  1. You know, after all this time, I think I finally figured out what the Ditto-ceus fight is going to do. (Points to Adrienn). Yeah, I'm not looking forward to this fight.
  2. Well if you go to my run in team showcase and download my version of hardcore, there's a lucky egg and exp share right outside the grand hall.
  3. I got the poll up for Florinia in the team showcase run I have. I'm probably going to let that run one a week or two before making adjustments to her. (Seriously, she's given me more grief than Ciel and Terra combined).

  4. I want to strangle you so much seeing as I can't use Giga Drain until I breed Treeko. It's not too big of a loss considering Budew is in the box. IKR? This is more to get feedback as I slowly work on fixing a bunch of other issues with leveling. Anyways, best of luck in your run as you've gotten pretty far. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright, I put the poll up a little early, but for every leader who's given me problems in the past, I'll post this thing up. Trust me when I say Florinia made me bang my head against the wall trying to fix her due to how much of a problem leader she is. I call her Derpbot for a reason. I'll try to clarify a couple things in the questionaire. First off, Florinia has gone through a lot of team adjustments which is why I have a huge list. I want to keep her a dessert based design, but if it's going to be a joke, I'll push a bit away from that and her stalling style (since the AI hates stall with a passion). First off is Tropius. Tropius is quite strong in that point in time with only evolved Pokemon being able to take it on. I feel the Sitrus Berry would make for a challenge, but it seems more annoying than a threat. I can make Tropius a lot stronger and see if that works better instead or I can keep the berry forcing players to think outside the box. Next would be Breloom who I somehow messed up it's Spore tactic. I'm going to dig into it a little bit, but I'm not sure if people want Technician or Poison heal as both could work great for Clarice. And the last is Cradily who just seems to be a bit under powered for a last Pokemon. Basically, I'm asking if I should use the old Curse, the new Stockpile, or try a brand new strategy to make Cradily stronger as fighting types just seem to devour it and it doesn't really pose a threat at all. As for the AI bug, I did a lot of testing and Nature Power is broken on field effects. The AI isn't programmed to think of it as something other than Tri Attack (I think) which causes some seriously stupid plays on Florinia's side. I'm asking if it's okay to use Sand Tomb instead to get around that AI issue or should I stick to being official like the main games.
  5. 1. In Hardcore, I fixed the glaring Exp Issue that arose by more or less by slapping an Exp Share and Lucky Egg right outside the grand hall. Despite the five level jump, it doesn't seem to be too problematic. It does give an abundance of Exp, but due to the level cap adjustment, nobody is going to overgrind the cap by much. We don't need that much Exp honestly and what we have isn't bad at all. 2. No point in this really as it'd be too hard to program (which is half the reason this shouldn't be done) and if anything, you could argue the normal game should be in set as that's how most of the Metagame is played. 3. Costumes...maybe, but I don't really see it and it'd need a lot of spriting. It's definitely something that could go in a suggestion box though for when Reborn is completed. 4. No. NO! NO! NO! Reborn is all about the normal Pokemon game and using your skills based on that. Doing this would take away from that not to mention a lot of work trying to find stuff. I'm also a firm believer that if you're going to include Fakemon, their better be a good explanation to them and they have to look good. 5. Err...don't think that's possible and kind of pointless, honestly. It's again a lot of work to sprite this for 750 Pokemon at the least. 6. Learn your field effects. Pokemon moves do not need combined and the field effects do a good job on making worthless moves useful. Heck, Strength is one of the best moves in Big Top if you get the right Pokemon. It is far stronger than Return. I call this get gud. 7. ._. You have no idea what Metagame is, do you? Evasion was banned at one point due to it. Heck, they still have an evasion clause. Evasion is literally the most broken stat that can make a worthless Pokemon completely broken. Sorry, but I'm going to be up front and say none of those ideas are going to be accepted. You seem to have a lack of education in game making along with competitive strategy making most of those suggestions quite irrelevant.
  6. I just did a facepalm there when I realized Sap Sipper raised attack instead of special attack. Still think Huge Power is the better option, but I suppose Sap Sipper could work as a gimmick. As for Mold Breaker, That'll put a hurt on Hydreigon, but it'd otherwise be fine. And Jacob, to start off NO MEGAS! I also kind of noticed more of your moves are attack moves. I mean hyper offensive can work, but it's best to have priority moves to keep pressure on.
  7. Chubb, you have a decent Trick Room base, but Garchomp is more or less worthless in doubles and triples in that Scenario due to its speed. Slowking isn't that strong offensively so perhaps replace Ice Beam with Nasty Plot to do more damage (and to get around Sucker Punches). Power vs versatility is always something that has to be considered. Snorlax is also not as tanky as it may seem (though it can take hits for sure) so running it without rest-talk is a risk. AuthorReborn, your biggest risk is in doubles as Donphan will put a lot of hurt on your team there. Also, Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock are more or less worthless on monotypes unless you have a stall team. Heck, I don't bother with them half the time because they aren't useful except against Flying and Fire. DD, there isn't anything wrong with your team, but it's a high risk type of deal with one false move costing the match. Beware of will-o-wisp. It is your teams worst nightmare. Dragonite could also be turned into a special attacker if you really wanted to. Grizzly, half of your Pokemon will be destroyed by your own earthquakes in doubles and triples (and trust me a lot of leaders like to use either of those). You may want to rethink your team a bit and also hazards aren't a threat to your team other than Talonflame, but Talon isn't an almighty god so only a handful of leaders would try stealth rock supposedly. It'd be a decent singles core, but that's it. (Aka your team is a bigger threat to yourself than the leader in doubles or triples). Obdyld (or however you say it), I can't say much about your team as it has a lot of versatility. The only thing I can say is about Earthquake, but most of your Pokemon can take one. Just hammer out your tactics and you should be able to get through quite a number of leaders. Endure might be a little too risky of a play, but Garchomp has what it needs to do what it does. Sir Bagel, I'm going to be honest and say I really can't judge this one. If you go Sap Sipper Azu, go for special based as Azu's attack is horrendous without huge power (it almost needs it to be good). Since you're going Mold Breaker Excadrill, I don't see the need for the Hippo. I'd probably just replace it with something else.
  8. UPDATE 11/17: 2.0 is out and here are your links: Mega Mediafire Hello all, I'm sure most of you don't know, but I had a little challenge mode on here before with a lot of rulesets to kind of make the game harder. I kind of stopped that because it got to be such a grindfest for something that wasn't so much a challenge because I've gotten a little too good at it. What we have here is kind of another test run so that I can alter the leaders a bit due to some AI problems that arose. I'm not going to fix everything, but I'm going to try and make things a little bit less painful or a bit more challenging/balanced. Part 1: Boomies Galor So skipping all the boring stuff aside, I decided to go with Treecko this time. I totally should've picked Chikorita, but both grass starters don't get the love they deserved so we'll just settle with this. Cain had his infamous unlucky Nidoran who kept missing letting me claim victory, but I had to waste a potion on Victoria. Not much happened at the start. I slipped by Techie Johnathan to pick up the Exp Share and Lucky Egg items (seriously, I couldn't even play this mod without them) and caught a Bidoof to help me out. A little bit later, I picked up a Pachirusu nicknamed Chichi who pretty much is deadweight for the Exp Share. I did a lot of events, but my Julia team consisted of Grovyle, Whismur, Gulpin, Pansear, Pachirusu, and Espurr. Fern was kind of pathetic in the face of Leon's fury cutter. Pretty much he couldn't even touch me once I had Fury Cutter set up on Lotad. I'm already loving Grovyle. I will say that the trainer levels aren't too bad until you hit the areas around Fern. I might up them a tiny bit to help with grinding that additional five levels. Mosswater Factory is more or less an excuse to grind. I really need to raise the team Meteor levels a bit because Fern kind of just devours them with his evolved Pokemon. Aster and Eclipse are definitely getting some move enhancements because they are kind of easy, but they can take hits pretty well. (Curse you dumb AI). After that, I still had to grind a bit...on level 12 Pokemon. Unfortunately on my version, I didn't raise the levels of the wild Pokemon so...hopefully that'll be the most I ever have to grind (though 20 minutes isn't bad tbh). Now on to the main event, Julia: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary of the battle: I got to say, Julia is the perfect difficulty. If you know what you're doing, she's not hard, but if you charge in there like a fool, she'll devour you. I've seen it time and time again. Anyways, I lead with Flare (Pansear) who made Julia waste her potions on Magnemite (thank you Gluttony for once) until it died the next turn. With that down, she sent in her Emolga. The World Champ came in and tanked two Acrobatics and even with 110BP, it only took down half it's health before OHKOing Emolga with Bide. In my first attempt, I thought Voltorb would use explosion which would heal Pachirusu, but it turns out Explosion causes not very effective damage killing Pachirusu otherwise I would've won that time. Anyways, I sent out Leon (Grovyle) and this Voltorb was having a very bad day and kept missing Sonicbooms and Charge beams while Leon KO'd it with Mega Drains. Next came Chinchou who pulled off a T-wave Electro ball combo, but Leon managed to pull through and shoot it down with two Mega Drains. This is why I put some of my tricks to use. Helioptile come out next and I sent out my Gulpin. On my first turn, I used Poison Gas while it used Rain Dance. It started using Parabolic Charge, but due to Liquid Ooze, it actually took damage instead of healing it. While this was going on, Shaggy (Gulpin) spammed Amnesia to set up and then started to attack with Sludge. I did use a potion near the end to make sure Gulpin had over 20 HP. When electrode came out, I had Shaggy poison it with poison gas before being KO'd by Sonicboom. Espurr came out next and I used Covet on it to steal its Sitrus Berry while the Electrode used Charge. Espurr died on the next turn. It was game set and match now. I sent out Flare as a trick to try and have electrode use Charge Beam. When I switched into Pachirusu, it unfortunately used Sonicboom. I switched Flare back in as fodder, then into Wubs (Whismur). Due to its ability, I switched back out into Pachirusu while the Electrode was forced to use Charge Beam to heal my Pokemon. I kept Pachirusu in while the Electrode died next turn not killing Pachirusu with Sonicboom. Changes in Julia: Once again, her AI worked marvelous against me, but I saw some of those AI problems with Electrify. Her Heliolisk now has Eerie Impuse so that should fix that problem. (If anyone experiences major issues they can post it here, PM me, or post it in the Hardcore topic in the Fan-Game Expose). Current team:
  9. Technically, it's not against the rules but it's slightly frowned upon. The only ones I'm willing to do is Hardcore monotypes because those are hard and you need all the help you can get in that type of challenge. I also set the egg and variables at the beginning of the game after the two rival battles and won't do it past that point. As for the two choices, I would've given you Ryhorn as Excadrill makes this kind of challenge boring and not fun due to basically destroying half the threats in Reborn. You also really don't need either of those Pokemon because Onix is available and you get 3 (technically two) fantastic ground types after Corey (Geodude, Diglett, Golett/Baltoy).
  10. (points to sturdy Magnemite with T-wave) Trust me, I beat it with a normal team, but you have to know what you're doing or it'll devour you. If it is too powerful or I get enough complaints, I'll lower it 5-10 levels, but the moveset isn't changing. I could probably name quite a few ways to do this and if a certain someone didn't remove the lucky egg at the start, it wouldn't be so tedious (seriously, I can't even play Hardcore without it anymore). As for Noel, I originally though he was kind of tough, but I get what everyone is saying. I thought he'd be too strong because I've seen a huge number of complaints about Noel in his Pre-nerf days (he might also become a doubles fight...in E16 though). I'm probably going to do a log of a test run I'm doing for adjustments and when I reach Noel, I'll do a poll about the Mega and Lickilicy's replacement. What I won't do ever is Snorlax. I believe El is going to have one when we face him (in a very early release, there was a special cameo fight against El where you could fight his Snorlax as a bonus). Generally when there are multiple leaders of a type, I try to avoid dupes to make them a bit more unique. I thought Lickilicky would hold his ground with all of those boosted moves, but I suppose not.
  11. Acrobatics is too strong they said. World Champion don't care http://prnt.sc/8rfswu

Seriously, I should probably make a log of this test run.

  12. Summary of Cain battle: Cain spammed scratch and missed once while Chinchou spammed water gun to win (I think it was knocked down to like 11 HP and would've won regardless) Summary of Victoria battle: Spammed water gun twice and laughed at Julia(soon) Victoria's pathetic attempt of damage. I think it did like 3 HP damage wise. Also, I do recommend getting the World Champ as I was kind of making sure Pachirisu was the variable picked for the electric type. You can probably guess the other one I was checking. No seriously, get Pachirusu. That's what I'm using against Julia.
  13. I've seen her on Showdown once in a great while, but I'm pretty busy with that 100 page story thing so I don't know. We all get busy from time to time. (It's also half the reason I'm not flooding the OOC). Anyways, I'll let somebody else post before going all Citrine again.
  14. If it keeps this topic alive, nobody will say anything. You could also make a completely new topic dedicated to that comic strip if you really wanted to. It's just easier to keep track of stuff on here.
  15. My version of the game is a little bit different from Jamak's (like just a couple abilities such as Noel's Staraptor having Intimidate instead of Reckless), but it's more or less the same game. Here. As for the save file, I kind of wanted to check on two little things (and trust me the Cain and Victoria thing was very anticlimatic) so if you want to fight the rivals, I'll give you a different save:
  16. I think you're worrying a bit too much and far more characters have had closure than you think. Shelly is one of them. ZEL's is almost done and I don't know about the rest of Meteor but in the coming episode's it'll tie together. Titania and Amaria don't need much screentime to finish what's been set up, and most of the others don't need that much time to finish. The only one that needs a ton of time is Radomus and El because we've barely even touched on them for like the past 4 episodes at all. Heck, El is one of the few characters we haven't even faced yet, but I'm speculating something is going to happen soon. But your issue is something I call having a lot of characters. When you have a story featuring a lot of characters, most of them aren't going to get a lot of screen time. They don't need it either to be very good or very entertaining (such as Corey...and by that I mean his one Episode appearance was quite amazing). I have to go through a lot of this for Revolution's storyline and let me tell you how easy it is to try and jam everything at the end (most games try to do that when they're compressed for time...and movies too). But my priority is to make sure the main plot flows very well and is consistent (and trust me, it's a behemoth in and of itself) and to then slowly include a bit of the side stories, but many of them are put as optional quests or completely optional entirely as not everyone cares about them. Think about it this way: each episode brings some more pieces to solve the puzzle. In fact if you read carefully, you can start to figure out what exactly is going to happen or have some very good predictions. Remember how Radomus had a Meteor outfit? He also has the Amethyst Pendant so we may eventually see him in the coming episode and perhaps shine light on the mysterious character. Also, did you forget how Cal and Shelly met again and resolved that conflict that has been known about since Episode VII? There's a lot of build up that has happened for all the character (usually it's 1 or 2 episodes) so there's not much needed to finish them. Just look carefully and you'll be surprised how much you missed the first go around.
  17. At some point, can you PM me your info on your current Pokemon data (or the best you can). I could try to edit one of my save files (the one right before Radomus) to match the data if you really want me to (EVs, IVs, and all) or get really close to it. That way, you can continue from where you were. If not, I gotta say you got really far and was sure you could make it to the end.
  18. I've already hit 35 pages for Revolution's storyline and I'm not even halfway there yet.

Wow not bad. Continue the great work so Revolution is the best it can be (pokemon johto anime theme song reference lol). I'm beta tester and boy will I enjoy having all the freedom to suggest and critique to make things better soon. ;D I hope my story can be just as good. I'm only 3 pages in myself for my game.

  19. Just a quick update saying all the Leader spots in Revolution are now taken. Fairy and all.

  20. A skilled player with a certain type can stand strong even at the disadvantage with the right skills. My best advice is to not think about what Pokemon you pick, but more the tools that you use. The better you know your own team, the higher chances you have at winning. Also pick Pokemon who can use Multiple Items effectively so that when you get to the leader you know you're screwed for, you can use Berries as a neat surprise (or maybe no item at all).
  21. (Grabs Popcorn) Oh this'll be good. Your team is actually at the level to fight him (58 is the recommended) and I fought him with a team with 3 members who couldn't take a Psychic too well. You might need to bring some new teammates but Radomus is definitely winnable with poison types like Orion and Cain due to the damage type. But try your hardest to keep your Pokemon alive for as long as possible.
  22. So I was just playing Reborn Hardcore causally then this happened: http://prntscr.com/8qx0jn

looks like Wingull soiled itself lol.

  23. Fate/10 (Get it because Fate sounds like 8...I'll stop)
  24. TBH, Route 1 is actually simple except for the side stuff which is really, really tedious. NGL though, all I did to Radomus's team is give him the level boosts they need (all of them are 60-65 range) as his team is good, but the AI screws him over. This is the fight I'm not sure of because while I could bring back his Calm Mind team, I prefer trying to keep leaders to their themes (like how Radomus used Trick Room in league). Episode 9 is probably the most disappointing part of the game. Also, Dragalge is awesome and probably my favorite Dragon type. I used an Acid Armor one in UU and I've had people ragequit on me due to that monster.
  25. Well there's your problem. All those Pokemon really can't take a Rock type attack which Radomus is loaded with. TBH, a Dark Type like Honchkrow or Escalvier will make short work of his team. I'd say DD scraggy of the three choices.
