  1. Every time I read a "but for me it was tuesday" quote, I cannot help but wonder: what was an actor like Raul Julia doing in that atrocious Street Fighter movie?

    1. Damiano

      Damiano

If it was so atrocious why was there a game based on it? Like seriously, why is there a game based on the movie based on the game?

Ah, logic. Something most makers of atrocious videogame movies seem to lack...

  2. Back from my exam. Results will be made known as soon as professor is done cerrecting them (monday probably), and then there will be the oral exam to complete the session... *crosses fingers*

  4. I have had this idea for quite a while, I believe I already posted it in another thread... There is an insect that is related to dragonflies, but it also has some trait of wasps. It is a vicious predator that uses its preys as living nests, literally implanting its eggs inside the victims (which are usually smaller insects, don't worry) so that its offspring can devour it from the inside upon hatching, Alien-style... I want a Pokemon based on that insect. Poison/Dark with Levitate, the stat distribution of a fast physical attacker (it would be reminiscent of a dragonfly in design, so it would need to be a physical attacker to avoid becoming a Yanmega 2.0 ), and possibly a name with a pun or reference to Alien... This is actually one of the many of the ideas for original Pokemon I have in mind, there are enough to make a regional Pokedex... But ehi, despite my subpar programming skills and despite the facts that the very few people I know who have such skills have turned me down, I still haven't abandoned my 5 years long dream of one day making a Reborn-style fangame with original Pokemon, so I am reluctant to share those ideas...
  5. Well I am late to the party so I don't know how this idea originally looked like (it would seem it sparked quite a bit of discussion tho...), but the final result looks quite solid to me. It would still be prevented from being broken by the fact that it needs to switch in in order to Mega Evolve, meaning it would still be at risk of losing 50% health to SR upon first switching in... And Bug/Fairy is actually an interesting combination. While I do agree with Hukuna on the "let's not make up abilities/moves when creating a new Pokemon/Mega" bit (and thus I am not going to comment on the new move), the Pokemon itself seems to be reasonably well thought out. I just wish Game Freak would handle Mega Evolutions the way you did here: making forgotten mons viable (and "viable" doesn't mean "from zeroes to game-defining powerhouses", mind you). The way they have handled it so far is making me hate the mechanic...
  6. Usual pre-exam dilemma... The tension for the upcoming exam prevents me from sleeping, but I need to sleep, but if I THINK that I need to sleep I inevitably think about the exam, and that of course increases the tension, further preventing me from sleeping...

So, in short, you'll fall sleep while you think about the exam because you can't sleep while you think it would be good to sleep for the exam.

Ok I don't even know what I wrote, but the point is, you should try and rest. Sleeping before an exam is always the best choice. Good luck also.

  7. Chrono Trigger made me realize that all characters drawn by Akira Toriyama look the same. Considering how popular the great man is in Italy, that's quite a disappointment...

  8. The opposing Cacturne used Seed Bomb! Crustle held on thanks to Sturdy! Crustle lost 99.6% of its health! Crustle held up its Red Card against the opposing Cacturne!

  9. Ninja Jelly... Also, From the looks of it, I honestly think that going through the trouble of setting up a rock-boosted sandstorm only to have one single Pokemon that benefits from it, while four actually dislike it, is not the smartest idea ever...

  13. I finally have a full grasp of the way I want to develop the plot of my fanfiction. Preparations for upcoming exam are proceeding smoothly. My signature team still kicks ass on SD. I am already more than halfway through my replayof Disgaea 3. It's been a big day!

  15. Get curious about what's going on in WWE (I have an internet key, so I haven't been able to watch WWE shows in a while). Look for Royal Rumble results. See how the main event went. Immediately regret getting curious.

  18. Since nobody is going to discuss the marvels of female "rear views" with me, I am going to sleep... *grumpy face*

  19. Speaking of speed, Mega Camerupt has actually the lowest base speed in the tier. Also, NU has Audino, a Pokemon with the Trick Room + Healing Wish combo, and Carbink, a Pokemon with the Trick Room + Explosion combo. Three guesses on what I am going to suggest next, and the first two don't count.
  20. I see a reiterated use of WoW as 4th move for Camerupt, but I'd like to point out that the camel also gets Flash Cannon, which hits supereffectively Mega Audino and is boosted by Sheer Force... I'd say it's worth running at least in the all-out offensive set (the first one). That aside, another good thread (WHERE IS MY MALAMAR THO?). To reply to nickrash: when suggesting a core built around an offensive Pokemon, it is wise to suggest defensive Pokemon that can cover for its weaknesses... And well, Vileplume is the best defensive Grass-type option you'll get in NU (well to be honest there's Eviolite Tangela too, but that is kinda being forgotten this gen for some reason), which is why you see it suggested a lot
  21. My full re-play of the Disgaea franchise continues with Disgaea 3... First battle, I get that bonus screen with the... Uh... "Rear view" of a gunslinger being shamelessly shown off, which of course makes it almost impossible for me to play the game, because the "rear views" of females are maybe my biggest weakness...

  22. Without IVs the games would be hella boring (regardless of the competitive impact) because all Pokemon would be the same. Basically, every time you face X Pokemon and it uses X move, you are guaranteed to know how much damage it would deal. IVs guarantee that no two Pokemon fight the same, adding diversity to the game: they really don't change the game much beyond the bit of unpredictability to specific match-ups, if you are obsessed with them it's only because of the omnipresent competitive mentality...
  23. I would like to point out that most Pokemon that have been cited as counter-arguments to my points (specially the "they are forcing us to run the Mega over the normal" point of mine), like Garchomp and Mewtwo, are from the FIRST "wave" of Megas, the one that I myself admitted was cool, made sense, and wasn't excessively invasive in that the normal forms still had their advantages over the Megas. What I am pointing my finger at is the LATEST wave of Megas, most of which are either nonsensical (the Lati twins), overkill (Salamence) or "let's give a forgotten Pokemon enhancements that have no plausible justufication but will make it strong" (Lopunny). I actually liked the Mega concept when it first came out, but now it feels like it is being showed down our throats: it could have been an opportunity to make all Pokemon equally relevant (strong and famous Pokemon are strong and famous, weak and forgotten Pokemon get Megas to make up for their shortcomings), but instead it is quickly turning into yet another flashy mechanic that gets a massive push only untill creators come up with something else, like Dream World was for Gen 5... ... Which is not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. It's just a thing I don't like. I merely happen to think the franchise should have taken a different direction, and I am a bit disappointed with how things are turning out, but ehi, maybe I am just salty because I suck at OU...
  24. When Megas first came out, they were a cool way to revamp some Pokemon for more advanced competitive use... And they also had validity in-universe: it makes sense (for example) for Blaziken to obtain its strongest (and usually limited) ability upone Mega Evolving, it makes sense for Charizard to become a true dragon, it makes sense for Blastoise to acquire a cannon-themed ability. But as more and more Pokemon get Megas, this original spirit is swiftly being forgotten, in favor of "let's grab a Pokemon and make it broken for the heck of it". Because it's clear that, while originally Megas were "just" cool options, with the standard form still retaining a niche of its own, lately we have been getting Megas that are inherently better than their base forms, and of basically everything else around them for that matters. Which means, to be succesful in a metagame that allows Megas, you must run one, because the only thing that can seriously thraten a Mega is, well, another Mega: what is the sense, from an in-universe point of view, of giving a Pokemon like Lopunny the Scrappy ability and a Fighting sub-type, aside for the lulz of making it broken? And from a competitive standpoint: how many non-Megas can stand up to a thing with HJK, great coverage moves (elemental punches, Fake Out, Return...) and Scrappy? I am not necessarily saying that Mega Lopunny is broken, mind you, I am just saying that grabbing random Pokemon and suddenly making them game-changing powerhouses is a dangerous trend, that can easily take away the fun of the game because, you know, not everyone likes to be forced to go with a game mechanic...
  25. Where is the "I am steadily growing to hate the whole Mega concept and I wish who invented it would burn in the eternal flames of Hell" option?
