  1. There is no script or easy way to give it as I would say a Good 500 different things you could easily miss. Since eventing is by tile...yeah there will never be one.
  2. Yep, that is actually a really good reason tbh. I mean I did it for Hardcore just to stop people from overleveling (and freaking changing 100 trainer levels) and it's hilarious how people are split 50-50 on this idea. I personally don't care as it eventually makes for an even bigger grind down the line as you'd be wasting approximately 40 level ups using the level limiter. Reborn itself is fine since the soft limit and hard limit are different with a gap inbetween. If you're saying you need to stop your Pokemon from leveling up in REGULAR reborn, there's more problems there than one because you shouldn't be dancing on the cap but usually 3-5 levels below. So yeah, don't think Reborn really needs to stop exp grinding as it's not an issue.
  3. If you do click the link chubb listed below, which you shouldn't. You should especially not click the next video after it.

  4. Please tell me I'm not the only one who is bothered by those pillows. I suppose it's 12 years of seeing pillows being circles (or on beds) or flat and never shown on couches that warped my vision of them. I can't say they're bad, but 12 years of never seeing something angled in a Pokemon game warps your mind a bit. They aren't bad though.
  5. ...I never would've expected Bibs of all people to give a well done post. (Then again I've seen him RP). Nations last season was a mess, but it was very fun. I'm sure you know the whole we are men thing in which created some drama, but you can't stop all of it. It happens and it's uncontrollable. I remember Nations well since that was the first time I made my own topic and I screwed up hard and my freak out was golden. Anyways, I really think the whole nations thing has been taken way out of context. It's just a game where you battle other people for fun in the end. I won't give names but I did see something about an argument over how a certain user shouldn't have won a battle. A win is a win and that's all that matters. Yeah it feels bad when you make a mistake but the best is when you have those golden moments such as Dash's lucky Heracross win which you can't help but laugh about. It's frustrating to get haxed, but it also is how glorious moments come about. And I'd rather be in a nation that loses every single week while still having fun that one that pushes people around and does whatever they can to win. It's just a game. I had a lot of fun in the first nations which is why I joined there and it wasn't always about winning. I mean you tried to win but we chatted and tried our best to win. Sometimes we had those random wtf moments such as one member of Apophyll uses Teeter Dance. Yeah we it wasn't always daisy and flowers but this is just a game where you work with other people for better or worse. I said it so many times and I'll say it one last time: it's just a game. Don't take it too seriously.
  6. Uhh...you do realize people sometimes upvote for the sake of upvoting otherwise I'd have 0 rep. Usually it's the stupid things that get upvoted instead of legitimate good points, but that's off topic. Let's change the subject. I can honestly say I really liked this weeks challenge as the one item makes for some surprising strategy. Since there's no mega spam it really turned it back a bit towards Gen V. Some very interesting teams were made that even I certainly wasn't expecting.
  7. Since Amazon won (we still have one match), I don't feel so bad about posting this since I had to come up with a mock Gaia team. This thing really grew on me being a freaking wall that can one shot a few mons especially for a nation that really benefits from Sheer Force LO
  8. Techie the rotom...invading Pokedexes before it was cool.

You were nice, and made Sandstorm deal type-scaling damage, then, right? No? Well, it'll be a challenge to look forward to, I guess.

  10. 1. If I get it done and Reborn E16 is nowhere near close to completion, I'll release it early. That's not anytime soon though. That'll also have some minor updates and perhaps a Ciel buff. Again you may as well play 2.1 as nothing is going to come anytime soon. If Reborn goes two more weeks without a Percentage update, I'll release CoM early. E16's development time has taken a toll so I'd at least want to give you guys something to hold you over. Ame please update the progress bar 2. This is the tricky part: It depends on what I'm doing for that particular episode and for retesting due to AI changes. A month is generally the best estimate but it could take from 2 weeks to even 6 weeks from all the maintenance required. It's a wait and see type deal as I want the whole game to be good, not just the current episode. I also have to edit the titlescreen a little bit as I know a lot of people get confused if the game really is Hardcore. 3. Chamber of Memories will be added once I get it done. It's its own challenge and designed in gym leader castle style. That was 4 gens ago so it's not a perfect replica but you get the idea. Since this thing is taking so long. I'm going to probably release an unfinished version of it while I add in the charm stuff at my own leisure. Each episode I'll merely adjust the levels of each leader so it won't take too long to update for each episode. 4. The TMs aren't very powerful to promote using mons who learn better movesets without screwing mons with crappy level up movesets. Low Sweep, Power-up Punch, Incinerate, Snarl, and other tms with low BP but and effect with them. There's also Calm Mind and Shadow Ball. Trust me, you'll need to budget yourself a bit when it comes to these TMs as they're all pricey. ----------------------------------------------------------------- @Quickslip, I called it Chamber of Memories because that's what clicked in my head. All of these battles take place in a place you've visited before bar one in which I gave to Trevor to do. A big theme of this place is corruption and while some may look fine at first glance, others have some unusual little easter eggs and such to mess with. I know there's the KH game, but it's gotten really old and almost forgotten and the abbreviation of CoM or RH-CoM. I don't care for the name Hardcore but it's stuck around for so long it's kind of hard to switch. Anyone's free to throw name suggestions for it though. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I'm also going to make a little annoucement for E16. Have you ever said something like this: "GODDAMMIT COMMANDER! Chill out with the exp already. My Pokemon are way over the cap and now I gotta spend all my money on common candies." Well I have news for you. Hardcore Episode 16 will allow for an option called the level limiter. Basically it stops your Pokemon from gaining experience once they reach the cap (or the level limit for Corey or Kiki) until you beat that episode's gym leader. Don't like this idea? no problem! You can keep using the old method instead hassle free. I'll give a better description of it including the caps once Episode 16 is released.
  11. I was on mobile and on a break so I couldn't really explain myself so now I can go into detail. This question does not really help find an answer since it's way too vague. If you look at statistics, the games the sell the most are ones that change very little. Look at CoD, Super Mario, and especially Pokemon. CoD shot themselves in the foot with literally changing so little which caused their decline in sales, but Pokemon still continues to thrive just by adding so little changes each gen which is mostly refine the formula. People do like change and innovation, but it's such a huge risk and can really flop back at you. Look at the game Wonderful 101. Great game, high praise, really cool innovation, but it flopped. I could name loads of games that this happened to and loads that were successful. It's merely luck of the draw. Another game that I can think of that really changed the formula was Xenosaga II. That kills what would've been a really good and unique series because it took away quite a bit of what people loved about the first game. Your game and the new military one (sorry the name slipped my mind) really aren't innovative games since they use the same base formula. It just brought concepts to the game that really stand out. Super Pokemon Eevee edition is the only game to go with a semi innovative game based on Final Fantasy style fighting. Bringing new ideas and concepts work best as people do like consistent formulas and being able to jump into something they can pick up fast. People love the core game of Pokemon but due to the weak plot, people thirst for changes in story. Most of the fangames bring something different to the table. Dark Rising has brutally unfair difficulty, Reborn brought a new style of story and field effects along with the infamous 6 Pokemon for leaders, Hardcore built off of Reborn's system. Rejuvenation brought fake moves into the Reborn formula. Suzerain's games all have crazy amounts of features. The FireRed Omega series brought a harder version of the main games. Ruby destiny brought a hack series all of which are pretty fun with interesting stories. There are even Crystal and Gold remakes made from hacks. Heck, there's one based on the anime. So I don't know what you're looking for in your question. All fan-games/hacks bring something new and unique on their take of Pokemon. Maybe you forgot, but I was discussing Chrono Cross with you about the two world concept and how very few games have done something like that recently or at least Chrono Cross style. I could argue the CoM project brings something new to the table as something like it hasn't appeared in 15 years (cough Pokemon Stadium cough) and certainly hasn't done it on this scale.
  12. I'm currently pulling hardrives out and I found a disc called Jack's Attic. The nostalgia level is so high right now.

  13. I think this question should be reworded as do you like to play franchise games like super Mario because it is kind of a silly question. The answer is yes.
  14. I'm glancing at this concept and I won't judge too harshly since I hastily skimmed it, but my eyes were distracted by the Gym leader designs. The first gym leader is horrendously built as it forces the player to run an Ice type and a grass type and I'm not even sure how levels work at that point or if its doubles or singles. Quag and Eviolite Gligar will just wall everything. Heck, Gligar doesn't even need anything to start walling which is saying something. The team also uses the sandstorm weather very weakly only turning Diglett into a Dugtrio in a nutshell. Ryhorn with weakness policy or a sash would be kind of interesting to play for example. Even an eviolite on that isn't bad if you want a brutal level difficulty like Hardcore. What you have there is too much. I say this because the gym leader designs are very whacked up. If there was consistency I could give better advice but I just see not very practical things being placed on a team. The third gym (or whatever the rank the poison one is) is way easier than the first gym leader by a landslide. Half of those mons won't effect the battle at all and Scarf Nido for last really makes an almost guaranteed victory. Obviously these aren't the final teams, but I would have preferred to see way better difficulty scaling if you're going to post the leaders. With that out of my head, I'll look at the overall concept again: First thing I noticed is that you say people who fail to pass the first round are to "fend for themselves." Err...isn't the point of a military to prevent that? It also can be interpreted as a fancy way of giving them the death sentence. Other than that, the rest seems sound, but a little scatterbrained. I just feel it needs to be reordered a bit to flow better, but you get your point across. While a concept like this is interesting, it requires quite a few new graphics as Pokemon in general is very peaceful often putting technology towards innovation and livelihood. War and military is also a very interesting concept as dark and mature themes are very strong in them. There's quite a few way to handle a game like this including just making it an explore the world type deal instead of plot driven like most fan-games are. There's just so much I could say, but it's your game and you kind of have to make decisions where to go with it. A lot of good ideas, but realistically this is all theoretical stuff so it can only be discussed so far.
  15. I could name the RP characters but since most of the ones I liked were based off of OCs of a novel or novel idea, I may as well go into the originals. I'll start with the character Henry Baldwin was based off of Jeremy "Typhoon" (Can't remember his last name off the top of my head): Typhoon was a very interesting concept. When making characters, I generally was able to label them good or evil in terms of the story or at least which side they were on. I asked myself what would someone be like if they stood in the very middle. And thus this swordsman came to birth. His original concept was quite different than the final result after who knows how many bloody revisions because this guy was hard to figure out. His appearance and weapon style are very interesting. He actually wears black drapes to cover himself along with black wraps all across his face. The reason he's so keen on this is to hide all the burn marks across his body. His weapon or weapons of choice are two swords. One is a Katana he merely just took from his victim which he wields in his left hand. His right handed weapon, his main weapon, his far more interesting. It's a straight edged sword however the tip of the blade is flat. It's a very inconvenient considering he can't stab anyone with it so most people refer to it as a worthless weapon. It's called Cal and it's said to be an unbreakable sword. I refer to him as Typhoon generally as I generally give all characters a nickname, or travel name as they're referred to. Typhoon's was actually based on the fact this guy can create a lot of chaos and destruction which led to giving him interesting powers. For an elementalist (people who can use elemental magic without staffs), you 'd be surprised he's a very weak Wind wielder, but it works to his advantage. It lets him move very fast and even "hop" or "grind" in the air. His other power is the ability to turn any part of his body into a plant. He generally uses this to turn his arm into bark to absorb a sword strike. At first glance, he has the personality of an asshole. He's very arrogant and often taunts and teases his enemies to charge right at him. Sometimes even 20 men. He certainly wields the skills to back that cockiness up. He pretty much does whatever he can to get on people's nerves usually with remarks about their failures and even using nicknames such as bird brain. People who've seen Henry could probably recognize this and how little he values humans. Once you go beyond the surface, you realize he's quite a caring character. Through that arrogant attitude, he sometimes gives good advice and often helps the main characters. He even is considered a father figure to one of the cast. There is one key difference that really separates Henry Baldwin from Typhoon. Henry is afraid of others being really hurt and scarred in which he irritates others so that they try to prove him wrong and don't repeat his mistakes. The reason he did that is because he felt pathetic and worthless during the Phenac City raid. He pushed his skills too far and it almost costed him two of his best friends' lives. Typhoon is afraid of getting close to others as he'll only hurt them so he merely accepted his destiny he's supposed to be alone in this world. I can't reveal too much about this one as he has a very, very complicated story. Even the other characters ask him things in which he only gives small bits of information. One of the earliest bits you learn is that he grew up on a farm as a child in which he was very book smart. He and his father had conflicts as he was supposed to inherit the farm, but Jeremy wanted to grow up as an engineer being very interested in technology. That kind of contradicts his current lifestyle since he lives in a forest and only uses steel blades. He also has quite the reputation being an assassin who takes on suicide mission and completes them with ease...until he vanished. Most people presumed him dead. Since I mentioned him I suppose I should mention Citrine's counterpart: Sophia "Wolfy" Wolfgrey Oh boy this character. She came out of a very weird concept. I asked myself how someone who lived far away from society their whole life would act and this character was created. She really pulls out the best of Jeremy despite usually being a commic relief type character. I think it's her personality that truly won me over. And I usually hate characters like this. Wolfy's character design is really quite simple. Grey hair, blue eyes, and pretty much only wears armor. Oddly enough it's male armor which kind of works out for her character. Wolfy's personality is best described as "a man trapped inside a female body." She's very outgoing and just says whatever is on her mind. Usually that ends up being some type of innuendo. She's also not afraid to get into a fight with somebody and will probably beat the crap out of them as she's very, very strong. I suppose my favorite thing is that she despises typical girl things such as makeup, shopping, and anything tight around her body. She also loves food and will do almost anything you want if you bribe her with some. She also will probably give you the impression that she's one very big idiot from all her craziness and dumb things she says or does. That's actually very deceiving. She's actually very bright and gifted which surprises a lot of people. She is very gifted with machinery and figured out high level mechanics in merely a couple months. Why does she act like a big happy idiot then? She lived in a forest her whole life, generally as a wolf (she has morphing abilities). Most people she met were terrified of her especially considering they though she'd maul them at any point. This led her to being very lonely in which she eventually adopted and accepted being a big happy idiot. Nobody fears an overly optimistic idiot and often makes others feel better about themselves. If other people weren't miserable, she wouldn't be miserable even if the whole thing was fake. When it comes to abilities and powers, she does have that wolf form, but she never uses it and ends up losing it. Her blood does give her supernatural strength and very keen precision in which she is actually a sniper and really good at close combat. She sometimes uses other types of weapons, but those are the two main ones she sticks with and they work surprisingly well for her. And since I still have time, I may as well do the one I based my username off of: Commander No seriously, I didn't make a Mary Sue naming it after my username, it's actually the other way around. I didn't know what to call myself and that name had a funny ring to it, but I liked the character so I went with it. This one was made a very, very long time ago. For a story that old and poorly designed, I'm legitimately considering doing a rewrite of it as the storyframe isn't that bad, just needs a ton of polishing and updating to fit in the world better. Anyways, this is about the character. The first thing you might notice is that there's nothing else in the name but Commander. That's not a mistake. He's actually a 17 year old boy from earth trapped in what could basically be described is a fantasy world (that's a story for another day what it really is). He was sent there by some black alien humanoid thing saying "Commander" was his official name now. Turns out he managed to completely forget his name. He even tried looking for any identification and it wasn't there. What's even more interesting is as time goes on, his memories of his life on earth grow hazier and hazier each passing day. He actually ends up finding a guild as I'd describe and they take this whole thing as a complete joke seeing as this kid was a loony idiot and a complete weenie. The best way to describe him is a stereotypical hero who is never afraid to charge into danger. This is countered by his absurd luck usually getting him out of some sticky situations. Like an enemy accidentally missing him and killing another enemy kind of luck. He's not that dumb of a character but often acts on impulse without thinking too deeply. What makes him interesting is seeing him grow into his name, Commander, and really shows what defines a person and a leader. He even questions why he's the leader when there are people far more qualified than he'd ever be since they all have more brains and brawn. The joke is so that they can have a guranteed victory due to his luck, but in reality it's his willingness to fight that raised everyone's spirits and united them.
  16. I just looked back at the field effect and I am wondering...how in the world do you guys think Bennett is going to be easy? It takes him some work to get the field built up but when he does, he basically has bugs that can cut through a metagross like it's a slice of butter. Swarm is a 5 times multiplier without counting stab basically. Let that sink in.You people need to look through the field effects more carefully before judging.
  17. I forgot to mention but as a rule of thumb if you want any events to be changed or altered such as the mystery egg, please send a save file after the Rival battles. I believe the values get reset if you try to do it before then requiring for your save file to be modded again. I'm glancing at the script and yep...it happens right after the Victoria battle.
  18. Original moves are my biggest pet peeve in Pokemon fan games. I hate them so much with a passion. To me it gives off an impression, "I'm not very good at battles so I'm just going to make my own move to make them OP or tough." I highly doubt Ame will be giving custom moves either. Illegal moves sometimes by accident, but never custom. As for the other suggestion, depending on how popular that CoM project turns out, something similar to that will be added. I just don't think it's a good idea for the main game, post game absolutely, but not the main one. People like having a constant game with only a few branches so that if they get stuck they can get help. Something like this could cause more frustration and would add even more time when team designing since it'd require a new trainer for every alteration you want to give them. To be honest the biggest two factors into why the game cannot replace the player is the AI's design and the unfair advantage the player has. The latter can be programed to create an almost perfect environment based on competitive battling however leads cannot be changed so easily. The bigger problem is that the AI switches too little too late and switching is a big thing in competetive battling. Those two factors would make battles so much better but human minds think differently so it'd never replace a human in the end. Gigalith can be turned into a threat though. Actually almost anything can considering I just got my butt handed to me by a Raticate and Pidgeot with really good level 80 Pokemon...like Infernape good. No a literal Pidgeot and not the mega. It might require a bit of time though and trial and error to get to that point. Many of Hardy's options are dual weak to something though...which is the problem.
  19. Leaders at this high of a level require a lot more attention and care. Amaria will be the easiest to make tough so I don't expect her to be soon. Tania is...gonna grind down to the field effect. If it helps Steel types out defensively, she could be right before Amaria. Arienn I'm slightly worried, but Saphira is going to be fine. Hardy is going to be the death of me given his Ace is Gigalith. T-tar I expect on his team but not Mega. Wouldn't surprise me if Lunatone and Solrock were his leads though. I can almost promise he'll be doubles. He'll be a good battle with love and care placed into making him despite having one of the weakest types.
  20. Pokemon is a game that promotes cheating. You get the ability to freely switch mons after a KO, a luxury your opponent doesn't have, an absurd amount of healing items, again your opponent doesn't have, and the ability to freely exchange out mons as you please. Having a difficult game with those factors in place is extreemly difficult especially with luck factors and RNG rolls thrown in. So defining cheating is a gray area when it promotes stuff like that. As for your other questions, I can't give an exact answer. There should be very little incentive to episode hop but people still do it. Usually this is on the creator's hands if excessive use of previous episodes happens. I really recommend it less now that online features are going to come into play since it could possibly corrupt your files permanently a lot easier just by one event changing or you miss a number. I also don't know how it'll function since Reborn City is getting brand new maps to replace the old ones and there's got to be a ton of them. Episode 15 brought some of the best changes to the game with Pokemon having Egg moves on them. TM breeding is still a thing because the game really lacks TMs in which I even admitted and opened a TM shop to bring use of normally worthless mons. Breeding is just the true debate as it's a tedious system that factors so little how difficult the game is but can break it. I'm against episode hopping and consider it a null game so if you break it, you should suffer the consequences of not obeying the rules of the game. Gotta have some risk involved for episode hopping to discourage it after all. Speedhacks is generally regarded as a good thing in which it helps reducing grinding time or long tedious moments. People like to speed through games and ones that drag can turn people off. I haven't seen very much corruption so I generally consider it safe. I don't think it's needed as much as it's used to and is almost worthless in Hardcore since you'll only need to grind if you train like 6 new Pokemon due to the excessive experience. People do it for more than just Pokemon fan games so there's really not much to argue being against it. IVs honestly don't matter and I feel like people are more obsessed with them than they should be. Only IVs that ever matter are speed IVs on fast mons. Offense IVs are nice but the rest is pretty much whether or not you want to hit with 1 more HP of damage or take one less HP of damage. That's a small exaggeration, but it's a stupid trend that should be killed. I can't really judge that well on something that effects the game so little whether it's cheating or not. I suppose I'd say no since I've run practically 0 IV and 31 IV mons before and it wasn't that much different of an experience for me. Adding, no it should be called hacking, mons in might surprise you but I'm actually against that. Everyone uses the argument "You should be able to use everything you want," and I say no you shouldn't. Let's step out of Pokemon for a minute so that I can give you a better explanation. Let's take Final Fantasy I for example. The game may be easy or hard to you but there's so many options. Now let's say you pick a fighter. The game then decides to put the strongest sword in the game in your inventory. This sword is so powerful it can one shot everything including the super boss. But oh you don't have to use it so it's no big deal. Totally doesn't effect the experience at all, right? Hacking mons is a necessary evil, I won't lie about that, as some challenges are impossible without it. It's why hacking is a thing. I just feel the community is way too laxed about how they handle it promoting the above example. Generally the best weapons in a game you have to work for and go out of the way. It does hurt the experience when people are willing to give them away so easily. Those unavailable mons are unavailable for a reason. Yet you people are arguing anyone should be allowed to use them without putting work in. I do believe the philosophy "play however you want" but within the boundaries of the game. There's plenty of options to set the game the way you like even without the "broken OP swords".
  21. I technically have two signature Pokemon with one being more well known than the other. For those that know me well enough this first one shouldn't be a surpries: Zuko is my infamous Male Ninetales I actually use competitively once in a great while. I used one in a nuzlocke once and it just kind of stuck with me. I literally had a male Ninetales nicknamed Zuko. That's actually really rare (a little bit more common than a female eevee). It's often my lead to set up the sun but sometimes I save it for a bigger situation. With Hardcore rising in popularity day after day, it'd be a shame to not mention this guy who's becoming something I'm known for: Abraham the Alakazam. You pretty much were my carry throughout my very first Nuzlocke. If there was an issue, Abraham resolved it. He could face death without even blinking in eye and pretty much one shotted everything or got close. It's a better suit to my personality as I prefer tricks and gimmicks instead of pure raw power.
  22. If I was a fire emblem unit, my luck growth rate would be like 70%

      Cobalt996

If I was an FE unit, I'd have a massive amount of ability slots, good growths, and truly awful caps (eg 30's in RD, -8 modifiers in 13/14)

  23. Baring Skrelp and Grimer, the rest of the pokemon have or will have events. And by that something will go on with his Crobat in the desert. The thing about grimer is that it's like one of the most common mons found in the game and Skrelp is found in the wild (both oddly enough can be fished up). Skuntank was his secondary ace so it makes sense that it'd be used for an event revolving around Corey's story even if it was a common mon. There's just zero reason to include the other two forgettable mons. In hardcore though, Corey got a ton of good mons (8) that could really benefit the player so I'll likely be adding a hunt for the mons event in E16 unless we hit a huge bump then it'll be something for E15 to do. Qwilfish was already in and I forgot to change the Nidorina into a NIdoqueen (though I have the event set up now).
  24. While the latter would not be too difficult to make and I've given Ame permission to use the files for Hardcore, that later option likely ain't happening and especially now. As for changing the save file folder location, I'm going to say no for episode 15, but I'll change it for the episode 16 version. The reason why I'm not changing it now as I didn't expect Hardcore to really be a big thing and that I knew nothing about RPGmaker going into it. I wanted it to be able to connect to Reborn just in case something was really unbalanced such as the Shelly fight so that people could skip fights. Episode 16 will be in a different save as I don't want those files connecting to the server features.
