  1. Rebellion and Jealousy are appropriate themes for Erin. She was trapped in the Unown dimension but rather than succumb to Allen and Alice's games with the Unown and she escaped, without the aid of the Puppet Master. Then changed her name (her original name is Eriana) and hair color. Later she refused to acquiesce to her non-consensual entry into the Grand Dream Tournament and made a public scene of disqualifying herself instead of just not showing up. All acts of rebellion. She is the one to suggest to Melia that Jenner's encouragement for her to become a gym leader was an act of genuine love since the notes for 'Project Rapture' never mentioned that as part of the plan. Then she goes onto explain that she's always beena lone, even Souta never paid her much attention. I believe she also at times seemed somewhat resentful of Aelita and the attention she was receiving from Souta as well as the responsibility that fell on her. This could be jealousy.
  2. Granted I'm no expert, Isiah got the illness in his 40's and Isha got it at exactly the same age. Can a genetic illness remain dormant for over 40-years and be that age specific?
  3. Mine (also shiny hunted) has the same moveset, I think that's normal.
  4. If you kept the Magma Stone a mysterious character should have met you inside the Valor Mountain entrance with the Emotion Powder which is necessary to progress through the mountain and a prompt to the Kyogre event. I'm a first time player as well and I did the Kyogre event but from what I've gathered I believe it's optional. It's just some relationship points and later access to a Ralts. Not doing it shouldn't hinder the plot's progress. You don't need to start the entire game over but it seems you will need to redo the Valor Mountain event or at least the Geara/Zetta battle (my condolences, that battle is one of the worst). You need to load a backup save file that is at the needed point. This guide is specific to Reborn but can be applied to Rejuv as well just go into the Rejuv folder instead of Reborn.
  5. The amulet S&T gave the PC and Melia is the reason we were able to exist in that timeline. That means that either there was another version of the PC out there or the PC was not born as Aelita wasn't. Therefore my best guess is that we removed it from our person after Amber left the room in a sort of suicide. Or Melanie could have taken it from us.
  6. Starting with Chimchar was beneficial to this battle, despite Leavanny healing repeatedly and needing some myself I destroyed it with Monferno's Flame Wheel. In your case that Noibat is your best option. You can also catch a Fletchling in Oceana Pier and evolve it.
  7. This is my belief as well, what little behavior of theirs we are aware of matches with Crescent's which is the reason along with their mysterious impersonation routine that I am disputing the theory that they are gym leaders. The only thing that doesn't add up is that C&C also impersonated Aelita and Venom in the tournament or so is suggested when Risa tells Aelita that she saw them there when it's indisputable that neither were anywhere near it. Aelita was at the Spring of Preservation and Venom was in the hospital incased in stone (and according to Risa the Venom at the tournament was NOT acting herself). I don't see a reason Crescent would require that Aelita and Venom appear to have competed. Venom might not have been an intended victim of stoning but it was made very public the same as Talon and Aelita wasn't a stoning victim at all nor an intended target. Considering this game already has one false and one corrupt gym leader (Angie and Flora) it's not outside the realm of possibility but if C&C are working for Crescent, even acting as false gym leaders would be going against her plan since she suggestively doesn't want gym leaders available for the PC to defeat. Our group's less than legal entry into the tournament feels more like a S&T move especially since an unofficial gym battle was conveniently inserted into it which has me wondering suddenly if perhaps C&C are working both sides.
  8. This is a well conceived theory. Nancy does have the profile of a Fairy-type gym leader including the fact that she's not human as many characters in fairytales are not. She can somewhat be equated to Pinocchio having been a living doll/puppet/golem of sorts. It could be the reason we were headed to the Aevium region on the S.S Oceana. Perhaps it was her attempt to hide from Team Xen and/or establish herself as an individual as Jenner wanted for Melia and what the battle with Lingering Regret Nancy represented despite that she wasn't real, that we were supposed to have battled her as a league challenger. It's quite convenient that Crescent who is eliminating gym leaders from the PC's access was on the S.S Oceana and working with Nancy. Could she have made Nancy give herself over to Team Xen as her first gym leader elimination in exchange for protecting the PC? Nancy mentions something to Crescent about experiencing fear for the first time despite knowing that she wasn't supposed to which Crescent chastised her for as though both parties knew the Team Xen attack was coming. I disagree, the ultimate twist would be--- Adrest who is someone connected to the PC, possibly a past life was the champion or the PC themselves is the champion and doesn't remember! Robo-Amanda revealed that contrary to what it seems this was in fact NOT the PC's first time in the Aevium region and it's established that the PC has repressed memories. This could be in reference to either the PC's possible past life as Adrest or amnesia which we learn that a certain deranged doctor can create. A dead or amnesiac champion would most certainly be or appear to be an inactive one. To give a quick two cents on this subject though it is off-topic, while it's true that Ame's character is undeveloped, most of the champion characters are. I don't feel anything is wrong with Ame's character's minimal role as the champion and league coordinator. Jan's is much the same. It's a role that doesn't require development to serve it's purpose. Though I would like to know how Jan doesn't seem to notice that his sister was replaced by a robot. Is he perhaps in on the whole scheme? He did let the Xen grunt go from the holding cell in the Forest Restoration Help Quest. That would be a pretty brilliant twist. Why would gym leaders go around impersonating other people including the PC and Nancy? I really want to know what the deal is with those two.
  9. Yes. There are NO shiny locks in this game or any of the others on this site. My gift Slyveon, Pichu, Charizard, Joltik, Venusaur, Torterra and both gift Eevees are all shiny. I'm currently working on the gift Fenneken.
  10. Since it seems that you don't have a fighting mon as I did (Infernape), you could teach Rock Smash to either Geodude and evolve it into a Graveler or Mighteyna to counter Persian. Clefable has an counter for both poison and steel (Psychic and Flamethrower) but Dugtrio are VERY fast so out speeding it with Alolan Dugtrio is probably your best option. As someone mentioned there is a breeder on the Xen battleship that can be used for fast grinding. I could be remembering wrong but I don't believe that option is available until you go to the Secret Shore to find Crawli.
  11. Terra tells us two different backstories and both are those of the protagonists of Batman and Star Wars (Bruce Wayne and Luke Skywalker) because she seems to be quite a bit unhinged. Her actual backstory is told by DJ Archlight (I believe I'm remembering his name correctly, it's been a while since I completed ep18) in the profiles TV segment prior to fighting her (as can all the gym leaders' backstories). I haven't met the couple you're referring to but what you describe lines up with Terra's backstory as told by DJ Archlight. The reason for her dramatic change in personality, however, remains unclear. At first I thought the Terra we met and fought might not be the real one but some form of humanoid computer program clone like Clu in Tron Legacy except a massively glitched one or perhaps a virus. The fact that she is able to transcend into a computer, manipulate (more specifically screw up) the realm and be deleted adds up with this. This could also be the mysterious reason Lin refused to fire her from Team Meteor despite numerous complaints that she breaks more things than she fixes (I believe this is a tidbit you get from Taka in Tourmaline Desert if you go the Reshiram route). I haven't renounced that theory per say but am not quite as convinced anymore and if this couple is indeed Terra's parents and they mention her joining the circus that is just another contradiction to consider on top of the PC also transcending into the computer and Samson attempting to un-delete Terra.
  12. Controller compatibility is something RGSS as a whole needs. I use JoytoKey as well and it can be quite a pain in the ass. If I move the controller or set it down just the wrong way it cuts out. Either unplugging it from the laptop or opening and closing the lid activates it again. Even more bothersome sometimes when I close my laptop and reopen it to move between the living room and my bedroom the buttons can reassign themselves. Though, I've noticed this mostly with Phoenix Rising and Insurgence I've experienced it with Rejuvenation and Empire as well. In Reborn as I've recently gotten back into it to complete some side quests, I've had the new experience of it cutting out mid-play (i.e mid-battle). You get what you pay for though and I am using the free version of JoytoKey and ultimately it's worth it, the controller is much easier on my hands than using the keyboard.
  13. I thought I recalled reading something a while ago about a trade for it in Agate City. Thank you.
  14. I hope it's alright to make an inquiry here; how do I get Oshawatt having started with Charmander and joined the Aqua gang so received Litten from the job application quest? Considering the starter egg quest and that I happened upon what the prize is for completing it via Google establishing that completion of that quest is currently possible there must be alternate access to the starter not received from the job application quest.
  15. Fair warning about the Ep 18 follower mod: Fly's overworld function remains locked after obtaining the Suspension Badge (the badge required to unlock it). This is quite far into the game but soft locks it so you'll have to discontinue using the mod to progress. The follower mod is now out of date as there have been multiple updates to ep18 since the most recent version of the mod.
  16. So something like the green text vs red text in Desolation? I quite like that mechanic. Will V13 have a follower mod/version? I've used it for older versions of both Reborn and Rejuv and quite enjoy it.
  17. I assume that by 'legacy' you're referring to the sprite prior to V11. As that sprite is unavailable in V12 hence the conversion I believe to resume using it, the sprite files would need to be copied and pasted from the V10 or prior Characters folder into the V12 Characters folder. The boxes in the past and GDC penthouse just covert a single PC between 2 possible outfits.
  18. When you give the stone to Cera a bit of extra work is required to trigger the Kyogre event. You need to progress in Valor Mountain until Saki gives you Magma Drift then leave again through Crawli's gym and re-enter through the front or something like that. I didn't hand over the magma stone so didn't have to do it.
  19. After the events of Hiyoshi City (Rift Gardevoir) and battling Ren in the present, talk to Damien. He'll (reluctantly) fly you to route 9 and then give you the Fly HM. It's Waterfall that doesn't exist as of V12. As for changing difficulty levels I've read that can only be done before the first badge. I'm fine with Normal Mode but have talked to Mr. Luck on route 7 just for fun and he doesn't repeat the offer. So
  20. Point accepted. I don't believe that's overthinking at all but quite sensible. Together the 4 of them formed the Archetype symbol of Arceus and Arceus is one of four fragments that were split from a mighty deity. This further supports my theory that the 4 siblings are all one of the 4 lights in the prophecy with Melia representing and the PC and Aelita are 2 more with the 4th still unknown. Most of the gym leaders are unavailable and we've witnessed the reasons behind it. - Adam is with us on our mission to the Pyramid or dealing with his returning memories. - Aelita drove Texan out of Sheridan and is also with us on the Pyramid mission leaving Sheridan without a leader. Or else she's waiting her turn to bathe in the Spring of Rejuvenation. - Ryland is either unconscious in Flora's lab or guarding the top of the Pyramid. - Valarie had her memories so warped that she doesn't remember she's a gym leader. She thinks she's a reporter. - Saki is legitimately MIA as we haven't seen or heard from her since Valor Mountain and don't know what happened to her after the route 7 attack. - Flora is either planting bombs under the ballroom, controlling Ryland or was arrested. - Florin is NOT chilling in his gym, Flora has him captive and incapacitated. Talon is stone and Souta isn't his official substitute, he exclusively stepped into the position for us. - The unnamed Dark-type gym leader, Amber's father left and apparently hasn't been replaced. Lavender is in the hospital being prepared to be Isha's next vessel and as with Souta, the Puppet Master exclusively substituted for our benefit. - The Fairy-type gym leader as of V12 has neither been introduced or identified. Suggestively one doesn't even exist. - Amber is in GDC and served as the MC for the tournament. After the bomb scare she might have opted to spend time with Tesla. As for Specter, Kreiss and the new Normal-type leader in Neverwinter, perhaps they prefer to wait for the rest of the gym leaders to return to their gyms. Granted, 5 badges isn't even half the full set in this game and it's not legit for a Pokemon without a trainer to participate in the league, both Aya and Crawli were just willing to humor Goomink out of respect for us. Erik is leading the Garbodar restoration if you took the Weird Dairy and is probably worried about Saki as illustrated by his dedication to the Sakitron. Welp, guess I'm crazier, I did it after completing the main story content of V12. I had no idea this quest existed during the Zone Zero/pyramid event.
  21. I've just evolved my Shiny Pawnard into a Bisharp and the back sprite appears to have been neglected as it has a white background. Just thought I should bring that to the devs' attention.
  22. Shit, on the subject of Melia I just came up with something else. Before I noticed that there is separate thread for theories, I posted the following in the spoilers thread: Remember in the hospital in Zone Zero there is a file on Anathea that doesn't seem to add up with the one we've met, described as dark haired and mother to 4 children. What if Erin, Alice and Allen are the other 3 children? For whatever reason Alice, Allen and apparently Erin (though she escaped) were trapped in the unknown dimension by their father who manipulated Alice into maintaining the others which is something that screams Indriad and as I theorized above, Melia is Maria reincarnated after Maria was sacrificed. Indriad could have trapped the other 3 to get them out of the way for Maria's sacrifice. As for the dark hair, she bleached or something I guess? It's not a perfect theory but I couldn't help noticing how well the 4 seem to fit with Anathea allegedly having 3 children that don't appear to exist outside this single medical file.
  23. That's not entirely crazy. The light prophecy states that 4 lights not born of man will save the world and create a paradise. The event at the pyramid seemed to reveal that these lights are Melia (whom if you choose to 'do nothing' brings the ruined present back to life), Erin, Allen and Alice but it is possible that because all of them are siblings, they are collectively a single light or although all of them have the power of light Melia's is the strongest so it's just her and the PC and Aelita are two more. I'm unsure who the 4th would be. The exact circumstances of the PC's birth are unknown but we were raised by a doll and as previously discussed there is strong evidence to suggest that we are a reincarnation of Adrest and we've seen first hand how reincarnation occurs in this universe, it's not a birth but a manifestation. If the PC is a light and Crescent wants us to remain dormant or in a weakened state than that tracks with her wanting us to ditch our friends, that would be an attempt to separate us from the other lights. FYI, Crescent can be found in Nightmare City from the very first visit. I don't believe that she's dead and if she can still be found in NC after her alleged death that is just confirmation to me. It's possible that she could be in a coma but a coma is not dead...not legally at least.
  24. In crime shows I've seen serial killers keep pictures of their intended or previous victims. You could be right, again, we don't know what Crescent's endgame is. I'm just saying pictures don't always indicate sentimentality.
  25. At the moment, I'm going with reincarnation. The PC experiences moments of seemingly being able to internally communicate with Adrest and recalling his memories. These are the some of the same patterns of behavior as Aelita with Vivian and Taelia. That right there is a lot of the back and forth behavior that has me conflicted. On the one hand, she manipulated Ren and Nim/Lorna into harming people with lies (obviously Nim more than Ren but still) and tried to prevent Melia from joining S&T. Melia held our entrapment in the ruined present against S&T and regretted not listening to Crescent but I disagree with that and felt she had missed their intention. Madame X suggests that S&T must have ensured Melia and the PC's misplaced existence in the ruined present either to force us to reap what we sewed or expecting us to fix it. I 100% believe it was both and a means of showing Melia the consequences of choosing the one over the many. This is foreshadowed when S&T presented her with the hypothetical scenario that Venom's survival from her stone stasis would mean mass casualties and her refusal to take the choice seriously. S&T might be neutral and uncompassionate beings who view people as disposable but clearly act in the best interest of the universe and humanity as a whole species with full understanding of what that means. Madame X seems to trust them as do I. At the same time, Crescent allegedly died trying to save Braxien and Co from Red head---or according to what I've noticed here in this thread it seems her name is Freya on route 7. She did also save Dranna, the Mewtwo that Madalis had turned Shadow. I concur with not giving her the credit for our "resurrection" on Mount Valor. Once Melia revealed the Interceptor's abilities I put the same pieces together that she did. The same can perhaps be said of when we escaped the explosion in the banquet room on the S.S Oceana and the S.S Oceana period. Our mom might have expected Crescent to get us out but that doesn't mean that she did. Even Madame X didn't know we were the Interceptor until we survived Yvetle in the ruined Present so perhaps our mom didn't either. I think Crescent might be a mercenary. The only thing she truly seems to care about is getting the outcome that she benefits most from and just favors us because of our role in achieving that outcome. The true question, is what exactly that outcome is but I'm assuming that because we don't get the choice to heed her advice to ditch our friends, our character had made the choice for themselves not to trust her and whatever her plan is. Which I happen to be fine with.
