  1. Sigh, whenever I hear people talking about Arcanine I feel like crying... I got myself a Drought Vulpix MUCH later in the game, because the first time I happened around those parts I had no Pokemon with the right Friendship. THEN I realized that I could create a great sun team replacing my current starter (Infernape) with another starter, the Bulbasaur you obtain on Azurine Island... THEN I realized that Infernape could give me a huge contribution before leaving, namely breeding me a Flash Fire Growlithe knowing Close Combat, that would have later evolved into an Arcanine set to be a huge asset to my team... AND THEN I realized that I had traded away Growlithe for Mareep out of good heart... *triple facepalm with a twist* Anyway on topic now: in Gyarados' set, did you mean Dragon Dance? Because I don't really think it can get Dragon Rush at all @OP
  2. There was a young lady who was curiously watching the others talking, mentally registering information about them. She had learned from direct experience how important teamwork is, and was now registerig everything involving her future partners, in order to be able to better interact with them. While she hadn't been shocked by the way she had been carried there (after all, she had basically begged to be in the organization, and she could understand their need for security), she was indeed a bit surprised that all her companions lacked, or at least seemed to lack, any military or guerrilla background: how could those people be useful in a war whatsoever? They did seemed to have a lot of sheer determination, so they could have learned over time, she guessed. As for her, she had this darkness fetish of hers that made her excellent for stealth, so she knew what she could do... And speaking of darkness fetish, wasn't that a cute Dark Pokemon that the guy named Zeke had just sent out? Bark bark! Arrrfffff.... Bark-bark arf! Were the first words she spoke in that meeting. If one could call those words. She did manage to catch the attention of the Houndoom, which gave her a grim look for a moment. Eh eh, aren't you cute... And then she realized that she had also caught the attention of the other people in the room: from the way they were looking at her, it was that kind of attention that usually comes just before someone asks for a psychiatrist... Oh, ehm... Hi there everybody! Aruma's theme: Etna Boogie I know, I know, I kinda got carried over there... But when I see a Dark-type I just cannot resist! My name is Aruma and... Well, in case you didn't guess, I love darkness, dark places, and Dark-type Pokemon! Isn't it just amazing how cute these little fellas can be? Just look at that Houndoom, it is adorable! The Houndoom kept not reciprocating the enthusiasm, but she didn't seem to realize. Ah, the power of darkness is so immense and mysterious, and lucky are those Pokemon that can access it... Lucky and cute! Take my Fluffy, for example: she is the cutest Pokemon in the world! I cannot show her to you right now, because she isn't really... Well, she is not the kind of Pokemon to let out of the ball in such a small room, with her ability and all... But sonner or later you will see her and you will love her, she is just that cute! At that point, Aruma finally lifted her eyes from the Houndoom, letting her gaze wander freely around the faces of the other people. But enough with my eccentricities: I am truly honored to know you people, and I am sure that, if we work together, we will be able to make for a great team, and finally set ourselves free from the tyranny! And then she realized that maybe, just maybe, showing her unfiltered gaze to unprepared people wasn't exactly a brilliant idea: she was seriously risking to shock at least a couple of them, with eyes like those... Oh well, they will have to get used to it...
  3. Seriously. you deserve all the kudos in the world. That was some remarkable effort...
  4. I was supposed to have a huge exam today, but after 3 hours waiting for the professor I was informed it had been delayed to friday... FML!

  5. Sludge Bomb? How the hell...?
  6. Just specifying something about the name: the long, "God my eyes are bleeding" name is INTENDED to make your eyes bleed. It is needed to give you an immediate feeling of how problematic the early life of Aruma was with such parents (because seriously, no good parents would ever name their daughter like that). However she will rarely use her full name, or even one of her names, going with the self-given nickname "Aruma" instead... Basically, she uses the name she gave herself, it is a declaration of independence! Also, I see the first mission brief is out... *goes check it*
  7. Here, edited what I needed to. Hope it is ok now. Quick recap: Name - Aruma Partner Pokemon - Fluffy the Tyrannitar Can't wait to get started!
  8. Khayoz stated that the Shiny Stone is on Azurine Island... But where, exactly?
  9. Just posting to notify that I am alive. I got some problems today, will rework what needs to be reworked tomorrow, it is 3 AM here right now, and I really need to sleep...
  10. Before deciding wether or not to hop in (it is 3 AM in the night here, so I will decide and post my application tomorrow regardless), I need to ask one question: what are the rules in terms of power level? Can we pick whatever Pokemon we may possibly desire, or are there limitations in regard of legendaries/pseudo-legendaries/whatever? Must we start at a specific level or are we free on this regard? Must we start with unevolved Pokemon or can we go straight for the big ones? Do the ranks influence such aspects? Also, what are the differences between being a member of the Village or Team Shadow, aside from the fact that you are good or evil respectively? Are there exclusive Pokemon/moves/abilities/whatever to each?
  11. So, this isn't a real "team showcase", given that the team isn't finished yet, and I am actually asking tips to complete it, so I thought I'd post it here. Here is the thing: I beat Aya and her brother upon returning to Reborn City, and now I am about to go save those kids from Team Meteor, but before I do I decided to take a long hiatus from the plot to work on improving my team. So far, my main team consists of Infernape (amazing starter), Staraptor (just brutal with Reckless, but I am considering to actually replace it with Honchkrow, since I just caugth a Murkrow and I therefore have an occasion to breed for Brave Bird...), Golem (never was a Link Stone used better), Gardevoir (best Psychic-type I could get without having to waste Exp on grinding a Bibarel early on)... And then there are Luxray and Quagsire. Don't get me wrong, I like both and they were actually a great asset when I defeated Solaris (because yes, I did, Intimidate+bulky Pokemon that resists anything Chomp can throw at me+lots of Super Potions=Struggle kill), but the point is... I don't think they can help a lot outside of that. Luxray is a good Physical attacker with a great ability, but the problem is that Electric is admittedly a more special-oriented type, and this causes the guy to suffer from a schyzophreniac movepool, from which only Crunch and Thunder Fang are truly useful, untill I get Wild Charge at least (even if, to be honest, getting myself that event Snubbull and a couple of Heart Scales to have it learn Fire Fang and Ice Fang could lead to interesting breeding scenarios...). As for Quagsire, it is immensely useful defensively but it has no offense option, simple as that. And while competitively a purely defensive Pokemon is possiblem, and is actually needed in every good team, in game you will admit that it soon becomes boring to play. Also, from the looks of it, chances are that there will be a Water gym to fight down the road, and well, as of now I don't have a true out to Water types (Luxray hits them for supereffective damage, in most cases, but it doesn't resist their moves, and Quagsire has great bulk, only one weakness and Water Absorb, but it cannot hurt them with any given offensive move, so yeah...). Due to all this, I would need a Pokemon capable of playing bulky offense, a Pokemon that has good defensive stats, good type advantage against Water (because, gym prediction aside, Water-types that are faster than Luxray are admittedly the bane of this team in general), and good offensive abilities. There is a Pokemon that fits this description, and it is Lanturn: however, since I am dumb, I played the Aqua storyline, so I have no way of getting it right now. Ludicolo could be another good option, sure it needs breeding to get its best STAB move (Giga Drain), but Cottonee gets that move as early as level 26, so that shouldn't be so that hard... However, from the guide to Pokemon location I am not sure I understand where Lotad is located, and I'd therefore need a better explaination. With Ludicolo in the spot in which Quagsire currently is, many interesting option would disclose: I could keep Luxray (maybe to breed for elemental fangs), or I could include another bulky attacker capable of rounding the overall offensive and defensive coverage of the team. I cannot think of anything like that right now, but maybe you guys can suggest something? All in all, what I am asking you people for is: 1) A better explaination on how to get a Lotad, along with breeding tips on how to get the best moveset possible for Ludicolo 2) Some tips on which Pokemon to run in the 6th spot: breeding tips on how to create a good moveset for Luxray, or just a new Pokemon to include over it altogether. I repeat the rest of the team: Infernape, Staraptor (might be replaced by a Honchkrow should I manage to breed Brave Bird on it), Golem, Gardevoir, and the aforementioned Ludicolo should I manage to get one with a good movepool. Thank you all in advance!
  12. I really wish there was a game in which that was actually the case... *Begins stalking Ame to implement it on Reborn*
  13. Sue-ish? And well yes I just went a bit random with her "powers", I guess they can be toned down (do I need to edit the post in the other thread or can we just get by with a mutual agreement here?). As for TTar's nick... Sigh I suck at nicknames, how do you name a huge, T-Rex-esque powerhouse with rocky skin, spiky tail, and an incredibly wide offensive movepool? ...Fluffy.
  14. Posting because I have a feeling that I will become a regular of the RP section. I am GMT+1. I would also like to point out that week-ends are a problematic period for me, so I will rarely be able to post at all on saturdays and sundays...
  15. There, I created my character. I apologize for the delay, I had to work on my fanfiction and I lost the cognition of time flow... But here I am! So yeah, the name is Aruma, and as mentioned in the profile she specializes in Dark types, of which she possesses a wide array... For this roleplay she will of course start with only one in accord to the rules: I had previously mentioned that I wanted to use Tyrannitar, adding that "I will use it because I cannot use Salamence, given that pseudo-legendaries are not allowed", but now that I think about it Tyrannitar is a pseudo-legendary itself... So yeah, am I actually allowed to use it? If not, Honchkrow will do just as fine, even if I would REALLY prefer Tyrannitar if possible...
  16. Ok here comes the character I am probably going to use for every Pokemon-related roleplay around these parts. Name: Camilla Valerie Mathilda Elinor Von Schwartzer, Aruma for friends. Appearance: Pic. When she is willing to avoid being recognized for whatever reason (in the case of this rp, that would be because she is a member of the Resistance and wants to conceal her true identity during her everyday life) she will wear casual clothing, with thick glasses covering her eyes, which would otherwise give away her cover being extremely recognizable. Birthday: 31/12/1990 in roleplays that are set in the present. For roleplays with a different setting in time, she is just 23-ish. Traits and personality: Other information:
  17. Ok now everything is clear, thank you a lot. I will post in that other thread asap and then get back here to officially enlist. Thanks again!
  18. Well I just joined this forum but I happen to be a big fan of roleplaying, so I might as well join in. However, I need to warn everyone that weekends are problematic for me, and I am rarely able to post anything anywhere on saturdays and sundays. Due to this, if the sign-up stage closes today or tomorrow and people start roleplaying on sunday, I am afraid I won't be able to post anything untill monday... Also, I am GMT+1, just so you know. Finally, a question: I have seen a topic where people post the characters they create for the various roleplays... Is it mandatory for me to post there and to create a charcter before I can enlist here? Or can I just come up with a character right here and right now, upon joining? I will wait untill this question is answered before submitting my name/character, because it will ofc depend on the answer to the question... As for the partner, I have a couple of options in mind, the most porminent being Tyrannitar (possibly my overall second favorite Pokemon ever, with the absolute first being Salamence which however is not available for this RP, because apparently Pseudo-Legendaries are forbidden), however I have a question on this regard too: is it just an anime-ish environment when a Pokemon has not a maximum limit of moves learned and can freely interact with the environment, or must we follow a game-like pattern? Also, must we start with the fully evolved partner, or can we train it over time? EDIT: corrected typos
  19. I appreciate it Ame. I really appreciate your words a lot. Let's just say I have now moved to... Well, other project with better chances of success
  20. This made my day (well, night)... Because yes, I have enjoyed the type test even before joining this community. I have done it twice and obtained the same result: Water/Steel. And yes, I was a bit mad about the fact that the idiotic trainer (incidentally, all my answers to the questions related to him were among the lines of "Elliot is an idiot") shared his surname with me... Talk about the coincidence! And thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I hope this can truly be a new beginning...
  21. I hate me so much right now. Because I know, I have known since the moment a guy on DNF talked me about Pokemon Reborn (the game), I know this is not going to end well. I know I am going to grow addicted, then to grow tired, then to just fade away. I always do just that. I know that joining this community is going to take away precious time from my studies at university, I know it is going to distract me from the fanfiction I am writing, I know it is going to be another of those places I join out of enthusiasm, only to leave unnoticed a few days later, without having managed to really become part of the community, to feel its spirit, its very heart. Then why the hell do I continue repeating this error? Why do I keep joinin places like this? Well, it probably has to do with the fact that I am a hopelessly sentimental son of a gun. You see, the fact is... Well, I could put it in many ways, but the fact is that I am the person formerly known as Tears of tomorrow (still known as that on DNF). Maybe, if some of you ever happened to hang around Pokemon Online and its official forum, you'd remember me. I am the guy who launched the project for our own fangame. We were a solid group, we had tons of ideas, a group on the forum, a server on PO, we created our own forum... And then it died out. We just didn't make it, there wasn't a real reason. One day we woke up and we realized we had failed. And the community just didn't feel the same afterwards, that was the beginning of the downward spiral that ultimately led me to abandon PO forever. And the fact is... The fact is that I recently downloaded the game after a guy on DNF told me about it, and it is awesome, and then I decided to come to this forum looking for some advice on a couple of matters involving my adventure in it, and there was this topic about how to become an Ace Member, and there was this guy who explained in detail how this place was born, and he said something about 20 people being close friends and carrying over this project for years... And well, it nearly moved me to tears. Because I look at this place and I see my dream made true at the hands of somebody else, I look at Ame and I see what I could have been, what I failed to become. I play the game and I think I could be the one to have created such an awesome piece of electronic art. I finally register to this forum, having decided to ask a lot of questions on how to continue my adventure, and I think I could be the one who answers those questions. Seeing this place made me sad. Maybe joining it will make me feel better, and allow me to finally be part of the community I have always dreamt to create myself. Or maybe not, I will win anyway tho, because sadness is a potent emotion and, who knows? Maybe it will help me write my fanfiction after all. Or maybe now... Or maybe now I will stop talking and give you the fight you came for (quote). I am Tomas Elliot, aside from what you read I am just a guy, I am happy to be here. Let the welcome party begin.
