  1. Okay, I'm not a mod, but I suggest halting with this whole becoming an Ace Member thing. It's way off topic and it's not something that's just given to you. Unless you have nearly the amount of rupees it costs along with nearly there to the post count (like 20-30 posts away) then you're likely going to miss it. Getting Ace is not an instant process and believe me, not worth that much effort in this short period of time just to beta test. I went through 7 episode releases without Beta testing so I can legitimately say that. As for the community release, it's pretty much found in the development blog or around this area iirc, but it's in the forums and not the front page. You will know it's there when the banner changes at the top. This version is generally very stable and often plays similar if not almost exactly like the official release. This version is also not super glitchy (I remember E15 beta fighting error messages like crazy for the Maison fights) and the level of difficulty is better balanced. Sometimes major glitches occur like the famous VIII Charlotte freeze, Aya ditching you in battle, XIV's AI, and the WTC one. Hopefully stuff like that won't happen this release. Believe me that I'm gonna make sure it doesn't as I gotta deal with it as well. Play my mod instead while you wait. Honestly, I'd actually pay attention to the dialogue now that you know what's happening. One of my favorites rereading was Terra punching the showers. Makes a little more sense than it did reading the first time around.
  2. I'm indifferent to the switch. Until I see the library of games coming out, this is merely a gimmick and I care little for portability.

  3. I just finished creating my to do list for Hardcore E16. 85 items in total, but probably a heck of a lot more....somebody kill me.

  4. If you're wondering what happened to those free items at the start of the game...well maybe our techie should explain.

  5. C&D is part of the unwritten contract fan-game/hackers sign whether they are aware at first or not. It's often why you should use a persona instead of your real name so that something doesn't get written on your record, but it's not that huge of a deal in the long run. In a way, this stuff is a form of flattery and interest in the series and helps people stay into it when they get pushed away. Let me describe to you Pokemon in a nutshell and why things are the way they are. Most video game companies consider it a huge deal if they hit over a million copies sold. Some nintendo games don't even hit 2 million. Uranium hit 1.5 million DLs at one point (probably more now) which is likely the biggest number in terms of the hacks/fan-games since the only thing that could compare is Sacred Gold from memory. That is a freaking huge number compared to most fan-games if not all of them. Pokemon has like 14 million copies sold for each main game game sold. So 10%, while still small, is significant which puts it on the radar. The rest of us are small little dots which is why nintendo rarely takes action.
  6. Okay you know something is very wrong when I of all people step into a political discussion topic. Just to clear something up, I'd rather have Hillary in the office over Trump even though if I could I would choose neither after this whole thing. That's likely what's going to happen anyways and you can see the Trump administration upping their game due to it. @Absolutely-Awesome: I haven't read much, but it seems you are making bold and false claims with very little to back them up. Stuff like the youtube videos you showcased does happen and has happened since the beginning of time, but people will exaggerate it whenever they can. I remember I think Illinois people used deceased people for extra votes. I do suggest brushing up on your knowledge and making sure you word yourself clearly as politics can make anyone look like an ignorant baffoon if they aren't careful. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I personally think trying to cancel or stop SNL is kind of silly. Just a method to stay in the news and be discussed I suppose. I mean Trump Temptation is a thing and they tried to get rid of it, but hallelujah parody laws coming into play. Based on the US law and rights SNL does have the right to do what they do so long as it's true or parodying something. I don't watch the show much, but it's a form of satire which can influence the election, but not really that much. Gonna just leave now. Just wanted to say this topic is kind of interesting to read about. Probably won't join in that much and I'm so behind as that's yesterday's news.
  7. Even though I've been around since Episode VII, I've only done one beta test so far so I wouldn't know.
  8. It's very hard to show progress for something that's very...sporadic. The episode has an unknown amount of errors which well have to be found. What if I asked you how many questions and the answers to the question on a final exam are going to be on the first day? These go through weekly cycles until the game is ready for the next stage. I predict two weeks for Alpha and two weeks for the Beta. So chances are Sun and Moon will be out shortly before Reborn E16 is so you can enjoy the new Pokes as a distraction. Probably for the better tbh. As for people who ask about when is the episode going to be released, I will personally respond with a pic of Fern standing in a lava pit saying "They can wait another week now." Or something along those lines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- There really isn't that much else to talk about and as much as I want to create a post with 100 pics celebrating 100% when it happens, I will refrain. Though I really like how there's a bunch of hidden items in clever places such as the Rare Candy found in E15 after the Maison fight. Gonna be fun going on a treasure hunt, though I predict this one will be a very, very long treasure hunt.
  9. I see all this Hillary vs Trump in the voting and I'm like: "Can I just vote Bibs into the office?"

  10. That's a little bit of...er...overkill in terms of team design. Probably could just take six of those and be good for whatever challenges come out. Gyarados snapped Reborn in half along with Blaziken and the other powerhouses could help break through where the duo couldn't. Let's see what I can suggest: Archeops hits like a truck, but given you have plenty of those, it might be best to drop that one due to the ability. If you can keep it healthy it's amazing but that's easier said then done at points. Dragalge should just be replaced with Flygon because you don't really need that poison typing and EQ immunity is important when using a magnezone for switching purposes. Just add Gyarados to the team and pretty much just chop off the rest of the reserves other than Metagross and Noivern. The term rotation team actually just means rotating something out that will be worthless in a certain fight(s), but often you will only effectively be using four Pokemon in a gym battle with the other two being heal fodder so sometimes tanks help in that regard. Generally I just swap out one Pokemon after each leader and train it up for Hardcore but reg Reborn I rarely do. The smaller rotation team you have the better since exp management is brutal in Reborn.
  11. As it stands right now, Ame's primary focus is now on completing Reborn first and making it current gen after the game is completed. The development time struggles will reflect this decision so I highly doubt Ame is just going to add Gen VII in for 17 even. 18 maybe depending on how long it takes. She has other huge projects going such as battle animations (something many fan games lack) along with the online system which are not small little additions to the game. In terms of Hardcore, it would be in Episode 17 at the earliest but not very likely. Gen VII needs to be out for roughly a year and I need to get a feel for these mons and how the new meta works and update the entire game to reflect this. Pokemon trainer parties would have to be changed, events be moved around and even added and possibly adding new areas into the game to compensate for an even bigger roster. Getting all the data required for these mons would only be the 1/3rd point. Let Sun & Moon come out and everything blow over and revealed. Then we can talk about Gen VII and Reborn. What's been shown data wise isn't too bad, but again, we haven't seen the demon we're facing to the fullest.
  12. It's in the FAQ found on the left tab area which is called Game FAQ. ---- Well it's so close and I'm sure it's been ages since some of us have played some areas of the game. Might actually not be a bad idea to restart, definitely not because of the relationship variables, but because of all the little things that happen in the plot. I would know. I've had to see certain scenes 50 bloody times due to having to test so much stuff and rewatch so many scenes. And...I'm honestly surprised we have another one leader episode (cause for the past two episodes I though we'd be fighting two). I have a good guess who it is, but watch it come out of left field and be Saphira.
  13. So for those who are wondering (when did this turn into a development blog...thing), I actually have the altered fights done for everyone other than Kiki (who's not getting one...we have 3 fighting leaders which one of which is getting one already), Corey (who is just going to have the option to fight either), Samson, and Luna I'm likely going to be redoing bits of Ciel's doubles fight to differentiate it a bit more and make it better, though I also need to event Corey's since consistency is something people gripe about...a lot (points to Oshawott). Aya's is kind of...lazy but does feel a little bit different (uses the same strategy more or less sadly), but with 3 poison leaders you can only do so much. Which also means...I have to redo another hidden mon...though I think I know what to make this one. As for the other fights, they really deviate from the classical stratagies which some might throw a few curve balls at you such as trying to Rain Dance TR A-Charlotte (gonna call them alternate or A fights from now on). A-Terra is pure evil though. That thing makes A-Serra look like a cakewalk. If that was the official Hardcore fight, that thing would be nerfed harder than the original Corrosive Field Corey was. Also for the TM shop RIP Calm Mind. Tbh, the decision is mostly due to the whole Pokemon who need it get it already and those who need it through TM come super late anyways. Shadow Ball will stay though. Don't think that TM is OP and gets the job done for using other Pokemon than the ones people praise the hell out of. Oh I almost forgot for the minors...miners out there in the world. Your labor days of digging for hours for a goddamn fossil or plate are over. A fossil shop as well as a Mining Roulette will be added to the department store. The fossil shop just let's you buy fossils obtained for 20,000 Poke a piece (and also odd keystone). Hey, I didn't say convenience was cheap. As for Mining Roulette, 4 shards of a random color let's you raffle for a random, non shard and non absurdly common item...and no fossils, item. So pretty much the bulk of it other than about 40 or so events along with the transitioning into E16 is pretty much done. The non CoM version is still gonna take a while since Beta testers as well as I are going to need to quality check a whole bunch of fights. Though I might just release Hardcore without the heavy testing and save it for the CoM version and make edits to both (since one only uses two different text files). It'll go through alpha testing before being pushed into beta so that we don't have me uploading patches for the E16 versions. Once the CoM E16 version is up, that's it. No additional updates like before fixing stuff. Just one and done.
  14. Those are three different Pokemon with three completely different uses. Ampharos is bulky and really kind of there as early game support which should only be used if you're weak in both defenses as it can take a hit and parafuse combo along with hit hard with an electric attack. Magnezone is a little slow but its typing is quite good so if you lack defenses I'd go for that. Manectric is the best offensively and actually goes quite nicely with a discharge user due to the free boost from lightining rod. It's very fast and will generally hit stuff hard before dying. It really grinds down to your team and what you need. If you lack speed then Manectric, but if you are frail then Magnezone.
  15. Is that Corey's Nidoqueen wait...Nidoran ain't available other than that. I heard a lot of good things about that Nidoqueen so...don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

  17. Well pre XIII there was the old system of 4 leaders per block (season 3 had 3 leaders per block) so it's something like this: Tier 1: Julia, Florinia, Corey (replaced with Aya), Shelly Tier 2: Shade, Kiki (replaced with Samson), Serra, Noel Tier 3: Luna, Radomus, Charlotte, Terra Tier 4: Ciel, (Amaria), (Titania), (Hardy) Tier 5: (Saphira) (Adrienn would not have existed but maybe here) Though with the new system: Tier 1: Julia, Florinia, Corey (replaced with Aya) Tier 2: Shelly, Shade, Kiki (replaced with Samson) Tier 3: Serra, Noel, Radomus Tier 4: Luna, Charlotte, Terra Tier 5: Ciel, (Adrienn), (Amaria) Tier 6: (Hardy), (Titania), (Saphira) I have to put Aya and Samson in parentheses due to them possibly shifting down leaders from their current position to a lower tier since well new leaders have a different set amount of skills. That does not matter since we're figuring out the rank of leaders we haven't faced yet. Now that I have them tiered(ish) I'll explain how the league system worked due to them all being the same level. Challengers were allowed to face a leader ranked up to 4 above of the old system and 3 above in the new system of the current badge they were missing. I'm going to use the new system for this example. Let's say I haven't defeated Serra yet, but beat everyone before her. I could challenge Noel, Radomus, or Serra, but not Luna. ...Well if the player is facing them in proper order and Fern did get Amaria's badge...I think we know who's next. Her Lapras was level 80 anyways.
  18. I find it strange and humurous top ten lists are a thing now. Don't really recall them for Reborn but you never know. Congrats on making it to the end. TBH, the CoM really is only half done as more or less the framework is complete, but not the quality test of the fights. The quality checking for high leveled trainers is honestly insane as I've only gone through Julia, Florinia (yes I know she's easy), and Aya fully. Over time those fights will get better but that's a slow process. That's about as close to difficulty I can crank the game up to without cheating the system though XCoM is going to be WAY harder given legendaries come into play. As for the post Ciel fights aka the hellish 4, those are actually symbolic to the Reborn League's E4 in which they are allowed both a legendary and a mega. Hardcore's league plays out as tier 1 (aka the first four leaders...though Shade gets a freebie) are the only ones not allowed a mega, and the top tier are allowed the use of 1 legendary. The champion actually is allowed one mega and two legends, but our current champ follows the E4 rules. CoM allows for tier 1 leaders to use mega, but unlike the league, a Mega isn't required in a fight nor is their ace which we may see Bugsy go away for Shelly. XCoM has no restrictions other than only allowing one Mega and One legendary for the player.
  19. Even if it did heal, there's like a healthy spot 2 minutes away so this would mostly just save a little bit of time and be convenient. As for the EVs, instead of increasing EVS maybe you could go the opposite and set them back to zero totally or choose a certain stat. EV training doesn't take that long other than that.
  20. The chances of Julia dying are fairly low, but you never know. She's at Amaria's house currently sleeping on a couch and since she appeared in the last arc I don't she's going to pop up right away but she could. As for the whole badge thing if it were to happen, Reborn set its own rules up that if a leader dies, the badge is invalidated which probably mean (since the trainer card uses Arclight/Sigmund's gym badge anyways...not Julia's) that the player would just have to fight Arclight to revalidate that badge. Also, it's if a leader retires, not exactly dying for this to take place. I get what people are saying with the whole what about people who currently have the badge in that world. Well...how many people even have that many badges? Fern has probably 10, due to joining Team Meteor, at the most leaving the player with pretty much the only one who's even collected them all. Does Fern even have Noel's badge for example because I don't think Noel would be taking challengers at that point in time? Can't really say it's a sound structure, but yeah only like 5 people would even be able to make it to the league so having to rebattle a gym leader wouldn't be such an issue, would it? I think it's tied in to the plot and likely a mid episode fight (similar to Blake/Cal in those episodes) which I honestly thought Sigmund was the one we were facing. Who knows? He could actually be the E4 and was just holding back (though I doubt it as Heather would've recognized him then). With Laura, Sigmund, and likely Arclight out (plus Amaria, Saphira, Hardy, Adrienn, and Titania) there's not a lot of candidates for the E4. Bennett, El, Lin, Anna, and...that's about it.
  21. While I'm entirely not against giving leaders some non mono ones (in fact that's what Julia and Florinia are based upon due to the fact they both share a mono with two other characters), I generally keep their monos since there's so much you can do with them. I won't be breaking the monos of any of the leaders (unless they do it within the story/normal game), but I'd definitely support someone attempting that. Julia's strategy from the league from what I read was a Rain Dance user to abuse thunder though I recall her being mostly singles fights. Since anything above 80 BP would absolutely destroy players. Don't worry, she's still going to be very dangerous and probably harder than her normal fight. Florinia...is very strange so I'm sure I'll get mixed opinions on that one. Not as solid as the singles, but she did hand me my butt as Fern who destroyed her in singles. That one I'll play around with more. And since the poll has a good sum (I was going for 20 and still will wait) I can tell Terra is in the lead by a good margin. You guys would vote for the one leader I'm not sure what I want to do with. Probably going to be something still in a singles fight, but again we'll see what I come up with. I do try to make both fights feel a bit different so they don't play out the same. That's why singles Ciel and Noel are getting revamps.
  22. That definitely is not the night club. If you think it's the night club, you've never been to a night club (though that one isn't too farfetched from what the real one looks like). The thing about the night club is that it's for post game which has been said many times before on earlier releases of the game. That's really not to take note there. Also Julia doesn't have to die for her badge to be invalidated and we have to battle Arclight to validate it. Just saying it's a possibility. While you can't see the full thing, there's enough hard evidence that this is a battlefield. Since I doubt that's the orphanage one, we can only assume that this is a new location. It's also very peculiar that Ame would also reveal something like this as a teaser. It could be part of the main plot (since well Arclight is nonexistant more or less until now) or part of a sidequest such as the magikarp one though again, odd place for a sidequest in what looks like an official stadium and definitely suits Arclight.
