Sylva glanced around the commercial district as they walked, a look of awe and excitement on her face. "Hey, maybe you should take off that crown thingie, it's kind of out of place, y'know." She was snapped out of her reverie by Frog's statement. "Oh, right!" She started, breaking her pace as she pulled the circlet off of her head. The blue jewel gleamed in the sunlight as she stuffed it into some fold of her dress. She had fallen a bit behind Frog's pace as she did so, and she took quick steps to catch up to him again, reaching a hand over to grab his arm. She looked up at him, her eyes bright with anticipation. "Where do we get to go first, Mister Frog?" She had trouble thinking of where she would choose, given the option. There were so many things here that she'd never heard of. Her excitement was threatening to bubble over, evident by how she kept bouncing off of her heels as she waited for a response.

Well, I found this thread super late, but I have to agree with the original post, as well as what Strat said a while back in the thread. To use my RP as an example: Any time I opened up The Awakened for interaction among players, only a few would actually act on it and do something, and I would generally be told by players that they "have nothing to post" and the like. And I understand that dilemna. It's a big step out of many player's comfort zones to wander away from a main plot and into player to player or even player to NPC interaction. Eventually, I just stopped leaving those openings, which ended up created more work for me that had to be done sooner for player demand, and in the end I had to make up scenarios that were never planned just so the players could do something. Those scenarios were quite apparently of a lower quality than what I had planned earlier, which ends up detracting from the players' experience, leading into a vicious cycle. It quickly became a hassle and just wasn't fun to host anymore because I constantly felt like I had to give the players more and more to do. Not to mention that with school coming up I couldn't possibly put that amount of time into the RP anymore, hence it's hiatus. (Probably more like death now, as much as it pains me to say so.) Anyway, I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, because a good part of the RP's death was my own fault as well. But I do agree that this is an issue that should be addressed. It sounds like you've all been working on something in this thread, though I haven't had time to read through it all yet. Hopefully things will work out.

An SAO original? I'm getting excited... As for Index, they at least seem to recognize how badly Index III is wanted, so that's a good sign. It'll come soon enough.

I don't know if it's the scariest per say, But my favorite horror movie was definitely Blair Witch Project. It doesn't have the jumpscares that most horror movies do, but it's the most suspenseful thing I have ever watched in my life. You expect something around every turn, and the first person filming really makes the movie. I'd definitely recommend giving it a watch if you haven't already.

Implying deeper mechanics make a game bad. Honestly, this is a discussion for a different place, but 2/3 things you named were known mechanics of the game (Wavedashing being known of before release and L-Cancelling being an intended feature, both of which I miss very much, as the lack of L-Cancelling absolutely crushes the viability of some characters while raising that of others tremendously in Sm4sh.) On topic, I haven't updated Sm4sh in forever, so I haven't tried the new shield stun for myself, but shields honestly did need a nerf in my opinion. Sm4sh was a game where connecting almost any aerial and most grounded attacks against a shield resulted in a free hit/grab for the opponent (Sometimes even a smash depending on the MU and move choice), which is ridiculous considering how easy shielding is. There were only a few moves/characters with these moves that were exceptions to this rule, most of which became top tiers at least partially because they had safe moves on shield (Shiek and ZSS for example). From what people are saying though, it does seem like they may have gone a bit too far with the nerf. I'll have to try it myself at some point.

I'll try to write you up a decent response when I have more time, but for now I'll just say that I like the idea. One of the most interesting things for me in the two episodes of Overlord I've seen so far was the fact that you could play as a slime. (Yes, playing as a slime appeals to me for whatever reason. I don't know why either.) So I suppose my first question is, "Will slimes be playable? Jk, that's not that important. Anyway, I could see this taking a few different routes. I think it might be interesting if players eventually encountered heroes at some point, so we get that kind of "reversed roles" dynamic. I could also see the RP avoiding this entirely, so it's definitely got a good number of paths open to it. Like I said, I'll try to write something more detailed later, but for now I'll leave this and my excitement at the idea!

I'd also have to say forests. My friends think I'm weird because whenever we're on a trip (Like camping or something) and come across a big forest, I always just want to explore it. They get bored pretty quickly, so I tell them to leave me behind. (Or sometimes I just leave them behind because I go off of trails and whatnot.) Anyway, I find forests to be really relaxing. Ama pretty much summed it up already. The other thing that I find super comforting is the idea of being in a log cabin out in the wilderness during a blizzard. Just being inside watching the snow, sitting by a fire where it's warm and sipping some hot chocolate sounds awesome to me for whatever reason. Unfortunately I've never gotten to do that in a log cabin in the wilderness, so my house is the best I've got. I think that situation might be the most relaxing for me of all though.

Sylva pouted... So he'd realized it. "Well I could do it with magic..." she started with a bored expression on her face, "but that would be booooring. I can do almost anything with magic, so that would be no fun." She broke into a smile. "I'd much rather see a washing machine at work. I wanna get a really good idea of how everything works here, y'know?" She relaxed herself again, staying silent for a moment before speaking again. "Though I suppose if you really want, I can just get it off myself..." She seemed almost disappointed as she murmered a short phrase. The blood disappeared as if wiped off by some perfect, invisible cloth. It took only a moment for Sylva return to her bright self. "All right then, Mr. Frog, let's go!"

Sylva stretched out her arms as she finished eating, letting out a contented sigh as Frog took the dishes away. "Master, that food was AMAZING! I can't wait to see what else the world has in store..." Her master returned to the room, asking the question she'd been waiting for. "You wanna go out right now? It's still kinda early, but I won't complain if ya want to go anyways. We could walk around the city and such. Dunno." "Yes!" she said excitedly, standing up in a hurry. "We have to go shopping, and CAKE!" She pouted for a moment, pulling the front of her dress. "We still need to wash this at some point... The blood looks a little suspicious..."

Found this a while back and thought it was pretty good. A lot of you have probably seen it already, but I liked it.

Think he meant that Exodus was a previous Sci-Fi RP that people seem to be forgetting, but that's besides the point. Anyway, I'd normally love to join this, but I'm barely keeping up with school and the RPs I'm in. My planned return for The Awakened hasn't even been able to happen because of that, and now I wonder if it's just too late for that RP. The point being, it sounds pretty interesting, but I unfortunately just don't have the time to join. Best of luck with it though!

Oi, happy anniversary Bibs! I agree that we may not have been the closest of people around here, and I could never really pinpoint when we started talking, but I'm glad we did! I've been a bit quiet and withdrawn from Reborn in general lately, which I regret (Though it's a bit unavoidable atm), but I'll be sticking around for a while more because of the great people like you. Make sure you stick around!

Well, that's understandable. Personally, I'd probably watch it anyway whether it's hyped or not, but then again, I'm a huge fan of SAO too, despite the criticisms it gets. I started AoT just before it exploded with popularity, so I didn't have any hype for it to live up to, which my be why it was so great for me. (It was also one of the first anime that I ever watched entirely, so that probably helps its case as well.)

I just love having this on in the background when I do anything. And this one actually stood out to me when I went back and played through that DLC.
