmed. Master planner, grooming the trainer to be strong enough to test her ultimate power, then ends up losing to said trainer.
  18. To me Shelly is easily the best gym leader and always provides a crazy challenge that never feels unfair. There is no one way to beat her but you usually have to work for it.
  19. @Commander these are some great ideas! I do love the mini bosses in reborn. I also love the idea of giving more trainers the seeds to abuse. Thanks for the insight!
  20. I love the field effects as much as the next guy but I have to admit they need some tweaking. The start with the factory field is a great way to show off effects. Giving the player a guide is also a great idea. But then I start hitting some concerns. The field guide is great, but it is still just a guide. You can't really do anything too elaborate to prepare without experiencing the effect first hand and practicing on it. Shelly and Amaria both have well established fields in the game that by the time you get there you know what you are facing. Radomus, Aya and Luna use the gym itself or the area around the gym to prep you for what's to come. Luna can even have her field changed to other more familiar fields to give you an advantage. There is a ton of good game design here and it helps immerse the player and provide a challenge. But the first three gyms somehow fall short of this. In each gym you are faced with a leader with an entirely new field you have no experience playing in. The player has to learn on the spot and it is asking a little much. Knowing pin missile does more in Desert doesn't mean much until you actually see how well florina uses it and how it can wreck her team. This is repeated later on with Adrien where you are thrown into the fairy tale field and proceed to get wrecked without a steel type. This game needs a field training area or something. A way to practice with these fields. Even if it's only available once you get their entry in the field effect guide. I've mentioned before in the trainers school there are battle arenas set up already which you be perfect to foreshadow some later gyms. But they are just the generic standard arena with no field effect.
