  1. It could be a slightly different save location due to the new computer. Just create a save on the new computer, find where it's located, and then put your old save (titled 'Game') there (can delete the new file before just to make sure).
  2. From what I can tell, the most blatant/straight-forward mecha reference in Fantasy Maiden Wars:

They barely even bothered changing the theme........I don't even think they mixed in a Touhou theme at all in this one (unlike every other character theme.......except maybe Rai'sen's theme).

Better (more recent) version with voice, but not a direct comparison.

  3. To add one more that no one has mentioned yet (but just got an update in Beta 13) is Pokemon Adventures--Red Chapter, a romhack based on Red's role in the Pokemon Adventures manga. I can't confirm how good everything is, but it's at least interesting.
  4. Heal Ghost, Hurt Dragon Water: 4 Grass: 28 Dragon: 10 Electric: 15 Steel: 11 Fire: 11 Ground: 21 Ice: 24 Fight: 19 Normal: 16 Ghost: 19 Dark: 17 Bug: 26 Flying: 13 Rock: 20 Poison: 20 Psychic: 14
  5. As long as you can take losing a heart scale, why bother with the level up method? There are infinite opportunities for more Heart Scales
  6. Depends on 1) which part of the game you are in (how reasonable is getting to lvl 75), 2) how many heart scales you have left, and 3) your level of motivation. @ArcherEric Boomburst on Noivern is one of those LVl 1 moves that can be learned via move relearner immediately upon evolution.
  7. If this is like ICSW's Hurt/Heal threads, it didn't have to be a full 24 hours between votes as long as 1) it was a different day than your last vote according to your time zone and b ) it was a reasonable gap (say at least 16 hours between them).
  8. So the Pokemon Adventure- Red Chapter romhack just updated with a new version (after an extended hiatus) and from the new screenshots it looks like there have been a number of changes, both cosmetically and with adding new content.  Also seems to have updated the 'future content' advertising somewhat.

Not sure what to think, since I never got very far in it to begin with.  https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=298920

It seems most of the links on Nicoblog still work.  Solidfiles at least downloaded fine.

  10. I got to the final updated chapter, and it turns out that that the translator also was able to match up the dialogue in subtitle form (as annotations).  With the unique music tracks and sound effects, I agree with them that this chapter is much better in video form than in written.  Maybe if this version of Kioshi and Satori were canon, I would actually like their canon selves.

Aside from creating a more relatable (??) version of both characters, I have to give props to the FMW team yet again for twisting around the traditional SRW mechanics in creative ways for this stage, even if much of it was an interactive cutscene in all honesty.

Of odd/special note, the actual devs who made the game tweeted about this video, praising the translation of stage and is using it to review some of the more unclear (?) Japanese dialogue   (at least according to another translator who saw it in the Something Awful thread).

(Just link because Twitter slows my computer way down for some reason)

  11. On the off chance (and by some instinct almost), I got the idea to check to see if I could actually access Something Awful forums today (for the ongoing translation LP of the final Fantasy Maiden Wars game).......and by some miracle I guess they let us common plebs look at their stuff on holidays.

I spent the last hour taking every measure of saving them that I could, to make sure I could access the chapters that were translated so far-----so I wouldn't lose access to them again.   Only three new chapters have been translated since my last visit a few months ago, but one of them is supposed to be one of the most emotional in the series..........

Maybe I will actually care about Kioshi now that the FMW series actually gave some real emotional weight to her condition and its effect on her relationship with her sister, instead of just mentioning in her sister's character profile that her sister pitied her (like the canon games).    Maybe then I can accept that this random character is consistently top 3 in Touhou popularity polls, even occasionally beating Marisa (one of the main two characters) by getting second place.

      Well, time to get reading

  12. Heal Poison, Hurt Dragon Water: 11 Grass : 25 Dragon : 13 Electric : 17 Steel: 13 Fire : 18 Ground : 21 Ice : 22 Fight : 20 Normal : 18 Ghost : 18 Dark : 19 Bug : 22 Flying : 17 Rock : 19 Poison : 20 Psychic : 18
  13. Load a backup save. Follow the instructions linked below to find your save file, then delete/move the current file named 'Game', and finally rename one of the backups 'Game'. Backups have a #, your trainer name, number of badges, etc, so they are hard to mistake. http://www.rebornevo.com/index.php?/pr/save/
  14. I guess I'll say Merry Christmas again, since I did it late last night. Now with more relevant picture.

  15. I can say even with all the odd series that SRW Cross Omega has been featuring, I did not expect this one.  They got Megaman of all things, to help promote Megaman's 30th anniversary.

  16. Oh, it's finally Christmas in my time zone.  I would post an image directly here, but it doesn't work as well without translation so link it is:

    Banned

Banned for being an old man Dammit Google Translate, you had better not have made a fool of me here.
  18. Hurt Dragon, Heal Fairy I was going to pick a different type and leave Fairy to die, but then I decided to have an extra person waste their turn instead. Still aiming for (one of??) the most unbalanced type(s) for 5 generations. Water: 16 Grass : 24 Dragon : 13 Electric : 19 Steel : 13 Fire : 18 Ground : 21 Ice : 21 Fight : 21 Normal : 18 Ghost : 18 Dark : 19 Bug : 22 Flying : 18 Fairy: 3 Rock : 19 Poison : 20 Psychic : 20
  19. Well, that Marisa vs Reimu did not go as planned at all.  It seems even on hard mode, the enemy's fields have unique effects (usually the same one as one of their previous spell card gimicks as a boss).  I expected that to be the case on Lunatic difficulty, not Hard difficulty.  Needless to say, that quickly turned the tide of battle against me.

Even the 'weaker' characters had fairly devastating effects (including two fields with a 25% accuracy debuff each on the west end and the Aki sisters making it hard to gain morale on the east).  I had to blow half of my Strike spells (100% accuracy for one turn) just to hit most of them.  Of course Yukari (the final boss of the last game that I made a status update to complain about), just teleported behind my forces first turn to begin trolling, with her field being the one where one point blank attacks hit her.......while making it physically impossible to reach her.  While I know how I was supposed to beat it, I didn't have to time or patience to pull that off.

Thankfully, Reimu begins to move toward you enemy phase 3.  Unfortunately, two more enemies with (each with 30% evade buffs for the enemy units) follow her next turn along with last game's most annoying Mid-boss.  Almost all of my units had 0% accuracy against all of them as a result..........  Since I had already completed the Skill Point (defeating 4 other named enemies besides Reimu), I just had used what resources I had left to do the primary mission: tearing through both of Reimu's HP bars.

.............that sucked, but at least it didn't completely spiral into an unwinnable battle.  Just having to settle for the bottom of barrel with more than 10 other named enemies left on the field.......orz.

At least Reimu got to make a good Gundam reference (again)

Well, at least I have the other half of my team back finally (with a few new additions).  At least I finally have a more reliable bard, and all her borrowed mechanics from Basara

  20. Maybe Spoink got pushed back a little? The list doesn't mention any changes to the Spoink event, but it might have been overlooked
