  2. Litten is the new prize at the end of the Magma gang job hunting sidequest (requires you to renovate Obsidea slums), after returning to Reborn. For the incense, return the Igglypuff back to the woman in Peridot ward that gave it to you at the start of the game (assuming you started that quest; if not, maybe you can still start it).
  3. FMW update:  "Ah, a flller stage after those three non-stop sequence three stages with Ms. OP.  This will be a good chance to catch up my units that are behind in levels.  Since some of them are the more expensive units, I should be ok deploying them, even with the 5 turn time limit and the space between the enemy groups; shouldn't need too many teams. The less dodgy ones can just be a backpack for Mouku, Sanae or some other dodgy character till they catch up ..............................Wait, why is literally every mook deploying a field!  Why do those bigger mooks have MAP attacks and why are they so accurate?!!!  *Three units die first enemy phase* "

Pretty much my experience the first two times playing this stage.  I just wanted Marisa to catch up on kills and have many of the lesser used characters catch up in levels.  It was fine on most fronts.

First time: Mokou was ganged up on by the top left group and even with focus cast (+15% acc/evasion for turn) all the enemies have 70% or above on her; she used up both of her regenerations first turn and was killed completely.  Marisa continued to show she isn't as dodgy as I want.

Second: Just had Reimu (the ultimate dodger) take care of that section Mokou couldn't.  Even with focus, two enemies always seemed to hit her, but it was close.  Then I got surprised when too many units got close to a large mook, and it unleashed a surprise MAP, killing two of mine.    I just want some levels here people

Third: Thankfully, just slapping a support defender that needed levels onto Reimu was all I needed for her to survive.  Then it was just a matter of having only one or two units in range of the larger mooks.

    Spoiler

After some of the mooks were cleared out first turn, things become much more manageable.  In other news, the other two immortals from last arc joined, one of whom is also probably our only dual Repar/Resupply unit.  Too bad she's so expensive to deply.

And after disappearing at the epilogue of last game, Letty (the cool lady) finally returned mid-battle.  I really didn't use her much (twice) during the second game, so I was pleasantly surprised they gave her a good many levels to catch up (12 in my case)----she was ahead of the two lowest level units I brought to the stage.  While she couldn't do much this stage, she at least caught up with the two or three kills she did get.   She got a new theme as well (top), though I like her old one better (bottom)---thankfully, I figured out how to change themes:

  5. In any mainline Pokemon game I've ever played, I had to be restricted to what was available in-game, since I had no one to trade with. I guess that's less of an issue nowadays, but I've only played up to Gen 3 until I got back into Pokemon and played Gen 5 on emulator. Since getting into romhacks and fangames, I've tried to always use different mons (since I had 2 and later 3 gens of Pokemon I hadn't played before----now 4 gens). The one thing that seems to get on my team when possible (or hacking it in on B/ B2) is a Ralts to get Gardevoir, black hole creator. I guess this could be 'signature' Pokemon material, though I rarely use them nowadays since I used it a good bit in the past. I at least have one ready to battle in most cases. (I had a Gardevoir avatar in the past, which is in my signature)
  6. Buying them was (apparently) phased out in ep 16 (though it might have been earlier for all I know). Mining and the clown are the only two ways, unless 17 added a new method. Edit: I forgot to specifically mention the random hidden ones
  7. Enjoy your mons and thank you for these!
  8. I'll take a throwaway, but if it has to be from the list, then the A-Vulpix. @Gast Request sent
  9. I can give you either or both, with both either having 4 or 5 IV's. I am interested in the shiny Mimikuy.
  10. I just had to look before I moved on (and since I didn't pay attention during the stage proper), but damn does Moonbitch Yorihime have a lot of health this stage (for a single-HP bar  FMW boss).  I looked at a normal mode LP and she only has 48,000 HP on this stage.  Hard mode really expects more out of you.

  12. I'm not sure whether to call this stage a half-accomplished success or a failure.  Outside of the passing objective, there were 3/4 other objectives I hoped to accomplish.

    1) Get the Skill Point

2/3) Take out both Rabbits manning the cannons (gave 20,000 points each)

    4) Defeat Yourihime and get her item

I managed to take out Yourihime (since that was what I really wanted) and managed to nab one of the lucky Rabbits.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get the skill point.   I'm debating going to a backup and retying the last part of the stage for the Skill point.  I've already missed one because of Letty back in the second game, and I really don't feel like missing another one.

This stage was probably harder than last stage for a few reasons:

    1) all my units stated at the normal base morale instead of having a slight boost like last time;

    2) all enemy units charged immediately first turn and quickly started stacking debuff fields;

    3) Reimu had to rush to complete the main objective (so down a great unit by default)  and

    4) had less deployment cost than last stage, so a damage dealer had to be left off.

These stages probably wouldn't be as hard if you had access to your full roster for this arc, but instead you are stuck with about 1/3 of them for these three mission----many of which are decent to mediocre (not the team you want when facing one of the most OP Touhou characters).   If it weren't for them including the 3 Prismriver sisters (the combining unit that forms probably the best unit in the game), I think this stage would be near impossible.  I shudder to imagine this on Lunatic difficulty.

Anyway, this is the magnificent item I got for killing Yourihime again this stage (aside from the immense satisfaction).  She's thoroughly dead in round 2, @Xenoxblades

Well, maybe it was worth almost everyone dying.  Also, have to say I liked the backdrop for this stage.

I somehow missed this, but yep it was.  All about thrashing Moonbitch.  Sorry if I spammed it a bit.

I'm disappointed now that she beat the three Fairies of Light in the 14th popularity poll.

  13. As long as it works, it's all good; same result either way. It's very rare that I even keep the other file, so it ends up about the same in the end. The time of doing both trades is sped up with the speed up button, so it's not all bad. Maybe it has to do with computer model or maybe just the timing???? I wish I knew duping methods back in Red days........I honestly never stumbled upon Missingo, since I kept surfing to a minimum. That and only one other kid played Pokemon, so there wasn't a rumor mill I could hear about.
  14. I don't know if I'm misunderstanding what you are saying (probably am), but it sounds like you are saying that one side of a trade will inevitably fail by trading using this same computer method, which isn't true. I've traded a full party from a backup to the main file, with both sides getting everything correctly. It did take some time/coordination, but less than starting an individual trade over and over......

  16. Didn't it kind of imply he quit after he visited Eclipse's father and talked with the player again? Or am I remembering wrong? I'm pretty sure that Terra will pop out of that computer sometime, though what she will do is anyone's guess........doubt she would care too much either way, as long as it's interesting.
  17. Heal Ice, Hurt Normal Grass: 24 Steel: 12 Ground: 13 Ice: 24 Fighting: 4 Normal: 2 Ghost: 22 Dark: 11 Bug: 24 Rock: 8 Poison: 11
  18. Well, that felt like it took longer than it should have.  Settled for just capturing her 2nd and final cards (since I was not going to miss out on that great item) to get the Skill point.  With how bullshit that fight was, I have no qualms about the save scumming I had to do for some of those hits to land/miss.  Just one last stage in this arc, where I know I will have have to face her again (though this time it's more of a retreating mission where she doesn't have spell cards).  Moonbitch, round 1  is complete @Xenoxblades

One odd complaint I have is that the FMW team did not base part of her theme off of Moon Knights from SRW J.......it just fit so well, and they didn't go for it.

As much as parts of the last two stages were frustrating, they were at least fun.....mostly.  I definitely love the animation background if you land your units:

And second, to this entire group of enemy Moon Rabbits that didn't move all stage.  You probably prevented one or more of my units from getting overwhelmed if you all came at my group at once.

  19. If you have the money for it, might as well get it I suppose; at the very least, it's turning into a novelty. If it's a new/unopened copy, you'll even get the 3 (original) magnet warriors as a bonus; do the current games still give you three cards if you order a physical copy? If it's like Amazon, maybe you'll at least get free shipping for bigger orders.
  20. Maybe, as long you have a PS2 to run it on (or use emulators that way). The ISO runs fairly well on a PS2 emulator as well, if you want to try it before you buy it. I got it new for $30 back in the day, but physical copies would be rarer now. Just realize it is more turn-based strategy/rpg than the normal card game......or watch a video on youtube about it. Unfortunately, hasn't been a Yugioh game like it since, so it's hard to make a direct comparison
  21. Sure, it explains it just fine (since in the manga, this was just a game that lasted for a long arc before it became the manga) but doesn't justify excusing it as a potential flaw of the first series (depending on your tolerance of such things.).
  22. Still on the same stage, though I'm still on the third attempt (same as last update).  Having only two characters getting a single digit hit rate on her (with one of them holding the +25% accuracy modifier) while she constantly has 100% accuracy is beyond frustrating.

Still haven't triggered her first spell cards since most of the remaining mooks started charging.  Dealing with both them and her first spell would be suicide.  Just going to stick with the skill point and go for two of her spells; I doubt I have the resources to capture all 4.

Patchi is summing up my feelings pretty well right now:

  23. True enough. I wish it was moddable, like Forbidden Memories, so there could be some variation after all of these years. Still, it's fun to come back to from time to time and start fresh.

Dammit Yourihime, stop putting your picture on statuses that aren't about you.

Still haven't firmly decided which is my favorite.

  25. If you do play it at some point, it does go by it's own mechanics, though it's simple enough. Also, it's from the early 2000's, so expect monsters from that era (though many normal monsters have some kind of effect now). And yes, @Wolfox, Snapesnatch is in the game (and has an effect)
