Mega Luxray Announcement Mega Luxray is here and supercharged. Mega Luxray Type: Electric/Fire Stats: HP: 80 -> 80 Attack: 120 -> 160 (+40) Defense: 79 -> 79 Special Attack: 95 -> 120 (+25) Special Defense: 79 -> 79 Speed: 70 -> 105 (+35) Ability: Combustion New move: Hyper Voice Description Upon Mega Evolution, Luxray becomes charged to such a degree that the vast majority of its fur turns white. In fact, Luxray's electrical capability is so high that it struggles to control electricity, and the heat it produces gives it Fire Type capabilities. Mega Luxray is surely a Pokemon that only the fiercest of trainers attempt to tame. Since Luxray's attacks gain a fiery component to them, Luxray has developed the ability 'Combustion' , which changes all Normal Type moves into Fire Type moves and gives them a 30% boost (blah blah Pixilate/Aerialate/Refrigerate stfu). Here are a couple competitive sets: Set 1 Luxray @ Luxrite Ability: Combustion 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Spe Jolly / Adamant nature - Quick Attack - Return/Frustration - Wild Charge - Ice Fang Luxray's Combustion Quick Attack gives Luxray Fire priority, which is an obvious counter to Scizor's got Bullet Punch. Return/Frustration exchanges priority for a more powerful STAB attack. Wild Charge is general physical STAB attack that acts in a high-risk, high-reward manner. Electric/Fire typing attracts Ground types like a magnet, hence the use of Ice Fang. Set 2 Luxray @ Luxrite Ability: Combustion 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid / Modest Nature - Hyper Voice - Thunderbolt - Volt Switch - Hidden Power [ice] Mega Luxray is clear intimidate bait - but its stats can counteract this. Although not as powerful, Luxray can run a Special set. Luxray's Combustion Hyper Voice provides a boosted Fire STAB, with Thunderbolt and Volt Switch for Electric STABs and a safe escape. HP Ice provides the same coverage for Ground types as Ice Fang does for the physical set. I hope you like this new Mega Evolution - a lot of thought has been put into it. I personally thought it would get a dark typing but I like the fire/electric mix attacker. will be interesting to see how this plays out. Also where do you get the drawing for your mega evolutions? VKR Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) I really like the design and the attack and special attack sets but I was thinking that it would just have more speed and no special attack gains because there is some stuff that can still outspeed it and exploit its no defensive gains and more weaknesses. But maybe it will be tough to deal with. Just speculating. Second thoughts: Maybe it's faster than I first thought. But this battle might be easier for anyone with a choice scarf. VKR Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Can't really imagine that we'll be getting a Luxrite until we beat the last gym. It's still crazy strong despite what I said about its weaknesses before, assuming that we may have to battle against one at some point.

Atlas105 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I kinda like it. I'm not too fond of that weird spikey-ring thing it has on it's back, but it still looks really good. You also made it kinda unique since most luxray mega's give it the dark typing that it deserves.

Monochrome_Complex Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 This looks like Solgeo's little cousin. But that's NOT a bad thing, because it looks badass. It's also a unique take on Mega lux, as most people just do the obvious and make it dark. But priority quick attack is pretty cool.

Jmanultrax1 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Mega luxray is a nice choice. The fire type upon mega evolving is a nice type, because everyone expected it to be electric/dark. a whole mess Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Early on in the game I picked up a budew and decided to use it on my team because I have never had any experience with a roselia/roserade before.Also, I figured having a poison-type would help for countering fairy-types. Some extra info: I just defeated the second gym, the rest of my team is growlithe, marshtomp, ursaring, mightyena, and electabuzz. So my question is: Is/will there ever be a Shiny Stone in the game or am I just wasting my time? If there is no Shiny Stone, any suggestions as to what grass type I can find to replace roselia? Keep in mind, you probably want to not evolve Roselia until Lv 50 so it can learn Petal Dance. If you want to have Roserade before the 4th gym you can just grind against any of those Audino breeders and then use Reverse Candies to level it down again.
