  1. Tfw I learn it's gonna cost around $1000 to fix the hood of my car after that crash, and I can't afford to do that on top of paying for college. I barely make the payments as it is... There goes all hope of saving for a PS4 in the near future... QQ
  2. For a potential window border, I was thinking you could play off of the Reborn logo. What came to mind for me was the idea of alternating diagonally slanted stripes. For example, the grey-black Reborn background color, followed by blue, back to grey, red, back to grey, purple, back to grey, green, and repeat. I'd imagine the grey stripes would be a bit thicker than the colored stripes as well. Hopefully that makes some sort of sense.
  3. -Updated my previous post with thoughts on the ending of RnY. Do the LNs (Not counting the ones further than the anime) have much extra info about things in them? This would be one of the few series with a world and characters that I find interesting enough to consider delving deeper and finding more information about. I don't like to read ahead, as I feel like the anime won't be as good that way, but I do like to read the parts covered in the anime after I watch it if they go into more detail about things.
  4. Sorry for the now TRIPLE post, but I've been told by mods that if it's relevant there's no problem so here we go. Plus, it's been two days. So as soon as I started Rokka no Yuusha, I pretty much got hooked and binged the whole season over the last two days. I'm just about to start the last episode, so I figured I might as well share my thoughts on the series's mystery before I learn the answer. Obviously, there will be spoilers, so don't read this if you don't want to see them. So now I'm off to find out. I have to say, I LOVE the way this series is presented. The mystery is exciting, the character designs are generally pretty good, the Mayan influence is strong (Which I like), and the tense atmosphere is perfect. I'm definitely excited to see how it ends. EDIT: I finished it. Anyway, despite my minor gripes about the end, the series was indeed very good. I love when a series makes me go through that whole reasoning process to solve a mystery. Very rarely am I actually inclined to make my own hypothesis in such detail, but I definitely wanted to give it a go for this one. I'm already anxious for a second season.
  5. Tbh, League is the worst of the "Big 3" MOBAS in my opinion, despite being the most popular. The gameplay is easily the least enjoyable of any of the 3, though I'll admit that League seems the most beginner friendly if you want to get into MOBAs. The only reason I forced myself to learn how to play it was because I liked a few of the character designs and I know a lot of people who play. DoTA 2 and Smite are both far better, Smite for the camera angle and skillshots, and DoTA for the creativity of the movesets(I like to think of their balancing strategy as "Make everyone OP, so nobody is") and the much nicer looking map than League. Although, you said you don't like Smite or League, so maybe MOBAs just aren't your thing. Otherwise I can recommend Killing Floor. It's a zombie survival game available for purchase on Steam (And you can actually win). It has a sequel now, though I haven't played that, so I can only recommend the original. It's pretty cheap now anyway since the sequel came out.(I would look into the sequel if the game seems interesting though). It has online multiplayer, which is a blast to play with friends, though it's usually great no matter who you're with. There are multiple classes to choose from and level up and multiple difficulties ranging from pretty easy to impossible.
  6. I've also heard that it's really easy, which is a big downfall in my opinion if they don't fix it before the final version. Hopefully, they'll hear the complaints and change some stuff.
  7. *Is still hesitant to call them waifus.* They're all so good, it'd be hard to choose one. QQ (Updated List) Haruue Erii from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun/Railgun S Uiharu Kazari from To Aru Majutsu no Index/To Aru Kagaku no Railgun Nabe/Narberal from Overlord Aiz Wallenstein from DanMachi And probably also Hestia from DanMachi
  8. So I don't know how many of you may have heard of this game, but Black Desert Online is a new action-MMORPG set to be released in the West sometime in 2016. The game is currently available in some playable form in Korea, and I believe they've started releasing Alpha keys for us in the West. Now a few of you might remember me talking about my "quest for the ultimate MMORPG" and this game looks like it might be the one. The character customization is INSANE and the game itself looks amazing. The gameplay animations are the sort of thing you would expect from a very high-budget developer -- they're also GREAT. There's a video here by somebody who managed to get onto the Korean servers to give it a test. The video's long, but I'd highly suggest watching at least a chunk of it if you have any interest in an action MMO. Their website explains that the game is neither free-to-play or subscription based. Instead, It will be a one-time purchase with the additional option to buy cosmetic items such as extra hairstyles, etc. This is pretty much the best method I could hope for for an RPG of this caliber. I'm super excited for this! It might be the MMO I've been waiting for.
  9. The concept itself sounds really interesting. I've actually wanted to see an MMORPG that does that sort of thing, but this looks just as good and would be way harder. Unfortunately, I do think that $9.99 is quite a bit too high for a game that you can only play until you die. I feel like that'll be the downfall of this game that could've been great.

    Undertale

Can somebody explain to me the gist of the appeal to this game? I keep hearing about it over and over, but I don't really know anything about it. The art style is so old that it bugs even me to look at (And I love old 8-bit stuff like the original LoZ and Megaman. Is it just really funny? I don't mean to sound cynical, because I know that this sounds like I'm shooting the game down when I read this post back to myself, but I assure you I'm not. I'm just curious about what makes it so good, so I know whether it'd be a good idea to play it or not.
  11. ...Did not know this was a thing. I need to check it out.

      @Kosher

The police didn't really assign fault to any of us who pulled over, so I think they knew it was the other guy's fault. The dumb part is that the guy who pulled into the lane never got hit, so he just drove away... I did get a ticket for "following too close," which is standard procedure by the police for a crash of that sort. The officer recommended that I try to appeal that though, since they knew there wasn't really much I could do in that situation.

But thanks for the hugs and happiness and whatnot guys. I'm glad things didn't turn out worse.

  13. Sorry for the double post, but I feel like posting this and it's relevant so whatever. I just got to reading this part of an interview with Reki Kawahara about the new SAO movie and I have to restrain my self from slamming my head into the wall repeatedly. You just missed your greatest chance, Kawahara. This is most definitely what I'd like to see. More Aincrad? YES PLEASE. Then again, there's no guarantee that a reboot would have meant new content, so maybe it wouldn't be that great. Either way, I'm still super hyped for the movie. Original SAO content coming 2016, and its likely that season 3 of the anime will be released the same year.
  14. Tfw looking at my old posts and I realize that I attempted the Hattening long before the actual Hattening, except I wasn't very good at image editing, didn't get many people to take me up on it, and generally barely finished any of the requests and left in shame. That related feel when I've been too busy to Spookify anything lately so I'm getting that same old feeling of shame.

  15. Huh. I can see all of the previous ones too but w/e. Looking good, man!
  16. I still need to finish the last of the SAO LNs (Except Alicization because I don't want to get ahead of the anime) before I worry about reading other LNs, but if I enjoy it enough I'll definitely give them a shot. Sounds to me like the series must be pretty good, so I'll make sure to give it a watch when I finish up all my current stuff. Switching towards mystery probably won't be a problem for me. I'm not in desperate need of action.
  17. Does anyone else have the thing where you listen to a song and think its lyrics say one thing only to later find out it's something else, but you decide to keep thinking it was the first thing because it sounds better to you?

      only all the time.

I give in to the actual lyrics later, though.

      zimvader42

Yes. For example, there's a song from the Shins that sounds like they're singing "run out of your burning FIAT", and to this day I still don't know the actual lyrics but that's just so funny to imagine that I stick to those imaginary lyrics instead.

So yeah, all the time is the answer, like the Vinny has said.

  18. Do Conai need to specify a discipline? Would that basically be what abilities their magic enhances? Are they limited to one type of enhancement? Also, is it Conai or Comai? The Interest check said Comai, but you wrote Conai here.
  19. So the idea of this topic randomly came to mind when I got to thinking about the many different animation styles in anime. Each anime tends to have its own style that works for it, and I think each of us also tends to prefer a certain style. Some of us might like Attack on Titan styled work, while others might lean more towards Durarara!! or Lucky Star or Angel Beats or whatever it may be. While yes, you can argue that each anime needs to stick to its style, (For example, Attack on Titan can't be animated like Lucky Star and still have the same effect), I do think there's some kind of style that each of us likes more than others. So basically, I just want to know what kind of style you like the most in anime. You can list an animation company or a short list of companies you like, or you can just name an anime or two whose animation stuck out to you. For me, I'd have to say J.C Staff and A-1 Pictures stand out to me the most, though there are specific examples within each of them that I'd like to mention. J.C. Staff is notable to me for their work on the To Aru series, As well as their work on DanMachi A-1 Pictures is most prominent to me specifically for their work on SAO. I honestly suspected that SAO and DanMachi were done by the same animation studio at first, simply based on appearance, but I was proven wrong. Regardless, those two are both examples of the sort of art style that I enjoy the most, even moreso than To Aru. So out of all the anime and manga, what art style/animation style do YOU prefer the most?
  20. So I've -almost- finished Log Horizon season 2 (I need to get around to watching those last three episodes), and I've started watching DanMachi/Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka/Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?/Dungeon Boobs/Whatever you want to call it. Honestly, even for first impressions, I recognize it as not a very deep or complex anime, yet I still find it super enjoyable for whatever reason. The main three characters (Bell, Hestia, and Aiz) All have very good designs appearance-wise in my opinion. It instantly established them in my mind, and they've definitely become my favorites in the show. At the same time though, they all have pretty straightforward personalities. You can expect them to do certain things at any situation (Except for Aiz sometimes. She seems kind of random, which I like.), and while that can be called bland characterization, they all fulfill their roles fairly well. I get the impression that the show is supposed to be pretty straightforward in general in terms of characterization. The worst thing for me is the abundant fanservice. While it's to be expected based on the title and it admittedly can be enjoyable in its own ways, I honestly think the show could have been much better if they had focused more on the plot, world, and characters, and less on the boobs and one-sided romance. It also suffers from "Main character harem" syndrome, which works in some cases, but I don't necessarily think this is one of them. (Plus I've watched way too many anime right in a row that do the same thing.) It's sad to me, because I like the world it's set in, and I like the majority of the characters and think they're designed very well, but I know that I can't really expect much more from the series than what it's already given up front. All in all, I do have to say that it's given me a very positive opinion though. I realize that it has its flaws, but at the same time, it's entertaining enough that I've been binge-watching over the weekend whenever I had time. It draws some obvious parallels to SAO in my mind, and unfortunately most of those parallels are to SAO's downfalls, rather than its good points. I still love SAO despite its faults though, and this anime seems like it's likely going to remain memorable for me as well. On another note, I'm going to start watching Rokka no Yuusha at some point. After taking a look at it, I realize that Dobby's most likely seen it based on his sig, but if any one else has any opinions on that or anything else I've mentioned, I'd love to hear them.
  21. Sounds pretty awesome to me. Comai all the way! I'd definitely support taking this farther, and you can count on me signing up if I can at all find the time to do another RP.
  22. There are fan-made drivers you can download to enable the Wii U GC adapter to work with PC. I've heard that it works for a lot of people, but it never did for me for whatever reason.
  23. I've tried so many ways to get a GC controller to work and have never been able to do it, so I use an old PS3 controller. As for the price, it is somewhat high related to current content as there are currently only 6 characters and basically two modes. Then again, it is an early access game. What worries me the most is the fact that there are only two more character slots. I was hoping for far more than 8 characters for a final version. It's an indie game though, so time and money are obviously restrictions there.
  24. Phantom gave a slow nod before walking forward. He didn't know what the vines meant, but if Meridian believed they were an obstacle to him, he'd have to find out. He placed his right hand onto the sword at his side, ready to draw it in an instant if need be. He was approaching the vine-covered area, moving cautiously as he waited for some sort of response.
