  1. Nidoqueen/king actually don't mind the lack of TMs. They get Earth Power naturally and Sludge Wave pretty early, queen gets Superpower, Toxic Spikes and Crunch naturally, and Flamethrower and Surf are very viable options. Thunderbolt is also available now actually, just before Hardy. For Sharpedo, I personally like a set of Waterfall/Crunch/Ice Fang/Destiny Bond, but Poison Fang, Psychic Fangs, Protect and Aqua Jet are good options too. As an aside, I'm gonna go against the grain here since people are mentioning this: I wouldn't say Arcanine is a wasted slot with Blaziken. They perform very different roles and Arcanine is generally just better in doubles. (edit for clarity: not saying it should be a main member of the team but it's worth swapping in sometimes still)
  2. Male Meowstic is one of the best support 'mons in Reborn (prankster dual screens + misty terrain + fake out/psychic) and goes especially well with Blaziken, but if you end up wanting something more offensive you can evolve that Eevee into an Espeon, wait for Abra, or just keep Starmie around. They all need TMs for screens (except Abra who gets Reflect naturally) but are otherwise great alternative choices with much better special attack and a base speed increase of 6, 16 and 11 respectively. I'd recommend adding in Durant or Escavalier rather than Klinklang. Better typings, better moves, hit like monster trucks, and the former is super fast while the latter is bulky and reliable throughout a fight. If you end up replacing Starmie and keeping Meowstic, you'll want something that can handle ground types, since your team right now is bad enough against them with Starmie, let alone if you're gonna add one or more Steel types. Gogoat is pretty good and available very soon after Noel, and that Lotad you have in your box will put in work as long as you don't evolve it too early and miss out on moves like Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Knock Off and Hydro Pump.
  3. Depends. Rhyperior is practically invincible physically, even tanking weaker physical Grass and Water moves from full health with Solid Rock, or supporting teammates like Gyarados in Doubles with Lightning Rod. It also hits a bit harder than Mamoswine with stronger moves and higher Attack, but has a worse STAB combo and thus needs to dedicate all its moveslots to attacking, and its low speed means anything that threatens it forces it out. Mamoswine has more freedom with its moveslots since it only misses out on Shedinja, Araquanid and Golisopod, and it's also much faster which allows it to nuke certain things that threaten it before they can move. Good options, apart from the obligatory Icicle Crash and Earthquake, include Stealth Rock, Superpower, Ice Shard, and Bulldoze/Rock Tomb (Stealth Rock and Superpower I believe you don't get yet but will fairly soon). Also worth noting, since you said you've just beat Terra, that Mamoswine has an overall better matchup against the upcoming leaders aside from Hardy.
  4. A physical ground type like Dugtrio or Sandslash will do massive damage before it gets its first attack, and after that you just need to react to what type Protean shifts it to and nail it with SE attacks from the rest of your team (you can cover every type it switches to - Ground, Poison, Water, Electric). You're mostly struggling because your team is primarily special attackers - PULSE Muk has special bulk eclipsing Blissey's, so you basically have to set up to +6 beforehand to do any damage with special attackers.
  5. You're forced to join at least one of them at some point (though it's a lot later down the line from when you CAN join them). Which one you choose will alter when you get certain items (Choice Band/Specs, Sunny Day/Rain Dance) and Pokemon (Houndour/Carvahna, Litten/Oshawatt?, Ponyta/Buizel) (none of these become unobtainable).
  6. Beldum - You need to slot a Data Chip in the Wasteland Hideout healing station (AFTER city restoration, too, which means you have to return to the area, which is otherwise seemingly unchanged), white out or use Teleport while riding a Tauros, and bring it to the previously inaccessible cave along the secret passage to Squirtle. You then have 9 turns to catch a Pokemon with a catch rate of 3, barring Sleep, Paralysis, Ghost-types etc. EDIT: Ninja'd EDIT 2: Zangoose, pre-restoration. You have to find it at four different locations during specific weather and time which all unlock at different points in the story. You're not unlikely to learn of its existence, but to actually encounter it you basically have to google how to find it.
  7. Could only happen on Oricorio, since Geodude goes boom and everything else has Charge Beam. And Oricorio has a strong, non-resisted high-crit move. Probably wouldn't go well
  8. Step 1: evolve Poochyena Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit You can also level up your Goldeen, since it forces stuff to stop using Charge Beam which is the biggest threat in this gym. Roselia will absolutely destroy this gym if you grind out Budew's happiness; you can get a rose incense from a lady north of the Pokemon Center, then bring it to the far north of the area (just past the training spot above) and you should be able to grab the Budew on the upper ledge (unless it's raining, then it won't appear at all). Roserade is also just an awesome 'mon period so it's not a bad investment in general (though there's a case to wait a few gyms so you can breed one with Extrasensory and/or Spikes).
  9. 1. Sirius 2. Dr. Connal 3. Elias I'm not entirely convinced Lin is dying in E19 but I could (and probably will) be wrong
  10. Lucario needs more work put into it but has a LOT of good things going for it, the biggest of which is Swords Dance + Extreme Speed, a combo exclusive to Lucario (until we get legendaries that is) that tears through teams like melted butter. Excadrill needs Sand to get that sweeping potential, but with just Mold Breaker it's still an excellent 'mon that can outright carry certain fights. I will say though: I wouldn't consider Metagross + Gardevoir "redundant," or at least it isn't really an issue. Incineroar eats Ghosts for breakfast and Metagross really doesn't need Psychic STAB; its set is literally just Meteor Mash + Imagination. Excadrill or Lucario are probably still superior choices, just some food for thought is all.
  11. Lead with an Espurr from the neighboring alleyways alongside Camerupt. Click Fake Out and Lava Plume and watch things burn. Add Onix's Stealth Rock and train up your Fearow or Ponyta and you're golden. Alternatively, you should be able to win with your current 'mons. Onix leads with Stealth Rock of course, and lead Spritzee alongside it. Start setting up Calm Mind while your teammates (train up Ponyta and Fearow) cover it. Once you're at +4 or so you're pretty much unstoppable, and not much on her team can effectively kill Spritzee, basically just watch for Anorith's Rock Slide. (Aromatisse is also a really good 'mon in general so keep it around after the battle with a set of Moonblast/Psychic/Misty Terrain/Calm Mind)
  12. You can get Alolan Golem by this point which is a huuuuuuge upgrade over its Kantonian counterpart, Double-Edge or even just Strength hit insanely hard with Galvanize and even Thunder Punch is fine if you want to keep Sturdy. Alolan Golem also has the benefit of phasing out Ampharos, allowing you to pack more answers to Ground types which decimate your team. Conveniently, you have a Seismitoad in your rotation which serves that purpose and lets you keep your Ground type. I'd recommend your full set look something like Stone Edge, your Electric STAB of choice (Strength/Facade/Double-Edge/Thunder Punch), and then any 2 of Counter, Explosion, Steamroller, Rock Blast, Rock Polish and Stealth Rock. I personally ran Stone Edge/Double-Edge/Rock Blast/Explosion on mine.
  13. Not really for Nidoran, by the time it starts to get good you can find it in the wild and also Nidorina is an option. Shinx on the other hand is a beast from the start and by the time it falls off it gets... another use, as part of a sidequest. Also it's the only place to get Shinx soooooooo also worth noting that you can pick up enough free coins for a Slugma to meme on Florinia
  14. this is gonna consider when you can get 'mons (starter picks/mystery egg don't count), how much effort you need to put into training them, and their longevity so like, rip azumarill, blaziken etc also they're gonna be in order, left best right less best Normal - Diggersby, Snorlax, Lopunny (seriously don't sleep on this thing) Fighting - Heracross, Lucario, Medicham Flying - Honchkrow, Crobat, Noivern Poison - Salazzle (get up Corrosive field and this thing just wins, it's one-dimensional but also so stupidly good), Nidoking/Nidoqueen, Roserade Ground - Flygon, Excadrill, Nidoking/Nidoqueen Rock - Archeops (literally just better Aero and it's available way earlier), Tyrantrum, Rhyperior Bug - Heracross, Vivillon, Galvantula Ghost - Gourgeist, Chandelure, Mismagius (Cofagrigus is the best ghost in the game but it's basically useless until Samson and takes a lot of effort both to train and use so I axed it) Steel - Magnezone, Durant, Metagross Fire - Salazzle, Arcanine, Darmanitan Water - Sharpedo, Gyarados, Ludicolo Grass - Roserade, Lilligant, Amoongus Electric - Rotom, Magnezone, A-Raichu Psychic - Meowstic-M, Jynx, Alakazam Ice - Mamoswine, Jynx, A-Ninetales Dragon - Flygon, Noivern, Dragonite Dark - Honchkrow, Sharpedo, Krookodile Fairy - Sylveon, Ribombee, Aromatisse Also best starters are Blaziken, Incineroar, Primarina
  15. Kingdra, Sharpedo (mega or not), Gyarados, Swampert and Azumarill are probably the top 5 Water 'mons in no particular order. Primarina, Rotom-W, Ludicolo and Huntail/Gorebyss (shell smash + baton pass lol) are all honorable mentions. Greninja, Milotic and Empoleon are also very good. There's a lot more but these are your best options overall.
  16. Garchomp doesn't really have much reason to run 2 Dragon moves or to run Roar at all, I'd give it Flamethrower (or Fire Fang, but it's not as effective against the stuff you generally want Fire moves for, like Tangrowth and Skarmory) and Rock Slide or Iron Head/Poison Jab. Silvally probably shouldn't be running Parting Shot and Swords Dance at the same time? Both are useful but they contradict each other, one encourages you to pivot constantly and the other encourages you to stay in and sweep. Tbh there's so many better sweepers than Silvally, I'd highly recommend replacing Swords Dance with either Thunder Wave or additional coverage and using Silvally as an adaptable, defensive pivot that brings in stronger 'mons with type advantages. What's Ferrothorn's 4th move? Curse is ideal, Protect works also, either way I'd replace Iron Head with Gyro Ball but that's personal preference due to PP issues. Manectric could run Overheat, Toxic or Light Screen instead of Charge, or if you have a good type Hidden Power (Grass is probably ideal in the specific case of Manectric; Ice and Water are also excellent). I'd also highly recommend finding the 2 (3 if you revert to an older version and get one from the event Absol, and infinite with an exploit involving Thief, Fling and Recycle) Life Orbs in Reborn, one for Greninja and the other for Garchomp, the power difference is incredible and will make these 2 put in so much more work. It's not as big a deal since you're using Silvally and can plop on a Fairy or Poison Memory once in a while, but your team is overall very weak to Fighting (especially if you're gonna use Gigalith) and although you're well past the specialists of that type it's still very common both as coverage and STAB. Having something like a Togekiss or Cofagrigus around to swap in could be a good idea. For Togekiss I'd run something like Air Slash/Flamethrower or Aura Sphere/Wish or Roost/literally anything, and for Cofagrigus an OTR set with Shadow Ball/Trick Room/Nasty Plot and whatever coverage you need at the time (Grass Knot, Psychic and Hidden Power Fighting) works wonders.
  17. They're not at all comparable, so there isn't really a clear way to say one's better than the other? It depends, do you want an incredible doubles 'mon with worth as a bulky attacker in singles, or do you want a devastating sweeper that tears bulky teams apart but struggles with poor type matchups due to Eruption being its only realistic gimmick? Personally I'd lean towards Typhlosion here because your Arcanine is lacking both Close Combat and Morning Sun (Morning Sun is essential for bulkier EV spreads while Close Combat is just a really good coverage move for Rock types and bulky Normals) and (without mods) you can't relearn those, you'd need to breed a new one. Typhlosion on the other hand just needs Eruption, Flamethrower and a favorable Hidden Power type (Grass, Ground, Water or Electric) and you're good to go. (of course you can always keep both but then you need to maintain a rotation)
  18. Klang is very strong in this gym with the 50% boost to Gear Grind, even taking down Mimikyu in just 1 turn if its Attack is high enough. Emolga doesn't do a whole lot here without Discharge, which would require severe overleveling, and therefore a lot of grinding, to get. Consider an Electric type with better access to it like Manectric or Raichu. If you bring Rapidash one level above the cap and then de-level it with a Common Candy, you can have Fire Blast already, which will much more easily deal with Shade's Doublade and Dhelmise.
  19. Espeon isn't a bad choice either, trading Meowstic's priority dual screens and Misty Terrain for higher Speed and far higher Special Attack, and an equally good ability in Magic Bounce. Jolteon is an option but imo Raichu and Alolan Raichu are better options. Sylveon is one of the best fairies in the game, but you might not want to give up Mawile's steel typing until after the next couple of leaders. If you decide to go with Umbreon, the above Curse set is good (though you should seriously consider Baton Pass), or you can lean fully into its bulk: Foul Play is from a tutor later in the game so Payback is your attacking move of choice, Wish is your best option for a healing move since Moonlight is based on weather and has low PP, and your other two moves should be some combination of Charm, Baby-Doll Eyes, Yawn, Detect, Protect, Taunt and Toxic (the latter three being available later as TMs). Yawn and Detect are egg moves so if you want them and also want to keep the shininess, there's a mod that lets you relearn egg moves from the move relearner.
  20. If you have access to Florinia, you have access to a rooftop in the Onyx ward with Bellsprout, Tranquill, Venonat etc. all just shy of level 20 to grind against. Numel gets Lava Plume at 22 and Trubbish will do a lot more damage with a few levels under its belt, so you'll just need to power through Cradily. A Mankey from the slums can do it pretty effortlessly, or you can hope for a burn on Lava Plume and stall it out.
  21. I've used a variation of this strat for Ciel on some runs where I couldn't be bothered to raise a rotation and didn't have the tools to win normally. Crobat with Cross Poison, Acrobatics, Double Team and Substitute shuts down her entire team, so it turns into a "can you kill Gliscor and does Noivern miss Boomburst" battle. It feels awful so I tend to avoid it whenever possible, but whatever works I guess.
  22. If you want to make Salazzle an absolute monster, grab something with Mist or Misty Terrain, another 'mon with Poisinium Z and a damage-dealing Poison move, and then ensure that Salazzle has Corrosion and Venoshock. You can set up Corrosive Mist terrain with Misty Terrain + Acid Downpour and that gives 'mons with Corrosion a 50% special attack boost, activates Venoshock and boosts Fire moves' power by 50%. If you want to pull this combo off with just 2 'mons, Quagsire gets Mist and Sludge Wave and has the bulk to live 2 turns properly EV'd against pretty much anything without grass coverage. Alternatively, just give Salazzle the Poisinium Z. (If you do this, DO NOT use Heat Wave on Salazzle, as that will combust the field. Use Flamethrower, and once it becomes available consider Fire Blast if you feel you need even more power). Other than that, not much to say that FriarTruck didn't. The Knock Off tutor should be available by now which Scrafty could make use of instead of Crunch, as pretty much every major trainer at this point is using items. Scolipede can run Rock Slide over Protect once it becomes available if you want it to do a bit more work on its own, and Sceptile could use Substitute + Liechi Berry instead of Focus Sash.
  23. Yes, you can still find it after restoring the city. It's a rare encounter, so give it some time.
  24. Trick Room has something like -4 priority and Prankster only gives +1, so Trick Room Prankster doesn't really work unfortunately.
  25. You could probably win with what you have now, actually, although it would certainly be easier to just grab a Gigalith and use Trick Room, and you'd need quite a bit of luck on your side. Sylveon gets Light Screen and Misty Terrain, allowing you to both overwrite the field to take away Charlotte's offensive boosts and give your team boosted special defense for most of the battle. From there you can send in Sharpedo with an Air Balloon and let it keep grabbing Speed Boost turns while Donphan spams Earthquake. Also, if you haven't already been doing so, make sure to EV train. Starting at Charlotte, all gym leaders and most other major opponents have max IVs and proper EV training, so if you want to keep up statistically you'll need to EV train yourself. It's far from impossible to beat the game without it but it'll be a lot tougher.
